Spike was woken up early by a loud banging startled he rushed downstairs and found Rage on the ground. In his Mobian form. "Rage?!" He exclaimed, worried he had been hurt or something.

"Oh. Hi Spike." He says waving as he leapt to his feet. "Sorry if I woke you up…"

"What…are you doing?" Spike asks. He had nothing but questions now. Rage looked weird. He was acting like it was normal and like it was an everyday occurrence. "Why do you…look like that?" The dragon asks in a concerned voice.

"Oh." Rage sighed in relief "I have been up the last like three hours getting this spell down." He says "But I finally got it down, watch!" He cheered. Suddenly he has a bright red glow and next thing Spike knew he was an Alicorn again.

Next thing he knew Rage's horn glowed and he became a hedgehog again. And back. And again. And again. And again. Finally Spike exclaimed "Stop!"

The currently, crimson alicorn looked at Spike "Sorry." He apologized.

"It's great you managed to get that spell down and all but did you have to cause so much racket?" Spike complained.

"Racket?" Rage asks confused. "I haven't made that much noise have I?"

"That banging!" Spike exclaims.

"Banging?" Rage asks "I didn't hear any-" he was cut off as another loud bang or even boom sound rocked the entire library.

"That!" Spike exclaims.

Rage and Spike ran outside to see a rainbow streak in the sky. Not a cloud in sight. "Hmmm…Rainbow Dash?" Rage asks as he looks at Spike who rubs his chin.

"Maybe. But busting clouds this early?" Spike asks.

"I'll go-" Rage got ready to take off but before he could a blue streak and a rainbow streak came rushing in his direction. Both came to a hard stop at the same time.

It was Rainbow Dash and Sonic. The two of them looked at each other with focused, competitive glares. "You're too slow!" Sonic scoffs.

"Slow?! You were barely keeping up with me!" Rainbow Dash retorts.

"As if! You were clearly keeping up with me." Sonic boasts.

"So those were sonic booms that we heard…" Rage sighs looking at the two. He then looks at the early dawn horizon, a few streaks of a vibrant red were beginning to peek through the deep blues and blacks of the night sky. "You two couldn't wait until the sun was up?" He asks them.

"Oh! Rage!" Sonic exclaims as they both looked to the crimson alicorn. "Huh…" he walked over and grabbed his wing. "Those are new…"

Rage quickly swatted Sonic away with the wing and rested it along his side again. "Yeah, they are but don't try changing the topic now." Rage grumps. "You woke Spike up."

"Sorry." Rainbow Dash apologized looking at Spike. "Say, where's Twilight?"

"No clue." Spike shrugs "She left yesterday and we haven't seen her since."

"She was in a hurry. I'm actually getting a bit concerned…" Rage comments "When she left she made it sound like it wouldn't be long. I half expected that he'd be back by nightfall."

"You don't think something's happened do you?" Spike asks.

"I'm sure she's fine. Twilight would find a way to tell us if something was wrong." Rainbow Dash says.

"Why wouldn't she be?" Sonic asks. Rage got ready to answer but they were interrupted by a guard pony running up to them.

"Prince Burning Rage your-" the stallion began to speak but Rage stopped him.

"Ah, just Rage. I'm not a prince." He says sternly, giving the guard a glare.

"Apologies…force of habit…" the guard apologizes "Master Rage, your presence is requested in Canterlot post haste."

Rage sighed "Alright." He says before turning to his friends. "I guess I'll see you guys later." He sighed.

"See you soon." Sonic says with a wave as Rage took a few steps away from them and vanished in a flash of green light.

"When did he learn how to teleport?" Spike asks "Even Twilight struggles with that!"

"That was Chaos Control." Sonic says, crossing his arms.

"Chaos Control? Is that some power he has from your world?" Rainbow Dash asks.

"Yeah." The blue hedgehog nodded. "He explained why he's so good at it once but I can't remember half of what he said."

"You want to go get something to eat?" Rainbow Dash suggests.

"Oh yeah!" Sonic nods "I'm starving!"

As for Rage, he appears in the halls of Canterlot Castle. He took a second to get his bearings and sighed. "Off by a bit." He complained.

"Hey, you did good considering your limited experience with your powers in this form." Blade commented, appearing next to him as he walked down the hall.

"Yeah…" Rage nodded. "I'm worried though…"

"About?" The small, spiritual dragon asks as he rested on Rage's head.

"Twilight…if this is so urgent then why not contact me telepathically like we did that one time? Why take the time to have some guard come and fetch me?" Rage worried.

"That's a good point..." Blade says "You think something is wrong?"

"My gut says that there is." He replied as he walked the hall to the throne room. Blade vanishes when Rage reached the door and opens it with some magic.

Rage walked in and looked to see the three alicorns awaiting him; Celestia, Luna and Twilight. "Princesses?" He asks. As he spoke the three turned to face him. It was then Rage noticed something; Celestia and Luna didn't have the same sheen they usually did and Twilight seemed extremely nervous.

"That…was faster than we had anticipated…" Luna says looking to Celestia.

"What…happened to you?" Rage asks concerned as he walked up to them.

"We gave Twilight all of our magic." Celestia says in a weak voice.

"Why would you do that?!" Rage exclaims in shock.

"Calm down, let them explain." Twilight says looking to Rage. She seemed nervous or on edge too. "It's important…"

"Our investigation into what was happening in Saddle Arabia revealed something grim." Luna says "Have you heard of Tirek?"

"Tirek…?" Rage repeated the name and thought about it. He couldn't think of the name. Finally he shook his head "No I don't think I have." He says.

"Most ponies haven't." Celestia says "He was a tyrant who stole magic from most of Equestria once. Before we locked him away in Tartarus. He has returned."

"So you transferred your magic to Twilight to safeguard it?" Rage asks crossing his arms and tilting his head, trying to make sense of everything

"Correct." Celestia nods. "He doesn't know about Twilight…or you for that matter. He believes there is only three Alicorns. Not five."

"Okay…so what do you want me to do?" Rage asks. "You must have called me here for more than to just explain this to me."

"You must go into hiding along with Sonic." Celestia says "Return to Mobius if you must. Tirek must not find out about you. If he was to take your power…nothing could stop him."

"As if!" Rage protests. "With all due respect Princess Celestia, I will not abandon Equestria over some magic hungry beast."

"Rage…you must understand this is for everypony's sake. I have already ordered Sonic to return to Mobius as well." Celestia says. "I cannot fathom what Tirek could do if he gained power from your world."

"Well that's a problem, Sonic is still here." Rage says "I was with him just before I came here."

"What?!" Celestia exclaims. "You have to get him out of here! Please!"

"He won't listen to me!" Rage scoffs. "You should know he lives by his own rules."

"Rage…don't be difficult." Celestia grumps. "You're Mobian…You don't have to-"

"I Don't have to stay and protect Equestria?" Rage scoffs. "Yeah, you may have a point there. I am not from here but I made a promise to protect my friends. So I am not leaving."

"Rage…Tirek isn't like Discord or Sombra. You've said it yourself that you're not used to your alicorn body…if you were to confront him…" Luna spoke up "We have doubts…"

Rage nods "Well count us lucky I managed to figure out how change back." He smiled.

Twilight looked at Celestia and Luna before she spoke up "Maybe he and Sonic could be like…our plan B…?" Twilight asks. "You know, in case Discord fails…?"

Celestia looks at Twilight and then to Rage. She thought for a minute and sighed. "Very well…" she agrees she then stood up straight "Ragis Chaotic, should all else fail. You and Sonic have to stop him. If it comes down to it you must stop Tirek and return any magic he has stolen by any means necessary." She then sighed "Though I pray it does not come to that. Make sure nopony else knows. We don't want to start a mass panic."

"I won't let you down." He promises with a salute. He then looks at Twilight. "What do you plan to do?" He asks.

"I have to figure out how to get the last key to open that chest the Tree of Harmony made a while back…do you remember?" She asks.

"Yeah, you mentioned it but they was while I was in the Chaos Realm on one of my trips." Rage sighed.

"That's right. You were going to see…was it Leon?" Twilight asks.

"Yeah. With him back I was able to begin training with some more of my elemental skills…" Rage nodded "I will go get Sonic and we'll figure something out in the meantime. Stay safe Twi…" he says as they walked up and gave each other a friendly hug.

"You too." She says as Rage walked out of the room. Twilight looked at the door even after he left. She couldn't help but worry about everything. She looked to Celestia and Luna. "Are you going to be alright?" She asks Celestia.

"We will be fine. Go, you mustn't be here if he arrives." Celestia says. Twilight nodded and left the two princesses alone.

"Do you think they can stop him…?" Luna asks Celestia after Twilight was gone.

"Be it the Elements of Harmony or Rage and Sonic…I do." Celestia says as she got up and walked to her room. She looked out of a window where Ponyville could be seen in the distance and she was able to see a red stream flying towards it.

It was Rage, he had flown back and faster than he had before. He ended up nearly crashing into Rainbow Dash who was with Sonic by Sugar Cube Corner.

"Careful!" Sonic exclaimed as Rage skidded to a halt. He looked at the crimson Alicorn who looked at him.

"Sonic." Rage says as he used his new spell to return to his Mobian form. "Come with me. Quickly." He says grabbing the blue hedgehog's hand and rushing off.

"Hey w-" Sonic tried objecting but he was cut off by him being grabbed and Rage running off with him to a remote part of town before Sonic could break free. "Rage! What's gotten into you?! First you rush off to meet with Celestia and now you're all worked up and just ripped me away like this!" He exclaims. "What's going on?"

Rage looked at Sonic and sighed "I'm sorry I'm doing what Celestia asked." He apologized "but we can't let the others know…"

"What?" Sonic asks his tone more soft. He knew based on Rage's own tone something big was happening.

"Celestia wants you and I to go into hiding for a while. Someone by the name of Tirek is coming." Rage says "Apparently they have the power to take the power of others and if they get too powerful…"

"Nothing could stop him." Sonic says wide eyed. "So why don't we go after him now?!"

"I thought the same thing but then I realized something." Rage says turning to Sonic. "Celestia knows how powerful be can become based off taking the power of Ponies but…if he took our powers…"

Sonic's eyes widened as he realized what could happen; "He might be able to come for Mobius…" Sonic says "…and if he took the power from Mobians…he'd be truly unstoppable."

"Exactly." Rage nodded "We're supposed to go into hiding, make sure he can't learn about us and watch…if Twilight and her friends fail we're supposed to find some way to stop him!"

"Why don't you help her then?!" Sonic exclaims "Sure I could remain hidden, not too many ponies know about me. You on the other hand? Aren't you in a mosaic in Canterlot Castle from when you helped them defeat that Somber guy?"

Rage sighed "If he sees it." He says with a sigh. "I know this goes against everything you stand for…believe me I want to go and take him out the same as you but…"

"Celestia wouldn't sideline you and I if she didn't have a good reason." Sonic nods. "Alright, I'll follow your lead. What do you suggest?"

"I'm not sure yet." Rage says "We have to find a place we can stay out of the way while being able to observe what's going on."

"Gee almost makes you wish Angel Island was here." Sonic teased with a smirk. Rage looks back at him with a glare.

"Yeah." Rage chuckled "But I don't know if I could take all of Angel Island with me here using Chaos Control. Warping it around Mobius is one thing. Plus even if I could that would be like shouting; here we are Tirek come find us!"

Sonic laughed "true." He said. "But we could try the clouds. Rainbow Dash said Ponyville is supposed to have clouds the rest of the week. Even if Tirek found out about us, he'd never think to look for us on some stupid clouds."

Rage looks at Sonic in surprise "That's not a bad idea." He says. "But you'd fall right through."

"Right." Sonic sighed "I didn't think about that."

Rage looked at Sonic and tapped his chin. "Hmm…wait a minute." He says as his hand glowed. "Hold still."

"What?" Sonic asks looking at Rage. "What are you planning?!" Sonic exclaimed as Rage touched Sonic's head and with a flash of light and a surge of energy, Sonic was all of a sudden a pegasus!

"I don't believe it, it worked." Rage chuckles as Sonic glared at him.

"Rage. I feel weird. What did you do!?" Sonic shouts.

"We're going to hide in plain sight." Rage says as he turns back into an Alicorn. He then used some magic to form a mirror so Sonic could see himself.

Sonic was a blue pegasus with a sleek silvery white mane and short tail. His emerald eyes fixated on a cutie mark that looked like his shoe. "What did you do to me?!" Sonic exclaimed in shock.

"Shush." Rage says quieting him down. "It's the same spell I use. I just…tried it on you."

"And what if I'm stuck like this?!" Sonic exclaims.

"I can change you back any time." Rage sighs. "Now come on." He says as he used some conjuration magic to form a small jacket he put on to hide his wings.

"Why are you wearing that?" Sonic asks as they walked out of the alleyway they had been in.

"Because, if Tirek sees them we're done for." Rage answered before Twilight suddenly appeared.

"Oh!" She exclaimed in shock "Sorry Rage!" She sighed.

"Twilight?!" He exclaims "You alright?"

"Yeah…just all this extra magic is kinda overwhelming." Twilight chuckles "What are you doing? I thought you were supposed to find Sonic and go into hiding."

"We are." Sonic chuckled. Twilight looked at him. It took a second before she realized what was going.

"What?!" She exclaims. "Sonic?! But how?!"

"It's my magic." Rage says "Just like how I change between forms I tried it on Sonic. We're going to hide in plain sight."

Twilight nodded "Alright." She says. "Be careful…I don't even want to think what would happen if he found you…"

"We will. If you need help though…tell me." Rage says. "If anything happens we'll be right there okay?"

"Right. Thank you." She nods. "See you soon."

The three then went their own ways. Rage and Sonic to stay out of Tirek's way, and Twilight to figure out how to stop him.
