Blitz, Millie, Moxxie, and Octavia landed in the middle of a jungle from a portal to Hell. They were focused on one goal, getting to their target before Diago did. So they pushed through the bushes and trees of the landscape to find their destination, a ruined temple where Wesley was exploring. The crew hid behind some bushes as Blitz surveyed the area. They could see a small army of armed mercenaries walking around the entrance of the temple, around 10-15. As he scanned, he saw a lone merc on the far left side of the perimeter next to a thick bush. That was when an idea formed in his head.
"Ok, so here's what's gonna happen." Blitz said. "O, you're gonna go over to that one guy all by himself and stab him so he can scream. M , once the guys are distracted, you surprise them with your special teamwork and kill as many as you can. Octavia'll will join in too. When the party starts, I'll run straight into that temple, killing any mercs that get in my way, find our target, kill him, and shove the money we get in Dickbag's Douchey Douches face. Let's hope I don't run into any traps in there."
"Blitz, temples having traps is only a thing in movies." Moxxie said.
Blitz sighed. "Well, there goes my plan on avoiding wall darts and spikes. Whatever, let's get this party sta-" He was interrupted by the scream of one of the mercs. "Ok, O worked fast, but that's-"
"I didn't do that." Octavia said, surprising Blitz.
"Wait, if you didn't, then…" Blitz then realized exactly what was happening. "OH, SON OF A BITCH!"
The merc that they originally planned to kill first fell dead to the ground once he stopped screaming. Some of the other mercenaries came to check out the noise, only to find their fellow soldier dead. And over him was Wraith staring menacingly at them. At first, they were wondering what the hell this creature was, then they decided to do what most humans with guns do when they see something they don't understand, shoot it until it dies.
Pretty soon, they unloaded their guns at Wraith, but the imp simply rushed into the nearby bushes, causing the mercs to lose sight of the thing and blindly fire at where they thought the creature was. The mercs stopped shooting once they realized they weren't hitting anything, and at that moment they noticed a bunch of tiny round objects falling onto the ground at their feet. These round objects were grenades, and by the time the mercs realized this they had already exploded into tiny meat pieces. Eventually, the rest of the mercenaries came over to see a giant puff of smoke. Then they heard footsteps coming from said smoke, and what walked out was another thing they had never seen before. It was Vi, towering over the mercs and giving them a glare that could pierce diamonds.
The mercs, in a frightened haze, fired their guns at her, but the bullets simply bounced off of her skin. Eventually, their clips emptied, only to find that the creature was still standing. With a smile, Vi punched right through one mercenary, creating a hole in his chest. She then grabbed another soldier's head with both of her hands and crushed it between them. When she opened her hands, there was nothing there but mushed brain matter.
While the fight was going on, Blitz decided to just go straight for the temple doorway once he felt the coast was clear, with his crew following behind him. Just then, 3 bullets were fired in front of them, causing the crew to stop. To their right was Diago pointing his pistols at them, smoke coming from the barrels. "Sorry, Blitzo." Diago said. "Ok, I lied, I'm not sorry. Either way, you ain't getting in there."
"And what makes you think you are?" Blitz said. "Don't you know these temples are filled with traps?"
"No, they aren't. What do you think this is, an Indiana Jones movie?"
"Dammit, I was hoping that'd get you! Do you have a Moxxie on your team, too?"
"No, I'm just not stupid like someone else is. Someone who's easy to stall with some small talk."
"That's what you think, but this someone already knew that and one of his employees just snuck ahead while we were talking."
Looking at the group, Diago noticed Octavia had disappeared, possibly heading inside the temple. Instead of looking pissed off, like Blitz had thought Diago would be, he kept his grin. "Clever, but did this someone think that I already knew that would happen, which is why I had my stealthiest employee wait inside to ambush her?"
As if on queue, Octavia fell out of the entrance onto her back. She then held up her karambit to block the blade of a scythe that also came out of the doorway, revealing Wraith holding said scythe.
"Yeah, well… shit, I got nothing." Blitz said.
"I've got something!" Moxxie said before shooting at Diago, causing him to roll behind a nearby pillar to use as cover. Meanwhile, Millie ran towards Wraith, who was about to strike at Octavia again. She tackled them and pressed them up against the wall next to the entranceway, her arm pressed up against their throat.
"I'm so sorry about this." Millie said.
"It's ok." Wraith replied. "Don't hold back."
Not taking their advantage for granted, Blitz, Moxxie, and Octavia ran into the temple and into a medium-sized room with 2 pillars on each side. Just then, they heard a shout coming from behind, causing them to turn around.
"Badaboom, motherfuckers!" They heard Rufo say, standing in the entranceway as he held two grenades in his hands.
"Wait!" Diago said, catching up to everyone. "You'll tear the whole place down if you use grenades!"
"... shit! What do I do now!?"
"Use anything but grenades! What the fuck do I pay you for!" Diago shot his two pistols at the demons inside the temple, causing them to each hide behind a different pillar for cover. Blitz shot back but missed every single one as Diago continued firing his guns. He kept firing until his pistols made a click, indicating there were no more bullets in the mag.
"Alright!" Blitz said. "Now it's our turn!"
With a nod, Moxxie exited his cover, only to be greeted by a tall, buff Chimera looking down at him. His first instinct was to point his gun at her, but he remembered she was bulletproof. "Shit." Moxxie said to himself.
Vi grabbed Moxxie by the throat and slammed him onto the ground. "Nothin' personal, dude." Vi said as she choked him. "Just business." Suddenly, she heard a scream coming from behind her. She turned around to see what was going on, only to be greeted by a midair Millie punching her in the face like a bullet. To her surprise, she felt it as she was knocked off of Moxxie. The impact was so strong that Vi even had to keep her balance.
"Motherfucker!" Vi said, rubbing her jaw. "That actually hurt! What the hell are-" Before she could finish, Millie jumped on her and started smacking her face. While these were nothing compared to the cannon ball punch she just experienced, Vi was still taken off guard by the imp and tried her best to get Millie off.
Meanwhile, Blitz charged at Diago and fired three rounds at him, but all had missed. Once he got close enough, he tackled his rival onto the ground and began choking him. But Diago was able to grab his gun and shoot through Blitz's rib, causing him to scream in pain. Using this to his advantage, Diago pinned him onto his back, making it so that he was the one on top now, and pointed the gun to Blitz's head.
"Goodbye, Bitch Bab-" Suddenly, Blitz pushed Diago off of him with his legs so hard that he hit the pillar behind him, causing him to drop his gun. Blitz took the opportunity to lunge at him and grab his throat, with Diago struggling to get him off.
At the same time, Octavia was once again clashing blades with Wraith, and Moxxie was fighting Rufo for his gun. The room was a battleground of demons fighting one another. And it didn't stop until they heard a voice from the other side of the room.
"What's all the ruckus!?" the voice said. As everyone stopped fighting and turned towards the speaker, they saw a man with black hair and explorers gear standing in shock. No doubt this was their target, Wesley, coming to check on the noise, only to be greeted by creatures from his worst nightmare staring at him. For a couple of seconds, there was no movement as Wesley was processing what was in front of him. Then, as quickly as he could, he turned around and ran deeper into the temple.
The demons changed their focus from each other to their target as they charged after him, sometimes toppling over one another to be in front. They chased him into a larger room with what looked like an altar in the center. Wesley ran over to said altar and took something off of it before holding the object up. Eventually, everyone realized he was holding a detonator in his hand.
"Not one more step or I blow this whole temple down!" Wesley said, which made the demons stop in their tracks. Wesley had set up explosives around the temple with the idea that once he left with his treasure, he could cover his tracks by blowing it up and making sure no one else but him took what was inside. "Now, I don't know what the hell you all are, but I'm leaving here alive! So you better-"
His head then came flying off, his body falling to the ground soon after. Behind the corpse was Octavia with her bloodied dagger. "That's my girl!" Blitz said as he ran to collect the head that fell next to her. But then Diago fired twice in front of Blitz, stopping him in his tracks.
"What, you think we'd let you take the head just because your team killed him?" Diago said. "Nice try, Bitch Baby, but we're taking that head."
"Alright," Blitz said. "If that's how you want to play it." He then pulled out a pistol and shot at Diago, only for him to roll out of the way. When he came back on his feet, he heard a beep coming from his left foot. To his surprise, he was standing on the detonator… which he now just activated.
"Oh, crap." Diago said. Suddenly, an explosion could be heard from the back of the temple, causing the room to shake like there was an earthquake. Eventually another explosion was heard, this time closer and causing a piece of the roof to fall. Millie jumped on top of Moxxie to protect him from any other falling debris, and Diago ran towards Wesley's head to pick it up and put it against his chest to protect it. The rest of the demons tried to find cover as the explosions finally came to the room they were in, causing even more debris to fall to the ground and the entire room to fill with smoke.
