Comedia, Peppermint, Sugar Cane, Sapphire, Diamond, the Marehearts, and Harmony all dipped their hooves into the magic dust Holly brought them, and the riders all got onto their horses, except Kara who got onto Sugar since Diamond was too little to carry her. Even the Bad Batch and their horses got into the action
Holly, on the other hand, rode on Rudolph, one of the reindeer who was able to escape from the pole.
"Everyone got their Santa dust on?" Holly asked to confirm.
"Ready when you all are!" Omega said.
"Ready to save Life Day!" Gabby said.
"No one's gonna ruin the holidays on my watch." Comedia said, ready to go.
"Are you certain you're able to do this?" Ki-Adi said.
"Emeraldi may not be my favorite mare, but I'm not gonna let her go down in history as the mare who destroyed Heartmas."
"And my little sister has turned into her biggest fear." said Peppermint. "We can't let it spread to other kids this way."
"Alright everyone. On my count!" said Holly. "Rudolph."
Rudolph stamped his two front hooves.
"On Crescent. On Carousella!"
Holly called the names of each horse to signal them to stamp their front hooves as Rudolph did, and we she said, "Go!" They all began running and following the red-nosed reindeer into the air. Even the equines without wings were able to take off in flight as the dust was magical in more ways than one.
And off the Jedi and equines went to save the holidays.
But when they got to the workshop...
Everyone gasped.
The workshop was a mess! The toys were destroyed, there were broken candy canes everywhere, and the Kringles' tree was knocked over with shattered ornaments all over the floor.
"Be careful, kids." said Padme. "There are a lot of broken shards to hurt yourselves on."
"Those two are going to be on the naughty list for life for sure." Caroline said.
"Hey, Firework's a good filly." Peppermint said. "And she's under a spell."
"My father's a forgiving guy." Holly said. "And Emeraldi, there's a lot more to her than you realize, Comedia."
That confused Comedia even more, but there was no time for explanations.
Holly found a map of the workshop and found all possible places the elves could have been hiding or locked up.
"Kids, Qui-Gon, you guys come help me free my dad." she instructed. "The rest of you, Grownups, you free the elves and see if you can find my dad's list."
The kids and the adults split up and looked all around the workshop. Sure enough, there were elves hiding fearfully in various places, some of them with their hair turned white with fear.
"Don't be scared." Padme said gently to comfort the elves. "We're here to help you."
Qui-Gon accompanied Holly and the children to what looked like a jail where the big man himself was being held.
"Daddy!" Holly exclaimed, seeing her father imprisoned. She ran up to the bars and took his hand "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Where is your mother?"
"Rudolph's looking for her now. But the workshop is a mess!"
"We haven't seen the villains yet," said Boba. "But our parents are looking for the list to protect it."
Lamenta licked the bars of the prison, as they looked like candy canes. But began spitting and scraping her tongue when she found they weren't made of candy canes.
"Yuck! These bars are definitely not like the Christmas jails in movies." Lamenta said.
"Nope. Even we don't make jails out of candy." Holly said.
"I can handle this." Qui-Gon said, grabbing the bars and pulling them right out to make an opening for Santa to exit.
Comedia started sweeping up some of the broken ornaments with her tail.
"These poor elves. And this poor workshop." Comedia said.
"Indeed, it is a disaster." Ki-Adi said.
"I haven't seen any place this big a mess since that time Vicki Miraj trashed her room at the Super Suite Hotel." Magenta said. "All that's missing is puke on the floor."
"Gross!" Hunter said, looking around.
Sugar Cane came up to a door that looked like it'd been tampered with and tried to push it open, but it didn't move. So, she turned back and kicked it open with all her might.
Sugar went inside and found a box where inside there should have been a scroll, but there wasn't.
"Uh oh!" Sugar said. "They already got the list!"
"That's not good." Obi-Wan said. "The villains could be anywhere by now."
Obi-Wan contacted Anakin and Carmine on his comm.
"Boys, the list has been stolen."
"Oh no!" the twins said together.
"We've found and freed the elves at least." Caroline said.
"And we've got Santa Claus." Gabby said, joining in.
"Holly," said Anakin. "Is there any way we can find out where the villains might be going?"
"Yes, there is!" Holly said.
"Listen, everyone." said Santa. "There's more than one list. In one of the drawers where the stolen list was, there should be a list with the addresses of everyone I visit, and the order which I travel."
Peppermint and Sugar looked around, and sure enough, there was a list of every address in the galaxy from Coruscant to Enchantra.
"Wow, that's a lot of addresses!" Peppermint said.
The two equines brought the list to everyone else, and they came up with a strategy. Ki-Adi, Comedia, the oldest twins and their wives would ride with Sapphire, Harmony, Peppermint, and Sugar and check a certain number of houses for the villains, the Batchers and the kids would stay at the pole and help the elves remake all the broken presents, and Carousella, Magenta, Remix, and Crescent would gather as many Jedi and horses as they could to help Santa deliver the presents once the villains were defeated.
"Remember," said Qui-Gon. "The mariclavas are in Firework's blanket and Emeraldi's tiara. Destroy those objects to release the moth, cast the Luminesk spell, and they will turn back to normal."
Once everyone was clear on the plan, they declared it was time to save the holidays.
"Let's keep it moving!" Tech called. "We need eight hundred more presents done and we only have two-point-four-eight hours if we hope to make even one third of the deliveries by midnight."
"We're working as fast as we can!" Echo said, putting together another set of wind-up toys. "Wrecker! Pinto! Stop eating the candy canes!"
Wrecker and Pinto froze, both of them with their cheeks stuffed with candy canes, bits of them on their faces.
"Wrecker, go help with the plushies." Hunter said. "Pinto, go help Banjo round up the reindeer."
"Yes, Sir!" they said before rushing to their stations.
Crosshair tested one of the water pistols by squirting Maybelle in the flank!
"Ahh!" Maybelle yelped. "Crosshair!"
"This one works good." Crosshair chuckled.
"Keep that up, and I'll get Santa to put you on the naughty list!" Maybelle snorted.
Meanwhile, the youngest children helped the elves with making sure the plush toys were extra cuddly, and any toy that was requested via letter with a drawing matched the picture each child sent in to ensure it was just right.
Kara took on completing the more complexly built presents with her super speed. With her speedy reading skills and ability to combine speed with efficiency, the presents would be all ready in no time.
"Looks like Lee Ali asked for a swan plushie." Lamenta said, looking at the drawing her best friend included in her letter to Santa. "Cute."
"Ouch!" Wrecker cried as he poked his finger for the third time helping to sew a teddy bear for a boy named Mikey Turman.
"Maybe leave the sewing to the professionals, Wrecker." said Garland, one of the elves.
"Got another droid coming up." Gabby called, finishing another toy droid.
Omega laughed as she was licked by a puppy someone asked Santa for.
"Good thing Santa didn't deliver any of you yet." Omega said, scratching another puppy's ears.
The hard part for Omega was getting the puppies to sit still long enough for her to tie a bow around their collars. And one puppy escaped.
"Come back here, puppy!" Omega exclaimed, running after the puppy.
"I got him!" Kara said, zipping in and catching the puppy before returning to help remake the presents really quickly with her super speed.
Boba sighed, getting tired from wrapping so many gifts. "Phew! I hope the grownups are able to stop those villains so that all this remaking and wrapping isn't all in vain." said Boba.
The house hunting team split up across the first homes on Santa's list. Just in case, the elves had just enough time to make some of the gifts before they left so if the villains weren't there yet, they could at least deliver those.
Caroline didn't have any luck at the houses she was assigned. Parents had already been terrified by Scare Mare, and the tree and stockings were destroyed by Queen of Mean.
Luckily, Caroline had their replacement gifts and some magic dust to help heal the parents.
"Don't worry, little ones. Santa wouldn't let you down before, and this year is no different." Caroline said, giving the kids their presents.
The same thing happened at Carmine's houses. No villains, just a big mess to fix so he could deliver the gifts. And the same went for Anakin and even Padme.
"No luck finding the villains." said Anakin. "but the kids and their parents are fine at least."
That just left Ki-Adi and Comedia as they stopped at an apartment building somewhere on Naboo.
"No luck here either." Comedia said, sniffing around while Ki-Adi left the kids their gifts.
Just then, a scream came from an apartment a few doors down.
"The villains are here!" Ki-Adi said.
Comedia rushed out with her rider behind her as he contacted the others.
Scare Mare was tormenting the Hartem family, Lee Ali's family, while Queen of Mean destroyed their decorations and tormented Yappy.
The voorpak pup whimpered at the sight of the scary pony.
Lee Ali's mother tried to scare off Scare Mare with a broom, but Firework bit the broom in half with her sharp fangs and growled.
"Don't hurt my puppy!" Lee Ali demanded.
Queen of Mean smirked at Lee Ali and kicked the poor pup into a corner.
"Yappy!" Lee Ali cried, rushing to Yappy. Luckily, he wasn't badly injured, but the poor thing did hurt his paw.
"You're a big meanie!" Lee Ali said.
"No one ever made it in this world being nice, little lady." Queen of Mean growled. "And once I've finished taking everyone's holiday cheer, they'll finally realize how worthless this so-called nice list really is."
"Why are you being so mean?"
"Because there are people like you who are weak and put in this world to serve and worship people like me, who are born rich and should never have had that taken away from some cousin who was wrongfully made ruler when that should have been my father, thus making me first heir."
"And what you're doing now just proves you are unfit to lead any kingdom." said a voice Queen of Mean recognized.
Queen of Mean turned around and there she saw her younger sister.
"I'm the one you're mad at, Emeraldi. Leave Lee Ali and her family alone." said Comedia.
"You..." growled Queen of Mean. "You took everything from me! You cost me any chance I had at ever being more than a Lady! Any chance I had at being queen."
"Look, I get it, Emeraldi, you're angry." Comedia said. "But being angry is no reason to destroy the holidays for everyone else. We used to be so close. What happened?"
"You happened! Scare Mare! Get her."
But just before Scare Mare could attack Comedia, Master Mundi Force-pushed the clavatized unicorn and lured her outside to give Comedia time to face her sister.
Comedia shot some magic at her sister and tried to get her tiara.
"Get out of here!" Comedia told the Hartems. "Hide!"
The Evermare sisters got at each other's throats hard, but Comedia kept trying to reason with Emeraldi.
"Emeraldi, listen to me. The way you're acting is wrong!" Comedia said.
"Why should I listen to you? You're just a clown."
"But I'm not joking now. Can you honestly say you've never wanted to have a good laugh in your life?"
"I've had plenty of good laughs just looking at the commonfolk. Your purposeful attempts to be ridiculous are just that."
"And that's just the problem! You think anyone who smiles or doesn't need gold and jewels to feel good about themselves is beneath you, and you laugh at them for it!" Comedia said.
"You were fortunate to be born into this family, and you shamed us with your clowning about!" Emeraldi said.
"It's not my fault I was born a silly-corn!" Comedia said. "And you and our parents treated me like dirt since before I can remember!"
"You spend all your time making a fool out of yourself!"
"I spend my time making people laugh while you were being a selfish entitled princess!"
"Selfish?! I've been stuck being perfect my whole entire life" Emeraldi said. "And you messed everything up for me just with your presence!"
"It's not as bad as you think. You can still live with Cousin Reigna if you just ask her nicely. Maybe she'll even find you a rider if you just ask her."
"You want bad? Mother and Father are getting divorced because of you!"
That shocked Comedia. Her parents divorcing was one thing she was unaware of.
"Okay... the divorce, I didn't know about. But that's not my fault. They chose to divorce, that's their decision, but don't you dare try to pin it on me."
"I will pin who I please!" Emeraldi said, blasting Comedia with magic from her tiara, knocking Comedia's beanie off her head.
Comedia snorted an angry snort and tackled Queen of Mean.
"Well, for now I'm pinning you down." Comedia said, using her magic to take the tiara. "If this is the kind of pony you really are, then you're not fit to be a queen, a princess, a lady, or my sister."
And Comedia smashed the tiara against the wall, smashing it and releasing the mariclava, allowing Comedia to blast it with the Luminesk spell.
Meanwhile, Ki-Adi and the rest of the team were outside when Scare Mare was forced outside.
Anakin tried catching Scare Mare in a bunch of vines, but she started chewing on them and started trying to tackle the adults. Carmine tried to charm her with a siren song, but she roared.
"Let us handle this!" Peppermint said.
Sugar and Peppermint approached Scare Mare.
"Firework!" said Peppermint as Scare Mare growled at her. "It's okay. It's us. Your big sisters."
Scare Mare seemed to stop growling for a moment when her sisters didn't flinch or shudder at her beastly appearance.
"Firework, we get it." Sugar said. "You were afraid of the legend of Krampus, and now Mariverde has turned you into the very thing you were afraid of. But this isn't you."
"You're a good mare, Firework." Peppermint said. "You're our little sister. And you don't spread fear to other kids. That's not you. You're the light of our family. Dad's little spitfire."
Scare Mare started to lay on the ground as Padme started to gently stroke her muzzle, and Peppermint sang a special lullaby that comforted Firework and her sisters when they were small.
A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you will lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling through
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true
And while Scare Mare was distracted, Caroline managed to take the cloak off of Scare Mare and pull a loose thread on it, making it unravel. And Carmine cast Luminesk on the moth, turning Firework back to normal.
"Huh? What? Where am I?" said Firework, looking around.
"We'll explain later." Sugar said. "Right now, we got a holiday to save."
Everyone returned to the North pole just as the elves were finishing the last of the presents. Carousella and Crescent came back with every Jedi they could gather and their horses as well as any other Jedi without horses and any horses willing to help. They were all given a list of who got which presents, and everyone was ready to go, except, there was one problem.
"According to my calculations," said Brenetta, one of the routing elves. "There's only enough time to deliver half these gifts, even with our increased number of sleighs."
That didn't sound good. Everyone began to panic. No Santa had ever been late before. And if only half the presents were delivered, holiday spirit would shrink anyway. How could they fix this mess?
As everyone was debating on what to do, Kara started to brainstorm until she came up with an idea.
"Gabriella!" Kara said, rushing to her niece. "Do you have your spell book with you?"
"Yeah, why?" Gabby asked, taking it out.
Kara snatched it and quickly searched through it until she found the spell she was looking for.
"Everyone! I have a plan, and I'm going to need all of your help." Kara announced.
According to the spell Kara found in the book, this particular charm could temporarily transfer an Enchanted's magic to another holder. And with a complex amount of concentration, Kara could split it and temporarily set it to multiple users.
"If my calculations are correct, just a small bit of my speed combined with the horses' and the reindeer's natural speed and strength should be just enough to get them across their routes to deliver all the presents within the amount of time we have left before Life Day morning." Kara explained.
But Anakin looked at the spell and saw a logo that warned the spell was...
"This spell is a level twelve, and you've barely mastered level nine! It's dangerous." Anakin said.
"You don't think I read that part already?" said Kara. "I'd rather end up in the hospital than allow the entire galaxy to lose all of its holiday spirit. Now, we don't have time to argue about this. Let's go!"
Kara got the rest of her family to help her with the spell while everyone else got to loading the sleighs and attaching the horses' reins to the sleighs. Kara transferred small bits of her power to each of the horses and Santa's reindeer. Once they confirmed the magic was safely in them and would only last twelve hours, after which Kara's speed would return to her.
"Is everyone clear on their assignments?" Holly called.
"Yes, Ma'am!" Everyone called.
"Remember, everyone. The holidays are at stake. We got kids who worked hard to earn their spots on the nice list, and it's our job to make sure their wishes come true tonight! We must not let any one of them down! Now... everyone, move out!"
Holly rode with her father in the sleigh and signaled the reindeer to go.
"On Dasher. On, Prancer!"
"On, Sapphire!" Anakin commanded, snapping the reins on his sleigh. "On Carousella! On, Diamond!"
"Ready, Indira?" said Hunter.
"I was born ready!" Indira confirmed.
"Let's get this show on the road. I mean, in the sky!" Teatra cheered.
"On Harmony! On, Magenta!" Carmine commanded.
"On, Strawberry! On, Remix!" Mace commanded.
Everyone got their horses to start running and start flying, all the sleighs going in different directions at the speed of a shuttle on hyperspeed!
All across the galaxy, Santa Claus, the Bad Batch, the Jedi, and the royal family sped across neighborhoods, going from house to house, delivering presents to all the good children of the galaxy. They stuffed the stockings with care, placed the presents by the tree, even helped themselves to whatever cookies and milk were left for Santa now and then. Of course, as much as it hurt, they also had to put coal in a few naughty kids' stockings with a note saying Try Harder Next Year.
It took hours even with Kara's super speed, but soon the last present was delivered at last, and everyone was exhausted.
At the Naboo Palace, the Skywalkers, the Jinns, the horses, and the Batchers all found themselves in their rooms, in their beds, waking up like they'd been in a deep sleep.
"Huh?" Lamenta looked at the date and time on her phone. She shook Crescent awake. "Crescent, wake up! It's Life Day!"
Lamenta ran to her parents' room and jumped on the bed. "Mommy! Daddy! Wake up! It's Life Day!"
Anakin and Padme had a much rougher awakening since they had three kids who were already old enough to jump on the bed and shout for them to wake up.
Gabby also rushed to her grandparents' room!
"Grandma! Grandpa! Get up!" Gabby shouted, only for Qui-Gon to put a pillow over his head and snore again. So, she crawled under the sheets and started tickling him.
"Gabriella! Stop it! Okay, I'm up!" Qui-Gon laughed, getting up and out of bed.
Diamond even rushed to Kara's room and got her up and out of bed.
The entire family got up and was astonished when they entered the den to find the tree had a mountain of gifts for all of them all around it.
"Wow!" the kids gasped.
"Look at all the presents!" Diamond said.
"Looks like Santa didn't forget us." Carousella said.
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Gabby said, excitedly sliding down the rail. "Let's open presents!"
So, all the kids and Wrecker rushed down, eager to open presents and see what was in the stockings.
Kara was the last to get out of bed, and was still yawning a bit. Helping save the holiday and transferring her power to a herd of horses were all very exhausting. But, when she got downstairs, everyone noticed something different about her. And Kara was quick to notice the wide eyes on everyone's faces.
"What? Why is everyone looking at me like that?" Kara said. "Is my hair sticking up?"
"No, Aunt Kara." Omega said. "But... you might wanna look over your shoulder."
Confused, Kara did look over her shoulder, and to her great surprise a pair of beautiful wings as gold as sunshine appeared on her. Kara gasped. She couldn't believe this!
"They're so beautiful!" Padme said.
"She must've earned them for helping to save Life Day." Gabby hypothesized.
"It makes sense," said Boba. "It was her idea to give her speed to make sure no one's Life Day wish would go ungranted."
"You did good, Kara." Qui-Gon said, pulling his daughter in for a hug. "Having you as a daughter is the greatest gift I could ever ask for. This whole family is a gift greater than any material object."
"I couldn't have said it better." Shmi smiled, giving her sons each a kiss.
"Mom!" Anakin whined as the kids were giggling.
And this family wasn't the only one having a wonderful holiday morning full of miracles.
Comedia woke up in the Equinaro palace and shook Ki-Adi awake.
"Wake up, Daddy!" Comedia said, and this time, she didn't dismiss it when Ki-Adi questioned if she addressed him as her father.
"Should I not address you that way?" Comedia asked. "It's just... ever since I came home, you've been more of a dad to me than my actual dad ever was. And every time I addressed him as 'Dad,' it just didn't feel right."
But Ki-Adi smiled, and he hugged Comedia and said, "It's the best gift you could ever give me this Life Day. Or Heartmas, whichever you call it."
"Hey, Comedia!" Winter called, running by. "Aunt Reigna says it's time to open presents!"
Emeraldi nuzzled with Queen Reigna as she had a bag packed to go somewhere.
"I'll come back soon, Cousin. I just need to settle something first. But would you do me one favor and ask Master Mundi to keep watching over my sister?"
"Of course, Emeraldi. Take what time you need to figure things out. We shall have a space for you to come stay here in the palace if you wish it."
Master Plo got down on knee and presented Shaak with the ring he'd picked just for her.
"Will you marry me?" asked the Kel Dor.
"Of course, I will!" Shaak said happily as Plo slid the ring on her finger.
Ahsoka and the horses were so happy for them, and they gathered in a group hug as one big happy family.
"Let's see you top that!" Anakin smirked as he'd just beaten his high score on Dance Prance Revolution 4.0.
Gabby took on the next game, and managed to beat Anakin by two hundred points.
"Still can't beat your own kid at this game, can you?" Carmine chuckled.
"I haven't seen you beat Lamenta in this game."
"Touche."
Diamond dug through her stocking and found a lot of candy, but she was still looking among the boxes for the one present she really wanted. And then she finally found a box with her name on it among the still unopened gifts.
"You're really excited to open, aren't you?" Kara said, helping Diamond get the ribbon off her present. "Just don't eat the paper."
Diamond dug her teeth into the wrapping paper and ripped it off the box, and Kara opened it since Diamond had no hands. And Diamond was happily surprised when in the box she found...
"Mickey Mouse!" she cheered, picking up the plushie with her mouth and cuddling it.
"Is it as good as you hoped it would be?" Kara asked.
"It's what I wanted for Life Day..." said Diamond. "But, we had a great adventure together, and I get to spend the holiday with my Auntie Sapphire and lots of new friends. It's even better than I could've imagined."
Diamond ran up and cuddled with her princess, and Kara hugged her and said, "Merry Life Day, Diamond."
"Merry Life Day, Kara." Diamond smiled.
