With a cry of pain, an Olmec was hit by Broly's fist and also flew out of the boat. Trembling in fear, two other Olmecs aimed their rifles at the Saiyan and fired two beams of light.
Yet, seeing the two attacks coming towards him, Broly closed his fists before striking them. In an instant, the two rays were ejected to the side and exploded upon hitting a block of ice.
"What?" the two Olmecs wondered.
Targeting them, Broly created a ki-blast that struck them, before exploding.
" ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH ! "
In a matter of seconds, four Olmecs had been defeated. However, when he turned to the fifth enemy, Broly saw him holding Robin's hair while the blade of his sword was placed against his neck.
"If you come any closer, I'll kill her."
In response, Broly continued to roar like a wild beast, as he advanced towards the duo. Seeing this, the Olmec tried to back away.
"Hey! Can you hear me? If you come any closer, I'll kill your friend! I'm serious."
Yet, Broly continued to walk towards him, as he let his anger control his movements.
"Damn it! What's your problem?"
Suddenly, what looked like purple spit hit the Olmec's face.
" What ? "
Having regained consciousness, Toxtricity had spat in the Olmec's face.
Toxtricity use ACID.
Feeling as if he had been hit by a corrosive liquid, the man cried out in pain. Dropping his weapon, he tried in vain to wipe his face, to remove the acid that covered it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH! My face! It's burning."
Suddenly, Broly found himself in front of him. Then, his enormous hands grabbed the Olmec's head. With a cry of fear, the man felt the Saiyan's hands exert an enormous pressure that began to crack his skull.
"AHHHHHHH! STOP! I surrender! I ... "
Suddenly, like an egg, the man's head exploded while blood and brains splattered Broly's body. However, not seeming to feel anything, the saiyan struck the rest of his former enemy's body and ejected him out of the boat.
Having fallen to her knees, Robin couldn't help but shiver, seeing Broly go on a rampage like this while killing without the slightest hesitation. Currently, he no longer looked like the shy man at all, who didn't know how to react around other people.
"Broly...is that really you?"
Hearing this, the Saiyan turned to her. Growling again, he approached Robin. Crawling backwards, the young woman seemed more and more frightened by the man.
"Broly... you don't recognize me?"
Broly continued walking towards her, before clenching his fist, ready to punch her.
" GRRROOOOAAARRRRR! " He roared, preparing to attack her.
" BROLY ! "
Stopping, the Saiyan turned around. Having a hand placed on his wound, Vii had tried to straighten up. Having seen him behave in a strange way, the former princess had wanted to stop Broly. However, his simple cry made him spit blood, while his injuries were too important.
"Please... don't hurt him." She said, before collapsing to the ground.
Seeing this, Broly let his aura disappear. Then, as his anger began to subside, the Saiyan seemed to regain awareness of his actions. Now displaying a shocked face, he quickly ran towards Vivi and crouched down in front of her.
"Vivi... Vivi... are you okay?"
Seeing the unconscious young woman, Broly seemed panicked.
"Vivi! VIVI!"
"Remove her chains."
Approaching Broly cautiously, Robin preferred to keep some distance. However, knowing that she wouldn't be able to do so, she decided to let Broly help Vivi.
"The chains around her are preventing her from using her power! Remove them."
Listening to her, Broly grabbed the chains before managing to break them.
"Good! Now pick up the taser at your feet. "
Seeing one of the weapons that the Olmecs had fallen on the ground, the Saiyan picked it up, without understanding how it could help him.
"The power of lightning when Vivi transforms allows her to heal herself." Robin said. "Now that the seastone is no longer acting on her, electricity can no longer harm her."
Looking at her, Broly seemed skeptical. After all, he had never seen Vivi transform. How could electricity, the weapon his father had used against him to control him, heal the former princess ?
"Do as I say." Robin insisted.
Finally, having no better idea, the Saiyan obeyed her and pointed the weapon at Vivi, before creating an electric discharge. Hitting Vivi's body, the lightning projectile struck her and, immediately, Vivi's entire body was surrounded by electricity. Stunned, Broly backed away to avoid being electrocuted.
Acting like Menma's flames, the lightning covered Vivi's wounds before making them disappear. Then, in a few moments, Vivi's body seemed to heal. Seeing this, Robin dropped to her knees, while breathing a sigh of relief.
"She is now out of danger."
Then, she saw Broly approaching her. Seeming to have some memories of what had just happened, he had his head down, as he whispered.
" Sorry ! "
And before Robin could intervene, he grabbed her chains, before breaking them as well. Free, Robin rubbed her arms, while Broly returned to Vivi. Sitting on the ground, he suddenly seemed to suffer from his performance, while he felt a sudden fatigue. Now, every time he fought, Broly was unable to fight for more than a few seconds and was unable to use a power comparable to that which he had against Goku.
But despite the fact that the man had just saved her and was now weakened, Robin couldn't help but feel uneasy.
Having seen the Saiyan kill a man in cold blood, she wondered if Luffy could really trust a person like him.
Landing in front of Accino's house, Menma let Shun-Day and Lil dismount.
"I really loved it." Lil said. "I'm so glad you're becoming my servant."
Then she walked towards the front door.
"Let's go to my room."
Following her, Shun-Day and Menma saw her take off her shoes before putting on slippers. Simply waiting for her to finish, the duo saw her turn to them.
"I advise you to wear slippers! Since your shoes are wet, you're going to leave marks on the floor! And if they see them, Aristotle won't be happy."
" Aristote ? "
" It's me. "
Screaming, Menma and Shun-Day saw the man right next to them, as he had just appeared without them seeing him.
" What ? Who is he ? "
"Lil-sama, welcome back home." The old man said, bowing to her. "Would you like me to help you take off your coat?"
Without waiting for an answer, he took Lil's coat and went to a closet to hang it up.
"Aristote... we're going to my bedroom." Lil said.
"Okay! However, I would like to ask you who are these two children who are accompanying you? Are they part of the pirate crew that you attacked?"
"Indeed! But do not be afraid! From now on, they are my servants."
"Keeping you?"
"Wow! Since Arbell doesn't want to play with me anymore, I want them to keep me company."
Glancing at Menma and Shun-Day, Aristote seemed reluctant to see them in Lil's company.
"Lil-sama... I have no right to refuse you this! However, I advise you to talk to your parents about it! With these children at your side it can be very dangerous! You must be very careful! Especially since two other pirates came earlier and wanted to attack your parents."
"My parents?" Lil wondered. "Are they hurt?"
"Fortunately not! However, Yvelina-sama had to intervene to immobilize Roronoa! And right now, she's in the company of a disabled woman."
" Onii-san / Mother ? " Menma and Shun-Day were stunned.
"My head really hurts," Bepo complained, his bump still visible.
Walking ahead of him, as the duo wanted to find the others, Raynare preferred not to look at him.
"I don't know what happened to you! When I found you, you were on the ground and injured! Luckily I was there to save you."
"Yes! Thank you very much." The bear said, completely unaware that Raynare was the one who attacked him.
Stopping Raynare looked around as she continued to see nothing but water or icebergs.
"It's no use! We have no way of finding the others."
"My captain and Mugiwara are in that direction." Bepo affirmed, pointing his finger to the West.
"What?" Raynare wondered. "How do you know? Do you have an item that lets you find your captain? Or do you have a power?"
"No, not at all." Bepo retorted.
Feeling the wind touch his face, he declared.
"The wind carried their scent to me."
Looking at him for a few seconds, Raynare seemed surprised.
"I thought you were a useless person! But maybe you can be useful."
Hearing this, Bepo became depressed again.
" I'm sorry. "
Picking up one of the strange devices the Olmecs had on them, Robin pointed it at Pouky and managed to reactivate the robot. Letting his eyes turn blue, the dog's body produced several sounds, before performinghits update.
Finally, able to move again, the dog began to growl, while searching for the enemies that had attacked him. However, none of his sensors could find the presence of even a penguin or an Olmec.
"Enemy not located! No danger identified."
No longer having any reason to think about being attacked, the dog began to point his muzzle in a specific direction again, where Franky was.
"Perfect." Robin said. "We can join the others again."
For his part, sitting next to Vivi, Broly waited for her to open her eyes. The saiyan was worried and, honestly, he didn't understand why.
All his life, he had only worried about his father, because they were related. And it was this same person who had forbidden him to worry about another person or to become his friend. Paragus kept telling him that friendship would make Broly weak.
Was he right? Why was Broly so worried about Vivi? Because she was nice to him? Did Broly consider her like his friend? Was that why he felt so weak since he met Luffy?
Suddenly, with a moan, Vivi finally opened her eyes. Startled, she immediately sat up, before looking around her.
"The enemies...where are they? Where am I? Robin...are you there?"
"I'm here." The archaeologist assured her, coming up to her.
Crouching down in front of Vivi, Robin examined her before looking satisfied.
"It seems like all your injuries are gone! That's a relief."
Still having a migraine, Vivi tried to remember everything that had happened before she passed out.
"These people... they attacked us to get information and they tortured me."
Looking at her body, she seemed surprised that all her injuries were gone.
"I have the power of a Zoan, but it allows me to heal my injuries when I come into contact with lightning! It's incredible."
"Vivi..." Robin said, lowering his gaze. "I'm sorry! I know you told me not to tell those guys and... Plus, I was unable to help you."
Hearing this, Vivi made a slight pout.
"It's true that I didn't want others to be in danger just because you wanted to protect me! But, it's not like I hold it against you! You did that to protect me! Thank you!"
Then suddenly she squeezed her Broly, before wrapping her arms around his waist.
"And thank you too, Broly! You saved us and it's thanks to you that Robin and I are still alive! Thank you very much."
Surprised by her gesture, Broly remained motionless. What was Vivi doing to him? Was it a combat hold? Did she want to make him fall backwards?
Having never received a hug in his life, Broly was surprised by Vivi's gesture. However, not feeling the slightest pain, he simply remained motionless.
Seeing this, Robin felt a slight hint of jealousy again, seeing Vivi getting closer to Broly. Moreover, she now feared the man's reaction.
Yet, knowing that he had truly saved Vivi, she decided to say nothing and wait until Luffy and the others returned to tell them about the Saiyan's bestial strength.
Suddenly, hearing Pouky make another sound, she turned to him, while the dog stared at a dwelling that was visible in the distance. Accino's house was not far away anymore.
Continuing to dress Azelma, Yvelina heard someone enter her room.
"Mom... I'm home." Lil said, walking towards her.
"Did you have fun?" Yvelina asked, turning around. "Did you manage to capture any pirates?"
At that moment, Yvelina saw the two children who accompanied her daughter.
"Huh? Kids?"
"Shun-Day ? " Said Azelma.
"These are the catches I made today." Lil said proudly. "And I'm also the one who caught Mugiwara's jolly roger."
"Really? You did a good job, Lil." Yvelina asserted. "However, why are your prisoners here and free to do what they want?"
Stopping her proud smile, Lil made a more shy face appear as she made her request.
"Mom… would it be possible for them to become my servants?"
"Keeping your hands?"
"Yes! I would like them to work under my orders and with them, I would have company."
"Lil...are you bored here?"
"Yes... a little." Lil admitted. "There are no children here! That's why I want them to stay with me."
Glancing at Menma and Shun-Day, Yvelina seemed more interested in the former.
"That girl... if we capture her alive, we can get 200 million berries! Don't you want to just keep the other girl?
"No! Actually, it's Menma I want to keep by my side the most! She's super awesome because she can fly."
"And what am I?" Shun-Day growled. "A consolation prize sold with Menma?"
Continuing to stare at the two children, Yvelina looked undecided.
"Please! Please! Please! Please!" Lil repeated, taking one of her mother's hands.
Finally, letting out a weary sigh, Yvelina declared.
"I really can't refuse you anything! I accept! After all, I would probably regret sending a child to Impel Down."
" Really ? Thanks mom. "
"However, if you are unable to handle them, I warn you that they will leave this house immediately."
"Aye!" Lil assured him, already running towards the hallway. "In that case I'll take them to my room."
However, before Menma or Shun-Day could react, they felt Yvelina place her hands on their shoulders.
"As I just told you, I will not tolerate any bad behavior from you! Furthermore, I want to make something else clear to you."
Suddenly, Menma and Shun-Day felt like they could feel Yvelina's hands starting to suck some of their energy. Then, displaying a much scarier face, Yvelina declared.
"If you hurt my daughter... I'll kill you! Understood?"
Having the bad idea of meeting his gaze, the two children began to tremble and immediately nodded their heads.
"Perfect!" Yvelina said, smiling again. "In that case, you can follow my daughter! And above all, obey her properly."
" A ... Aye. "
For his part, being outside the building, Kalmec remained outside.
"How many people are here? And why is such a dwelling in a place like this?"
"Kalmec-san." An Olmec shouted, with an en-den mushi in his hand. "Group 2 is coming towards us! However, it is impossible to contact Group 3! Ever since they broke into the strange pirate ship, they have not answered our calls."
"What does that mean?" Kalmec growled. "They got beaten too? I can't believe it."
Yet he declared.
"We are doing as planned! We will capture the children in this building and then we will seize this strange pirate ship! We must at all costs learn all the secrets of this mysterious technology! With an army of ships like this, the Olmec people will be invincible."
"Aye!" Assured his companions.
"Huh?" Law said. "What did you say?"
"I said I refuse to take you to where their father is." Phoenix stated.
Having suddenly made this decision, the man now faced Law and Luffy.
"I don't understand you." Bruno said. "Do you still want to work for these guys? They wanted to capture you, though."
"I'm not stupid," Phoenix assured. "I know now that these guys won't let me work for them! But I refuse to let my crew be in danger! In that case, we're going to leave this labyrinth and go as far away as possible."
" Huh ? " Said Luffy. " Et your Jolly-roger ? "
"Tssss! It's just a piece of cloth." Phoenix stated. "It's not like we'll need it anymore anyway! We're not pirates anymore."
Hearing this, Jiro finally screamed.
"IN THIS CASE, YOU ARE NO LONGER MY CAPTAIN."
Surprised, Phoenix turned to him, as the child cried tears of anger.
" Jiro ? "
"You're not my captain anymore! Because you're not Puzzle Phoenix! Are you a coward? My captain would never behave like that! Rather than rub shoulders with someone I don't know, I'd rather go fight and get our Jolly-Roger! I know our real captain would never leave him in the hands of our enemy."
"Don't be stupid," Phoenix retorted. "If you go there, you'll die."
"I don't care." Jiro retorted. "I'd rather live like a pirate and die brave than live like a coward and run away from danger! That's exactly what my captain would have said! And I know Vigaro would have thought the same thing."
Hearing this, Phoenix clenched his fists.
"Shut up! This is all ridiculous! To die rather than live? To fight to get back a stupid jolly-roger? To become the future pirate king? This makes no sense."
"It's what you're saying that doesn't make any sense." Luffy retorted.
Surprised, Phoenix looked at him, while the pirate assured.
"It's the adventure and danger that make the pirate life so much fun! Who wants to live a boring life without any risk? It's the thrilling adventures that make us want to live more."
Looking at Phoenix, he asked him.
"Have you forgotten the reason why you wanted to be a pirate?"
"The reason?"
Shaking his head, Phoenix retorted.
"I wanted to be a free man! But what good is freedom if I have to watch my friends die?"
Continuing to look at her, Luffy declared.
"Ultimately, you're right... you don't deserve to be considered the future Pirate King."
" What ? "
Pointing at himself, Luffy stated.
"If you don't have the courage to face danger, you don't deserve to be a pirate! And that's why I'll be the one to become the Pirate King."
"I think you're being very arrogant, Mugiwara-ya." Law retorted.
However, suddenly jumping on Luffy, Jiro will tell him his cheeks.
"Don't talk nonsense! It's Puzzle Phoenix who will become the king of the pirates! Of course, today he is no longer the man I knew but... I know that one day he will be the one who will be the master of the oceans."
Hearing this, the other pirates looked at each other, before pointing their weapons at Luffy and Law.
"Yeah! He's right."
"We will not forgive those who dare to insult our captain."
"Our captain is the most powerful man in this world and he will become the king of the pirates."
Standing still, Phoenix watched as his companions positioned themselves between him and the other two captains. Even Stencen drew his own sword.
"If we were forced to bow our heads to the enemy, it was only to allow our captain to rise again, like a true phoenix." The man said. "And when that is done, we all know that he will be even more powerful than before! And we are weak, we will continue to fight alongside him! Because we are the valiant crew of Phoenix."
"YEAH!" The other pirates roared.
Seeing them much more motivated than before, Bruno remained leaning against the mast of the boat, while displaying a slight smile.
"At least Phoenix can still claim to have a loyal crew."
For their part, still cut into pieces, Campacino and Brindo began to laugh.
"You are so ridiculous."
Then, suddenly, letting a red and blue aura appear between them, they used their powers to project themselves backwards. Then, acting like a multitude of magnets, each of the pieces of their bodies stuck back together as they took back their original forms.
"Perfect!" Campacino said. "We're back."
Then, propelling himself towards Luffy, he grabbed a knife, which he aimed at the pirate.
"The blade of this weapon is made of seastone! Mugiwara, I will have your head."
Immediately, Bruno prepared to summon his puppet. However, a chain was faster than him. Surprised, Campicino felt the chain wrap around his neck, before being pulled by a superhuman force.
Having targeted him, Phoenix saw him heading towards him and once he was in front of him, he lifted his leg and let his knee hit Campacino's face.
With his nose crushed, the man was thrown back and collapsed on his back.
" ONII-SAN ! " Said Brindo.
For their part, the Phoenix Pirates stared at their captain, as he clutched his precious chain in his hands.
"I... I REFUSE TO SEE ANOTHER FRIEND DIE BECAUSE I'M WEAK."
Staring at Luffy, he stated.
"But I also refuse to let one of my comrades die because I refuse to fight! And I refuse to be the only one who remains inactive when the honor of my crew is tarnished."
Suddenly, he aimed his chain around Luffy, who wrapped around his arm. Wanting to immobilize him, Phoenix declared.
"I refuse to let Vigaro die for nothing! Mugiwara... by daring to say that you will be the new pirate king, you mocked the death of my friend! I refuse to let this go unpunished."
Then, he pulled Luffy with all his strength towards him. Letting out a cry of surprise, Luffy felt his feet leave the ground, as he found himself in front of Phoenix. Closing his fist, the man targeted his face. Nevertheless, Luffy used his second hand to stop his opponent's fist.
Gripping the man's hand to keep him from moving, Luffy began to smile at him.
"So you want to continue being a pirate?"
"What I want is to be a respectable man, who never abandons his own." Phoenix retorted, raising his leg.
Getting hit in the chin, Luffy was forced to back away, before getting into a fighting stance. Seeing this, while appearing angry, Campacino seemed to hate this situation.
"They dare to ignore our presence? They will pay for it."
However, he felt his body start to move on its own, as he found himself outside the pirate ship.
" What ? "
Bringing his brother to him, while he was now on a block of ice, Brindo was the one who had kept his brother away from the pirates.
"Brindo? What are you doing?"
In response, his brother looked into the distance and saw a dwelling.
"Our home is over there! It's obvious that if we fight those guys again, we'll only lose again! If you ask me, we should go find the others and think of a new strategy."
Growling in anger, Campacino seemed against this plan. However, not wanting to incur their father's wrath if he lost again, he was forced to admit that his brother was right.
"Those pirates only gained a slight reprieve," he said, before running back to where he lived.
For their part, seemingly completely forgetting the two twins, Phoenix and Luffy continued to stare at each other. Luffy remained perfectly still, while Phoenix twirled his chain at full speed.
"I will become the king of pirates." Luffy affirmed. "And I will never let a coward like you stop me."
"I'm not a coward." Phoenix retorted. "I'm Puzzle Phoenix! Never forget that name."
Suddenly, attacking at the same time, Phoenix threw his chain towards Luffy, while the other pirate propelled his fist towards his opponent.
" PISTOL ! "
Crossing, Luffy's fist and Phoenix's chain only brushed against each other, before continuing on their way. Then, Phoenix's chain struck Luffy's face, while Luffy's fist sank into Phoenix's abdomen.
Immediately, Luffy stumbled back several meters. However, he managed to stop and remained standing.
Instead, feeling his feet leave the ground, Phoenix flew backwards, before crashing against the mast of his ship. Letting out a cry of pain, he spat out blood, before collapsing to the ground.
" CAPITAINE ! "
