Boating Troubles
The episode begins with a shot of the hot, beautiful sun. Zooming out, it reveals clear skies overlooking the beautiful, blue ocean.
Everything appears to be normal, but then a small yacht with Cocoa, Bailey, Finley, and Candi appears. It is shaking violently in the choppy waves, with all four horses struggling to hang on.
Bailey: UNCHILL! THIS IS SO UNCHILL!
Candi: (Holding on to her selfie stick in one hoof while holding onto a railing with the other) Well, horsepals, looks like this is Candi's Corner's last vlog! ALWAYS REMEMBER ME!
Finley: AGH! I just don't know what went wrong!
Cocoa: (Looks worriedly at Finley and then the camera) Betcha wonderinghow we ended up here, huh?
(Wild Manes theme plays)
The episode cuts to earlier in the day. Cocoa and Candi are walking down the beach when they notice a yacht at the docks. With curious looks on their faces, they trot up the dock to see Finley and Bailey on the yacht.
Candi: Howdy, horsepals! What are you two up to?
Bailey: Hey Candi! Perla asked if we could take her yacht out for a spin!
Cocoa (raising an eyebrow): And you're driving the yacht?
Bailey (shaking her head): Nope! Finley here's driving! I'm just here because I know the waves around here more than anypony else!
Finley nods as she unties the boat, dropping the rope from her mouth.
Finley: Okay Bailey! We're ready to head out!
Candi then flips out her phone on a selfie stick
Candi: Welcome back to Candi's Corner! We're here with Perla's yacht, being taken out on the ocean by Finley AND Bailey! Isn't this exciting?! (Makes a dramatic face for the camera)
As the boat is about to disembark from the dock, Cocoa scratches her chin with her hoof before a thought enters her head.
Cocoa: Hey Finley! Can Candi and I come along? We'd love to see the ocean!
Finley thinks for a moment, and then shrugs.
Finley: Sure, why not? Just be very careful and don't touch anything! Perla said this boat is very expensive!
Cocoa and Candi cheer before hopping on the yacht. The yacht then exits the dock, heading out of the bay area.
The camera then cuts to the boat in the middle of the ocean. A couple of seagulls fly overhead as Finley stays dutifully occupied at the steering wheel. Bailey scans the horizon, making sure the waves are calm. Cocoa and Candi, meanwhile start exploring the interior and exterior of the yacht. Cocoa is in the kitchen as she looks around in awe.
Cocoa: Wow… Perla's yacht is amazing! (Cocoa looks to find an advanced hot cocoa maker). She even has a Hot Cocoa Maker 3000!
Candi, meanwhile, shows off the ocean on her selfie stick.
Candi: Hey there, horsepals! It's your gal, Candi, on a yacht in the middle of the ocean! Look how beautiful and sparkly it is!
The scene then cuts to Cocoa trotting up to Bailey on the bow of the yacht.
Cocoa: Soooooo… why did Perla want you and Finley to take her expensive yacht out into the ocean?
Bailey senses Cocoa's confusion and smiles.
Bailey: Yeah, I was taken off guard too. But since Perla's not always in Wild, she wanted to entrust its care to her horsepals. And since being on a yacht was so chill, I couldn't pass her up.
Cocoa nods.
Cocoa: Okay, that makes sense. But I didn't know Finley had a boating license.
Bailey: Neither did I! I didn't press for details, though. Didn't want to disturb her vibe, you know?
Cocoa thinks for a moment, then leaves to go see Finley in the cabin. Finley is squinting as she grips the steering wheel with her hooves, ready to take directions from Bailey.
Cocoa: Pretty nice boat Perla's got here, Finley!
Finley nods, laughing.
Finley: I know! I just love driving it out in the open ocean! Good thing Bailey's here to guide me though or I'd be totally lost!
Cocoa: You have a boating license I presume?
Finley: Oh, yeah! I've had that for like, ages! I just rarely get to use it!
Finley takes a boating license out of her nearby bag and shows it to Cocoa. It's legitimate, showing that Finley's had a boating license for three years now.
Cocoa is quite shocked by this.
Cocoa: How come you don't have a boat, then!? We could've been going out on the ocean every week!
Finley laughs, a bit embarrassed.
Finley: Yeah… Turns out maintaining boats is super expensive and I don't have a lot of time on my hooves to go out as much anymore. Plus, the last time I drove a boat, I kinda… totaled it.
Cocoa: (Eyes going wide as the camera zooms in on her) WHAT?!
Camera returns to Finley.
Finley: (Waving a hoof) Don't worry! I just got a little lost and accidentally drove too close to some rocks! Nopony got hurt and it was cheaper to sell the boat for scrap than fix it, so that's what I did!
Cocoa: (In the most deadpan voice) Great, I feel SO much better now!
Finley: Ah, cheer up Cocoa! With Bailey guiding me around, absolutely nothing can go-
The boat stops moving as the sound of the engine sputtering is heard. Cocoa and Finley exchange worried glances as Bailey enters the room confused.
Bailey: Surfing saddles, Finley! Why'd you shut the engine off?
Finley: I didn't! I've been at the steering wheel! Something must have happened to the engine!
Bailey (Nodding): You two go back there and check. I'll keep watch up here!
Cocoa and Finley trot to the back of the boat where the engine room is. They find a stressed out and sheepish Candi there when they arrive.
Candi (Nervously): Hey there….horsepals… engine sure did shut off, right?
Cocoa: Candi? Did you do something to the engine?
Candi (Trying to avoid eye contact): Um…
Finley: Candi! I won't be mad if you messed something up, but this is PERLA'S boat! Tell me what happened!
Candi (Flipping out her selfie stick): Well, I was showing off the engine room on my vlog, and I kinda….
Candi replays the video she was taking. She, Finley, and Cocoa crowd around the screen.
Candi: Well, horsepals, this has got to be the fanciest yacht I've ever been on! (Grins as she leans in towards the screen and starts backing up in the room) Just check out all the cool stuff in here! How does it all even-
Candi accidentally bumps her flank onto a button at the very end of the engine room. The loud engine next to her in the video is heard sputtering before dying. Candi looks at the camera with a terrified look on her face.
Candi: Um… I'll be right back.
The video then ends. Finley, Candi, and Cocoa look to the end of the room to see the button Candi accidentally pressed. Coming closer reveals the writing "Engine choke."
Finley (Laughing): Aw, it's okay, Candi! You just accidentally pressed the engine choke!
Candi (Relieved): Oh! Thank goodness!
Cocoa: Engine choke? What in Wild does that mean?
Finley: It just cuts the engine off! We just need to restart the engine and then we'll be back to riding!
Cocoa: Oh! Good, I guess!
As they're about to make their way back to the main cabin, however, the boat suddenly lurches. The three horses scream, barely able to stay on their hooves as they struggle to maintain their balance.
Cocoa: What was that? I hope Bailey didn't decide to move the boat!
Finley: The engine's still off! This is something else!
Intense orchestra music starts playing. All three horses race their way back to the cabin, being sprayed by choppy waves in the process. Another sudden lurch forward, however, causes all of them to tumble into a pile forward, bursting into the cabin. Bailey is sprawled out at the controls, being on both the steering wheel with her front hooves while frantically pushing the start engine button with her back hooves.
Bailey: (seeing her friends roll in) I don't know what happened! I was just waiting here in the cabin and the ocean was like (making dramatic faces as she describes the sounds), swish, swash, crash!
Candi, Cocoa, and Finley frantically get back on their hooves. Finley takes the steering wheel and tries to maintain control of the boat while Bailey tries to start the engine. The camera shows the outside of the boat, bringing it to the frame that began the episode.
Bailey: UNCHILL! THIS IS SO UNCHILL!
Candi: (Holding on to her selfie stick in one hoof while holding onto a railing with the other) Well, horsepals, looks like this is Candi's Corner's last vlog! ALWAYS REMEMBER ME!
Finley: AGH! I just don't know what went wrong!
Cocoa: (Looks worriedly at Finley and then the camera) I think you're all caught up now. Finley, can you get us out of here?!
Finley: I'm trying! The boat is rocking too fast!
Bailey continues to try and start the boat engine as the mares continue to hang on in the choppy water.
Bailey: It won't start! WE'RE GONNA DROWN!
Suddenly then, the waves eerily stop. All four horsepals cling onto whatever they're holding, unsure of what to do.
Suddenly, next to the yacht a white submarine surfaces. The hatch opens and surfaces Perla in a wetsuit.
Everypony except Perla gasps in unison.
All (Except Perla): PERLA!?
Perla takes in the scene of all of her friends desperately hanging onto her yacht.
Perla (Confused): Hello, Finley, Candi, Bailey, Cocoa? I just came out here to see how you guys were doing handling my yacht. I saw some pretty big waves going on out here, so I rushed over to make sure all of you were okay!
Perla then notices the boat is silent.
Perla: Is…. The engine off?
Finley (nervously): Um…. No?... I mean….. uh….
Candi (Shouting): I ACCIDENTALLY SHUT THE ENGINE OFF!
Bailey (Shouting): I COULDN'T GUIDE US OUT OF THE CHOPPY, TOTALLY UNCHILL WATER!
COCOA (Shouting): I WAS SCARED WE WERE GONNA DROWN!
Finley collapses onto the floor.
Finley: I'm so sorry, Perla! You trusted us with the boat and I failed you!
Perla smiles and touches Finley's hooves with her own.
Perla: Failed me!? The boat's still in one piece, isn't it? And I can replace the yacht. I can't replace all of my wonderful horsepals!
Feeling better, Finley rises to her hooves. Cocoa, Bailey, and Candi all let go of the boat and stand up as well.
Perla: Well, now that we're out here, there's only one thing left to do now!
Cocoa: What's that?
Perla (Flips out a pair of sunglasses): YACHT PARTY!
The scene changes to Bailey, now in a wetsuit, excitedly jumping in the water. Tropical music plays as Candi and Finley share a couple of smoothies on some deck chairs. Perla and Cocoa are relaxing on inflatable tubes, with the latter now wearing a teal and black wetsuit and sunglasses as well.
Cocoa: You know Perla, I gotta ask: how are you able to afford a yacht AND a submarine?!
Perla (Giggling): A mare like me has her ways.
Cocoa shrugs, not wishing to press further. After a couple of seconds later, Perla speaks.
Perla: I wonder what was causing those waves. I didn't see anything near you or on my submarine's sonar.
Cocoa thinks hard for a moment, then shrugs again.
Cocoa: Who knows? Maybe a sea monster?
Both mares laugh. In the distance, unknown to the mares, a large creature resembling a giant squid can be seen disappearing under the ocean. The episode end credits then play.
