Enel

Backstory:

Enel was born and raised on Birka. Though it was his original home, Enel did not show any sign of love towards it, since after finding and eating the Goro Goro no Mi, he destroyed it without any hesitation but not before collecting two hundred Jet Dials from the island. Birka was said to be home to many strong warriors; they were, however, powerless before Enel. Afterwards, eight years prior to the current storyline, Enel and his loyal contingent of followers overthrew the then current ruler of Skypiea, Gan Fall, becoming the island's new ruler.

Enel maintained a personality cult over Skypiea, truly taking the mantle of "god" to its more literal sense. Though Skypiea still had a sense of peace and paradise, much like in any classic dystopia, it was a false paradise. If anyone dared speak out against Enel, or challenge his list of commandments, he would shoot a giant column of lightning down from the sky to effectively eliminate the dissenter.

Along with this, he forced the enforcers who worked under Gan Fall to build him a massive, flying ship called the "Maxim". Enel, after studying history within the Upper Yard, came to believe that the moon was the legendary land that he sought: an endless land of the sacred dirt, also known as "Fairy Vearth". This was the reason that he designed the Ark Maxim.

Song: ?

Within the regal confines of a majestic temple nestled in the Upper Yards of Skypiea, Enel, self-style deity, indulged in a moment of opulent pleasure and solitude. His eyes peacefully shut, he savored mouthwatering apples, relishing the tranquility. The serene atmosphere provided a brief respite, offering a momentary escape from the demands of his divine role.

As his keen observational skills unveiled the presence of an unwelcome intruder, Enel remained composed. With a tranquil gesture, he raised his arm and uttered,

"An intruder? They require punishment. El Thor."

Unleashing his divine powers, he dispatched a bolt of lightning from the heavens, descending upon the perceived intruder for righteous retribution. To Enel's surprise, the intruder proved more resilient than expected, seemingly unfazed by the thunderbolt's destructive power. Intrigued, Enel slowly opened his eyes and observed as a stunning blonde-haired woman, clad in revealing attire, gracefully hovered towards his temple. Her demeanor conveyed a palpable annoyance, her voice tinged with indignation.

"Pardon your manner! Is this how you treat a lady, shooting me with lightning?"

Enel emitted a dismissive scoff, raising his hand to point directly at his assailant.

"It is inconsequential to me whether you are man, woman, or child. None can withstand my power. Now, perish, pesky woman. El Thor!"

With a powerful surge of energy, he released a colossal bolt of lightning, its intensity surpassing the first, engulfing her in a blinding, radiant display that illuminated the expansive white cloud sky. Enel's eyes widened in astonishment, witnessing the woman standing unscathed amidst the scorched trench created by his formidable attack. With an effortless gesture, she brushed her shoulder, a silent display of her resilience.

"Your flamboyance is undeniable, yet 'Lightning Bolt' Phosphora's brilliance can never be outshined!"

She declared, exuding confidence as she struck a powerful stance. Unwilling to believe this woman can just shrug off his lightning, Enel used his Logia powers to zip across the air as electricity, before materializing over her as living lightning as he aimed his hand over the top of her head.

"100 Million Volt Varie!"

A giant discharge of electricity surrounded them, as he attacked her with a particularly strong technique.

"Cease your lightning theatrics, will you?!"

Phosphora commanded, summoning her enchanted bow. With a forceful blow, she landed a powerful strike on Enel's face, momentarily stunning him as he retreated in shock. Amazement washed over Enel as he realized that not only was she able to withstand his divine powers, but had also managed to strike him despite his Logia intangibility. Taking advantage of Enel's momentary stupor, Phosphora seized the opportunity to dash as a bolt of lightning, swiftly materializing and delivering a powerful strike with her bow to his gut. Enel crashed to his back, momentarily stunned by the impact.

A self-satisfied smirk adorned Phosphora's features as she gracefully twirled a strand of her luscious blond hair. Her tone resonated with a confident assurance as she declared,

"Just as I foretold, you cannot outshine me. Accept it. Acknowledge my superiority."

Rising effortlessly from his back, Enel gracefully landed on the roof of his temple, his gaze fixed intently on Phosphora, a curious blend of intrigue and caution.

"It appears you share a similar affinity for electricity. I wonder, what the hell are you, woman?"

With a lively flourish, Phosphora adopted another spirited pose.

"I am a divine being, the graceful stroke of lightning gracefully poised before unleashing the blinding flash of power. I am the epitome of divine electricity: 'Lightning Bolt' Phosphora!"

She then let out a chuckle, her laughter chiming like melodious bells as she awaited Enel's response.

Enel's brows furrowed with disdain as he scoffed.

"You claim divinity? There can be only one celestial sovereign of the heavens. It is my rightful prerogative to wield dominion over all who reside below, and bestow upon them the might of celestial authority! I am God Enel, and this sacrilege will not be tolerated!"

As his thunderous declaration reverberated through the atmosphere, sparks seemed to shimmer around him, signifying his wrathful resolve. Phosphora's laughter filled the air as she casually brushed off Enel's pronouncement, her eyes momentarily averting his gaze.

"You claim blasphemy? Please. I should be the one declaring as such. You weren't born to the gods like I was. You're just a man who thinks that just because he can make the zappy-zap and rumble the sky, that makes him a god. What a loser."

Enel's forehead and temples pulsated with visible frustration, his anger threatening to combust. Though he forced a strained smile, his words exuded an overt antagonism. He challenged with a sneer,

"Very well, 'goddess,' Since you insist on belittling my power, let's test the veracity of your claims. Prepare to be taught a lesson in humility. I shall demonstrate the consequences of defying your undeniable superior."

"If you say so."

Phosphora unleashed a voluminous shower of electrified arrows, but Enel nimbly transformed into lightning, allowing the first few arrows to pass through him harmlessly. In a seamless maneuver, he swiftly zipped from one incoming arrow to the next before materializing beside her. Striking with his golden staff, he delivered a potent blow to the side of Phosphora's head, exploiting his lightning-fast movement for a strategic and precise attack.

Phosphora launched another arrow strike aimed directly at Enel's heart. Yet once more, it sailed through the air, passing through his lightning-based form. In a lightning-fast motion, Enel darted towards Phosphora's side, executing an electrifying 'Varie' technique. A concentrated arc discharge erupted between his index fingers, delivering a powerful jolt directly to her head.

"50 Million Volt Varie."

Despite her inherent electrical absorption, the intensity of the jolt through her brain was undeniably discomforting. Phosphora swiftly attempted to counterattack with a swipe from her bow, but Enel evaded seamlessly, escaping her strike due to his lightning form.

"Ow! That's playing dirty, you mortal charlatan!"

Phosphora exclaimed, her voice laced with indignation at the underhanded tactic.

"Well, you see, I'm just following the fundamental principles of electricity. I'm simply adhering to the path that requires the least resistance to achieve victory. But you're proving to be a particularly resilient opponent than most."

Enel retorted, confidently believing his actions were justified due to his self-proclaimed divinity. Phosphora expressed her annoyance with a puffed cheek before morphing into electricity and ascending into the clouds. Enel followed suit, assuming the form of a bolt of lightning as he trailed behind. The battle escalated within the clouds, obscured from view, yet their clash was evident as the atmosphere became increasingly manipulated. The once clear blue sky darkened, storm clouds forming in response to their epic confrontation.

The sky darkened, and as the clouds rumbled with the intensity of their fight, vibrant lightning flashes illuminated the darkened landscape, their shadows intermittently visible within the storm clouds. The atmosphere crackled with the palpable tension of the clash, every few seconds revealing fleeting glimpses of the mighty silhouettes locked in a fierce struggle amidst the tempest. Enel's indignant outcry could be heard echoing in the air as he assumed his natural form once more, exclaiming,

"What?! Unacceptable! How dare you manipulate my own weapon against me!"

With superhuman strength, he shattered the confines of the ring, swiftly restoring the pieces into a formidable staff. However, during this momentary lapse in attention, Phosphora covertly cast a mystical spell upon herself, her head surrounded by a radiant sparkle of captivating, glamorous magic. Enel, harnessing the power of the storm clouds, lifted his hand, chanting,

"Mamaragan!"

Unleashing a tempestuous barrage of lightning bolts upon Phosphora, the intensity escalating with each strike. With extraordinary fortitude, Phosphora erected a defensive ball of electricity as it took the absorbed it all, the crackling energy coalescing into an unstable storm sphere. The unstable storm sphere finally reached its breaking point, unleashing a forceful explosion that shook the very foundation of Skypiea. The temple where their formidable duel had unfolded lay in ruins, reduced to rubble. Amidst the wreckage, a glimmer of light materialized, gradually congregating into the form of Enel.

"What a shame. You've brought devastation upon my sanctuary."

Enel remarked, his voice tinged with an undercurrent of apathy. Phosphora manifested anew, teleporting back with her lightning-swift maneuver. With a nonchalant air, she placed her hands on her hips and retorted,

"Uh, let's get something straight: that explosion was a result of your own attack. It's entirely unfair to, like, blame this destruction on me while I was simply defending myself."

Enel's dismissive scoff reverberated in the air as he declared,

"A god should never be held accountable. It is the lesser beings who should bear the blame. You, Phosphora, have brought this upon yourself. Had you perished sooner, this point of the fight could have been avoided. Now, prepare to face the consequences of your brazenness."

With a powerful drumbeat emanating from the ring fastened to his back, Enel unleashed formidable electrical beasts, unleashing,

"Hino! Kiten! Jamuburu!"

Amidst the chaos, Phosphora yelped as she fled the scene, morphing into a bolt of lightning as she scrambled to escape the relentless pursuit of the trio of attacks. Enel observed with a self-assured grin as the three beasts outmaneuvered Phosphora, converging upon her and precipitating a cataclysmic electrical explosion. His confidence soared, convinced he had vanquished her. Yet, it was his own arrogance that betrayed him at that moment, as Phosphora materialized behind him and launched a decisive bow strike upon his unsuspecting skull.

Enel let out a guttural grunt as he attempted a sweeping attack with his staff, missing his mark against Phosphora's elusive maneuvers. Undeterred, he pressed on, lunging at her with aggressive strikes, but found himself outfoxed as Phosphora cleverly evaded his attacks, delivering a decisive strike with her enchanted bow, leaving a gash across his chest that started to seep blood. Enel voiced his astonishment, exclaiming,

"How is this even possible?! I possess the ability to discern your innermost thoughts, yet you somehow manage to defy me time and again!"

His frustration with the unpredictable nature of their clash was evident. How could he, a god, be outwitted by a lesser being? Phosphora chuckled with satisfaction, her finger gently tapping her temple as she explained,

"Well, I had to think of something to counter your mind-reading abilities. I couldn't have you snooping through my thoughts, so I cast a spell on my brain. It's sending you false signals, while I keep my true intentions to myself. Rather clever, isn't it?"

Enel's mounting frustration surged, pushing him to reach his breaking point. Not only had Phosphora dared to harm and defy him, but she had also foiled one of his most trusted abilities. As the realization of losing seeped in, he unleashed a thunderous proclamation that echoed through the heavens:

"I am God Enel! Victory will never elude me, especially not by a counterfeit deity like yourself!"

Enel's body transformed into an awe-inspiring manifestation of raw energy, a colossal lightning Raijin figure radiating an electrifying aura. The air crackled with the sound of thunder as he bellowed,

"200 Million Volt Amaru!"

The sheer intensity of his presence, an embodiment of divine authority, filled the air with an intimidating presence, emanating with unyielding determination and untamed fury. Phosphora wore a determined expression, a spark of challenge flickering in her eyes. With a determined nod, she responded,

"Great, you're finally getting serious. Okay, let's see if your blasphemous boasts truly elevate you to the level of genuine gods. Come on, prove it to me."

Her confidence was not rattled by Enel's imposing form, bracing herself for what was about to unfold in this epic clash between gods. As Enel ascended into the storm clouds, he manipulated the energy to gather and form a colossal sphere, fusing the lightning into a tumultuous entity. Transforming his staff into dual tridents, he drove them into the sphere, declaring with a manic grin,

"You will experience this surge coursing through your very being! Allow me to illustrate the epitome of divine supremacy! Raigo!"

Two immense intersecting lightning bolts, their power and might immense, erupted from the sphere, crashing down upon Phosphora. The goddess cried out, the sheer electrical surge almost overpowering her ability to absorb it all. Undeterred, she pushed through the pain, flying through the lightning with a shield of magic. In a bold move, she pierced through the Raigo and thrust herself Into Enel's electrifying essence, challenging him from within.

"Huh? What is she doing inside me?"

Enel felt a shift within his form, perplexed by the goddess' actions. However, his confusion quickly turned to shock and consternation as he realized his power dwindling, his voltage being siphoned away.

"What… what are you doing?!"

Enel cried out, his voice tinged with panic. As Phosphora siphoned off Enel's power, his Amaru form gradually shrunk, culminating in a state where she now held him by the throat, suspended in the air. Her expression remained resolute, radiating confidence despite her smaller stature compared to Enel. Enel's voice echoed through the clouds, his desperation evident.

"You cannot do this to me! I am a god!"

His fingers clawed at her arm, desperately attempting to muster the force to overcome Phosphora. However, his power grew weaker, rendered impotent as she siphoned away his electricity. The disparity in strength was becoming increasingly apparent, leaving Enel vulnerable amidst the ethereal storm. Phosphora, exuding unwavering confidence, posed an incisive question as she smirked.

"Hehe, if you're a god, what does that say about me?"

Her eyes pulsed with a bluish-white radiance, and she unleashed a colossal surge of electricity, measured in tens of billions of volts, directly into Enel's being, harnessing the energy accumulated during their epic confrontation.

Enel's electrical resistance proved insufficient against the potency of the attack, as the divine magic amplifying Phosphora's assault overwhelmed his innate resilience. Enel's body succumbed to the overwhelming surge of energy, succumbing to the destructive effects of exposure to an exorbitant electrical force beyond his capabilities.

As Enel's demise echoed through the skies, his lifeless body plummeted to the ground below. Phosphora, now liberated from the ordeal, stretched out her arms, letting out a content sigh, and remarked,

"Well, that experience was electrifying. I should rest after that."

With graceful ease, she morphed into lightning, gracefully ascending into the heavens, ready to enjoy a tranquil respite.

Strength: Both wielded lightning impressive enough to be gods of their worlds, but only one could boast true divinity. If Enel could've used his strongest Raigo at Skypiea, that would've been a blast about 868 GT of TNT. But Phosphora could harm Pit, who is able to harm and withstand the power of opponents that can output 320 Teratons, about 369X stronger than Enel.

Speed: Weirdly enough, despite both being able to move as lightning, Phosphora is much faster than anything in One Piece. While Enel possesses a certain type of Observational Haki, letting him know what a person is thinking, Phosphora is millions of times faster. 8.9 million approximately. Even if we give Enel the benefit of moving at 33% light speed, that only makes the difference 26.7 million times more. She could literally zap circles around him without Enel noticing.

Skill: Phosphora has greater skill, as she's able to battle real angels and actual gods of her level, while Enel, despite capable of combat, is unable to win against someone who can consistently counter his main powers.

Experience: Again, Phosphora has a better reputation in combat, fighting kinds of foes that would eventually overwhelm Enel eventually once they get past his powers.

Powers: Enel does boast a wider range of abilities, having more practice with experimenting with his powers, but with Phosphora being able to absorb Enel's electricity, it doesn't really matter how broad his abilities are if she can safely absorb them.

The winner is Phosphora
