Enter the Survival Horror Chapter 1

September 2023

"Take that Miranda!" Rebecca Venganza shouts happily, as she beats Resident Evil 8 Shadows of Rose for the third time.

"Your getting better Bec." her friend Aida Tomoe said smiling.

"I know, thanks to your encouragement and help." Bec said with a smile of her own.

Bec is a girl with very long brunette hair and has an unknown blue eye color, she is twenty years old.

Aida has been a friend of hers since sixth grade. Her hair was black, styled in a pixie cut and has brown eyes, she is also the same age as Bec.

They had been working on Resident Evil 8 for the past week, learning all it's secrets and mastering it. They are big fans of the Resident Evil franchise and now have beat the game three times each, getting better at it each time.

Once the credits were done, they discuss what to do next, "Let's continue Resident Evil 8. I want to memorize more of the game." Bec said.

"Sounds good.. but we have been playing this all week. Before that is was Resident Evil 4 Remake, the reason why it took so long for us to play Village." Aida said.

They had Resident Evil 8 for awhile but had been distracted with other Resident Evil games and others, such as Samurai Warriors. They had been on a Biohazard binge for awhile, thus have been playing games related to it.

"Ok. What Biohazard game do you want to play then?" Bec asks, trying to keep disappointment from her voice.

Aida pretends she didn't hear the disappointment, "How about Resident Evil 0? We haven't played that in a while." she asks.

"Sure, let's kick Marcus's butt again." Bec said.

As they get the game ready on the PS4, Aida asks, "Say Bec what do you want to be in your life?"

Bec is surprised Aida asked that question out of the blue. "I.. I'm still unsure. I would like to be in the entertainment industry, but learning something academic would be just as nice." Bec said nervously.

"True, especially if something would happen. There's nothing wrong with a back up career, but you sound like your not sure." Aida said, looking at Bec as she said the last few words.

Bec sighs, "Cause I'm not."

Bec has a number of hobbies and activities she loves to do, especially music. The reason that she let's herself be unsure is because of her parents, her father is a lawyer and a small business man and her mother is an accountant and a stay at home wife.

She believes that if she told her parents that she would want a career in the music industry, they would be filled with disappointment.

Aida is aware of this, "Bec, your overthinking things with your parents. They have supported you in everything you've been doing. Martial arts, sports, you name it. I said so earlier, you can have a back up career and use it when you've retired or when your not working the main job." she tells her.

They both are in college, taking courses online, Aida wanted to be a video game designer.

"True.. Can we talk about this another time?" Bec asks Aida to drop it.

"Fine." Aida agrees.

Once the title came on, Aida hums a little tune in excitement. "I'll see Wesker." she sang. He was her favorite character.

"Yeah." Bec said dully.

"We can play the remake after we're done with this." Aida said, going over the options and picking the hardest level of the game.

Bec's favorite character is Chris Redfield, the poster boy of the series.

"Sounds fair." Bec said happily.

"Say Bec what do you think of actually being apart of the games?" Aida asks, putting down the controller.

"Hard to say.. I would love to meet the heroes of Biohazard, but then we have the villains to deal with.. so I'm not sure it would be fun but it would be adventurous. I would love to explore." Bec said.

Aida gets up, "I'll go and get us some snacks at the store." she said grabbing her purse.

"Really we're out?" Bec asks in surprise.

"Yeah, I checked earlier and Mom won't be back until later." Aida said heading for the door.

"Go ahead and play, I'll be back." she said shutting the door

They we're in Aida's house, in her room to play video games. Bec was about to pick up the controller when something like lighting flash but it was in the room.

"What in the?" Bec questions out loud, when it happens again.

"Ah!" Bec shouts in fear, when it happens for a third time.

When the light vanished this time, the room was empty.

Arklay Mountains July 23rd Night

"Hey.. Hey! Wake up!" a girl's voice said. Someone is shaking her, Bec groans.

"Come on, I need you up." the voice said again.

Bec opens her eyes and stares in shock. She sees Rebecca Chambers of STARS Bravo team. "Good, your awake. Do you know what happened here?" Rebecca asks her.

Bec looks around from where Rebecca is holding her and sees that they are on a train. 'No, not just any train. It's the Ecliptic Express.' Bec realizes that she is on a train that contains nightmares.

"What happened here?" Rebecca repeats her question.

"... I don't know." Bec lies. She feels awful for it, but doesn't know how to explain the events without her thinking she is crazy.

"I came here.. To get away from the rain, but I was so exhausted that I must've fallen asleep." Bec tells her, but Rebecca gives her a look.

"The Arklay mountains have been a no go zone for weeks, due to the cannibal killings. Not to mention, your outfit isn't made for hiking. Why did you come here?" Rebecca asks her like she is a child.

Bec turns red in embarrassment, "I-" she goes silent not wanting to lie anymore. 'That's right. What is zombies eating the living, is called the cannibal killers at this time. It's all over the area where the Arklay mountains are. Rebecca is right to be suspicious of me.'

Bec is wearing a light yellow puffed sleeve shirt with pink flowers on it, a pink croft skirt with matching flowers, a stylish belt that has the same flower, and pink slip-ons, also with the same flower. Her hair is in a loose bun on the right side of her head, with the fake pink flowers.

'Not to mention, she just got on board. She must not have seen the zombies yet.' Bec finishes her thoughts.

Rebecca sighs, "Ok I'll ask you again later. Come on let's get up." she says.

They get into standing positions, Rebecca brings out her radio. "Hello? Captain Martini? Anyone?" she calls into the radio, there is nothing but static.

"Great, somethings wrong with the radio." Rebecca said, putting it away and brings out her gun.

"You'll have to stay with me, until I get back in contact with the others of my team." she says as she readies her gun.

"Let's go." Rebecca said going over to the door that leads into the second passenger car.

Bec is hesitate, knowing what is going to happen. "Come on, I'm not leaving you here." Rebecca said, when she sees Bec hasn't moved. Bec reluctantly follows her to the next car.

As they head in they hear voices, "Hello? This is officer Chambers of the STARS Bavo team. Please identify yourself." Rebecca said.

They both gasp as they see a corpse with some wounds on it, but the voices continue.

"Wait, it's a radio." Bec said pointing down, near the corpse that's in a seat.

Rebecca edges around the corpse, grabs the radio to turn it off, Bec stays close to her and the corpse comes alive.

The zombie moans, Rebecca grabs Bec and is about to run to the door by the stairs when they see two more zombies heading their way.

"Get down!" Rebecca pushes Bec to the ground and starts shooting at the zombies. She uses a lot of bullets but all three are taken down, though they did try to get back up once.

"W-What the hell? I thought they were dead." Rebecca said confused and nervous.

Bec slowly gets up, 'This.. this is no dream.' she realizes as she stares at the now dead zombies.

Some part of Bec believed she was having a dream but the action taking place proves she's not.

"Miss.. are you sure you don't know what's going on?" Rebecca asks her again, once her shock is over.

"No." Bec had to lie about this at the very least, she did not think Rebecca would believe her.

".. Ok. Whatever is going on isn't a standard operation. Here." Rebecca hands Bec her second gun.

Bec takes it hesitantly, "Are you sure?" she asks.

"Yes, if we happen to find more of them, you need to defend yourself. I'll take the disciplinary action in stride." Rebecca said. She was talking about giving a civilian her gun.

She then gives Bec a few pointers about using a gun. "Thank you officer Chambers." Bec was grateful for her advice.

"Please call me Rebecca for now. What is your name?" Rebecca asks her.

"My name is Rebecca Venganza, but I prefer to be called Bec." she tells her.

"Ok Bec let's go to the next car and be careful. Aside from the cannibal killers, there is a convict named Billy Coen in the area." Rebecca tells her.

They head into the next car, Bec looks out the window and sees a torrential down pour.

"Here's another door." Rebecca said, opening the door to cabin 202.

When they get inside, they see a corpse on the lower bunk an two shiny things. Rebecca grabs them, they were magnum revolvers.

Bec is surprised, then she remembers that Aida put the games on the hardest setting with all the unlockables, but no infinite ammo.

Bec then climbs up the ladder leading to the top bunk, startling Rebecca with her actions, and finds one machine gun magazine.

As she brings them down with her, she thinks, 'There is only one of this, compared the ammo we've found so far...Why is there two of every weapon here?'

When Rebecca sees what Bec has, once she gets off the ladder, ".. How did you know that was there?" she asks.

"I saw something as I looked up." Bec lies again. 'It's not like I can tell her I saw them in a game. I can't be so obvious next time.'

They check over the cabin when Bec 'finds' a dairy. "Hey, Rebecca! I think I've found something." she said, showing her the dairy.

They read it together.

July 14th

Orders came from the boss today.

Looks like we're in charge of investigating the remains of the Arkley Mountains laboratory.

We're moving in two groups. The initial group is assigned to start checking what's left of the abandoned experiment.

July 16th

Unfortunately, the test production of B.O.W. (Type-Y139) had to be suspended because of this investigation.

It's the same with Type-Y139. There's still so much we don't know about responses to the crustacean t-virus. There's a lot of interesting research left...

Depending on the species and nurturing conditions, only minute doses of "T" bring about remarkable changes in solidity, size, multiplication of internal toxins, and brain development. If these effects can be controlled, a powerful weapon could be produced.

But the sudden development of the shell results in a corresponding fragility. Certain areas become exceedingly weak.

Problematically, one of these areas is the head carapace.

This lab we are going to - were they pursuing the same research? It would certainly help to find data and samples that would help us in our research.

June 19th

The day is finally approaching... I am growing more anxious.

The Raccoon City newspapers and TV stations are full of reports about the bizarre murders in the suburbs.

It can't be the virus. Can it? If it is...

No. I can't think of that now. I have to concentrate on the investigation and make sure it goes smoothly.

Once they were done, Bec asks, "So.. a virus escaped? What kind of virus makes a body come back from the dead?"

"We don't know if that is what he meant, but looking at this. They seemed to have been doing illegal experimentation." Rebecca said.

"What about where they were heading?" Bec asks.

"I'm not sure... I never heard of labs being in the mountains before." Rebecca said.

"Let's go to the next cabin." Rebecca says as they leave the room.

When they enter the next cabin, just luggage was in this room, they search it to find an herb and a paper that has blood on it.

It said:

Investigation Orders

8 miles north of Raccoon City, in the Arkley Mountains, lies our comp ny's Management training facility. It was shut down years ag .

Now, w are conducting a preliminary tudy into the re-opening of the faci ities.

First Investigation Unit is alre dy on-site and opening th investi ation, I want yo r team to provide suppo t.

The following orders re Will m Bark and 1s I ves gat o Un t.

"So.. there's more than labs out here?" Bec asks aloud, already knowing the answer.

"It would appear to be so, there's a management training facility. If I'm reading this right, they were planning to reopen it for some reason. However I can't make out the other sentences, its torn." Rebecca said confused.

"What should we do about this herb?" Bec asks, holding it.

"Let me see that." Rebecca said grabbing it. She makes quick work on turning it into powder.

"This herb only grows here in the Arklay mountains. It as amazing medical effects when your injured." Rebecca said, pocketing it when she's done.

Bec then takes notice of something strange, there was backpack in this room. It was made of brown leather, and quite roomy. She checks it over and sees nothing gross on it, takes it.

"You sure you want that?" Rebecca asks.

"Yeah, it should be fine." Bec said, taking the notes they've found and putting them inside as well as the magnum and ammo they can't use.

'Though this was never in the game.. I wonder why it is here. The virus can only infect people if they get into contact with the infected, this bag shows no sign of that.' Bec keeps her thoughts to herself.

They leave the room, heading further down the hall, first taking a right then a left, before Rebecca tries to open the door on their left that read; conductors office. It was locked, "Hopefully, we don't need the key." Rebecca said.

'We do need the key.' Bec keeps that thought to herself.

They round the corner to find another dead body, it looks like it's been through the ringer. Rebecca gets down on one knee and looks it over before spying something in it's hand. Bec was waiting for Billy to make his appearance.

Despite Billy's marine training, Bec could hear his footsteps coming from behind her. Rebecca grabs the key, just as Billy points his gun at Bec. Rebecca turns slowly as she realizes they were no longer alone.

"Slowly." Billy said to Rebecca, his gun still on Bec.

Rebecca gets up slowly and turns around to face him. "Billy.. Lieutenant Coen." she said once she got a good look at him.

"So, you seem to know me." Billy said, not lowering his gun.

"Been fantasizing about me, have you?" Billy flirts with her. Bec hides her smile.

Rebecca was not amused, "You were the prisoner that was being transferred for execution." she said.

"You were with those soldiers outside." she finishes.

Billy then looks over Rebecca, taking in her uniform, "I see. You're with STARS." he said.

"Well, no offense, honey, but your kind doesn't seem to want me around." he said, but does not lower his gun.

"All right young lady, turn around." he then talks to Bec.

Bec slowly turns around, while she was a marital artist, she had no interest in hurting him.

Billy looks her over, "A civilian? Looks like you got your hands full as it is."

"This chat of ours is over." Billy said finally holstering his gun.

He then turns the corner but Rebecca goes after him, "Wait!" she said.

"Your under arrest." Rebecca said stopping, Bec follows behind her.

Billy stopped when she said that but, "No thanks, doll face." he said.

He holds up his left arm, "I've already worn handcuffs." he said, showing them off.

As he was leaving, Rebecca calls after him, "I could shoot you know!"

They don't get a reply, Rebecca sighs as she turns around to face Bec. "Say Rebecca, how long have you've been in STARS?" Bec asks her, she already knows this.

"About a month now. So I'm not surprised that Billy didn't take me seriously." Rebecca said frustrated.

Then the windows break behind her, they look and see someone under the window he just crashed into.

"Edward!" Rebecca recognizes him, goes over to him, with Bec following her.

Edward was in bad shape, he had bite marks from the Cerberus dogs on his right leg and both of his shoulders. There was also a wound on his right temple.

"Are you all right?" Bec asks despite knowing he wasn't.

"What happened?" Rebecca then asks.

"It's worse than.." he tries to say but stops.

Edward looks at Rebecca disoriented. "We can't.." he doesn't finish.

He then looks down, "Rebecca, can the herb we found heal him?" Bec asks.

"No, we would need more than one and I'm not sure that it would help him in his state." Rebecca said looking over Edward's damaged body.

".. You must be careful Rebecca. You and this other young lady. This forest is full of... zombies.. and monsters." Edward was able to get out as he looks at them.

"Zombies and monsters?" Rebecca questions aloud.

Edward then gives a pained gasp before dying right before their eyes. Bec gasps in horror at seeing him die for real and in front of her.

Then another window busts open above, surprising the two. Bec had let it slip her mind about the mutated dogs, too occupied with Edward. She and Rebecca quickly get up, with Rebecca shooting her gun at it, three times.

Once it was dead, another one bursts through the window, Bec then shoots at it five times, she missed twice.

It was dead, she and Rebecca share a look. "Edward is right. Something is very wrong here. The people who were aboard this train might've known something about it." Bec said.

"Yeah." Rebecca said sadly going back over to Edward and grabs some ammo that he had.

"Edward, I'm sorry but I'll have to leave you here." she tells his unbreathing body.

Bec bites her lip, she knows Edward will return as a zombie later, but if she shoots at his head now, he won't be an issue. However if she did that now, Rebecca will be suspicious as to why she did that.

"..You were close?" Bec asks the question she already knew, for lack of anything else.

"Yes, he and I did rear security together. He was a good man." Rebecca said walking back over to her.

".. I only know about zombies from the movies, shoot at their heads and they go down. Do you think that it might help?" Bec asks.

".. It might. The key I found unlocks the dining car. Let's head back the way we came for now. I took notice that the next car needs a card to unlock it." Rebecca said.

She help Bec put fresh ammo in her gun and they head to the second passenger car. They see two zombies moving, Rebecca shoots at one while Bec shoots the other one.

They take three hits in the head each, though they miss once or twice.

Once the bodies were down, they lower their guns. "Bec.. We're going to have to be careful about ammo." Rebecca said.

"I understand." Bec replies.

As they make their way across the room, one of the zombies had been playing possum on them and grabs Bec by her ankle.

Bec screamed and jerks her foot away from it, but she loses her balance and falls on her face. Rebecca shoots at the zombie's head killing it for sure.

"Are you all-?" Rebecca was about to ask her something, but stops.

Bec slowly raises her upper half and is confused as to why Rebecca is quiet, when she realizes that her skirt had flipped up. Her light yellow panties were on display.

Bec reaches back, brushes down her skirt to cover herself and gets back on her feet. "Don't. Say. A. Word." Bec said serious.

Rebecca wisely stays quiet.

They continue on, back to the car where they first met. When the were halfway through, a sound comes from Rebecca's radio.

Rebecca grabs it and speaks into it, "This is Rebecca. Over."

"Rebecca? Can you hear me?" a voice asks.

"This is Enrico. What's your location? Over." Enrico asks.

Rebecca presses some buttons, then speaks into the radio, "Enrico! Hello! Can you read me? Please respond."

"Rebecca, I can hear you. Now listen up." Enrico orders.

"We've obtained detailed information on the fugitive from a document found in the wrecked wagon." Enrico says.

"Billy Coen killed as many as twenty-three people. Over." he finishes saying.

Rebecca is shocked, "Twenty-three people?" she questions aloud.

"We have also confirmed he was institutionalized. So keep your guard up." Enrico said.

Bec remains silent through the conversation, even though she knows that Enrico is telling falsified information. Which even he doesn't know the information is fake.

She may know that Billy is innocent, but if she were to say anything, she would have to have proof or she wouldn't be believed. Sadly there's nothing that can prove Billy's innocence right now.

'It's my word against the military.' Bec thinks bitterly.

Then something surprising happens, "Where's your location, Rebecca? Over." Enrico asks.

Rebecca snaps out of her shock, "We are on a train. I think it's called the Ecliptic Express. Over." she says into the radio.

"A train? In the forest? As far as I know, all train lines that were in the forest were decommissioned back in the 80's. You have to go around the mountains, if you go by train anymore." Enrico said.

"You said, 'We'. Did Edward reunite with you? Over." Enrico asks, sounding hopeful.

"Yes and no. He was alive when he got onboard, but the injures he sustained took his life. Over." Rebecca informs him sadly.

"Damn! When he separated from us, after we were attacked by a pack of mutated dogs and zombies, I thought he might make it." Enrico said disappointed.

"So who's with you? Over." he then asks her.

"A young woman named Rebecca Venganaz. Over." Rebecca tells him.

"A civilian? Way out here? What was she doing? Over." Enrico asks.

"She didn't tell me, but it wasn't for hiking or camping. Over." Rebecca said, looking at her.

"What the hell? This isn't some kind of game, the mountains were closed off to the public for a reason. While this is turning out to be more darker than we all thought, no civilian is suppose to be here for their safety." Enrico said.

Bec was not happy with the way Enrico was talking about her. She didn't mean to come here and she knows that this is no game.

"All right, Rebecca, keep her safe as well as yourself. Coen won't think twice about shooting you both, so remember to stay alert." Enrico said.

"We're at - Hello? -Rebecca - can - you read me?-" Enrico tries to say something, but the connection starts to break.

"Hello? Captain! Are you there?!" Rebecca asks, but the connection cuts. Rebecca fiddles with the radio but the connection does not come back.

"Damn!" Rebecca puts away the radio. She then looks at back at Bec.

"Enrico is right about one thing. Why are you out here? Were you a passenger on this train?" Rebecca asks her firmly.

"No, I was not a passenger. I'm telling the truth." Bec said.

"Then why are you here?" Rebecca once more interrogates her.

"I- I can't tell you." Bec said looking away.

"Why not?" Rebecca asks, not giving up this time.

"You won't believe me even if I told you." Bec said, still not looking at her. She was done with lying.

Rebecca stares at her for a moment before sighing. "All right." she starts, "I'll lay off, but when we rendezvous with my team, you better give a explanation to my captain, as to why your out here."

"I understand." Bec says.

"But I don't think Billy is as bad as the papers say." Bec said, turning to look at her.

"How can you say that? Enrico saw the documents, there is no way he's lying!" Rebecca said, with a frown.

"No, I'm not saying that. What I'm saying is, if he's as bad as the papers say, then why didn't he blow our heads off when he had the chance?" Bec asks, looking directly at her.

Rebecca is silent.

"There is something called 'character'. I think Billy's actions speak for themselves. He's not what the papers say." Bec said, not looking away.

Rebecca sighs, "We'll talk about this later, let's continue to the dining car."

An uncomfortable silent falls between them as they head for the door. Rebecca unlocks the door leading to the dining and they head in.

They see two ways for them to go; upstairs or through a door. As Rebecca checks out the door in front of them and discovers that it is locked, the door behind them opens.

They turn and see Billy just as he closes the door.

"It's gonna be dangerous from here on in. Why don't we cooperate?" he asks them.

Bec was all for that, but Rebecca is another story. "Cooperate with you?" she asks him skeptically.

"Listen, little girls." he said.

"In case you haven't notice there are some pretty freaked out things on this train and I for one want to get out of here." he said as he climbs a couple of steps.

"I don't think we stand a chance doing it separately." he finishes as he leans on the rail.

"You expect us to trust you?" Rebecca asks.

"A wanted felon? We don't need your help. I can protect us just fine. And don't call me little girl." Rebecca says stubbornly, pointing her finger at him.

"Alright Miss do-it-yourself." he said playfully flicking her head.

"What should I call you?" he asks.

"My name is Rebecca Chambers. It's officer Chambers for you." she tells him.

Bec sighs at Rebecca, it seems her words haven't reached her.

"Oh, don't you start Bec." Rebecca said, turning to her.

"Billy is right though, we should take his offer." Bec tells her.

"No." Rebecca tells her firmly.

"You seem to like the idea princess?" Billy asks her.

"Yes. Though if you call me princess again, I'll give you a once over." Bec said, unamused.

"What's your name then?" he asks, sounding amused.

"Rebecca Venganza, though please call me Bec. I prefer it like that and to avoid confusion." she meant Rebecca having the same name.

"That's enough. We're moving on." Rebecca said, by that she meant her and Bec.

"All right then, Rebecca." Billy said as he descends the stairs.

"Why don't you two go on ahead and try, while I wait here?" he asks, leaning against the door.

Rebecca looked like she wanted to pound him, but stopped herself.

"Say Rebecca, I found this note." Bec said, showing it to her.

They read it:

Notice to Supervisors

When closing the dining car, supervisors are asked to switch off the automatic doors after ensuring all staff have vacated the car.

The main automatic door power switch is located on the roof of the fifth car.

Inspections will take place when the train is garaged.

After inspections are complete, use the ladder at the rear of the second floor of the dining car.

Umbrella Corp. Maintenance Department

"Umbrella?" Rebecca whispers, once she's done reading it.

"Something the matter?" Bec asks, knowing what it is.

".. Later, let's take the stairs now that we know the door in here won't open yet." she said.

Bec follows her up the stairs, nervous for what is about to happen.

When they get to the restaurant car, they see an old man by a table that is on fire. Since he looks normal from where they can see him, Rebecca moves foreword to check on him, but Bec grabs her by the arm.

"Something's wrong. With everything going on, there's little to no chance that he's alive." Bec tells her.

"But what if he is? I have to check. Stay here and wait." Rebecca said shrugging off her arm.

She goes over to the body, cautiously, "Excuse me. Sir?" she questions, but there is no reply.

"Sir?" she asks again as she touches his shoulder, shaking him a little.

When she did that, his head twists till it falls off, this makes Rebecca move away and gasp in surprise.

Then his body starts dissolving in front of them, causing Rebecca to scream and Bec to gasp as she sees this.

The body becomes leeches, before forming again to an almost similar shape to what they saw before.

It then moves towards them, Rebecca runs to where Bec is, and Bec shoots at it with her gun. Rebecca joins her once she gets far enough from it.

They fire several shots at it, with it smacking them with a makeshift tentacle once, before finally it becomes leeches again. Bec had gasped at the pain she felt on her shoulder.

The leeches go towards Bec and Rebecca. Bec shot at them with her gun, but Rebecca was not has fortunate, they climb on her.

Rebecca screams as they get on and climb over her body. Bec points her gun at the leeches but fears that she may hit Rebecca by mistake.

Then Billy shows up, shooting at the leeches. This makes them stop, and Rebecca is free.

A couple of them try to go for Billy, but Billy moves aside and shoots at the ones that came after him, killing them.

As he lands on the floor, the rest of the leeches retreat. Once the threat is gone, Bec goes over to Rebecca to check on her.

Rebecca is breathing heavily, after nearly suffocating when the leeches cut off her airway, and is on the ground.

Making sure the leeches were gone Billy checks on Rebecca. "Are you ok?" he asks, squatting down to her level.

Rebecca gives him a thumbs up as Bec checks her over. "Good, no lasting damage." Bec said relieved, as she is on her knees.

Bec then freezes as she hears singing, Billy and Rebecca become confused as to why someone is singing.

Bec gets up and looks out the window to see the Queen Leech in it's human form, as lighting flashes. The leeches that escaped attached themselves to him, at the sound of his voice. He stops and seemingly stares at them, as if he knows where they are.

"Who is that guy?" Billy asks, as he and Rebecca, they both were standing now, looked out the window as well.

Bec knows who and what it is, but can't say anything at this time.

Then the train jerks startling all three of them, it then moves.

"What's going on? Who's controlling the train?" Rebecca asks out loud.

'USS has made their move.' Bec remembers this part.

"Go and check out the first engine car." Billy said.

"We can't, it requires a card to unlock the door." Bec said.

"She's right. We'll see if we can't get the power back on for downstairs. With luck, it might be there." Rebecca said.

Both Bec and Rebecca move to the back when Billy spoke again, "Hey!"

They look back at him, "We've gotta cooperate with each other from now on. You got that?" he said sternly, he was mainly talking to Rebecca.

Rebecca was still unsure, "Well I don'-" she tries to speak, when Bec interrupts her.

"Rebecca, please, enough is enough. None of us will make it, if all we do is argue." Bec said firmly.

Rebecca looks at her, before turning back to look at Billy. "Fine, but understand this. I will shoot you if you do anything funny." she tells him.

"Fine. Here, take these." he said tossing some ammo at Rebecca, who catches it.

Billy empties out his gun as he says, "If you two find anything call me, all right? If not, I'll follow you shortly."

Rebecca grabs her radio and nods her head at him. "Let's go Bec. Your staying with me." she said. They head to the back to find the ladder.

"Because of the rain, it will be slippery- Bec?!" Rebecca said in alarm.

Bec has already reached the ladder and starts climbing up it, she does this with confidence and firmness.

Rebecca follows after her, once they were both on top of the car, they slowly makes their way to the other side of the car, fighting the wind and rain.

Rebecca keeps an eye on Bec just in case she slips, but her movements show that she knows what she's doing.

Once they get to the other side, they find the power box as well as a hole in front of it, but it has a broken cable. Rebecca whips out some rubber gloves from her med pack.

When they were on her hands, she grabs the severed cable and reconnects it. The door by the stairs should now be unlocked.

Rebecca puts it back when leeches seem to form from out of nowhere. They lunge at her causing her to back up in surprise and scream when they briefly touch her. This made her fall into the hole.

The leeches than turn their attention to Bec, she shoots at them, making sure not to lose her balance. They retreat, and she hears Rebecca, "Bec! Come down!"

She hops down, making sure Rebecca is out of the way and putting her hands on her skirt to stop it from flipping up. "Are you all right?" Rebecca asks, taking her out of the rain and checking her over for injuries.

"Yes." Bec said, shivering. Her outfit was not made for the weather outside. Rebecca was able to find some towels and helps dry her off.

"Say Bec, how did you know what to do about the ladder and roof?" Rebecca asks, once Bec was dried off as much as possible.

"I have taken classes in survival. I was told that when the weather is against you, go with it with calmness and use your head. It was something that I had practiced." Bec said, holding one towel around her.

"I see." Rebecca said, removing the rubber gloves. A knock is heard on the door.

"Hey!" it was Billy, "You two all right? I heard you talking."

"We're fine, just drowned." Bec answers, but Rebecca could see that she was trembling sightly.

"Did you find anything?" Bec asks her.

"No, I waited for you." she said, before turning her attention to the room.

She finds an green herb, she makes it into powder, then ammo and going over to the door to unlock it, she finds a key on the window ledge.

Rebecca reads the label, "This key can unlock the conductor's office!" she said excitedly.

She tries the door then after pocketing the key but it wouldn't open.

"Something's stuck inside of it. The knob won't turn because of it." she said frustrated.

"Billy are you still there?" she asks through the door.

"Yeah." he said.

"The door is jammed from our side, do you have anything sharp that can help us?" Rebecca asks.

"I have a knife, but I don't think it would fit." he answers.

"I'm afraid your right. Can you check the rest of the dining car? I was able to get the power back on. Maybe there's something there that can help. If not try the second passenger car second floor." she said.

"Oh! Before I forget, we found the key that can unlock the conductor's office. There's a service lift in here, I'll send it down that way, since the windows in here can't open." Rebecca said.

"All right, I'll go check it out. Send ammo down too. I can't say what I'll encounter." Billy said and they heard nothing more. Rebecca puts the key into the lift and sends in down to the dining car.

Rebecca then turns back to Bec, who is still shivering due to her wet clothes.

"Bec.. Are you sure your fine?" she asks as she gets near her.

"Yes.." Bec said.

".. If you need to talk, now is good. I'm a medic." Rebecca offers.

"Thanks but I'll be ok." Bec replies not looking at her.

Silence.

Rebecca breaks it, "Say Bec.. You were right earlier." she said. This makes Bec look at her.

"Billy is not what the papers say he is, at least not all of it." Rebecca continues to say.

"He would have left us to die by now, had he been heartless. Or killed us, himself." she said.

"But, he was involved with a massacre somehow. I can't say if he's truly innocent." Rebecca finishes.

Bec says nothing, knowing that if she said too much, Billy and Rebecca would realize that she knows more than she's letting on. Which in turn will make them suspicious and have unwanted complications.

The service lift came back up, Rebecca puts all the ammo on it and sends it back down.

"Bec, while we're waiting, I'll tend to our wounds." Rebecca said, reaching for Bec and applies some herbs where she had been hit, by the mimicry. Bec is lost in her thoughts.

'Why me?' Bec is becoming overwhelmed with what is happening, but knows she can't lose it or she won't get out alive.

Billy had gone down stairs to check the rest of the dining car. He looks over the kitchen part but doesn't see anything that can be of use.

He takes note of the access panel, sees it needs a tool.

He finds the service lift, he opens it to find the key. 'The service lift can still be useful. Just in case I have the wrong tool, I don't have to go back and forth with the ladder.' are his thoughts as he grabs the key.

He sends it back up, waits till Rebecca sends it back and grabs the ammo.

He then heads for the second passenger car, going up the stairs. He finds an red herb and takes it. 'Maybe one of the girls can make use of this.' he thinks pocketing it.

He then looks to his left and sees, to his disgust, that there are eggs. There were a lot of them and he had a feeling as to what kind of eggs they were.

'They're blocking the way and I can't waste bullets on what is not a real threat, right now.' Billy had seen enough in his time as to know when to attack and when to retreat.

He goes back downstairs, and heads for the conductor's office. He unlocks it and heads in.

He sees a train map, which he grabs to give him and the girls an idea as to where they've been and how long the train is.

"Good it's not long, just seven cars." Bill said pleased.

He turns and sees a note on the ground, he picks it up and reads it.

Note from Conductor

The key card for the Driver's Compartment is in my bag as always.

But I need the other guy's key too to open the damn thing.

But, it looks like I've lost it somewhere.

If it was a normal key, someone would be sure to turn it in, but this key is different...

I'll look for it too, but if you happen to find it, please hand it in.

Thanks in advance.

"Great, a scavenger hunt." he said, not happy.

He sees a switch by the door, hits it and a ladder forms leading back upstairs.

Before he heads up, he checks out two herbs, a red one and a green one.

'Somehow these herbs remind me of the girls, both have the same name yet are different.' Billy thinks of Bec and Rebecca.

'Rebecca, she is the type who's fresh at what she's doing. I would know because I was a rookie myself once.' it was one of the reasons why he flicked her, back at the dining car.

'Bec.. she is a harder one to figure out... Though now that I think about it.. She didn't regard me with fear or contempt in any of our meetings. But surely she was informed of my status as a traitor. Not to mention, what is she doing here?' Billy thinks about Bec and the interactions he had with her.

'Everyone on board the train was in some kind of business or business causal, at least on the zombies and bodies that have been seen. Bec, however is wearing informal clothes, so she isn't a passenger.. Then why is she up in the mountains?' Billy is wondering about Bec.

'Maybe I'm over thinking things. I'll leave these herbs for now, I don't know how to use them.' Billy gets back to what he was doing, freeing the girls.

He checks the closet and finds the briefcase mentioned in the note, but can't open it at this time. So he heads towards the ladder and climbs up, entering the bar lounge.

As he is about to cross the room, he hears a strange hissing sound. He looks around but doesn't see anything.

He crosses the room and heads back to the second floor of the passenger car. He looks to a cart and sees an ice pick.

'Surely this can help.' Billy glad he found something to help, as he grabs it.

He decides to see what else he can find before he heads back to the girls. He heads down the hall before entering cabin 101. He searches it to find handgun bullets, shotgun bullets and two shotguns, he grabs all of them expect one shotgun. There is first aid spray in the room, but he has no room for it.

'Me or the girls will get the rest later.' he thinks as he leaves for the bar lounge.

He enters the bar and as he was making his way across, the chandelier at the end falls from the ceiling, crashing into a million pieces.

Then two sharp pincers pierce the ceiling, the roof is ripped away and in front of Billy was a huge scorpion.

"What the hell?!" Billy shouts in shock, pointing his gun at it.

It starts to come towards him, windows breaking as it's tail moves, he shoots hitting it's claws, but little damage is done. He then hits the face, causing it to shriek in pain.

"Ok, head it is." he said, pointing his gun at it again and fires.

'I'll stick to handgun ammo, I have a lot of it.' Billy keeps firing at the head with his handgun.

He got several bullets into it, but at one point it got a lucky strike. Billy gasped in pain but continued to fire at it's head, being more careful.

Then finally it gave out a dying cry, before collapsing to the ground, still.

"What happened? Where did this creature come from anyway?" Billy wonders.

"Never mind, I better get back and let them know there are bigger monsters.. wait what's that?" Billy sees something where the monster appeared, the wind whipping around the area.

He goes over to the object, it was a tool. 'Wait this tool can open the access panel in the kitchen. Later, back to the girls.' he takes the panel opener before leaving.
