"Hey." I smile.

"Hey." Chronoa in her 'Toki' guise replies as she slides into the booth across from me. "It's about that time, hm?"

"Yeah." I nod slowly.

"You think you're ready?"

"Yeah." I smile. "I think I've got it in the bag, honestly."

"I noticed that you've grown quite a bit stronger."

"Those yardrats are fucking sadistic." I whisper.

"Well, yeah.." The girl looks a little sheepish, scratching the back of her head. "But it worked, didn't it?"

"Who knows~" I reply, causing the girl's sheepish smile to fall.

"Are you not going to tell me because I sent you there?" She questions.

"Well, I need some way to get a little payback." I snort. "You'll just have to wait and see like the rest of Era Gaia."

"You're mean." She pouts.

"What can I say? I'm a mean dude." I shrug.

"One of these days I'll fight you." She declares.

"Please don't... I can only assume you'd kick my ass."

"Maybe I will!" She crosses her arms, turning away and letting out a cute 'hmph'.

There's a smile on her lips though

I close my eyes briefly, a long breath leaving my lips.

Alright.

Let's take stock.

Ikari is much stronger than it used to be. I was able to push the multiplier all the way up to two thousand. Ki control really helped out.

I'll probably use it throughout the tournament, swapping over to super saiyan four if needed.

With my new ki control, performing a kaioken times one hundred was fairly easy. At this point, I likely would have attempted to use it with super saiyan four, but I haven't exactly mastered the form yet, mainly focusing on my yardrat training... as for said training? It helped my god ki... somewhat.

I've got maybe ten minutes of use before I run completely out.

It's less that my god ki has improved and more my original Ki control.

Using god ki still 'ignites' my normal ki and causes it to rapidly leak out. I'm just a lot better at stretching out the duration of that.

Maybe I can get some help from Chronoa if I ever decide to tell her about my God Ki.

Well, I mean... I'm going to tell her. I just don't know when.

I'm fairly certain a large aspect of super saiyan blue was learning to not let your energy leak out.

I'm sure that's my issue. Energy leakage.

I'm used to holding and calling upon energy with the consistency of water... trying to do the same with gas would be tremendously difficult.

I'm water-tight... not air-tight.

"AND NOW FOR THE NEXT FIGHT! CHALLENGER EIGHTY EIGHT! VERSUS CHALLENGER THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY!"

Alright let's do this.

Pov: Nearby.

To be honest? Chronoa is... excited!

The past year or so has been surprisingly fun- though Wairu would never let her hear the end of it if she said that.

Her mirrored twin is already unbearable at times. That would make it worse.

"So... you were pretty eager to get here." Wairu hums. "Is Scallion competing?"

"He is." Chronoa nods once.

"Hmmmmmm?" Wairu smirks. "Could it be? Do you perhaps... like him?"

"Of course I like him." Chronoa deadpans, giving her a flat stare, acting oblivious to the true question. "If I didn't like him, why would we go out and rarely get drinks with him?"

"..."

"Could it be possible that your feelings extend... perhaps a little beyond that? Hmmmmm?" She continues.

"I- Oh look the next fight is starting... and there's Scallion." Chronoa points.

"Who's he fighting- oh... him." Wairu grumbles.

"Huh?" Chronoa blinks. "Do you know him?"

"He's one of the potential hires for the time patrol fresh from the academy that I've had the displeasure of meeting. Leek." Wairu observes. "His personality is... not ideal... the issue is that he is quite strong."

"How strong?" Chronoa asks.

"He's one of the few that can use super saiyan four."

"Oh... that's not good." Chronoa frowns.

"Ugh. Why the hell is a fucking weakling like you here?" The saiyan across from Scallion scoffs.

"Zenkai mostly." The teen in question shrugs.

"Well... I'll make sure you don't get one of those."

"BEGIN!"

Leek's hair flashes upwards turning a golden blonde.

"HAH!" He shouts as he punches towards Scallion, planning to knock him unconscious in one move, dealing as little damage as possible.

Scallion's aura turns a lime green as he leans around the punch, muscles becoming more defined. In fact, it's almost like he grows an inch or two as his hair spikes up slightly. Not quite standing straight up like you would get with super saiyan... but more bristling.

With one simple movement Scallion chops the super saiyan on the back of the neck, Leek's aura vanishing and golden hair falling back to black as he collapses into a heap on the katchin arena floor.

The crowd goes absolutely crazy. Primarily because they just saw a saiyan do something that they have never seen before.

In one simple move, using a power that was never seen before... Scallion surpassed someone with a power level nearing a billion and took him out in a single hit.

"Challenger Three Hundred and Twenty Wins!"

Scallion looks down at the guy he knocked out. "Enjoy the bruised Ego fucker. If you come after me because of this, I'll twist you into a pretzel. Super saiyan four or no."

With that, he turns and leaves the arena, aura disappearing, hair returning to its normal less spikey- but still incredibly spikey as he is a Saiyan- state.

Wairu slowly and robotically turns to Chronoa. "What was that?! What did he just do?!"

"Who can tell." The disguised girl hums.

"You can!" Wairu hisses. "Because you know! I can see that smirk!"

"He compared it to a saiyan exclusive mystic." Chronoa reveals after a moment.

"Saiyan exclusive- wh-" The second hidden kai sputters.

"He also said he has something else he's working on." Chronoa smiles, watching the Saiyan slip back into the main building. "I'm expecting big things."

Match two was pretty simple to win. A human with kaioken. Quite a bit older than myself.

Sadly not much of a true challenge. She did let me test out the limits of Ikari though, holding a power level around thrice that of that one saiyan's in her base form.

Not bad, honestly. She was pretty damn strong. She even managed to knock me around a little after performing a kaioken times forty two.

Of course, she couldn't maintain it for very long, so in those beats between assaults I was able to regain my footing got myself a slim little zenkai from it. Barely noticeable. But when you're multiplying that 'barely noticeable' by thousands, it kind of adds up.

Match three?

This... could pose some issues...

I frown down at a short figure in front of me, clad in bio-armor, two sharp horns on either side of his head pointing in opposite directions.

"Well... this is going to be difficult." I give my opponent a small smile. "Go all out from the start? Or should we start small?"

"Let's start small." The changeling replies, a frieza race.

His final form is probably a sight to behold. Man. I hope he has Cooler's fifth form.

I enter a fighting stance as he does the same. Like this, he's probably around, well, twenty times as strong as me. He seems to be barely touching the edge of the saiyan and frieza race power level limit for this tournament.

"Kaioken times fifteen." I supply as with a sudden burst of speed I rush forwards, one he easily matches, a punch is narrowly ducked as he pivots, foot lashing out.

"Twenty." I hiss as I cross my arms, the brutal kick crashing into my crossed forearms as I am slid back across the tiled floor of the arena.

The aura flickers out as I try out something I've been messing with in the privacy of my pocket dimension.

He appears before me, fist brought back.

He lets out a surprised grunt as for the briefest of moments a red aura surrounds me before utterly disappearing again, his chin drifting off my fist from the force of the punch I just slammed into it.

He capitalizes on the momentum, bending back and trying to kick both of his feet into my chest.

The aura appears again for a split second as I crouch low, avoiding the attack.

I grasp his tail, swinging him downwards towards the floor.

He lands on his feet, knees bent, absorbing the force masterfully. His tail bends slightly, pulling me forwards as he turns.

I flip through the air as I let go of his tail, the kaioken aura briefly reappearing as my sideways cartwheel just narrowly moves my head out of the way of his punch, my cheek only being scratched by the side of his tough living armor.

My leg comes around and the moment before it hits kaioken returns.

The changeling is blasted backwards, the force of my kick crashing into his raised forearms.

He flips twice regaining his footing a moment later.

"Not bad... not bad indeed." He complements. "What's your name, Saiyan?"

"Scallion. You?"

"I am Froze." He speaks. "That Kaioken... you aren't even saying the names anymore. You're only using... just enough to get out of the way... increasing the force of your blows the moment before you hit. I must say I am genuinely impressed. A way to save stamina, correct? To limit the backlash to your body?"

"Correct." I nod.

"The only downside I can see would be that your overall speed decreases when not in use... allowing me to block your attacks quite easily if I'm paying attention." He admits. "Though... it appears my first form holds no contest... you can use more than a simple times twenty, can't you?"

"I can." I answer.

"In which case... form two it is." He decides, his body creaking and groaning as he hunches over. His legs lengthen, horns curving upwards, his upper body seems to pulse before growing larger, his voice deepening as he lets out low growls.

He is now taller than me by a considerable portion.

"I'm a little curious." I begin. "Does that hurt as much as it looks?"

"Does turning into a giant ape?" He shoots back.

"Yes, actually. Its why most Saiyans go mad. They feel so much pain they lose their rationality. Same with de-transforming. It's enough to knock inexperienced transformers unconscious."

"Hm... I have grown used to this pain." The giant horned lizard-like alien admits. "In a way, it's satisfying as a shackle on my power is removed."

He slowly raises a finger, the tip glowing, giving me more than enough time to see that he's starting the fight again.

With a flicker of red I dodge the death beam causing his mouth to turn downwards slightly.

He sends a torrent of thin beams of Ki at my body as I barely move from the spot, activating Kaioken just before his beams strike me.

His final beam is much larger than the others, about the size of my torso. More of a 'wave' of energy like the kamehameha than a beam.

Kaioken crackles around me as the side of my hand crashes into the laser. It is swatted upwards with a little effort.

He stares for a moment.

"What is the limits of your kaioken?"

"One hundred." I answer freely.

He flinches back as if I had slapped him. "One- One hundred?!"

"That was the last time I tested the technique out. It didn't really strain me. I could probably go higher. Especially like this."

"Let's skip the third form, then." He decides as his entire body seems to crack.

He shatters like glass as my own power surges, red fur creeps along my arms as my expression hardens, my hair lengthens slightly down my back as a red tail lashes out behind me. My shirt is utterly destroyed, leaving me with some simple wrist-bands.

The sleeker changeling in front of me lets out a small sigh. "Of course you can do that... just my luck."

He drops into a fighting stance as I do. The power difference between us isn't that great, but I hold a fair advantage.

"To tell you the truth... I skipped two and three and went right to four." I admit. "Seemed easier. Otherwise, I probably would have used those two for a time."

We both blast forwards, our punches meeting with a resounding boom.

Froze is doing quite good at keeping up, but with each small clash I pull ahead... more and more...

"Kaioken!" He shouts out, a fist crashing into my jaw, causing me to stumble slightly.

As the red-cloaked changeling appears behind me, my power surges, adrenaline pumping through my system as I catch his punch with one hand.

"What-" he gasps.

"Three!" He shouts as he narrowly twists around a gut punch, launching a kick towards the back of my head.

My hair ruffles as I barely avoid the kick, flipping forwards and lashing out with a kick of my own that crashes into his punching fist.

With a sudden burst of energy we are launched away from each other, the changeling letting out a low growl as he bends over.

"HRAAAGH!" He roars, body changing yet again. A crown of spikes begin to grow across his head as a sharp bladed tip appears at the end of his tail. A mask seems to slide up in front of his mouth.

"You've done surprisingly well..." He speaks, voice now deeper and more menacing... much like his second form. "But unless you've got something up your sleeve, this is the end."

I remain in my fighting stance, eyes narrowed slightly.

He surpasses my power... roughly two-fold, even in my adrenaline-boost state.

He appears beside me.

With a flicker of red I dodge the punch.

His eyes widen. "You're crazy..."

"Nah." I grin as my fist buries itself into the large alien's stomach, a slightly metallic taste in my mouth. "Just Sayin~"

With a flicker of red I appear beside Froze's head, lashing out with a kick which he blocks with one arm. My hand is brought up to my temple and with a shrill squeak and another surge of red my heel snaps his head to the side.

I sweep one of his legs, after another brief teleport, but he adapts quickly, meeting my next attack with one of his own.

I'm barely keeping up through short bursts of Kaioken and my adrenaline boost, our attacks creating large rippling explosions of wind as we repeatedly clash.

I'm granted a brief reprieve as I slug the masked alien in the chin, catapulting him into the air. I hold my hands up, hands loosely open as golden light crackles to life in them.

The light seems to swirl down my arms and surround my body. My strength rapidly ticking upwards as my destroyed body gains some relief.

In an instant he's on me again, brief explosions of Kaioken allowing me to stay in the fight.

He kicks me in the chest, whirling around, an energy orb in his hand that he flings at me as I soar backwards.

I slide to a halt, swatting my hand forwards.

The Ki blast seems to pop into motes of light.

"What-" he whispers, only to shake his head. "You can heal?!"

"Who knows."

"That's ABSURD!" He shouts.

"Isn't it?" I ask with a knowing smile. "It allows me to do bullshit like this without any real worries."

"Kaio-KEN!" I shout, a red aura surging around me. This time it doesn't fade.
I take a step forwards, body just a blur as I rush for the Changeling.

"TIMES TEN!" I roar.

"TIMES FOUR!" He replies

Our clashes are absolutely brutal, tiles being lifted from the arena, injuries piling up further and further.

I kick the large changeling away, causing him to smash into the floor, one of the large protruding spikes on his back snapping off as I close my eyes.

A brilliant golden aura surrounds me as all of my injuries- and my rapidly deteriorating internal organs are all returned to their peak.

A low exhale leaves my lips as the changeling gets to his feet, a slight twitch to his body, appearing to be slightly unused to the kaioken.

I don't even need kaioken to keep up anymore.

I hold out a hand. "Here."

A golden aura surrounds him as he is also healed.

"You've been a fun fight... pushed me to my limits and even allowed me to push them. Why don't I show you something interesting?"

"What? Are you going to pull another transformation out of your ass?"

"Yes." I smirk.

He blinks twice. "Huh."

He straightens up, rotating his wrist. "Go on... I'm a little interested now... do you have super saiyan five or something?"

"You... could call it that." I smirk.

My energy skyrockets, fur on my upper body darkening in color to a deep burgundy red, my hair goes from black to a deep red, a pinkish outline surrounds my body as blood red aura seems to condense around me.

The katchin tiles crack as I re-enter my adrenaline mode, power surging higher and higher.

My opponent can only gawk as I slowly raise a hand. "Good fight. Thanks for the power up."

"TIMES FIVE-"

*CRACK*

Merely by flexing my aura, the air in front of my hand is rocketed forwards at great speeds.

He is shot back like a bullet, eventually crashing into the earth and carving a large trench with his body as he falls slack, reverting to his fourth 'original' form.

I drop from my 'Super Saiyan Four Limit Breaker' state, and even the super saiyan four state entirely, falling to a knee briefly before I force myself back to my feet.

It is dead silent.

"Good fight." I note.

I probably spoke to long... I barely have any energy left.

Mental note... using god ki while transformed is even more energy intensive.

"Well. That was exhausting." I sigh, bringing my hand up to my temple. "I'm dropping out."

With that... I teleport away. Reappearing in the sky above Rosemary town.

And I can already tell it's going to be sheer anarchy over there sooooo it's time to lay low!

I suppress my power level to the lowest I can get it.

Birds now give off more energy than I do.

I fall downwards, eventually landing in front of my apartment building.

I would have liked to win that tournament... purely for the cash prize. but eh. Chronoa's probably going to track me down and ask me to join the time patrol. Probably going to spoil me a bit.

"Egh. I've got time to ponder, I guess." I shrug as I quickly walk up the stairs and enter my room, flopping on the bed.

Hang on... where's my 'Learn Super Saiyan Four Limit Breaker' achievement?

It's... unusual that I didn't get one.

Did it not count because it was sort of 'imperfect'?

Speaking on that... If I remember from Dragon Ball Heroes...

Hrm...

Why does Gogeta have red hair?

It's like he's in limit breaker despite, well, not being in the form. His limit breaker's closer to Super Saiyan Rose in coloration and... black lightens to red... red lightens to a pinkish color...

What if... Gogeta wasn't super saiyan four?

His aura was different.

Vegito's super saiyan four looks nothing like his. Only showing similarities when he taps into 'limit breaker'.

"Holy shit." I whisper.

Gogeta was quite possibly a super saiyan five...

That... makes a lot of sense, actually.

Super Saiyan four has some 'full power' mode where the saiyan gets a red outline, right? That could be a precursor to 'limit breaker' which... is just using god-ki to enhance an earlier transformation... or is it? Could a normal saiyan push themselves to this breaking point?

Could normal Ki be used and I'm just tossing the much more powerful god-ki at it in a sort of careless inexperienced manner?

That... could be a goal.

If that's the case... it could be the secret to Gogeta's form.

My aura was definitely different than the normal aura of Gogeta... which was different compared to all of the other super saiyan fours... that could simply be a result of god ki. After all, Goku Black had Super Saiyan Rose one, two, and three, enhancing his normal 'super saiyan' forms. It's likely that you can also use god Ki to vastly improve super saiyan four as well.

A long breath leaves my lips.

I guess that's something to think about.

I slide into the bar across from 'Toki', a small smile on my lips. "Hey."

"O-Oh! Hello Scallion." The girl replies.

Her face falls into a frown, eyes narrowing slightly, she points an accusing finger at me.

"You used Kaioken with Super Saiyan Four!"

"Yeah?" I shrug. "And?"

"That's STUPID! You're lucky you didn't die!"

"Nah... I've actually found that I'm surprisingly resistant to the backlash of Kaioken... maybe something to do with the biokenesis?" I reply, causing the girl's pout to intensify.

"Why are you so reckless?!"

"Zenkai?" I shrug. "Like, if you really think about it... I am a genuinely horrifying fighter. I can heal... and like, I think you are underestimating how good my healing is. Like... I can go from barely alive to completely healed in just..."

I snap my fingers. "That."

"It didn't seem that fast during the fight..." She point out.

"Oh, that's because I was using the weaker less magically intensive version... like I said. Kaioken super saiyan four didn't really hurt me that bad in the flickers I used it. Had I, say for instance, maintained it for like a minute or two, sure. I'd probably die, but in just instantaneous bursts like that? Easy peasy."

"You... used times ten for like five continuous seconds..."

And it nearly killed me...

"And?" I smile.

"Whatever..." The girl sighs, seemingly bowing out of the argument. "I've heard that people use mastered Super Saiyan with kaioken fairly regularly... just... just be careful with it, Scallion."

"So what'd you think of your opponents?" She asks as our drinks arrive.

"The first? Fucking hate him... like, with one interaction he has somehow made me hate him with a genuine burning passion. Being so arrogant when he's frankly nothing special. Who's he to decide who gets to fight in the tournament? Who is he to try and sabotage the growth of others? People like him make me sick."

"Mn." She nods. "I hated how arrogant he is. Apparently, he was being scouted for a position in the time patrol."

"Super Saiyan Four?" I question knowingly.

"Super Saiyan Four." She nods once.

"Maybe that embarrassing defeat I gave him will give him some humility." I scoff, crossing my arms. "Arrogant prick."

I shake my head. "The other two were nice, though. Challenger two's kaioken was pretty impressive, honestly. I wonder if she'll try and copy my 'burst' method for Kaioken... that'd make her a force to be reckoned with but it needs intense focus and ki control... but I guess humans are better at Ki control than us Saiyans... I wonder if she has undergone the Yardrat training... if not, she really should. I mean, it allowed me to draw out four times as much power with Ikari and Kaioken has become laughably easy to control."

"And Froze? Frieza sort of colored my opinion on changelings, but damn, Froze's a cool guy. Skilled too. I genuinely respect him. It makes me wonder if there's any transformations beyond the mask thing." I continue as I tilt my head slightly. "It... should by all means be possible. Maybe people just aren't looking in the right place... they're trying to improve that super form... when in reality, maybe that is more akin to Oozaru... and they need to start looking for 'super saiyan'."

"So, how's your friend. You said they had a cold?"

"Oh. They're much better now... it was the same virus Goku got before the androids." She informs.

"Is it... contagious?"

"Nope... but we used the dragonballs to ensure it doesn't appear here." She smiles. "Shenron might not be very good at lasting wishes, but making a single virus die every time it appears here? That's well within his power."

"Ah... that's good, better than my solution."

"Your solution?" She echoes.

"Ah. Sometimes I think... 'what if', you know?" I begin. "'What if I never got taken here?' 'How would I measure up to Goku?' 'What would I have done in these situations?' And in that one... I would have probably killed Goku if I realized how serious that disease was."

Chronoa blinks twice. "Huh?"

"Well, yeah..." I begin to explain. "You can't be revived from natural deaths... such as disease or age... but what you can be revived from is me blowing your head off... it's not the sickness that killed him. It's my energy wave."

"But- Goku was already revived by the dragon balls once-"

"Wish to go to New Namek." I shrug. "Goku beat Frieza for them, they likely would repay that kindness at the very least."

"That's kind of... cold, Scallion."

"I know." I admit with a slightly melancholic smile. "But... by that point, I could probably assume we would have been friends... and... would you rather watch your friend wither away and die... forever... or would you want to save them... even if it meant killing them?"

A silence passes between us.

"So. I've been meaning to ask, have you ever met one of those 'important' people from earth? Like Goku?"

"I have actually." The girl admits, seemingly happy to move on from that dark topic.

"Is he like he is depicted in the history books? 'Hey, you're pretty strong. Let's fight'."

She seems to ponder for a moment, head tilting to the left and to the right. "Yes."

"Awesome."

She lets out a small huff at my bright smile

Super Saiyan Four Limit Breaker huh? I mean, it could be a precursor to Super Saiyan Five. I've heard that GT was supposed to last longer than it did, and Gogeta's aura had more changes to it than a Super Saiyan two aura has compared to a regular super saiyan's so it's my firm belief that Gogeta likely WOULD have been the true super saiyan five. not the white haired thing.
