Vince and Sam raced through towards the living room, where they came to a stop and the sight that was happening.
Mindy was currently in a back and forth with the killer; Ghostface. The both of them struggling as Mindy pushes hard against the knife that is aimed to stab her.
Sam didn't waste any time, and grabbed a lamp from the table side and chucked it hard at the killer's back. It broke instantly and the killer recoiled, enough that whoever they were, they moved away from Mindy, who collapsed against the wall behind her.
Vince grabbed one of the beer bottles from the table and brandished it, chucking it hard at the killer who was moving quickly away.
Sam moved to grab another weapon when the killer scurried out the side door.
Vince started to run in that same direction, blood fuming to do something to him. Kill? He wasn't sure.
But he soon stopped himself as he looked over at Mindy.
There was a lot of blood around near her shoulder and collar bone, and it had been smudged along her face a bit as she breathed coarsely.
Vince rushed over to her, as did Sam.
'Oh my god," Sam muttered, gently putting her hands on the stab wound.
"It's a lot of blood," Mindy groaned, her voice barely in it as her eyes started to droop.
"No, no, no, you gotta stay conscious Mindy," Vince urgered, shaking her slightly, as he too put his hands on Mindy's wound.
"Mindy stay with-"
"AAAAHH"
Sama nd Vince head immediately turned around at the ghastly scream.
Standing in the doorway that they'd just come was Amber, and right next to her was Tara who was in crutches.
"What did you do to her?" She yelled, walking right up to them.
"No, I didn't do anything.. I-" Sam started, moving away from Mindy, but Vince held one hand out, glaring at Amber.
"Stay the fuck back, Amber!" he yelled.
Amber stopped as Sam looked at him alarmed.
"What the fuck are you on- Amber started but Vince shouted over, a bit more calmer.
"Where were you both just now?"
"Ah, Upstairs, we were looking for Tara's inhaler."
"Jesus christ," Tara said in disbelief, "Where's the killer?"
"I don't-" Sam started.
Then came the shattering of glass.
Everyone yelled out and flinched and looked to the source.
Richie now stood in the room, and just below him was a beer bottle that he'd just dropped and shattered.
His face looked mortified as he saw Mindy.
"What the fuck?"
"Richie, where the fuck were you?" Sam asked angrilly, Vince glared at him as he put more pressure on Mindy's neck. Her eyes fluttered back open as a groan escaped her lips.
"I went into the basement to get beer!' He said shrilly.
"You went into the basement alone?" Amber asked.
"I asked her to come with me! She said no!" Richie said defensively.
"Oh, you really are a dumb bitch huh?" Vince yelled, glaring at Richie,.
Vince felt his blood boil as it all came to the surface.
"Oh my god, your the fucking aren't you!" Vince continued, taking one hand briefly off Mindy's neck to point vigorously at Richie.
"What?" He yelled perplexed.
"Of course it's fucking you, the goofy boyfriend my ass!" Vince continued, quickly putting his hand back on Mindy's neck.
"I'm telling you it isn't me-"
Just then, another person came rushing it, causing everyone to yell as they did.
It was Liv who looked absolutely horrified at the scene she just entered in.
"Fuck," She sobbed.
"Stay the fuck back" Amber warned and Liv did indeed stayed back as she looked down at Mindy and Vince crouched on the floor.
"Jesus christ!" Liv said.
Amber then eyed the others with accusing as she pointed.
"I was with Tara, but the rest of you were wandering around, one of you is the fucking killer!
"Yeah and his name is fucking Richie!' Vince yelled with venom in hois voice, once again pointing hard as Richie.
"I literally just told you I was getting a beer!" Richie yelled back.
"Fuck you Amber, Fuck you!" Liv sobbed.
Sam now looked at Liv.
"Liv, why is there blood on your hands?" She asked worriedly.
Liv looked surprised as all of them watched her look down at her hands, 'What?"
She began to breathe in and out, hyperventilating.
"I found Chad," She sobbed pointing to where she'd just come from, "I found Chad outside and he's."
"What?" Amber asked, 'You're fucking lying."
"No I'm not," Liv sobbed.
"You're the killer," Richie said.
"No I'm not!" She yelled.
Vince stared at her, all his anger seemed to have calmed down a bit as Liv just kept repeating, "No I'm not, No I'm not, no I'm not."
In his mind he somehow knew that this was not the person who had just attacked Mindy.
Regardless of her actions this evening to him, to Chad and Mindy, Liv was not the killer, nor was she the mastermind.
She was just a teenager, like him once.
"Liv!" AMber started, but Liv just ignored her and kept muttering before she started again, "Liv just stop."
"Fuck you Amber!" Liv said with gritted anger, looking right at her with tears in her eyes, "I'm not. The fucking. KILLER!"
"I know."
What happened next could only be described as controlled chaos, and yet it happened so slowly.
Amber had spoken so calmly, yet what she did was far from it.
Vince didn't see it happen, but all of a sudden Amber had pulled a gun out from somewhere, she didn't even flinch when she pulled the trigger right at Liv.
It happened so quickly as the bullet lodged into Liv's head and her head ricocheted as she fell dead to the ground.
There was a loud gasp from everyone and Vince flinched. Right behind where liv had been standing was her blood covering the wall, but his eyes soon found its way to the gun in Amber's hand.
And he recognised that gun.
He'd seen it so many times whenever he had gone and stopped by Dewie's place, he's seen it in his holster and it went with him whenever he's been on duty
It was Dewie's gun, that was Dewey's gun in Amber's hand.
And she was now smiling, and the heated hatred that was billowing inside him as he now found himself in.
"Welcome to Act 3" Amber said gleefully, the killer, the one who had killed Dewey, as she turned the gun to Sam.
"Run!" Richie yelled and soon came the chaos.
Vince acted quickly, putting an arm under Mindy''s shoulder and rushed her up as the gunshot went off. Vince looked up and just saw a blur of Richie and Sam running out of the room. Vince kept one hand on Mindy's wound and he hoisted her out of the room as fast as he could.
He could hear a struggle from behind but he didn't look back.
He staggered with Mindy down the hall and rushed up the stairs. Mindy's body swaying a bit as they made it to the top of the stairs.
"Come on, stay with me Mindy," Vince urged, shaking her slightly as he carried her down the hall. His eyes kept looking around and he kept running, reaching the end of the corridor before he turned right.
He ran carrying Mindy as fast as he could before he reached the end of the corridor.
He'd found what he was looking for, a room as he briefly took his hand off Mindy's shoulder and turned the doorknob and pushed both of them inside.
It was one of the guest bedrooms, as Vince carried Mindy and gently sat Mindy down at the floor next to the bedside table.
"Hey, hey you're ok, you're ok," Vince said, as he rushed back and shut the door, thankfully the lock was from the inside.
He then rushed back to Mindy and out both of his hands on Mindy's stab wound.
Her eyes kept flicking as she breathed in through her nose.
By now, Vince's hands and sleeves were covered in blood as he pressed harder.
"We need to get you to stop the bleeding," Vince said quickly in one breath, his eyes glancing around for anything that could help him.
"Cha…"
"What?" Vince asked in a hushed voice.
Mindy now had tears in her eyes, as she spoke again, her voice cracking, "Chad…"
"I'm so sorry Mindy," Vince's voice cracked, his eyes watering, god, how they were the both of them in this mess now.
Mindy slowly put her hand up to her wound, putting more pressure on it.
"You know.. We can't hide here forever," Mindy groaned.
"I know, I know, I know… " Vince said wearily, "which is why you're gonna keep putting pressure on that, and I'm gonna find Sam and Richie."
"What… how is that gonna-"
Vince then pulled his phone out.
"I'm gonna barricade the door, and you're going to call for help, ambulance, police, either one, just tell them to come here as soon as possible. That's the best way we're gonna get out of here."
"I'm gonna come back ok," Vince assured her as he put his phone in Mindy's hands.
"How will I know it's you and not Amber or whoever the other killer is?" She asked him.
"I'll knock 3 times on the door. I swear I'm gonna come back."
Mindy let out a slight dry chuckle, "You know you're not supposed to say that in a horror movie."
"Good thing I don't really care for those movies," Vince joked before he slowly stood up and took his hands of Mindy's wound.
She watched him as he slowly walked towards the door, putting his ear to it.
There was silence outside.
Good, he thought as he unlocked the door and slowly pushed it open.
It was still silent as Vince shut the door behind him. He slowly walked closely along the wall.
As he started to run around the corner, he could hear someone screaming and yelling and the sound of footsteps quickly coming up the stairs.
It's Amber, he thought, and he quickly ducked into one of the rooms, locking the door as quietly as possible.
He waited with bated breath as he heard muffle screams and staggering, followed by the infuriating sound that was Amber's giggling.
"Don't worry Tara, You'll have your moment in the spotlight soon enough."
Vince's own breathing was caught in his throat as he stood completely still, his heart pumping in and out against his chest as he raised until the footsteps had gone before he let out his breath.
He just started to back away from the door, his breathing become shallow and heavy as his eyes transfixed to the door.
His back eventually found the window of the room and he shuddered, scaring himself.
He quickly turned around and opened it as quietly as he could, he knew if he went back down the stairs, Amber would definitely hear him, and she'd still absolutely had that gun on her.
It would be very easy for her to catch him.
He put his head out the window, he could see the the yard that was the side of the house, which was not too far away from the garage. He then looked down at the ground beneath him, it seemed pretty easy for him to climb out.
His eyes glanced around to see if their was any signs of anyone else.
And then he saw it, and he felt his heart leap a bit.
It was Chad.
His body lay on the ground just a few feet away from Vince. There was a short blood trail which followed along the grass to his body.
It wasn't the fact that Vince was seeing Chad's corpse dead on the ground, quite the opposite.
Because he was moving.
He was slowly pulling his body along with his arms and elbows and every so slightly he would move himself forward.
"No way," Vince muttered, his voice cracking, Chad was alive.
He didn't look good though, there was blood trickling down his leg and torso, if he didn't get help now, he would eventually…
Vince took one last look at the door before he hoisted himself out the window. He held onto the window frame as he lowered himself onto the roofing of the first floor.
He scooted himself to the ledge before he quietly lowered himself down onto solid ground.
He stood there for a few seconds, just waiting and then he quickly shuffled over to Chad's body.
"Chad, Chad!' He whispered harshly.
Chad's head turned back, fear in his eyes.
"Vince…" His said weakly, "Thank fuck… I thought you were the killer…"
"No, Amber's upstairs inside."
"What? Amber's the killer?"
"One of them, anyways come on, we gotta get you out of here," Vince continued, slinking one his arms under Chad's armpits and slowly hoisting him up back on his legs.
Chad winced and groaned in pain as he slowly put an arm over Vince's shoulder.
"You alright?" Vince asked, and Chad just nodded, as Vince slinked his other around Chad's waist to keep him stable.
"Ok, we're gonna start moving right now," Vine said, and Chad let out a quick, 'ok," before they started to walk.
Chad staggered with every step as Vince moved the both of them in the direction towards the back door.
Chad just kept breathing in and out of his nose as Vince looked down at his knee.
"Jesus, we need to get that looked at," He muttered.
"Yeah… where is everyone?"
"They're inside, Mindy's been hurt pretty bad…"
"Oh fuck, Liv's ok though right?"
Vince's mouth went into a thin line as he stopped momentarily. He didn't look at Chad, who was looking at his, his mouth slightly agape and his eyes wide. He didn't know how he could even explain what had happened.
"I'm sorry," Vince's voice cracked and he looked over at Chad who's whole face seemed to just drop, his eyes began to water.
"Fuck no," Chad's voice cracked, Vince felt his eyes water, "I'm so sorry," He whispered, and he slowly started to walk again.
Chad just kept groaning, but every now and then he'd let out a few sobs.
They eventually made it to the back door, which Vince quietly pushed open.
There was still silence in the house for the most part, but Vince knew all too well that would soon end, especially with this house.
He carried Chad in through the house passing the closet under the staircase and was just about to turn and head back up the stairs where they heard a loud yell.
It made them stop for a second, and Vince felt his heart stand still.
It was definitely Amber, yet it sounded so far away, like it wasn't from inside the house.
It was outside.
"Fuck, why is she outside?" Vince asked.
"I dunno, maybe to check if I'm dead or not," Chad answered weakly, he then winced a bit.
"Ahhhgh…"
"You alright?" Vince asked, alarmed.
"Yeah.. just my leg… I don't think I can get up the stairs like this…. Fuck…"
Vince looked around alarmed, if that groan from Amber had been what he thought it was, she'd definitely just found that Chad's body was not in the backyard, and she'd know she'd come back inside to look for him, and she'd find them.
They had to move now, right now.
But Chad…
Vince's eyes shot over to the entryway into the kitchen.
"Wait I got it," He said quickly and staggered with Chad towards the kitchen.
As they entered, he briefly let go of Chad and ran to the drawers, pulling them out quickly and looking inside.
There should be some around somewhere, they should-
He pulled one of them out and there it was, a tea towel.
He quickly shut the drawer and ran back to Chad, folding the tea towel and wrapping it around Chad's bleeding leg. He tied the knot, his fingers fiddling quickly as he tightened the knot.
Chad uttered a quiet yell as Vince stood up again, putting his arm back around his shoulder.
"How's that?" He asked.
"Fi-"
"No time, let's go," Vince said quickly, and without warning carried Chad under his arm out of the kitchen and up the stairs. He hoisted Chad hard up and as quickly as possible over the steps until they reached the top
Then, the two sprint-staggered along the hallway, making the turn until they were eventually at the door that Mindy was in.
He gave a quick 3 knocks.
Know, knock, knock.
Chad and Vince waited with baited breath as they slowly heard the coming of footsteps approaching.
The door creaked opened as Mindy peered outside.
Hery eyes widened at the sight of Chad and Vince.
"You're never gonna believe I found out bleeding in the yard," Vince joked quietly as he pushed through.
"Oh my god, Chad" Mindy whispered harshly as Vince carried Chad inside. Mindy still hand one hand on her neck wound as she shut the door behind her. Vince lowered and sat Chad next to the bedside table, and Mindy sat down next to him, now putting her hand on Chad's stabbed torso.
Vince let him go, and watched as Chad took a few deep breaths in.
"You ok?' Mindy asked.
"Me? I thought the killer got to you?" Mindy interjected.
Chad gave a slight chuckle, though it looked painful to do.
Vince stared at them for a moment.
'Ok, I'm gonna go find the others, you two need to stay here."
Chad looked at him surprised.
"What… No, the killer's…"
"Sam and Richie are still somewhere in this house," Vince said calmly,
and there's Tara. They're all still somewhere in this house."
He then glanced over at the door.
"I'm gonna barricade the door and I'll go out the window, if anyone tries to get in, arms yourselves."
Mindy nodded as Vince stood up.
There was a dresser right next to the door which he quickly ran to and grabbed a hold off. With both hands, and as quietly as possible, he pulled the dresser and pressed it hard against the door.
He pulled a couple of chairs and pushed them against the dresser until eventually the door was well barricaded.
His eyes looked over to the window, and then back to Chad and Mindy on the ground.
'I'm gonna come back," Vince promised them.
Mindy nodded.
'You better," Chad said, and there was a bit of a smile on him now.
Vince smiled too, but that went away as he opened the door and stepped onto the roof of the second storey.
He made sure to close the window on his way out as he tiptoed his way to the next room window.
It took a bit, but he eventually managed to pull the window open and he hopped inside.
It was another guest bedroom as Vince quickly and quietly marched over to the door. He waited a bit once again before he opened the door and found himself back in the hallway again.
There was silence again, though from below he could hear someone shuffling and stamping around repeatedly.
Amber.
He walked quietly along the hallway and soon found himself near one of the windows that was the front of the house.
There were a few beer bottles scattered around, likely that some of the partygoers had left.
His eyes then looked out and became transfixed on what he saw.
Where Vince stood was right under the veranda at the front of the house, and right out in the front he could see a car parked and right in front of it was Sidney and Gale.
Finally, the veterans are here,
Finally, there was an actual chance of surviving these killings after all.
And then he heard the front door open, and then came screaming and crying.
He watched from below as Amber stepped out the front door, whining and crying and wailing.
"AAAAAHHHH…. Help me…. He's stabbed me."
It was the most pathetic thing Vince had ever seen in his life.
Pathetic, that this stupid child that had killed Liv, that killed Hicks, who killed Dewey. His Dewey, the man who had been there his whole life, who had been there through thick and thin, the one who actually never gave up on him; his dad. And now here she was, screaming like dumb child acting like this was the performance of a lifetime.
The words she'd said back in her room came flooding back into his mind as he seethed with anger:
"Maybe you just don't realize what you have,"
Stu had taken everything he'd had, and so it seems that Amber had done the same.
He didn't know quite what had come over him, but he slowly opened the window up, clasping on the beer bottles in his hands.
"Please, please help-"
"Bitch, who do you think you're trying to fool?" Vince yelled at the top of his lungs.
Amber looked up at him horrified, then it turned to anger, seething anger.
That was nothing compared to what Vince was feeling, as he raised the beer bottle and threw it hard at Amber.
She barely had time to miss it as it shattered on the ground.
"Oh, FUCK YOU!" Amber screamed, and she suddenly pulled the gun from behind her pants. Vince didn't care, and just threw another beer bottle, this time is landed right at her feet.
"Fuck you Amber, If you wanna fucking kill e, you gonna have to come up here and do it, THIS IS MY HOUSE"
He didn't even know what he was saying anymore as Amber finally seemed to have enough and started blasting, right near Vince's window.
He finally gained some clarity as he quickly backed his head in the house, just as he heard a loud crack in the window.
He heard more gunshots as he started to run along the corridors of the second storey.
