Eddy's Brother vs. Kahuna Nanu (For the eighth time!)
On Ula'ula Island, the group set down on their Ride Charizards in front of the Hokulani Observatory; everyone jumps off the Charizards.
"Well, everyone; here's our next stop of Mina's trial." said Edd.
"Well, what are we doing standing around?!" asked Sarah.
"Yeah, let's do this." said Eddy. The group walk into the observatory; they soon found themselves in the same room they did Sophocles' trial in. They see Molayne and Sophocles; they also saw Sophocles had tears streaming down his eyes.
"What's wrong with Sophocles?" asked Maxiley. The group walks over to them.
"Well, Soffy, I guess this is goodbye for a little while." said Molayne.
"B-Big Mo, I...I just..." said Sophocles.
"Tog..." said Togedemaru.
"Now, Soffy; When you're saying goodbye to someone who is important to you, you gotta show them one last smile." said Molayne. "That's what an old friend of mine always said, anyway, back when we did our island challenge." He then sees the group. "Oh, Alola, everyone."
"What's going on?" asked Edd.
"I'm going to be part of Alola's Elite Four." said Molayne.
"Elite Four?" asked Jimmy.
"A group of four strong trainers in each Pokemon Region." replied Molayne.
"Cool!" said Ed.
"I wonder if there was an Elite Four in Sinnoh." said Eddy.
"Must be quite an honor for you, Molayne." said Edd.
"It is; anyway, Soffy, Hokulani Observatory is yours now." said Molayne. He walks past the group and exits the room.
"B-B-Big Mo-o-o-o-o-o-o!" cried Sophocles.
"Don't be sad, Sophocles." said Edd. "I'm sure you'll see Molayne again someday." Sophocles wipes his eyes.
"You're right; I can do this." said Sophocles. "No, I will do this!"
"That's the spirit." said Edd.
"Are you all here for Mina's trial?" asked Sophocles.
"You bet." said Ed.
"Listen; I'm not feeling up to it right now, so I'll just give each of you a yellow petal." said Sophocles.
"Well, I wouldn't feel right battling you if you're not focused, so I'll accept the petal, but not pokedollars." said Edd.
"Me, too." said Ed.
"Yeah, me too." said Eddy.
'Eddy not accepting money?' Sarah thinks to herself. 'This Pokemon stuff really has changed him.'
"I'll take a petal too." said Jimmy.
"I'll take one." said Sarah. Sophocles reaches into his pocket and pulls out five yellow flower petals; he gives each of the group, except Maxiley one.
"Would you like me to escort you all to where the next part of Mina's trial is?" asked Sophocles. "A nice walk will do me some good."
"Yes; I think we could use a little exercise ourselves." said Edd.
'Double-D wanting to exercise?' Jimmy thinks to himself. 'He's a different person thanks to this Pokemon stuff.'
Moments later, after taking a bus down Mount Hokulani, the group and Sophocles begin walking towards the Aether House and soon arrived at Malie City. As they walked down the road, the group looked around.
"It seems just like yesterday we were here, battling Kahuna Nanu for the Ula'Ula Island Grand Trial." said Edd.
"Speaking of Kahuna Nanu." said Jimmy, pointing at the pier. The group looks to see Kahuna Nanu and to their surprise, Eddy's Brother, facing each other.
"Bro?!" exclaimed Eddy, getting his brother's attention.
"Hey, pipsqueak." said Eddy's brother with a grin. "What brings you twerps here?"
"We're in the middle of another trial." replied Edd.
"Whatever; came to see your bro win this Grand Trial?" Eddy's brother asked Eddy.
"You lost the first seven times; what makes you think you can win this time?" asked Kahuna Nanu.
"I have to win sooner or later." replied Eddy's brother.
"Have you made any effort to actually train your Pokemon?" asked Kahuna Nanu.
"Yeah, yeah." replied Eddy's brother. "Are we going to have a battle or what?"
"Fine; we'll battle." said Kahuna Nanu in an annoyed tone.
"Want to watch, guys?" Eddy asked the rest of the group.
"Sure." replied Ed.
"You runts are about to see a real trainer in action." Eddy's brother says to the group.
"We've seen Eddy battle a lot of times, you fathead!" said Sarah, making the rest of the group chuckle and Eddy's brother frown before turning his attention to Kahuna Nanu. He pulls out a Great Ball while Kahuna Nanu pulls out a pokeball.
"Forretress, get out here!" said Eddy's brother, throwing a Great Ball and releasing a spherical Pokemon with bumpy steel plates covering the top and bottom half of its body with four red spikes coming out of the middle of it, and a pair of eyes.
"What's this Pokemon?" asked Edd, taking out the Rotom Pokedex and pointing it at the Pokemon.
"Forretress, the Bagworm Pokemon and the evolved form of Pineco. In the moment that it gulps down its prey, the inside of its shell is exposed, but to this day, no one has ever seen that sight." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Sableye, go!" said Kahuna Nanu, throwing a pokeball and releasing his Sableye. "Sableye, Shadow Sneak!" Sableye's shadow stretches towards Forretress and it strikes it, damaging it.
"Forretress, use Payback!" said Eddy's brother. Black streaks of energy is released from Forretress' body and they hit Sableye; because Forretress was hit before using Payback, the power of the attack was doubled.
"Sableye, Night Shade!" said Kahuna Nanu. Sableye fires black and red beams of energy from its eyes and they hit Forretress, damaging it.
"Forretress, Mirror Shot!" said Eddy's brother. Forretress becomes surrounded by a light blue aura; it forms into a ball of light blue energy and Forretress launches it at Sableye, hitting it, and damaging it. "Ha! Now along with your Sableye getting hurt, it will lose accuracy!"
"Too bad for you, my Sableye has the Keen Eye ability, which prevents her accuracy from being lowered." said Kahuna Nanu.
"Oh man!" said Eddy's brother.
"Now, Sableye, Power Gem!" said Kahuna Nanu. Sableye fires a pink beam of energy from her eyes at Forretress.
"Use Protect!" said Eddy's brother. A green force field appears around Forretress and it blocks Sableye's attack. "Now use Bug Bite!" Forretress flies at Sableye while tucking its spikes into its body; it clamps Sableye with its steel plates, damaging her.
"Use Foul Play!" said Kahuna Nanu. Sableye grabs Forretress and slams it onto the pier, damaging it.
"Use Payback!" said Eddy's brother. Forretress releases more streaks of black energy from its body and they hit Sableye, knocking it out. "Yeah! How'd you like that?!"
"I didn't." said Kahuna Nanu before returning Sableye to her pokeball. "You did well, Sableye."
"Why are you praising a loser?" asked Eddy's brother. The group glared at Eddy's brother.
"Kahuna Nanu was praising Sableye, not you!" Sarah yells to Eddy's brother, making him glare at her, prompting Ed to step in front of her.
"Man, what a jerk." said Eddy. Kahuna Nanu puts Sableye's pokeball away and pulls out another one.
"Krokorok, go." said Kahuna Nanu, throwing Krokorok's pokeball and releasing it. Krokorok glares at Forretress, making it tremble, and weakening Forretress' attack due to Krokorok's Intimidate ability. "Krokorok, use Crunch!" Krokorok charges at Forretress and bites it, damaging it, and knocking it to the ground; Forretress struggles to get up.
"Since Forretress can't seem to take it much longer, I won't have him battle." said Eddy's brother, surprising the group.
"Well; it seems your brother is not as much as a cad as we thought." said Edd.
"I guess." replied Eddy.
"Forretress, use Self-Destruct!" said Eddy's brother, shocking the group. Forretress glows white and explodes; Krokorok gets caught in the explosion. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, both Forretress and Krokorok laid on the pier with swirly eyes. Ed looked aghast at what he just witnessed.
"Eddy; your brother is worse than a cad!" exclaimed Edd.
"Yeah; he's the king of jerks!" exclaimed Eddy.
"He's a super meanie!" exclaimed Jimmy. Eddy's brother returns Forretress to its Great Ball while Kahuna Nanu returns Krokorok to its pokeball.
"You rest now, Krokorok." said Kahuna Nanu. "I'm surprised you made it past my second Pokemon this time, but you still need to beat my last Pokemon to pass my Grand Trial."
"Bring it on." said Eddy's brother as he pulls out a pokeball from his waist while Kahuna Nanu does the same.
"Persian, go!" said Kahuna Nanu, throwing Persian's pokeball and releasing it.
"Graveler, get out here!" said Eddy's brother, throwing his Alolan Graveler's pokeball and releasing him.
"His Alolan Geodude must've evolved." said Edd.
"Persian, use Bite!" said Kahuna Nanu. Persian leaps at Graveler and bites him, dealing damage.
"Graveler, Thunder Punch!" said Eddy's brother. Graveler runs at Persian while electricity surrounded his hand and he punches Persian with it, damaging Persian.
"Persian, Dark Pulse!" said Kahuna Nanu. Persian jumps up and releases black rings of energy from the gem on its forehead and they hit Graveler, damaging him.
"Graveler, use Smack Down!" said Eddy's brother. Graveler forms a golden ball of energy between his hands and he launches it at Persian, hitting it, and damaging it. Kahuna Nanu holds up a Z-Ring. "Oh man, not one of those things!" Kahuna Nanu begins doing poses and channels energy into Persian; the Z-Power symbol appears in front of it.
"Persian, Black Hole Eclipse!" said Kahuna Nanu. Persian lifts up its head and a sphere of black, red, and purple energy forms above it; Persian throws the sphere above Graveler and it expands into a black hole. It sucks Graveler in and it explodes, dealing damage to Graveler; he falls to the ground in front of Persian. Graveler struggles to get up.
"Graveler, Self-Destruct!" shouts Eddy's brother. Ed's face turned pale while Eddy's head turned red and he clenched his teeth while smoke was coming out of his ears, and he was breathing heavily. Graveler glows white before exploding in an electrical blast more powerful than it normally would be due to Graveler's Galvanize ability; Persian gets caught in it. When the smoke from the explosion cleared, both Graveler and Persian laid on the pier with swirly eyes.
"Well, you finally won." said Kahuna Nanu as he returns Persian to its pokeball. "You did well, Persian."
"Praising losers?" asked Eddy's brother as he returns his Alolan Graveler to its pokeball. He then walks to Kahuna Nanu while pulling a Trainer's Passport out of his pocket, "Just put one of those stamps on my passport." Kahuna Nanu frowns as he takes a rubber stamp out of his pocket and stamps a page of the Trainer's Passport. Kahuna Nanu walks past Eddy's brother towards the Malie City Pokemon Center.
"Your brother is so cruel, Eddy." said Maxiley, trembling. Eddy's brother puts the passport in his pocket before turning around to see Ed walking towards him with a blank expression on his face.
"Come to congratulate me, chinless?" asked Eddy's brother with a smug look on his face. Ed suddenly grabs Eddy's brother and lifts him up over his head, surprising everyone. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" Ed suddenly throws him hard over the sea until he crashes into a buoy.
"Wow!" said Maxiley.
"Way to go, Ed!" said Jimmy. Eddy runs to Ed and hugs him.
"That was great, big guy!" said Eddy.
"Bravo, Ed." said Edd.
"He deserved that!" said Sarah. Ed begins breathing heavily until he calmed down. Edd walks to Sophocles.
"Are you okay, Ed?" asked Edd.
"Yeah, Double-D." replied Ed. Edd turned towards Sophocles.
"Shall we continue, Sophocles?" asked Edd.
"Yeah." replied Sophocles. He and the group continued on their way to the Aether House. Moments later, Eddy's brother climbed out of the water, soaking wet, and onto the pier.
"What did I do?" asked Eddy's brother.
The group just witnessed what Eddy's brother was willing to do to win. What else will they witness as their Alola adventure continues?
