Twilight and Spike were cleaning the library as Rage walked inside. "Good morning." he yawns, getting their attention.
"Rage?" Twilight looks over to him "Where have you been?"
"Sorry..." he sighs "I had to take a walk this morning...everything's got me on edge."
"What made you so worried?" she asks putting the feather duster she had down.
"I mean...what hasn't?" He sighs "The whole thing with Sonic being here, an old enemy of mine lurking in the shadows? You seriously expect me to be fine with all of it?"
Twilight stood silent for a minute. She thought about it all. "I mean...I guess I wouldn't know..." she admits "I don't know much about this Christain..."
"I am not sure what all there really is to say..." Rage shrugs as he picks up a mop to help Spike with the floors. "He's evil, hates my guts, will do anything to get under my skin and follows some dark master or something."
"Dark master?" Twilight asks, raising an eye. "That sounds ominous..."
"I know right." Rage chuckled as he moved back and forth with the mop. "But it hurts every time we fight..." he sighed looking at his reflection.
"Do you relate with him?" Twilight asks, walking over to Rage.
"No." Rage sighs, he figured there was no point in keeping it a secret. She was his friend, that alone put her in enough danger. "A long time ago...Christain was my best friend." Rage sighs. Twilight looked a bit concerned when she heard this.
The arguments she had with her friends when they popped up were bad. She could only imagine what it must have been like for him. Especially given his past. "Does anyone else know?" Twilight asks.
Rage simply shook his head. "No...you're the first one I've told...I don't like to think about it honestly...the way he was corrupted..." Rage bared his teeth and shook his head. It infuriated him, what had happened to his friend. "Nothing I do is enough either..."
"I am sure someday you'll be able to help him, Rage." Twilight says with a smile "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but I know you can." She walked up next to him and put a wing around him to comfort him. "Friendship is the most powerful magic I have ever seen. It can do wondrous things!"
"Maybe in Equestria." Rage sighed with a soft smile. The feeling of the feathery wing was comforting. "Mobius though? Well, I am not so sure."
"Why don't we take a break, Spike?" Twilight says, looking at the small dragon.
"Oh alright." Spike says with a shrug.
"Twi?" Rage looked at the alicorn and smiled as he wriggled away from her wing. "I want to be upfront with you about something. About me."
"What is it?" She asks.
"If it wasn't obvious, I am sorta...new to a lot of my powers..." Rage sighs.
Twilight giggles. "Yeah, it kinda shows." She says "Remember when you first arrived?"
Rage blushed slightly embarrassed. "Yeah..." He smiled "Haven't got much better huh?"
"That's not true." Twilight says with a stomp of the hoof. "You stood up to Sombra with your powers. That not only took a lot of guts but it showed you have gotten much better."
Rage smiled. "Thanks Twi." He says. He let out a happy sigh of air as he looked out of a window to the Library to see Applejack and Rainbow Dash walking the trail to the Library. "Looks like we have company," he says to Twilight.
The door opened and the two walked into the Library. Applejack talking about dropping off Applebloom at school. "Sorry AJ, I have to be in Cloudsdale tomorrow morning. They're giving us the outlook for the next few weeks so we can help with clouds."
"No worries." Applejack sighed looking down "I understand."
"What's wrong?" Twilight asks.
"Oh it's nothin' much." Applejack says "I need someone to walk Applebloom and her friends to school tomorrow. They're all stayin' over at mah place and we don't like letting the walk there alone if we can avoid it...Ain't any chance you can help Twi?"
"I'd love to Applejack but I'm all wrapped up with getting things ready for Nightmare Night." Twilight sighs.
"Nightmare Night?" Rage asks curiously, tilting his head. "What's that?"
Rainbow Dash looked shocked at Rage. "You've never heard of Nightmare Night?!" she exclaims "What kind of rock have you been-" She started to exclaim in disbelief before Applejack stopped her.
"He's new round' here, remember Dash?" the orange pony reminded her.
Rainbow Dash looked a bit distraught as she hit herself mentally for that. "I guess I sorta forgot you're not originally from Equestria, Sorry." She apologized.
"It's alright." Rage said with a smile. His heart jumped a bit from annoyance given how she had first made it sound like he was an idiot but he let it go.
"Nightmare Night is a holiday focused around Nightmare Moon and the legends. Everypony wears costumes, foals and fillies go from door to door getting candy. Some older ponies will even throw big parties." Twilight explains "It's a lot of fun."
"Nightmare Moon?" Rage asks as he tapped his chin he remembered that name. "That was...the evil form of Luna or something right?"
"Yes." Twilight sighs. "The legend goes that long ago ponies lived in harmony. Princess Celestia and Luna ruled together but eventually Luna's heart became bitter as most ponies would sleep during her beautiful night. One night she just refused to lower the moon to make way for the day. Her bitterness had changed her into a wicked Mare of Darkness. Celestia had to use The Elements of Harmony to banish her to the moon..."
"I had heard the legend." Rage says "We have a similar tradition on Mobius, costumes and kids running around for candy and all."
"Your world is governed by sister princesses too?" Pinkie Pie's voice erupted out of nowhere as she jumped in front of Rage startling him.
He took a second and once he realized who it was he let out a sigh. "Don't scare me like that..." he says with a grumble. "Anyway. As I said, similar." He walked back up to where he had been as Pinkie jumped over and they were now sorta just in a circle. "On Mobius we celebrate All Hallow's Eve or Halloween as it's called."
"Halloween?" Pinkie asks "That sounds like fun!" she shouts jumping up and down.
"Pinkie, let him talk." Twilight grumps at her. She just smiled and covered her mouth.
"Okay! No more!" She says looking at Rage speaking muffled to him. "Tell us!"
"Anyway..." Rage stated picking up where he left off "There's much of the same, the children dress up in costumes and go what we call 'trick-or-treating' hoping for candy at every house they visit. Parties abound and there's a lot of festivities. Though the history of the holiday is different. Way back in the day many on Mobius believed in the spirits of the dead. Though the original festivities were much different. It was full of rituals to appease these spirits in hopes for bountiful harvests and protection. Large bonfires, burning of crops and other rituals. I have no idea how it came to be what it is now but it's since a day of celebrating things most Mobians tend to fear or be spooked over."
"Wow." Twilight comments "It sounds interesting."
"It sounds boring." Rainbow Dash gags. "I mean seriously? Spirits? Ghosts? Who believes in that!" Rage and Twilight looked at each other and smirked at each other with a chuckle. "What?" Rainbow Dash asks.
"Nothing." Twilight comments shaking her head. "Just something that happened a while ago."
"So, they believed these ceremonies would help with their harvest?" Applejack asks, tilting her head.
"Yeah." Rage nodded with his reply. "Though how effective it was I couldn't say. I wasn't around in those times. My whole life it's been the candy and parties type."
"Anyway, boring talk aside, who are you going to get to take Applebloom and them to school?" Rainbow Dash asks Applejack, reminding the two why they had come to the Library in the first place.
"Oh that's right!" Applejack exclaims "Sorry, I spaced off." She chuckled. "P-"
"No can do!" Pinkie hops as she declines. "I'm busy with a large baking order tomorrow, sorry!"
Applejack sighed, the only one left was Rarity and she already knew that Rarity was busy too with her own things. Plus she wasn't one for going out to Sweet Apple Acres if she could avoid it because of the dirt and dust everywhere.
"I can do it." Rage speaks up. Applejack looked up to Rage with a happy look.
"Ya sure?" she asks. "Twilight doesn't have you tied up with anything?"
"Not right now." Rage shrugs "I'm working on a project but I am sure it can be put on hold for a bit while I do something like that." he says looking to Twilight for confirmation. The purple alicorn nods with a smile.
"You've made so much progress with it I think that is more than acceptable." She stated.
"Thanks Rage." Applejack sighs. "Don't worry about knowing where to go, Applebloom and her friends all know the way, you just need to be with them."
"Happy to help Applejack." Rage smiled as they bump hooves. "I'll be there bright and early to get them."
"We'll look forward to it." Applejack affirms before turning around to the door. "Anyway I should be heading back. We got work to do on Sweet Apple Acres!"
"Have a good day AJ!" Rainbow Dash says as she walks out of the Library. Then she looked at Twilight "Hey Twi, I wanted to thank you for holding that book for me." she says.
"Of course!" Twilight smiled "I was more than happy to. It's not every day I see a request like that from you."
"Oooo Dashie getting into books?" Pinkie Pie snickers.
"Am not!" She scoffs "It's just one book I wanted to get for a...friend!" She objects as a bead of sweat drips down her face. "Don't you have some cupcakes to bake or something?!"
When Rainbow Dash said this Pinkie Pie jolted up "Oh no!" She exclaims "You're right!" She then bolts out of the Library at high speeds.
"Yeesh." Rage chuckled "She sure was quick to rush out. Did she leave something in the oven?"
"Knowing her? Wouldn't surprise me." Twilight shrugged.
"Well I should be going. I got cloudbusting duty today." Rainbow Dash says with a wave. The remaining three wave as Rainbow Dash leaves the Library.
"That was something huh?" Rage chuckles lookin at Twilight who nods.
"Speaking of your project, how is it going?" She asks, looking at Rage curiously.
"So far so good." Rage answers. "I've gotten probably a little more than two thirds done. Once I cracked how he encoded the journal it was easy...Though I'll admit Blade's warnings were accurate."
"What do you mean?" Twilight asks, tilting her head curiously.
"Before I got working on this, Blade told me that going through Dranzer's journal like this could reveal some things that were...better left unsaid. Better left private." Rage answers looking a bit distraught as he thought of a few entries in particular.
"Such as?" Twilight asks curiously. She wanted to know all she could about this journal. Especially if Celestia wanted to know so much about it.
"If I tell you then you have to promise to keep it secret?" Rage asks her as he walks over to the shelf that held the journal as well as the notes he had kept, and his current work in progress translation copy. Twilight nodded as he used his magic to open the translation to a page earlier on in it.
Day 23, Been almost a month since I arrived here. Things have been weird lately. Some weirdo called Discord has been causing chaos everywhere. Princess Celestia said she had found these strange things called The Elements of Harmony. Some strange powerful artifacts of this world much like The Chaos Emeralds. They plan to use their power to defeat Discord.
Day 27, Well they did it. Discord was defeated and turned to stone. Seeing the Elements of Harmony in action was a sight. A powerful magic they seem to channel. Rainbow Magic I have personally dubbed it. Discord didn't stand a chance.
According to Star-Swirl the Elements were made by The Lord of Order a long, long time ago. I can only imagine what early Equestria must have been like with them needing something as powerful as them.
Day 35, Just over a month now...Mobian time at least...or I hope. Time dilation is a real concern but I have no way back to Mobius without another Guardian. I am sure they're looking for me but in the meantime I am here. You'd think they'd make more progress, what with me having the Emeralds with me but I guess it's not as important. Not like we lost our powers without them or anything.
Princess Celestia mentioned something about the Chaos Emeralds and Elements of Harmony. She wanted to use the Chaos Emeralds as some failsafe if we'd do the same with the Elements. She wasn't super specific but I am not sure it's a good idea.
Day 88, lately I have been finding it hard to concentrate. There is this purple unicorn in town that caught my eye. She's one of Celestia's liaisons for businesses in town. I can't believe I am admitting to being attracted to her. It's wrong I know…
Day 191, Chaotix agreed to it. After a long discussion with me. We looked at the fact that Mobius is in some way linked to Equestria he knows someday this will be needed in one world or the other. Equestria can be dangerous much like Mobius. Something is on Chaotix's mind though. I don't know what but he's worried about something big.
Someday we'll find why the worlds are so closely linked. However by the time we do I am worried about what Chaotix will even think. He hasn't been himself lately. In the meantime he's authorized me to remain. He wants an envoy here in Equestria. Thankfully Princess Celestia has been more than welcoming. She's told us a lot and even permitted us to take copies of historical documents to The Chaos Archives. In return we've shared information on Mobius. As well as some of our future visions.'
"Hold on." Twilight says looking over to The Elements of Harmony. "What is he talking about? What would he know about The Elements?"
"I have no idea." Rage shook his head. "I even asked him..."
...Rage was in the Chaos Council building. A large stone building with a long stone table and eleven seats. He sat across from a green fox. "...So Celestia is still around after all of this time?" he asks in shock.
"Yeah, she was worried about you." Rage replied.
"Did you tell her the truth?" The green fox asks, his eyes showing a worry that Rage had left her with hope that he may someday come back to see her.
"I had to." Rage sighs "I couldn't lie to her, especially after we had your journal."
"My...journal?" Dranzer asks, a bit surprised. "She found it?! I was hoping for that..."
"Yeah and what I've gotten from it so far has me worried." Rage says looking Dranzer in the eyes. Dranzer looked back. He knew he had coded it and written it in what was now called Ancient Echidna. He never expected things to turn out like this though. Of course Rage would have been able to not only translate but eventually decode it.
"What have you discovered?" Dranzer asks worriedly.
"Dranzer, what did you mean about the Chaos Emeralds and Elements of Harmony being connected?" Rage asks, crossing his arms.
"That?" Dranzer asks "I can't tell you...you're not ready yet."
"Dranzer..." Rage looks at him "I am the LAST Chaos Guardian. You can't keep information like that from me."
"We have to Rage. Until you are ready." Dranzer sighs. "Look I want to tell you, I really do but you're not ready. You need to understand, your training, your whole status as a Chaos Guardian isn't the same as everyone else in the past."
"I am well aware of that. You guys said that I have to learn the rest on my own. You know how hard that has been?" He asks. "Ever since I stopped Christain and used my True Chaos Form it's like my mind was opened up to all of these Elemental Chaos powers you all kept from me."
"Not kept..." Dranzer sighs "We couldn't train you property in Elemental Chaos."
"And why not? You guys seem pretty adept at it!" Rage scoffs.
"Because..." Another voice comes from the head of the room as a golden Mobian Wolf walks in accompanied by a black and red feral wolf. It was Chaotix, Head of the Chaos Council.
"Because what?" Rage asks, turning to Chaotix.
"We taught you Inferno, Icy and Shocking because it was something that Dranzer, Dex and myself had mastered. The others...their instructors were lost to time. Lost during The Shadow War. Their knowledge with them." Chaotix explains as he takes a seat at the council table with the other two. "As such I made the executive decision not to have you train in the other forms so we couldn't fully train you in them. With how volatile Elemental Chaos is, using any form with incomplete knowledge is dangerous."
Rage looked a bit upset. He had forgotten that. "I'm sorry," he sighed. "I was rash in my rush to judgment."
"It's alright." Chaotix sighs.
"What brings you here Master Chaotix?" Dranzer asks.
"Rage." The wolf says.
"...And from there...He just really spoke to me about how change was coming. He wasn't super specific which isn't a surprise for him." Rage sighs. "Man's an enigma at times."
Twilight chuckled. "Well maybe he wasn't so far off." she commented and looked at her wings. "I mean we have had a lot of things change the last few weeks..."
"I dunno...I think his warning is of something to come. He confirmed my suspicions..." Rage said looking away from Twilight and to the window that the sun was shining through providing a warm evening feeling to his fur. "Somewhere in the Dark Christain is waiting...biding his time or plotting something and I can't even begin to imagine what he has planned."
"I am sure we can handle it. No matter what Rage." Twilight says with a smile. "You've defeated him before."
"Yeah...if only barely." Rage sighs looking to his front left hoof as he holds it up. He curled it like a fist. "But a lot has changed since then..."
"Rage, you have us too." Twilight says "If anything happens we've got your back."
Rage looked back to Twilight and smiled. "Thank you." he says. "It's reassuring to know I have friends who will go to these lengths with me..."
"How has Sonic been?" Twilight asks.
"He's been adjusting." Rage says. "I haven't seen him since Canterlot but I heard he's been spending a lot of time with Rainbow Dash."
Twilight chuckled. "Those two are like two peas in a pod. I hear he's made a good name for Mobians. Ponies aren't so scared of him anymore."
"That's good." Rage sighs with a yawn. "I was worried how others would take to him being so different."
"Sounds like you need to get some rest." Twilight smirked. The two laughed and Rage nodded.
"Yeah, especially if I need to help take Applebloom and her friends to school tomorrow." Rage chuckled. "See you later." he says walking into his room.
Twilight wished him a good night. Once he was in his room and the door shut she looked at the journal and flipped through some of the pages of the translation. A lot of talk of day to day things. Celestia, Star-Swirled...Luna, the night Luna became Nightmare Moon. A lot of things were there. "I had no idea how long he had been here...Celestia never mentioned him..." she said to herself after she had gone through a few entries.
The next day rolled around and Rage was up before the sun was even out. Twilight had mentioned how early they needed to start the walk to the schoolhouse from Sweet Apple Acres. She also mentioned that chances were they'd be getting around or ready by the time he got there.
Rage walked past an orchard of apples and he looked to the trees. He smiled thinking back to when he first met Applejack. Lost in his memories he almost lost track of time and before he knew it he had arrived at the small hill the farmhouse and barn rested on. He saw Big Mac hauling a wagon of apples up to the barn from around the side of it.
"Big Mac, have you seen Applejack?" Rage asks, walking up to the staunch, well built stallion. The two looked eye to eye, basically the same height. Rage is a bit thinner but still well built compared to the staunch stallion.
"Eeyup." He answers in one simple word pointing to a tree house off in the distance. Rage nodded thanking him for his help and walked over to the tree house where he could hear some rummaging around.
Rage could hear some crashing and indistinct young voices coming from the tree. He walked up the staircase that led to the door and knocked. He waited for a second as a shushing noise could be heard. Next thing he knew a small, orange pegasus opened the door. "Who are you?" she asks.
"Rage!" Applebloom rushed over and hugged his leg. Rage looked a bit weirded out until she let go. "What brings ya here?"
"You know him?" A small white unicorn that looked similar to Rarity asks the yellow pony.
"Sure do!" Applebloom exclaims "He's my sis' friend."
"Just a friend?" The pegasus looked at Rage and then back to Applebloom and laughed.
"Now be nice Scootaloo." Applejack's voice came from behind them as she walked into view. She was a mess. "Thanks for comin'."
"Is it true?" The white unicorn asks Applejack. "Or is Applebloom making stuff up?"
"Now Sweetie Belle you know lyin' ain't something I do." Applejack says "He's just a friend."
"Nothing more to it." Rage chuckled. His face reddened some with an embarrassed blush. "If you were insinuating what I think you were, I dunno where it came from."
"Ah just forget it. They got wild imaginations." Applejack chuckles "Anyway thanks for offerin' to help out today."
"What is Rage doing here big sis?" Applebloom asks.
"Wait...Rage?" Scootaloo asks. "As in Burning Rage?! The one who stopped Sombra?"
"Uh..." Rage looked a bit shocked he wasn't really that big of a deal...was he? "I mean...I was there. I helped but I didn't stop him."
"I heard you saved Princess Twilight!" Sweetie Belle exclaims "And you rescued Applejack Like a knight in shining armor. Oh how I dream of being whisked away like that!"
"Okay now that's not what happened!" Rage scoffs. "I helped. That was that."
"Pfft yeah right." Scootaloo scoffed "We're not stupid. Everyone at school's been talkin' about it!"
"Now y'all can talk on the way, you're gonna be late." Applejack says handing them their bags. "Go on!"
"Fine, we're going, we're going." Applebloom sighs as the three walk out of the treehouse.
"Thanks again partner." Applejack sighs as Rage turns to walk with the three fillies.
"It's no trouble." Rage smiled "See you later?"
"Of course." She nodded as he walked down the stairs and caught up with the three fillies.
"So, Rage, is it true that you can fly?" Scootaloo asks.
"Who said that?" Rage chuckled "Do I look like I can fly?"
"Well...we overheard Applejack telling Granny Smith the story... saying how when Sombra was defeated he tried to collapse the throne room on y'all." Applebloom says "She said you swooped her up and flow her to safety."
"I helped her." Rage says not sure if he should lie about his other form or not. Especially since he wasn't even totally sure how he did it in his Super Form either. "I used a levitation spell," he answers. "To float us down safely."
"That makes sense." Scootaloo sighs.
"So...what do you do? Are you a gemcrafter?" Applebloom asks, looking at Rage's cutie mark.
"In a way?" Rage stated in a more unsure tone. Twilight had explained cutie marks to him and he knew he couldn't tell the three the truth, if not for the fact he figured they were too young to comprehend it all anyway.
"I bet that's gotta be fun." Sweetie Belle cheers. "Could ya show us?"
"Maybe another time." Rage chuckled as they continued to walk.
The sun was over the horizon by the time the three made it to the schoolhouse. Other fillies had gathered around outside. A purple pony with a two-toned mane of pink shades was watching them as the three fillies Rage was escorting ran off and she looked over to him. He walked up and she bowed her head. "I was wondering who Applejack had gotten to get those three here today." she smiled.
"She asked you?" Rage chuckles and she nods.
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Cheerilee." She introduced herself to him. "I teach the ponies here so I had to kindly decline. Some of these fillies show up so early..."
"It's nice to meet you too. I'm Burning Rage but everypony calls me Rage." Rage bowed his head in greeting and she chuckled.
"Oh trust me...everypony here knows about you." Cherrilee comments. Rage looked confused. "You were at the ceremonies in Canterlot. You're surprised they've all been talking about it."
"I mean...a bit. It was celebrating Twilight and her friends." Rage answers. "I was a footnote."
"The kids sure seem to think differently." Cheerilee chuckles "They act as if you're the whole reason the Crystal Empire is even still around."
"All I did was help Twilight." Rage shrugs. "If I had to guess it's because they've gotten used to seeing Twilight and their achievements being celebrated. New name brings new possibilities I guess." Rage shrugs.
"It was nice to meet you." Cheerilee says "I should get these kids inside and I am sure you have your own things to do."
"Yeah, it was nice to meet you, Cheerilee." Rage smiled at her. She smiled back and turned around ushering the young ponies in with a few calls to them. Before she followed them she turned back around.
"Oh and Rage..." she spoke up, getting Rage's attention again. He turned around and looked at her "Thank you for bringing in Applebloom and her friends. I am sure Applejack appreciates it more than she let on."
"It wasn't any trouble." Rage smiled as Cheerilee walked inside the schoolhouse and Rage left to return to the library.
Rage's walk back through Ponyville was uneventful and he hummed to himself as he walked the streets of the peaceful town. He made it to the square where he bumped into Pinkie Pie who had a box of baked goods with her.
"Rage!" She cheered getting his attention.
"Oh!" The red unicorn exclaimed as he looked at the hyper pink pony. "Pinkie, how are you doing?" he asks.
"Happy as ever! What about you? Twilight says you've been buried in some book and I haven't seen you in forever!" Pinkie asks with a frown.
"It hasn't been THAT long." Rage said, rubbing the back of his head. Though now that he thought about it, he had been doing his translation for more than a few days. "But I guess things have been alright. Just working on a project for Celestia...and uh Twi."
"Ooo what is it?" Pinkie asks, looking at Rage with large, widened eyes.
"I guess the short version is I am helping translate a journal for Celestia." Rage answers. "It's not really that exciting..."
"Ooo!" She squeals "I know! You should take a break and come with the rest of us to Cloudsdale tomorrow!"
"Excuse me?" Rage asks.
"Yeah! Rainbow Dash is doing something with the Wonderbolts and we're going to support her!" Pinkie smiled. "Didn't Twilight tell you?"
"No..." Rage says looking down. "I mean...I didn't even think we could go up to Cloudsdale...isn't it that only the pegasi...and I guess Alicorns too for that matter...have the ability to walk on the clouds?"
"Awe I am sure Twilight will figure something out." Pinkie smiled back. "She always comes through for us."
Rage chuckled. Pinkie did have an interesting point. Twilight did seem to have this almost uncanny tendency to pull through even when things look impossible. Though the same could be said for all of The Elements of Harmony. "I suppose you're right."
"I bet you could walk on the clouds with that thing you used against Sombra!" Pinkie suggests. "You know when you had those weird ghostly wings!"
"I uh..." Rage looked at her and tilted his head as he had to think about what she was referring to. It took a minute for him to realize she meant his Super Form. "I don't just use that ability freely. It takes a toll on me..." he says, shaking his head. "Besides, who knows if it will even work."
"Awe come on!" Pinkie pouts "It's sooooo cool!"
"Pinkie..." Rage said in a serious tone "If I am not careful with that I can hurt myself...It's not for leisure use. I only use it in emergencies. I'll let Twilight figure something out."
"Awe..." Pinkie groans looking glum. "Fine."
"Look Pinkie..." Rage sighed. "It's not that I don't agree with you. It is a cool thing and all but I can't use it that long...besides if it's Rainbow Dash's special day we can't go and one up her."
Pinkie nodded. "Yeah...I guess." She says before she gasps "Oh my gosh! I have to go! I need to get these goods delivered! Sorry Rage!" she exclaims before she bolts off with a trail of dust behind her.
Rage watched as she ran off and chuckled. "She could give Sonic a run for his money." He commented to himself as he turned back to the road to the Library. It was a short walk and he made it back.
Once inside Blade appeared next to him. "You know, you could very easily hold your Super Form long enough to go to Cloudsdale." the translucent spirit dragon spoke to ihm.
"You don't actually think it'd work do you?" Rage scoffs. "I doubt it. So unless Twi has some spell or I was somehow an alicorn or pegasus there's no way I am walking on those clouds. I have no idea how in Equestria she plans to get her friends up there."
"Oh yee of little faith." Blade chuckles. "Twilight is the Element of Magic. Of course she'll find some way to make it work. It's what she does."
"I know." Rage chuckled as he looked to the space where both Dranzer's journal and his translation sat. He sighed thinking about all of the things he had been told and taught.
"Something the matter, Rage?" Blade asks, floating next to the crimson unicorn.
"Just...thinking..." Rage answers.
"About?" the spirit dragon pressed, raising an eye.
"About the others...not my friends or Mobius but the other Chaos Guardians." Rage sighs "I am supposed to do the same thing that hundreds of people once did. Somehow I have to help the Guardians of the Past who were lost in order to learn the rest of my powers...I wonder if I'll ever be enough so to speak."
"It is a heavy burden but one you must bare." Blade sighs "However I am sure you'll be able to do it. You were chosen by the Gods for a reason. They had to have seen something in you."
"Yeah." Rage scoffed. "I am sure anyone would have been just as good."
"Rage..." Blade sighs floating around to look Rage in the eyes. "You're not alone. You have me and you have your friends. Just because it's your burden doesn't mean you need to bare it alone. Be it discovering the rest of your powers or Christain..."
"I can't drag the others into that, you know that Blade." Rage sighed.
"Rage, don't shut yourself out. If they want to help you then let them." Blade grumps at the stubborn unicorn.
"I can't just willingly put them in danger!" Rage exclaims back to Blade. He hadn't noticed Twilight had come inside until she spoke up;
"Put who in danger?" She asks getting the attention of both Rage and Blade.
"Please don't throw magic at me again." Blade says as Twilight closes the distance between her and the two.
"Don't worry I won't make that mistake again." Twilight chuckled. "That one time I thought you were a real dragon going to hurt Rage...I know better now. Anyway, what are you talking about not getting people into danger?"
Rage looked at her then looked away. "I...don't want to drag you or your friends into my messes...including Christain." he states.
Twilight nodded. "Rage, I understand but we're friends and that means you shouldn't have to go at things like this alone." the lavender alicorn stated. "Let us help in any way that we can!"
Rage looked at her for a moment. Silence filled the room as Rage thought hard about what she had said. He smiled as a warm feeling overtook him. Again, he had forgotten how used to not having friends willing to help him out that he was used to solo work. This was a welcome change. "Thank you Twilight." he says with a nod. "I'll let you know later. Right now I want to try and get some more of Dranzer's journal figured out...tomorrow?"
"Alright but we're going to Cloudsdale so maybe make it after that?" Twilight asks and Rage nods.
"Sounds like a plan." Rage nods as Twilight walks the stairs to her room. "Good night." he calls after the alicorn who waved back at him as he sat with the two books and began to work on them.
