Rage drags himself outback following the rather sleepless night he had. His dream was stuck in a loop in the back of his head. He couldn't imagine what could happen yet. If Twilight and her friends fail what happens then?

He knew he said he'd do everything to protect them but he knew deep down he had no idea how to so much as throw a simple Chaos Spear like this. As a Mobian? He could do it all no questions asked, no problem but without hands? Things were different. Especially with the Emeralds not being physically present.

"Are you sure you're up for this?" Twilight's voice breaks through his thoughts and he looks at her. "It's going to be a long day for you." She warns.

"Yeah." Rage nods looking at the book in front of him.

"Alright." Twilight sighs. "All of our magic is channeled through our horns." She says "But I assume you figured that much out given your little mishap in Canterlot?"

"Don't remind me…" Rage grumbles "My head still hurts from that."

"We'll start with something easy and go from there. Once you learn to control your magic I am sure you'll do fine." Twilight smiles.

"Easy being…?" Rage asks.

"Horn illumination!" Twilight stays with an assertive nod. She hands Rage book and looks at it.

"Unicorn Magic for Fillies?" Rage asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"I know what you're thinking but trust me on this." Twilight says "It's so simple even a child can do it!"

"Because the book is made for children…" Rage mutters opening it.

Hours of struggling and frustration later Rage finally managed to get the hang of how magic was supposed to work. He had his horn illuminated with a nice vivid purple aura. He had to admit Equestrian magic was much different than the magic he learned on Mobius.

"There you go!" Twilight exclaims happily. Rage smiled and sighed. It felt good to have it figured out.

That was when he felt a tickle deep in his nostril. 'Oh boy…' he thought. He inhaled sharply. "Ah…" he vocalized before letting a violent sneeze out. With that a beam of magic shot from his horn punching a hole in the fence across the way.

Twilight ducked as another sneezed rocked Rage and a beam shot into the air. He breathed deep a few times as the aura on his horn faded. Twilight looked a bit shaken at the unicorn.

"What…was that?" She asks "I've never seen magic go haywire like that!"

"I dunno…" Rage sniffs and lets a heavy sigh out. "I've never had anything like that happen…I just sneezed…"

"Maybe we should take a break." Twilight suggests.

"I'd appreciate a break." Rage nods as the two walk back inside.

"You know, you're learning pretty quick, Rage." Twilight says as she brings a tray of crackers and water out of the kitchen area. "It takes most ponies a few days to learn to even control their magic once they start using it."

"I am not new to magic…so it probably has to do with that." Rage answers. "Now I know how to channel my magic so it'll be a breeze." He says picking up a glass full of water in a magical grip. "See?"

"Don't get too cocky now." Twilight warns. "Magic is dangerous and if you're not careful who knows what could happen!"

"I know Twilight…" Rage sighs, putting the cup down after drinking from it. "Believe me…I know…"

"You sound like you have experience…" Twilight inquired, taking a sip of water herself.

"It was a long time ago." Rage sighed "When I was younger I nearly destroyed myself…"

"So you know to be careful then." Twilight affirmed her position on using caution when casting spells.

"You have no idea…" Rage muttered as he munched on a cracker. "Anything else planned for the day?"

"Not really." Twilight says "I am heading back to Canterlot this evening for a meeting with Celestia. I won't be back until tomorrow…"

"Do you want me to go with you?" Rage asks, raising an eyebrow.

"No, no. I am fine going alone. I think you and Spike can handle things here." Twilight answers. "It'll be a boring meeting anyway. Most of them are."

"Alright." Rage responds with a soft nod. "Have you told Spike?"

"Not yet." Twilight replies.

"Speaking of which, where is he?" Rage asks, raising the cup again to take another drink. "I haven't seen him all day."

"He's out running errands for me." Twilight answers. "We needed some supplies for the library."

"I see…" Rage nods "Is there anything you want me to do while you're gone?" He asks.

Twilight looked a bit surprised to hear him offer that. "You're my guest." She says "You don't have to worry about-"

"I understand that. I am offering all the same." Rage says. "Who knows how long I am going to be here. I'd rather offer help than lay around all day."

"Well, if that's the case..." Twilight rubbed her chin. "I guess you could-"

Twilight was interrupted by a tomboyish shout of her name as a cyan pegasus bursts into the library running right over Rage to Twilight. "Twilight! You need to come quick!" she panics.

"Rainbow Dash what's-" Twilight attempted to get the pegasus to slow down and explain but it was an effort of futility as she was grabbed.

"No time!" She exclaims "You have to see it for yourself!" with that she drug Twilight out of the library leaving a trampled Rage on the floor.

"Ugh..." Rage groans slowly standing up. "That hurt..." he looked out the door and sighed. "I wonder what that was all about..." he mutters.

As for Twilight she struggles to get free from Rainbow's grip and just as they reach the end of the street Twilight manages to break away. "Rainbow Dash! What in Equestria has gotten into you?!" she shouts. The cyan pegasus turns and looks at Twilight.

"You're never going to believe it!" Rainbow Dash exclaims. "You have to come with me ASAP!" She says attempting to grab her again.

"Hold on!" Twilight barks pulling her hoof back. "You just trampled all over my guest and rushed me out of my house without so much as acknowledging them or even apologizing!"

"Yeah, yeah I'll do it later." Rainbow scoffs waving her hoof dismissively. "This is serious!"

Twilight gave Rainbow Dash a look and she groaned. "Fine..." the pegasus grumps darting back to the Library to find Rage rubbing his head. "Sorry!" she says hastily.

"Wait-" Rage tried to get her to stop but it was no use. "Ugh...she reminds me of a certain someone..." he muttered to himself as he shook himself off. He then went to follow them.

Rainbow Dash returned in a flash to grab Twilight again and take her to Ponyville Square where most of the residents were gathered and making fearful comments. They look to the fountain as the moon replaced the sun. "What in Equestria?" Twilight asks herself. "It's the middle of the afternoon..."

"I told you!" Rainbow Dash exclaims as a sinister cackling echoed through the air.

"What's going on?!" Applejack asks as she, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Spike and Fluttershy joined the two. Shortly after that a strange dark mist began to flow across the ground in front of them. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flapped their wings to hover over it.

"It's been far too long since I've seen so many fearful ponies..." a sinister, dark voice chuckles. The mist forms around the fountain which turns to a sinister shadowy crystal. As it encroached upon the peak. It formed a dark gray unicorn dressed in a set of darkened steel armor. A blood red horn and pair of eyes looked upon the group of ponies.

"King Sombra?!" Twilight exclaimed "How did he get away from the Crystal Empire though?!"

The unicorn scanned the group of ponies and locked his eyes on Twilight and her friends. He sneered and hopped down from atop the fountain. Ponies moved out of his way as he approached the six. "I remember you..." he speaks in a venomous tone. "You six were the ones who got in my way last time..."

"We'll stop you again too!" Rainbow Dash says glaring at Sombra.

The unicorn laughs almost hysterically at this challenge. "Oh yeah? You and what army?" he asks walking back as other ponies all backed away from him. "You see the fear my presence alone strikes into the hearts of these ponies? They know to bow to their king."

"You won't get away with this Sombra!" Twilight shouts.

"Ha ha ha..." The unicorn chuckles in a sinister tone as a green fire shoots from his eyes. "That is where you are wrong my little pony." he says "I already have...Celestia is under my hoof and her sister? Well...let's just say she's reliving some old times..."

"You monster..." Twilight growls. She was then picked up by a green magical aura and pulled over to him.

"Now now, that's no way to talk to your king!" he barks in her face. She struggles to get free and shocks him briefly with a magical blast. Sombra looks angrily at her and fires his own blast. It strikes her horn and the tip is covered in crystal rendering it useless.

He snorts and picks her up once again. "Now let's try this again..." he snarls at her. "Say it..."

"Twilight!" Rainbow Dash shouts. The cyan pegasus attempts to charge the unicorn but she was stopped in her tracks by the very same energy. "Hey! Uncool!" she grunts.

Sombra laughs as he knocks the two together and throws them into the others. Applejack tried to grab Rainbow Dash but she was thrown with too much force. The six piled together and Sombra laughed walking forward. "I am going to do what I should have done the first time..." he says darkly as his horn glows.

Finally Rage comes running down the path right as they collide and piled up. He saw what was going on and picked up the pace. 'No!' he thought. He knew he wasn't adept with using his powers in this form but he had no choice, if he didn't try something they'd be done for! He focused on one goal, saving his friends.

He ran faster than he had before in this form. He leaps into the air to cover the gap and his horn glows. "Twilight!" he shouts as he forms a shield of Chaos Energy around him and it impacts with the beam that Sombra fired. It was deflected and threw up a cloud of dust.

Sombra coughs and squints. The dust had obscured his vision. He didn't know what had happened.

As the dust cleared he could see Rage standing in a defensive stance. The beam had struck him instead. He was covered in burns and small scrapes. The red unicorn pants as he looked at Sombra. "Rage?!" Twilight and Rarity exclaimed more in shock.

"What...?!" Sombra exclaims in anger. "Who...What?! HOW?!"

Rage looks Sombra dead in the eyes and raises his head up as he stands tall. "Hands off my friends," he says simply, though it came out as shaky.

Sombra bares his teeth in anger looking at Rage furiously. How could this nobody hop in like some kind of hero and foil his plan? "You...unicorn..." he says "I don't know who you are but count yourself lucky. Listen up though and listen good...Next time we meet...if we meet; the real me will obliterate you and those six mares."

"Hmph." Rage scoffs "Try it." he taunts. "You don't stand a chance."

"Ha ha ha...your confidence will be your own undoing!" Sombra cackles as his form fades. The mist vanished and the sky returned to the normal midafternoon sky as it had been before. Rage then falls to the ground. The six ran up to him and Twilight knelt down next to him.

"Rage?!" Twilight exclaims in shock "Are you alright?!"

"Y-yeah." he coughs. He was trying to act tough and make it seem like that beam didn't do nearly as much to him as it did.

"Are you crazy?!" Rainbow Dash exclaims "You could have-"

"Why did ya go and get yerself hurt for us like that?!" Applejack butts in over Applejack.

"You're my friends right?" Rage smiles. "Why wouldn't I help my friends?"

"Rage, you're hurt..." Twilight says "We need to get you to the hospital."

"I'll be fine." Rage says standing up but shaking. He nearly fell again but Applejack walks to his side and holds him up. "I...just need to rest." he pants.

"Alright, let's get ya someplace safe." Applejack says. "Rainbow Dash can ya help me?"

"Sure." Rainbow Dash nods as she gallops over to his right side. They assisted him back to Twilight's Library where he had been staying and into his room. The other four accompanied him.

"What were you thinking, Rage?!" Twilight exclaims giving him a stern look like one a teacher or parent would give a misbehaving child. "You could have gotten yourself killed!"

"I...kinda wasnt'..." Rage admits "I just knew I had to help you..."

Twilight sighs. "You didn't have to do that..." she says "We could have handled ourselves fine."

"Please, this is nothing." Rage chuckles but then groans "Ow...hurts to laugh."

"Rage, that was too reckless." Applejack shakes her head.

"I agree." Twilight says "If you're going to pull stunts like that I can't take you with us to the Crystal Empire."

Rage's eyes narrowed when he heard that. "I'm sorry." he says "I swear it won't happen again." he exhaled in pain. "Seriously..." The six glared at him and he just looked back at them.

"Alright...don't let it happen again." Twilight orders. "Let's go girls, he needs to rest." She says. The six then turn and leave Rage alone in the room.

Rage laid in the bed and sighed. "Way to go Rage." he muttered to himself. "You went and nearly got yourself killed...again...out of your desire to protect those you care about." He closed his eyes.

As the girls walked out Rainbow Dash stopped and made sure the other five weren't going to notice. She then slipped back into Rage's ear twitched when she did and he opened his eyes to see her. "Hey..." she says awkwardly.

"H-hey..." Rage grunts "You're..."

"Rainbow Dash." She introduces herself... "I sorta trampled over you earlier."

Rage nodded "I remember." he says with a soft smile. "Hardly anything compared to what I just did." he chuckles.

"Look." she says "I just wanted to say...thank you. What you did was pretty cool even if it was stupid."

"I don't know if I should thank you or just say you're welcome." Rage jokes.

Rainbow Dash looked at him. "What's your name?" she asks. "I mean, besides Rage."

"Oh...Burning Rage." He says with a nod of his head. "It's nice to meet you properly."

"Likewise." she says "I should go before Twilight and the others find out I hung back. See you around?" she asks.

"Yeah...after I rest up a bit." Rage said with a cheerful smile. Rainbow Dash nods and leaves the room silently closing the door. Rage waited a few seconds before turning over.

He then found himself face to face with a pair of green monstrous eyes and he looked in shock for a second and reeled backwards in the bed. The eyes were part of a maroon wyvern that was translucent and Rage could see the evening sunshine through it. "You know that was reckless even for you." it spoke.

"Blade." Rage sighs. This small wyvern spirit was Bureinjingukaosu or Blade as Rage called it. An ancient spirit that resided within him tied to his weapon, a Blade of Chaos. It was a guide, a second voice and his closest friend. "It's good to see you too."

"You've been trying really hard to fit in around here." it says "I can't blame you. Especially after what happened."

"It's not like I have a choice." Rage sighs "How else am I supposed to get home?"

"You could have just left those six to do it on their own." Blade says. Rage looked at Blade with a disturbed look. This made the wyvern look at him with concern. "What?"

"My...vision..." Rage sighs.

"Rage, unless I summon you in your sleep you know I can't view your dreams. What vision?" the wyvern asks.

"Last night." Rage says "I had a vision about what happens if Twilight and her friends go to face Sombra alone...this little thing here with that..whatever it was proves that it'll come true...I can't let that happen..."

"What happens to them?" Blade asks in a curious but worried voice.

"They fail." Rage says "I don't know if they die or if they are just encased in crystal but I have to do everything in my power to prevent that outcome. They're important to this world, Blade. Like I am to Mobius, like the Chaos Guardians were."

The dragon nods. "Indeed they are." he says "They are the embodiments of the Elements of Harmony."

"The Elements of what?" Rage asks.

"You don't know about them?" Blade asks, surprised.

"You do?!" Rage exclaims in a hushed tone. "You know I've never been to this world before all of this! World hopping isn't something I'm supposed to do just for fun you know!"

"They're a force of six traits." Blade says "Positive ones that are vital to Equestria. Kindness, Loyalty, Honesty, Generosity, Laughter and Magic. Each of those six represent them...if you can't tell."

"All the more reason I need to make sure they're protected." Rage says "I'll ask you later about how you know so much."

"Remember Celestia's words back at Canterlot?" Blade asks. Rage's eyes lit up. He had forgotten but Celestia had mentioned knowing of the Chaos Guardians as well. "We had a Chaos Guardian get lost here once a very long time ago. Had it not been for the help of Celestia they would have never found their way back to Mobius. Unfortunately they were a casualty of The Shadow War." Blade explains "During their time here they learned about Equestria and they taught Celestia some about our order as well. It is all documented in the Chaos Archives."

"Which I don't have access to at the moment." Rage states sternly before grunting in pain.

"I should leave you to rest." The wyvern says bowing its head.

"I would appreciate that." Rage says turning over. The wyvern faded away and Rage shut his eyes. As he closed his eyes his thoughts were on his new friends and how he could tell them or even if he could tell them about his vision. Would they even believe him?

He sighed, all questions for another time. After he had rested up and was in a better shape to do so he'd try to mention it to Twilight. He could only hope it would do anything though, after all visions aren't normally some accepted thing in most worlds, he knew that much. As his thoughts moved on to what could have been going on back home finally sleep took the red unicorn for good.
