A Double Twisted Nightmare Chapter 9
They head pass the door and enter the corridor again, heading over the where the gallery door is. They stop in front of it and Bec speaks, "In here, there are wasps that have been mutated due to the virus. They are more of a pest, but they can injure us if we leave them be. There is insecticide around the corner, a corpse is holding it."
"Ok, but the wasps will know what were up to or continue to attack us." Chris said.
"Yes, so we can't use it in there. We come back out here and go pass door 002, to the end of the hall. At the end there is a map of this place, that is covering a hole, that leads right where their nest is. So use the insecticide there, they all die and on the desk, where the nest is, is the last key needed in this place." Bec finishes.
"Right. I'll hold off the wasps, if needed. You grab the insecticide." Chris said. He had seen the map as they got to the door leading to the aqua ring and had wondered why Bec didn't grab it. Now he understands that Bec didn't grab it at the time, was because she didn't want the wasps to come into the hall.
"Your not allergic to wasps, are you?" Bec asks, as she unlocks the door.
"No, I'm not. I'm guessing you aren't either." Chris said as Bec pushes open the door.
"No, thankfully. Let's grab-" Bec stops in mid sentence and they both go to a stop a couple feet into the room.
They stare in shock, Richard was in the room and he was under attack by the wasps.
They quickly get out of their shock and move. Bec runs to where the insecticide is and Chris goes over to protect Richard.
Bec grabs the insecticide from the body and gets out of the room, while Chris takes out his knife and slashes at the wasps, both on Richard and them coming towards the two of them.
Bec gets to the end of the hall, grabs the map for evidence and pumps the insecticide in the hole in the wall, until it was all gone. She then heads back to the room to find Richard in Chris' arms.
Richard looks awful, he had swellings, from where the wasps got him, and he had other injures. He was also convulsing, his airway was cut off.
Bec gets down to their level, "Wh-What happened?" she asks, stunned. She doesn't understand why Richard was here.
"I don't know why he's here, but he is allergic to wasps." Chris reveals, trying to keep Richard from hurting himself even more.
"Where's his epinephrine pen?" Bec asks, looking Richard over, in hopes of finding it.
"We had been on an operation, before when a wasp got him and I saw it, but I can't find it on his person now." Chris said, still holding him.
Richard was clearly suffocating, his throat was closed, but he starts making signs with his hands. They are confused as to what he was doing, and then..
"No!" Bec shouts as Richard stops moving. He dies in Chris' arms, from asphyxiation.
Silence.
"... I don't understand... Why was he even here?" Bec asks Chris, as he lays Richard on the floor. She was devastated that he was now dead.
".. I can't say. You told Rebecca to drug him... She's young but really responsible, there's no way she didn't do what you asked." Chris said, looking over Richard in sadness.
The door bursts open and they turn to see Rebecca in the threshold, holding Richard's shotgun. "No.. I was too late.." she said as she comes over to them, clearly filled with sorrow.
She gets down to their level and looks Richard over, "Oh, Richard.." she says.
".. What happened, Rebecca?" Chris asks.
"I'm not completely sure myself. Once Richard was feeling better, I did what Bec said and drugged him. As I was waiting for you two to come back from here. I heard noises near by. So.. I left to investigate." Rebecca said.
".. You left him alone?" Bec asks.
"There was no choice, you two were here and I had no idea where the others are. It turned out, four zombies had gotten over to that side of the mansion. I had to get rid of them. When I did, fifteen minutes had past, before I went back to check on Richard. I got back and to my surprise, he was gone." Rebecca said.
"But he was still drugged?" Chris asks.
".. There were drugs in that room could've wake him back up from the drugs that knocked him out.. The thing is, only someone with a medical background could have made it." Rebecca said.
'Wesker!' Bec realizes in horror. He must've have decided to get rid of Rebecca and Richard, for obviously, he didn't want any loose ends, especially from Bravo team.
So he had gotten the zombies from the east side of the mansion, where they came in the winding corridor and used them to distract Rebecca, most likely even kill her. He then went into the storage room, where Richard was, and roused him, before taking him from the room.
Then, once Richard coherent, Wesker must've lead him here and trapped him. Bec then realizes, thinking over Richard's actions before he died, he had been making letters in the air. Letters that spelled Wesker.
"... What happened as you realized he was gone? Why didn't he have his epinephrine pen?" Bec asks.
"I searched the mansion, the doors that were unlocked, in hopes that he was still there, but he wasn't. That's when I realized he might've come here.. and I was right. As for his pen.. he told me he only brought one with him and he used it before he and I met up." she said.
".. I see.." Bec trails off. 'Wesker most likely got Richard to tell him that, but..'
".. There are some injures on him that didn't come from the wasps. They are from Plant 42, the only threat left in this area." Bec said.
Wesker had to have taken Richard into it's room and left him there, only he escaped. But of course if Plant 42 couldn't finish him, the wasps would.
"The helmet key is where it is, right?" Chris asks.
"Yes, but we have a few more steps, before we confront it." Bec said, standing up. The other two follow suit.
Bec heads over to the nest and grabs the key from the desk, heading back to Chris and Rebecca.
Rebecca holds out Richard's shotgun, "Here, this is better than a regular one." she said to Chris.
Chris takes it, before removing the shotgun on his back and gives it to her, "Then take this one. Firepower is needed." he said. Rebecca takes the offered shotgun.
Bec goes over to the door, that read 003, and unlocks it. She heads in followed by Rebecca and Chris. They all see a bed with roots and moths flying around it.
She removes her backpack and digs the red book out. She removes the file from where the other red books are and places the red book on it.
She then shows the papers to them.
Organic Chemistry Lab Experiment
The similarities in the cellular characteristics of the rapidly growing plant infected by the Tyrant Virus have been reported in previous papers. However, while repeating these experiments, an interesting new fact became clear.
We learned that a chemical in the UMB family, UMB No. 20, contains a compound that is toxic to the cells of the plant.
We have given UMB No. 20 a new name: V-JOLT. If calculations prove correct, when V-JOLT is applied directly to the root of the plant, the entire plant should be dead within 5 seconds.
The V-JOLT can be made by simply mixing the VP and UMB chemicals in a specific ratio. However, extra care must be taken when handling these UMB chemicals. They have been known to generate toxic gases if mishandled.
The characteristics of each UMB chemical are as follows:
UMBNo. 3 red
Yellow-6yellow
UMB No. 7green
UMB No. 10orange
VP-017 blue
V-JOLT dark brown
After they read it, Chris speaks, "So, this was the reason you brought up chemicals. This V-Jolt can take care of Plant 42."
"Sounds good, but where are we to find these chemicals? I don't think they're back at the mansion." Rebecca said.
"No, they're right across the previous room." Bec said, arranging the books, after she put away the paper.
When she arranges the picture on the books, the self on the left moves, revealing a door. "This can take us to Plant 42, when we're ready. The double doors in the last room are locked on the other side." Bec said, going back over to the door.
They follow her as she leaves the room and goes over to the single door with contraption on it. It takes Bec a few minutes to unlock the door and they head in, finding chemicals of all kinds.
"Of course, it has the Umbrella logo." Rebecca said, looking the room over.
"What's up the that code?" Chris asks, about the writing on the wall.
"That is the way to make V-Jolt. Rebecca, the one on there is water. Can you make it?" Bec asks.
Rebecca looks Bec over and sees that she is barely holding on. ".. Yes, I can make." Rebecca said and does just that.
When she was done, Bec brought out the map of the aqua ring. "The roots to Plant 42 are in this room." she said, pointing to a room in the aqua ring.
"The water is gone, so you'll have to take this route in order to get there." Bec shows her how she is to get there.
"Thanks, give me ten minutes before you enter Plant 42's room." she said, leaving the room.
Bec and Chris head into room 003 and wait. Then once the ten minutes have passed, they head into the room and watch as Plant 42 shrivels.
Bec gets over to the fireplace and grabs the key, scrapping off the ashes. "Here's-" Bec didn't finish as Plant 42 grabs her. It was not dead.
Bec screams, dropping the key, as she's lifted into the air. "Let her go!" Chris shouts at it, pointing the grenade launcher at it.
"The petals!" Bec shouts as she struggles.
Chris then remembers the notes that said, the most vulnerable part of Plant 42 was behind it's petals. He runs up the stairs and when it opens, he fires at it.
The plant becomes erratic, it does not like the pain. 'Good! It also looks like it is weakened!' Chris sees that Rebecca had been successful.
However another vine comes around, smacks the launcher from him and grabs him. "Shit!" Chris yells as he and Bec were in real trouble.
Then the double doors are thrown open, it was Barry. "The hell?! Let them go!" he shouts and uses the flamethrower on it, making sure not to hit Bec or Chris.
Plant 42 finally is defeated, the flames and V-Jolt were too much for it, and shrivels up, this time for good.
When the vines were weakened, they drop Bec and Chris to the floor. "Ah!" they both shout as they land. "Are you two all right?" he asks them.
They both get up, "Yeah, thank you Barry. Can't say if the chemicals would've killed it, before it got us." Chris said, grabbing the grenade launcher he dropped.
Bec grabs the key and is silent. Rebecca then enters the room, "How did it go? Barry!" Rebecca said, happy to see him.
"Good to see you Rebecca." Barry said.
"Fine, but we underestimated the strength of the plant." Chris answers, Rebecca's question.
"Let me treat you two. Let's get back to the medical room." Rebecca said, turning to the doors.
"What to come, Barry?" he asks his friend.
"Nah, I'm all right. I'll stay here a little longer." Barry said.
"If you change your mind. I'll be there for a while." Rebecca calls to him.
".. Barry, when you go back to the mansion, can you clear us a path?" Bec asks him, as she goes past him.
".. Yeah, I can do that." he said.
They get back to the medical room and Rebecca treats Bec and Chris.
".. Does Barry not like me?" Rebecca asks once she was done with Chris and heads over to Bec.
"No, why would you think that?" Chris asks.
".. This is the first time I've seen him tonight." Rebecca said.
Chris is silent. ".. I'm sure he had a good reason." he finally said. In truth, he was confused as to why Barry didn't meet up with Rebecca sooner.
'.. That's because of his family.. He fears Wesker, over what he threated his family with.' Bec keeps her thoughts to herself.
".. Bec.. can you step out for a moment?" Rebecca asks, once she finishes treating Bec.
"Ok.." Bec said, not paying attention and leaves the room.
Rebecca then turns to Chris, "Chris.. Bec needs to have a breakdown. Now." she tells him.
Chris is startled, "Is that a good idea? We are in a situation." he said.
"No, but there isn't much choice now. Sooner or later, she'll have a breakdown and I think we both can agree, it shouldn't be against a monster. Take her to room 002 and get her on the bed. It will get much worse, if we leave it alone." Rebecca said.
"Can't you do it? You're a doctor." Chris said.
Rebecca shakes her head, "She seems to be responding better to you. Try to get her to open up to you. If you fail, I'll have no choice but to drug her and I really don't want to do that." she tells him, looking sad.
Chris could see that Rebecca didn't want to ruin the trust between her and Bec. ".. Ok. I'll talk to her." he said.
"Good." she said. She then shoos him out of the room.
Chris then looks over at Bec, who was lost in herself. "Bec.." Chris starts, and Bec comes out if her thoughts, "Come with me."
He takes her by the hand and takes her back to room 002. "Why did you bring us back here? There's nothing more we can do." Bec asked, confused.
".. Come sit." he said, bringing her over to the bed and they sit.
A moment of silence between them.
"Bec.. Tell me what's on your mind." Chris breaks it.
".. I don't know what you-" Bec tries to protest but Chris brings up his hand.
"Bec.. you can't keep it bottled up anymore. Your not going to make it. Just tell me." Chris said, lowering his hand.
Bec then feel the rush of emotions as Chris tells her to let it out. Before she could stop them, tears gathers in her eyes.
"That's it." Chris says, watching her, "Your safe with me. Tell me everything."
Hearing the reassure in his voice, the tears start following down her face and she launches herself into his arms.
Chris is surprised by her actions, but holds her. "Why is this happening?.." Bec starts talking.
"Keep going." he said, encouraging her.
"Why me? Why am I here? I couldn't save Richard... If I'm not here to save anyone, then why?" Bec continues to speak.
It goes on for awhile, Bec was talking and crying and Chris was listening. She tells him about the training facility experience, expect Billy, and how she feels about it. She also talks about the mansion. She does not mention Wesker.
Then Bec gets tired and falls asleep while still in Chris' arms. Chris shifts the two of them until they both lay down on the bed.
Bec snuggles against him and he unzips his vest so that she can feel more safe with him. He then keeps watch over her, but doubts that there will be anymore monsters here.
Rebecca came in and sees the two of them. Chris whispers to her that he had gotten Bec to talk and Rebecca nods her head at him, relieved.
She then whispers to come to the medical room, before they leave and once Bec was up. Chris whispers yes and Rebecca leaves.
A couple of hours later, Bec awakes, finding herself in Chris' arms. She blushes in embarrassment and that she was in his arms.
Chris was looking down at her, "Feel better now?" he asks, once she looks at him.
"Yes.. I'm sorry for inconveniencing you." Bec said.
"Don't, you may know things, but you clearly weren't mentally ready for this. It's understandable that it got to you. As for Richard, you did try. He may still have died, but you did help. His death was not your fault.. though why didn't you tell us that someone had survived this place?" Chris asks.
'Someone survived this place? Oh, he thinks one of the scientists down in the basement lab did it.' Bec realizes that Chris was not letting the possibility of it being Wesker cross his mind.
".. Everyone that was here, are dead. No one was alive, by the time Bravo team came here." Bec tells him. 'Then again, Wesker hid his medical background from the RPD.'
Chris becomes confused, "Then who did that to Richard?" he asks.
Bec is silent. "..Until more proof comes, I rather not say." she says. 'If I tell him it's Wesker now, especially if we meet him in the hall, it might go bad... and I'm unsure if he'll believe me.'
".. Ok, when we get more proof, tell me then." he said, getting up from the bed. Bec gets up with him and rubs her shoulder.
Chris sees this, "Sorry. I guess I should've taken that off." he said, zipping up his vest. He meant her back pack.
"It's ok. I can deal with that." she said. 'After talking with Chris, I feel like a weight was taken off.'
"Let's to Rebecca." he says, "She said she wanted to see us before we head back to the mansion."
They head to the medical room and see Rebecca making medicine. "Glad to see your doing better, Bec." she said, turning around.
"Yeah... You were right. I should've talked sooner." Bec said.
"It's ok.. though you and I will need to talk later." she said. Bec nods and could see that Rebecca had been crying herself.
"We will." Bec promises, even though she's not sure when.
"I know you two are heading back to the mansion, so I made these." Rebecca said, handing Bec medicine that can help them.
"Barry had left about an hour ago, he said he would clear us a path. He did check in with me and I patched him up, before he left. I'll follow you, once I'm done here." she said.
"Ok, stay safe. Just because Barry cleared the path, doesn't mean there aren't any monsters." Bec said.
"When we get back to the mansion, the Hunters, that we encountered back at the training facility, will come." Bec reveals. Both Rebecca and Chris nod at her words.
"We're heading out. See you later Rebecca." Chris said. He and Bec leave for the central corridor.
As they approach the corner, they hear gunshots. 'He's here!' Bec thinks as she and Chris run to where the noise.
They see Wesker, shooting at bugs. "Wesker!" Chris said, relieved.
Wesker turns to look at them, "Chris. Your still alive, along with Miss Venganza." he said.
"My words exactly." Chris moving forward.
".. Where's Jill?" Bec asks, following Chris' movements.
"Yeah, weren't you two together?" Chris looking around to try and find her.
"Yes, we were, but ended up getting separated." Wesker said, he had moved behind them.
".. Why did you two leave the main hall?" Bec then asks, turning to face him. Chris looks at him too.
"No sooner, than you two left the room, we heard a noise coming from somewhere else. We had to investigate to make sure, it wasn't a threat. It was a zombie." he said.
"I see. Well about Bravo team.." Chris informs Wesker on what has been going with Bravo team.
'That was a good excuse. The two things he forgot to mention was that Jill's gun was in the hall and that some of the doors were locked at the time.' Bec keep her thoughts to herself.
".. the only one we haven't found yet is Enrico. We need to find him and get out of here, before we end up becoming zombie food." Chris finishes telling Wesker about Bravo team. Chris seems to have forgotten about those two things.
"Yes.. However, we also need to find out more, about this situation. There were some rooms back at the mansion that are locked. I think you should go check it out." Wesker said.
"What about you?" Chris asks him.
"It might be best if I investigate here for awhile." he said.
"Sounds good." Chris said. He and Bec turn to leave, when Wesker grasps Bec's left wrist.
She turns to look at him. "My dear, it might be best that you stay with me." he says.
".. No, thank you, Wesker. Chris has kept me safe." she said, removing his hand from her. 'He knows I'm from the training facility.' Bec no longer had any doubts that Wesker recognizes her.
"Are you sure? You look quite injured to me." Wesker said.
"Wesker, this place has monsters. To say I come out unscathed, is asking too much, even if you protect me." she said, firmly.
"Yeah, it's ok Wesker. Bec is safe with me." Chris said, inwardly, he is puzzled as to why Wesker was doubting him.
"Remember she is a civilian. Her safety is a priority. I left some things in the garden shed, I suggest you take them." Wesker said, before leaving their sight.
Bec and Chris then head back to the mansion, finding dead dogs and snakes carcasses on the way. Barry had taken care of them. They enter the shed, finding ammo and a first aid spray, which Bec puts away.
"Hey, Wesker fixed the door by the eastern stair way. We don't have to be concerned about it anymore." Chris said, taking the ammo.
They reenter the roofed passage, Bec does not grab the stone and metal object, and they stop as they reach the door that will take them back inside.
"When we enter, a hunter will follow us inside." Bec said, bringing out her shotgun.
"Understand." he said, armed with the shotgun that had once been Richard's.
They head in, as they walk to the stairway, they hear the hunter coming. They turn, as it comes around the corner they fire at it. Once it was dead, they turn to look at each other.
"How many are here?" Chris asks, he knows there can't have been just one.
"There are at least twelve in total, here at the mansion. There will be some at the courtyard lower levels, but we have to finish here first." Bec said.
"Agreed. Where do we get the rest of the keys?" Chris asks. He was talking about the basement lab.
"There are two here, behind doors that need the helmet key. As well as a partial third one, but the remainder is in the courtyard lower levels." Bec tells him.
"Ok, which one should we go to first?" he asks.
"The closest one, is by the eastern stairway. Let's head there and there are two hunters in the stair way." Bec said.
"Ready." Chris said, holding the shotgun.
They head into the stairway and take care of the hunters, though Chris got a scratch from one. Bec treats him with some medicine, then they head back to the resting room and Bec unlocks the helmet door.
They head in to see a statue in the middle of the room and see art work on the walls. "Chris, please push this statue towards the wall that way." Bec said, pointing to the slot that is empty.
Chris moves it and as he pushes it, the walls start closing, nearly making him panic, until they hit the statue, stopping. Chris then pushes as far as it can go before he stops. The slot where the statue goes is blocked.
"There is a button over here that can recede the walls. As they are receding, push the statue." Bec calls.
Bec goes behind the wall and pushes the button, leaving once the wall recedes. Chris pushes the statue where it goes and the walls go back to where they belong.
A wall below the stained glass that features the Umbrella symbol, opens up. They go over to the new spot.
They find the hole. "What's down there?" Chris asks.
"Zombies and Web Spinners for monsters. The gold medallion is this way, a piece of evidence and we can restore power to the elevator." Bec said.
She jumps down, making sure her skirt doesn't flip, followed by Chris. She grabs the red book and opens it to get the gold medallion. She then heads over to the headstone and takes the dairy. To Bec's surprise, the key for the art room falls out.
She grabs it, "We've found the key for that painting, but I'll have you read this, once we get light again." Bec said, putting away the items.
She then presses the button on the stone and it retracks, showing a ladder. Bec goes down it first, Chris follows.
When they reach the ground they see a Web spinner on the wall and Chris gets rid of it with a grenade launcher. Holding it they turn the corner and Chris shoots at another one on the ceiling, until it was dead.
Bec then grabs the map, as Chris was taking care of the last spider, and heads to the dead end to grab shotgun ammo. They then get over to the door leading to the next passage.
Once in, they hear zombies and ready themselves. They shoot at the zombies, Chris gets his by head shot and the one Bec faces, by it taking enough lead.
She then gets the blue herb on the ground and quickly mixes it with other herbs. She then gets the dagger from the fence part and they head over to where the power supply is.
"This should switch here and.." Bec was able to restore the power.
They then leave, going to the door that will take them to the cafeteria. When the door shuts, Chris turns to Bec, "We go to the elevator, right?" he asks.
"Yes. Up there are two zombies, supplies and a battery needed to operate that lift in the waterfall area." Bec said, as they walk over to it.
"What is in the waterfall area?" he asks. He presses the button to bring down the elevator.
"The entrance to the caves. The ones that Trevor talked about in his diary." Bec said. The elevator arrives and they get on.
They go up and find themselves in a new corridor. They get rid of the zombie that was close by and Bec gathers the herbs by the elevator.
"What's behind these doors?" Chris asks as he explores the hall.
"Those doors lead to the library and the silver medallion, but the doors are broken. The only way in, is through that door where we got the real armor key." Bec tells him, as she puts away the herbs.
"Ok, let's finish this area." Chris said.
They get rid of the remaining zombie and head into the materials room. They grab the ammo, self defense items, and the battery.
Bec then takes out the diary part she picked up from the secret passage and shows it to him.
Nov. 29, 1967
I can't get out. I have tried every possible way to escape but only to be faced with the reality that I'm trapped.
I've been everywhere. The laboratory with the large glass tubes filled with formaldehyde and those dark, wet and eerie caves... What can I do?
At first I didn't want to believe my eyes. But that familiar high-heeled shoe in the corridor... It was like reflex. One name came to my mind, Jessica!
I don't want to believe they share the same fate as me. No! I can't give up hope. I have to hope they're alive.
Nov. 30, 1967
I haven't had anything to eat or drink for the past few days. I feel like I'm going crazy.
Why is this happening to me? Why do I have to die like this? I was too obsessed with designing this ghastly mansion. I should have known better.
Nov. 31, 1967
It was a dark and damp underground tunnel. And another dead end. But even in the darkness something caught my eye.
Carefully, I lit the last match, I had to see what it was.
A grave! But deeply engraved into the stone was my name!
"George Trevor"
At that instant, it all became clear to me. Those bastards knew from the beginning that I'd die here and I fell right into their trap.
But it's too late now. I'm losing it. Everything is becoming so far away. Jessica... Lisa... Forgive me.
Because of my ego, I got both of you involved in this whole damn conspiracy. Forgive me. May God justify my death in exchange for your safety.
George Trevor
"Spencer is truly a heartless man." Chris said, after he read it. 'Trevor clearly had no idea what he and his family, were in for.'
"Yes, even though this place was a secret project. Spencer didn't want the risk that Trevor would tell someone about this place." Bec said, putting it away again.
".. The door around the corner takes us back to the mirror hall, if recall right. So, we take that route up there." Chris said.
"Yes, but we will encounter Yawn again, for the last time." Bec said, bringing out her grenade launcher.
"Understood." Chris said and they leave the room. They unlock the door and enter the hall of mirrors, going all the way back to the door that would take them upstairs. Going past the door, they head up and go to the helmet door.
Bec unlocks it and they head in. "Yawn will appear as we get close to the ladder." she tells Chris.
"You get down the ladder first." he said.
As they get close enough, a window is broken and Bec gets down the ladder, followed by Chris. The snake follows them and circles around the shelves to better attack them.
When Yawn shows it's face, they fire their launchers at it. It attacks Chris but he dodges it as Bec attacks it. It then goes after Bec, who gets out of the way, before it bites her.
Chris fires at it for the last time and Yawn wails in agony, slamming itself against the shelves and breaking glass, before dropping down dead.
Bec heads around the bookcase to get the blue book and removes the silver medallion from it. She then meets up with Chris, "We have the medallions. We just need the second stone and metal object." she reminds him.
"I remember, but we should stop by that room in the western stair way. The door had a helmet symbol on it." Chris said, as Bec puts the medallion away.
"That's fine, but we have to be careful of hunters." Bec said as they head towards the ladder.
Chris goes up first, followed by Bec and they leave the room and head downstairs, back to the mirror hall.
They stop outside the door, "There are two hunters in this room, but I'm not sure, when they'll appear. It will be by window." Bec said.
"We'll just keep our guards up." Chris said, opening the door.
They get over to the door on the left, Bec unlocks it and they head in. The lights were on and the eagle statue was following them with it's eyes.
Bec grabs the printed email off the table in the center of the room and shows it to Chris.
CONFIDENTIAL Attn: Chief of Security Date: July 22, 1998 2:13
X Day is drawing upon us. Execute the following procedures within one week. Prompt actions are demanded.
Lure S.T.A.R.S. to the estate, and obtain B.O.W.'s raw combat data against S.T.A.R.S.
Collect two embryos of each mutated specimens as samples, excluding the Tyrant. Dispose of the Tyrant.
Ensure complete disposal of the Arklay Laboratory including all personnel and test animals. Disguise their deaths as an accident. When the above procedures are executed, report to headquarters for further instructions.
If for some reason you are unable to execute the procedure by the deadline, report immediately. In case of emergency situations, report directly to the extension number 5691.
Good luck. Umbrella Headquarters, Umbrella Inc.
"What? We were lured here?.. When we came here, we were expecting a cult, not scientists and viruses. The cult had been the lure as well as Bravo team. The date... This was sent out before Bravo team was." Chris said, looking disturbed.
"Yes, the lab accident was Marcus' doing, but Umbrella are still working to achieve 'results'." Bec said, in a disgusted tone. She puts the paper in the bag.
"Who's the chief of security? You said there were no survivors, by the time Bravo came here." Chris asked, confused.
Bec grabs the daggers and hand mags, "There were no survivors. The chief of security, is someone who took more of a 'hands off' approach here. The chief only came, when he was needed." she said.
Bec heads back over to him and gives him some of the supplies. "We need to push the two desks near the hunting trophies. Those two have a red and yellow gemstone in their eyes, that we need." Bec said.
"All right, I'll push this one. What's up with the eagle statue?" Chris asks, taking notice that the eagle was following his movements.
"Some kind of safety measure for the gems, it will lock them in place, if we get too close to them. Thankfully, it can't follow the both of us." Bec said, pushing the other desk.
Chris gets on top of the desk, once he was done pushing it. Bec distracts the eagle statue and he removes the red gemstone from the deer mount.
He gets off, getting the eagle statue's attention, while Bec gets on the desk by the bull mount and removes the yellow gemstone. She climbs down slowly, she is wearing a skirt.
"We have to get back to the tiger statue room. That is where the yellow one goes." Bec said.
"So we'll be finished there. Is there any other doors, aside from the painting one?" Chris asks, as they go to the door.
"There are two. One in the main hall and the one by the back entrance. The key for the back entrance is in the rooms behind the last helmet door." Bec said, as Chris opened the door.
They head to the stairs, when they hear glass breaking. The hunters had gotten in. Bec and Chris were ready as the hunters came up the stairs and shot at them with their launchers.
With the threat gone, they go downstairs and get back to the door leading to the tiger statue room. "I'll go in and get the MO disk." Bec said. She didn't want a repeat of last time they both went in.
"Go ahead. I got your back." Chris said. He also didn't want a repeat.
Bec heads in, places the yellow gemstone on the left hand side and grabs the MO disk that was behind it. She leaves the room, reuniting with Chris.
"What does that disk do?" Chris asks, as Bec puts it away.
"It will help with locks, down in the basement lab." Bec tells him, straightening the back pack.
They then hear some footsteps approaching the hall that they are in and it wasn't human. They ready themselves as the hunter destroys the door and gun it down.
"I take it you didn't know when this one would appear?" Chris asks.
"No, I didn't." Bec confirms that. She didn't know when it would appear or if it would.
"To the main hall." Bec said and they leave the hall.
They arrive at the main hall and get over to the helmet door, which Bec then unlocks it. They head in and Bec finds the last part of Trevor's diary.
There's something handwritten. It's not dated
Nothing's changed. I never thought that this room I designed as an experiment would pay off like this.
I can hide here safely for a while, because nobody knows about the secret behind this painting. Not even Sir Spencer.
Painting of a mansion... In the back of the art room.
"That key you were talking about, in that passage, reveals a hidden room. Is there anything in there?" Chris asks, after he reads it.
"That is something, I'm not entirely sure about." Bec admits.
"We'll check it out, after we're done here." Chris said.
They head to the other door, "There is one zombie in here. Then we have to keep an eye out for a hunter." Bec said.
"Right." Chris said and he opens the door.
He gets rid of the zombie and Bec gets the herb and the dagger. She then goes over to the self to get the jewelry box and when she grabs it, footsteps that were not human are heard.
Chris gets into position and opens fire, once the hunter shows itself and kicks the door, destroying it.
When the threat was dealt with, Bec takes the red gem and inserts it into the box. The pieces fall of it and Bec arranges them to make the Spencer crest. The box unlocks and the emblem is revealed.
"That's the same symbol on that door." Chris said, recognizing it.
"Yes, these emblems are the Spencer family crest." Bec said, turning the emblem into a key.
"Is he from an old family?" Chris asks. He never cared too much about famous people.
"His family has roots that go all the way to the time of the Stuart dynasty of England. So yes, he has always considered himself to be elite among the other wealthy families." Bec tells him.
"Sounds like he is arrogant as well as heartless." Chris said.
"More than words can describe. Let's check out the hidden room." Bec said.
They leave for the art room and get to it's back room, Bec uses the key to unlock the painting. They head in, find a bunch of costumes, books and coverings.
"There isn't anything of value here." Bec said, as Chris looks it over.
"Your- wait there's some handgun bullets." Chris brings out ammo from behind a covering.
"That's a surprise. Maybe Trevor intended to attack the scientists, in hopes of saving his wife and daughter. Maybe he thought about it in one of his delusions." Bec said as Chris came back to her.
"Quite possible. These bullets are still good. They weren't exposed to the elements and have no rust." Chris said, putting them in the back pack.
A strange noise is heard, startling them both. They slowly move around the room, trying to figure out where the noise came from. They reach a coat rack and check it to see if the noise came there.
Nothing was in the rack, Chris then looks to see where it came from when Bec feels something touch her shoulder. She screamed and tries to move forward when she trips over herself in a panic.
Chris had turned around by this point to see the monster, but there was no monster, it was a feathered boa.
"This place-" Chris turns to look at Bec, but stops what he is about to say.
Bec was sprawled across some boxes, her hair is off to the side and her skirt had flipped up when she fell. She was lying on her front, panties on display "Chris.." she hissed, "Is there a reason your staring?"
Chris turns red and quickly turns away, ".. I didn't see anything." he lied. He was trying to make his blush go away.
"I know your lying. Just don't tell anyone about this." she said, getting of the boxes and stands up. She dusts herself off.
"I promise." he said. His blush finally went away.
They leave the room, taking the l shaped corridor to get to the study. Bec stops Chris before they open the door to winding corridor.
"There are two hunters in there, one is in the bathroom." Bec tells him.
"Understood." Chris said. They ready themselves and head in, but..
"What happened?" Bec asks, surprised.
They find a hunter right by the door, leading to the broiler, but it was dead.
They then look for the other one and find it also dead, by the windows. "Someone took care of them, but who?" Chris wonders.
'It is either Barry or Wesker.. Though come to think of it, we haven't seen Barry since we got back here.' Bec can't say for sure who it was.
"Let's get to the study." Chris said.
They head through the double doors and Bec tells him, "Rebecca will be right above us, in trouble. Once the door opens."
"Then shouldn't we go save her now?" Chris asks.
"I'm not sure if the hunter has cornered her yet. She is not defenseless." Bec said, unlocking the door.
They then hear a scream from the small library. "Go!" Bec said, and they run.
They get to the small library and see Rebecca about to be killed by a hunter. They shoot at it until it was dead.
"Thank you.." Rebecca said as she came over to them.
"What happened? Where's the shotgun I gave you?" Chris asks. Bec sees that Chris is right, Rebecca no longer has it.
"As I came back, there were three of them coming from behind me. I was able to get two of them when the third one destroyed the shot gun by knocking it out of my hands.
I ran to this room and discovered the door over here is locked. I screamed once I saw that the creature followed me. It was about to get me when you arrived." she tells them.
Bec tries the door leading back to the stair way and Rebecca is right, it was locked.
'So it wasn't some fluke... Why would Wesker lock it?' Bec knows that Wesker has the skeleton key to the mansion and gave a copy, at least, to Barry, so he could help him.
The door was nothing important and aside from the hidden room, Wesker had wanted them to venture in, to gather data against the creatures.
Bec decides that she was better off not knowing. "We need to get you somewhere safe. Do you want to go back to the west storage room?" Bec asks.
"Yes, I would like that." she said.
"We'll take you there." Chris said.
They get back as far as the main hall, when Bec stops. Chris and Rebecca stop as well and look at her.
".. Chris can you check the upper dining room and the balcony? There are two hunters in each location. So be careful if they are still around." Bec said.
Chris was confused, until he remembered that Bec told him, that there should be twelve of them in the mansion. 'She wants a head count.'
"I'll go check them out. Are you fine to go to the west storage room without me?" he asks them.
"Yes." Bec said.
Chris heads back up the stairs and Bec and Rebecca head through the double doors to the dining room. They get back to the west storage room and wait for Chris, who shows up a moment later.
"There were no hunters on the balcony, but I did find two hunters dead in the dining room, second floor." Chris informs them.
"Rebecca, where did you encounter the hunters?" Bec asks.
"I was actually trying to find you two, when they found me in the mirror hall, you'll find the corpuses of the two hunters and the destroyed shotgun there. I ran, the two dead hunters in the dining room, I did not see, they must've been out of the way, to the library. What I was trying to do was lose him." Rebecca said.
"Your right about those hunters, they weren't in the way of the doors... I take it finding out about the hunters being dead, is a surprise for you." Chris says to Bec.
"Yes, but it works." Bec said. 'I think Wesker did this... With the dead ones, I'm unsure, but he definitely sent those live hunters after Rebecca to kill her.. there are hunters for the courtyard basements.. I don't think Wesker will waste any more resources in the mansion itself.' she thinks.
She is brought out of her thoughts by Chris who touches her shoulder. "You ok?" he asks.
"I'll be fine, we need to get back to the study." Bec said.
"Ok. Rebecca, you are to stay here until we come back for you." Chris tell her.
"I promise, I'll stay here. And take this." she gives them herbs that will increase them to maximal potential.
"Thank you." Bec said. She and Chris leave the room and get back to the study room.
They head in this time and search the room, "Cramped or what? Though given how it smells, I don't think anyone has used this room for awhile." Chris said, tuning on the light, finding ammo.
"No, this room is for Spencer when he visits this place. Due to his ailing health, is why this had been closed off." Bec said, grabbing the battery pack and flash grenade, she gives that one to Chris.
Bec looks over the bookcase and finds the metal object. "Now we just need the stone part. Let's get to the courtyard." Bec said, putting the object away.
They leave the study and make their way back to the waterfall courtyard.
Richard is dead. Sad.
Bec had a mental breakdown, but is now on the mend.
