The story takes place after the thriller barks events however Zoro doesn't wake up anytime soon, he spends weeks asleep in chopper's office, Sanji find himself going there at night.

For now this story is going to be mostly fluff but some smut will eventually come.

...

Sanji was in his kitchen, finishing to dry the dishes. He sighed, cleaning those dishes without the green headed idiot sucked. It was kind of painful not to have him snoring somewhere on the kitchen floor. He hated it. He would never admit it, hell he didn't even understood why he was feeling this way. Most of the day he tried not to think about it. As he finished with the dishes he took the plate of food he had hidden away from Luffy.

His new night routine started. Well it wasn't really new, it started right when they got back on the Sunny. Zoro was carried by Franky in Chopper's office so he could be in a peaceful place and be cared for by the doctor Every night, except those where he was on night-watch he sneaked out of the cabin or his kitchen. He silently headed to the doctor's office, at first he just sat quietly by Zoro. Watching him sleep.

On the first few nights he thought it was guilt that brought him there. His stupid rival sacrificed himself for Luffy, for the crew and didn't let him help. Every night he brought food, even though Chopper had put a feeding tube so Zoro could be fed while in his comatose state.

Chopper said that he was probably going to stay asleep for a few weeks. Despite that Sanji hoped the swordsman would rip the tube out of his nose and ask for booze. No one noticed the chef's little night trip, he left without being seen and got back the same way. Or at least he thought he was good at being sneaky.

A week after being back on the ship, he started talking to Zoro, at first he was mad, calling him names, infuriated by the "stupid crap he pulled up". After that stage he just told him what happened everyday on the boat. Usopp new lies that got stars in Chopper's eyes. Robin who was reading her book and casually saying quite frightening things, before going back to her book. How luffy found the food he had cooked for the swordsman and that he had to cook another batch of onigiri. Nami beat the crap out of Luffy for that. Franky who worked on the ship and secretly mooned over Robin whenever he got the chance. The newcomer Brooke with his violin and all his skeleton jokes.

One time he noticed a frown of discomfort running across Mosshead's face. Before he realized it one of his palm was resting on the man's chest. His face slowly relaxed at his contact, Sanji's heart started to pound in his chest, his hand felt like it was burning from the touch. Consciously or unconsciously he decided not to take out his hand. The thought of Zoro feeling uneasy was weirdly too much to handle. At the same time Sanji couldn't comprehend what was happening to him. However he just stayed still for a few minutes then started talking again. This kept on going every night to a point where the first thing he did after sitting down was to lay his hand on the swordsman's chest. Another night he caught himself running his hand through Zoro's mossy hair as he was talking. He stayed silent for a few minutes, thinking to himself or at least believing that he was thinking when in fact he was whispering.

"- I wish he'd wake up soon...not that I'm missing him or his stupid snoring in my kitchen. It's just for the crew...just for the whole crew.."

During those few weeks he didn't sleep much, sometimes falling asleep as he was laying against the wooden wall. Some times to times he would wake up, his head on the arm that was brushing Zoro's hair.

During tonight's visit he had fallen into a deep sleep. As his eyes fluttered open he realized the sun was way more up than usual. Panicking at the idea to be found here he rapidly got up, not hearing Zoro groaned as he was getting away from his touch. He quietly opened the door hoping not to encounter anyone as he was leaving. Hopefully he reached the bathroom and quickly got into it, so his nakama wouldn't find out where he was. As the cook got in the bathroom his heart was going to explode, a part of his brain was questioning everything about this situation.

He tried to reason himself mostly by paying attention to the part of himself that thought of being found there. And way more less about why he spent all this time there and how that made him feel. He avoided all the thoughts about Zoro. Trying to ignore the fact that he kind of missed the man, the way his heart pounded in his chest when his hand reached the sleeping swordsman. He vigorously tried to ignore the dream he had that night.

They were having their usual five hour fight of the day when he made an error and fell, immediately Zoro pinned him down. The swordsman was over him, keeping his hands against the floor.

The bastard was so close he could feel Zoro's breath brushing his lips. His heart pounded so hard, his face turning red he was out of breath however it had nothing to do with their fight. Zoro was smirking, his eyes locked in his.

"-You okay, Shit cook" his voice was suave.

The swordsman's face got so close their lips brushed. And then he woke up, very very confused. He really wanted to ignore how light headed this dream made him feel, how his stupid heart was beating very fast in his chest.

" - Tsk.. dreams really don't mean anything."

He finished his shower then went on with his day, thankfully no one seemed to have noticed where he was earlier. Or at least he thought, the truth was that Chopper had opened the door while Sanji was sleeping, his head resting near Zoro's. That's what actually woke Sanji up. The doctor went back, hiding in the adjacent corridor, when he heard the door close he waited a bit more before heading toward his office. He didn't say a word about it, he felt like the cook deserved to have his secret, since he didn't hurt the swordsman.
