Here we go again! Sorry it took awhile. The most recent chapter I posted to another of my stories took me longer than I expected to complete. On to the story!
Chapter 25: Reunion With One
Happy and Carla took to the sky together, Happy's Aera wings completely made of fire, whereas Carla's Aera wings were made completely of Light. Both Exceeds had six Aera wings, but neither of them noticed it. Carla looked at Happy and Happy nodded. Carla nodded back and said, "Heavenly Exceed, Celeritas Lucis!" Both Happy's and Carla's body felt lighter and they shot forwards faster than the eye can blink, vanishing from sight.
Carla asked, "How can we expect to find our group?" Happy replied, "Natsu doesn't really control his magic. Our best bet is to look for a path of destruction." Carla giggled and said, "That makes sense to me." Happy nodded and looked around for any sign of the group.
Happy and Carla had been flying for quite some time. Happy said, "We need to land. Our magic is going to run out soon." Carla nodded her agreement and Happy let his Aera wings vanish. As he approached the ground, he reactivated his Aera wings. He slowed down abruptly. His wings vanished again and he landed on the ground. Carla flew down towards him and asked, "Why do you have to be so reckless, Happy?!" Happy replied, "Style points." Carla shook her head and muttered, "Toms."
Happy asked, "Where do you think Natsu and them went after we left them?" Carla replied, "Probably somewhere near the Sabertooth Guild. My best guess is whoever kidnapped the guilds, since after Fairy Tail was rebuilt, our foes hid some of our friends there. So my best guess is that after Frosch and Lector investigated the SaberTooth guild, whoever kidnapped everyone put some SaberTooth Guild members there." Happy replied, "Makes sense to me. Let's head over to Gazania and check it out. Hopefully we find them there." Carla nodded her agreement and said, "We gotta keep heading East. Eventually, we will come across Gazania, and hopefully our group." Happy nodded and the two took to the sky after their magic recovered.
Happy and Carla flew east and saw an arrow pointing to the East. Carla said, "I think I was right, Happy!" Happy nodded his agreement and the two landed for the night. Happy quickly gathered firewood and made a fire. After Happy was satisfied with the fire, he swiftly fell asleep.
Carla went to sleep when the bushes rustled around her. Carla got to her feet swiftly, only to see a wolf walk out. Logan bowed his head and said, "Carla. Where is Happy?" Carla replied, "Getting some much deserved rest. What's going on? Actually, that was rude of me. How's the pack?" Logan chuckled and said, "The pack is well rested and the pregnant females have given birth. We are ready to fight at your and/or Happy's command." Carla nodded her appreciation and said, "Good. We may need help sooner rather than later." Logan bowed his head in respect and said, "Just say the word. We will always be there to help whenever you need us."
Carla said, "Dismissed. Go relax for once." Logan nodded his understanding and said, "As you wish, Carla." Carla watched Logan leave and took a deep breath as she said, "We will definitely need their help sooner rather than later. I just hope we suffer no casualties." Only time will tell." Carla's Precognition kicked in.
Carla's Vision:
Carla looked around and saw a battlefield littered with mangled, eviscerated, and bloody corpses. Carla choked on grief as she saw several familiar faces, still and cold as a frozen lake, with their eyes glazed over; the light from everyone's eyes, completely gone. She only saw Frosch, Lector, Happy, and herself still standing on the battlefield. All of them were covered in blood and Happy yelled a ferocious battlecry. The four leapt into combat, tears in all of their eyes as their killing intent increased drastically.
Back in the Present:
Carla gasped for breath as she looked around. Carla muttered, "What if we just show up and don't ask for help? I wonder if it's a different story. Hmmm." Carla forced her Precognition to kick in.
Carla's Vision:
Carla looked around and saw the same battlefield as before, but no bodies were in sight. She saw herself, Happy, Frosch, and Lector in the midst of a free for all with what appeared to be an infinite number of enemies. All of the Exceeds were covered in wounds, drenched in blood and sweat; as blood trickled from their wounds, causing the ground below them to become stained. Happy yelled a ferocious battlecry and yelled, "IT'S TIME TO SEND THESE FUCKERS PACKING! WE ARE THE FIRST AND LAST LINE OF DEFENSE FOR ALL OF FIORE! WE CAN AND WILL DO THIS! FOR WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER THAN ANYTHING THEY THROW AT US! AND THEY WILL NOT BREAK US OR OUR FIGHTING SPIRIT! WE WILL PREVAIL AS WE ALWAYS DO! IT'S TIME TO FINISH THIS JOURNEY! FOR FIORE!" Carla, Frosch, and Lector yelled, "AYE SIR!"
Back in the Present:
Carla muttered, "That vision seems like the best one, albeit the most challenging, but then again, everything's been challenging ever since Happy and I first discovered that Fairy Tail had been kidnapped. Everything has happened so damn fast." Happy's voice broke her train of thought. Happy asked, "Something on your mind dear?"
Carla looked at Happy's face and saw concern deep within his eyes and replied, "Weren't you sleeping? Nevermind. I'm fine love. Just trying to get an idea of what the future holds for us." Happy asked, "And what does our future hold?" Carla replied honestly and somberly, "Violence. No matter what choices we make. Violence." Happy replied, "It will end eventually. It has to." Happy gently made Carla look at him and continued, "We will get through this. Like we always do; I promise you that. Even if it takes my last breath, Fiore will be safe once again. I will not let you worry yourself over this. We can and will make it. There is no try, only success."
Carla smiled lightly and said, "Alright, Happy. I trust you." Happy flashed a bright smile and said, "Now. Let's get some much needed rest." Carla nodded her agreement.
The next morning, Happy woke up first. He looked around and smelled the faint scent of a wolf. Happy took another whiff of the air and said, "Logan was here. Hopefully good news." Happy gently prodded Carla awake. Carla awoke with a start and said, "That time eh?" Happy nodded. Happy and Carla took to the sky after eating.
Happy and Carla looked below them as they flew. Happy said, "I think I see Gazania ahead!" Carla exclaimed, "Wonderful! Hopefully our friends are there!" Happy nodded his agreement and Carla said, "Heavenly Exceed, Celeritas Lucis!" Happy and Carla shot forwards faster than a serpent strikes.
Happy and Carla slowed down as they flew over Gazania. Carla asked, "Where could they be?!" Happy replied, "They are Dragon Slayers. So my best guess is that they are probably eating. For some reason Dragon Slayers are always hungry." Carla said, "Good idea. Let's check popular restaurants." Happy and Carla landed softly and began to try to find their group.
An hour had passed and they were still searching. Happy sighed and said, "We have got to be getting close! There are only so many places to eat in Gazania!" Carla nodded her agreement when commotion near the town square drew both of their attention. Happy and Carla immediately ran towards the commotion.
As they arrived, a blast of fire flew over Carla's head. Happy immediately placed a fire shield over Carla and looked towards the source. Happy sighed in relief as he saw Natsu acting a fool like usual. Happy said, "Watch where you shoot fire Natsu!" Natsu looked around and said, "WHOEVER SAID THAT! I WILL FIGHT YOU HERE AND NOW!" Happy shook his head and said, "You wouldn't burn your best friend would you?" Natsu looked down and saw Happy. Natsu's eyes lit up as he ran over and said, "Happy! I see you made it back safely. As did Carla! Good!" Happy chuckled and said, "Indeed. Where are the others?"
Natsu replied, "They're waiting for me to get back so we can check out the Sabertooth guild. People have been saying that they get a feeling of dread and fear whenever they are around it." Carla walked up and said, "That can't be good. Prepare for a fight." Natsu nodded and said, "Come with me. I will bring you two to the rest of the group. Hopefully they haven't stormed the place without us." Natsu took off running. Happy chuckled and followed behind him, with Carla right behind him.
Well! I know it's short! But like I said, expect short until I get the story up and going again. Sorry it took longer than expected. But I had to get something out for you all! Next chapter will be action packed! Until then! HappytheExceed16, logging out!
