Snow Fairy/Funkist
~No POV~
Long ago, the great black wizard Zeref created a forbidden magic flute known as "Lullaby." It is said to take the souls of all who hear its sound. A battle for this Lullaby flute is now nearing its conclusion.
~Jennifer's POV~
We were traveling to get to Natsu. Everyone was a little uneasy. I knew that Natsu was going to be able to defeat Erigor, but I can't help to worry. The magic mobile turned a corner and I saw a cloud of dust in the middle of the tracks. As the dust settled, I saw Natsu standing on the tracks with an unconscious Erigor at his feet.
"Natsu!" I called out to him, poking my head through the window.
The dragon slayer turned, "Hey! You guys just missed seeing me beat Erigor!"
"Aye!"
"I'm proud of you." Erza said as the magic mobile pulled to a stop by the fire mage, I quickly on my feet and rushed out of the car and collided with Natsu who hugged me closer and laughed. I grabbed his face to lean him down so I can give kisses on cheeks, which causes him to chuckle.
"Are you all right, Erza?!" Lucy asked, supporting Erza with her arms.
The red-head looked up, "Yes. Don't worry about me."
"I can't believe you had such a hard time with these guys." Gray commented.
"I never said that!" Natsu spat back, "I took care of him, didn't I?"
"I was kind of worried for a while there." Happy added.
The ice make wizard crossed his arms. "What ever." Looking over at Natsu, he added, "You look pretty stupid wearing a scarf when you're half naked."
"Like you have room to talk." The fire mage growled, "Babe, gimme your clothes!"
"*Chuckle* Oh, I should definitely take off my shirt which is too small for your body." I said to him. The fire mage pouted at me.
Erza chuckled. "Anyway, well done Natsu. Thanks to you, all the guild masters will be safe now."
We all nodded, acknowledging the fact the guild masters are safe.
"While we're here, let's go to the conference to report about this incident and ask our master what to do about the flute." Erza added.
"Clover is really close and all!" Happy chimed.
Without warning, the magic mobile became airborne and jumped over us, shadowy hands pushing it upward and carrying the Lullaby flute with it.
"Kage!" Erza called.
"What do you think you're doing!?" Gray shouted.
"Lullaby's mine now!" The shadow mage teased. "You shouldn't have let your guard down, flies!" He added, driving towards Clover.
"That jerk!" Natsu roared.
Lucy pouted. "This is how he repays us for saving his life!"
"After him!"
The sun had just set and we had barely made it to Clover before dark. We all saw Kageyama who was with Master on top of a ledge over looking the guild master's conference hall.
"There he is!" Gray said.
"Master!"
"Gramps!" Natsu yelled.
"Shh!" Master Bob, the guild master of Blue Pegasus appeared, making everyone (But Ezra of course) jump back in surprise. "It's just getting good! Watch quietly! Oh, you two are cuties! You're just my type!"
Lucy hurried over to Erza's side as Master
Bob was taken a liking to Natsu and Gray. "Who is this?!"
"That's Master Bob!" I stated.
"Oh, Erza, Jennifer? You two grown so beautiful." Master Bob said as then softy pinches my cheek.
"He's the master of Blue Pegasus?!" The blonde asked, not believing the truth.
"Can you guys keep it down over there, we're just about to get to the good part." The master of Quatro Cerberus, Goldmine appeared by a tree.
"The Quatro Cerberus'...Master Goldmine!" Lucy exclaimed.
We all watched as Kageyama prepared to play his flute when suddenly...
"Nothing's going to change." Makarov said, "You cannot change the fact that those who are weak will forever remain weak. Now maybe it's just me but I don't think that's a bad thing. Now we humans are weak creatures by nature, our insecurities are the reason that guilds even exist and they're why we have friends." He paused and you could feel tears forming in my eyes, clouding your vision. "When we're surrounded by allies it's easier to stay positive about the future. Think of it this way, if we're clumsy then we may stumble and bump into things but as long as we have faith in our future we continue marching forward, our inner strength merges on its own but we have to choose that path and pledge to live our lives to the fullest. Don't let that silly flute get in the way."
We all stood there for a second, waiting to see what Kageyama would do. As tears streamed down my face, the shadow mage finally dropped the flute, letting it fall to the ground. The man knelled before the Fairy Tail guild master, bowing his head.
"I surrender."
We all went running to our beloved guild master, smiles plastered to their faces.
"Gramps!"
"You stopped him.
We all surrounded him. "What! How did you kids end up in Clover?!" Makarov asked us.
"Master Makarov," the requip mage hugged him, "your words touched me so deeply that I was almost moved to tears."
I laughed, wiping a tear from my eyes. "It did move me to tears." The Lychee-Haired next to me chuckled softly, putting his arm across my shoulders.
"Well, it looks like we got here just in time to see Gramps talk his way out of another one." Stated Gray.
I smiled previous to noticing a ghastly purple light emitting from the Lullaby's eyes. Before I could mention it, the flute began to laugh, dark purple mist coming from it.
"I've grown tired of you cowardly wizards and your arrogance!" The flute shouted.
Everyone gasped at the sight of a gigantic magic circle appearing in the sky by the guild master's conference hall.
Purple lightning began to strike the earth as Lullaby exclaimed. "I can no longer hold back. I shall come forth to devour you myself!"
The magic circle glowed and an enormous wooden monster-like creature appeared from it that you recognized as Lullaby, the demon from The Book of Zeref.
"I shall feast," It growled. "Upon your pitiful souls!"
"It's so big!" Lucy shouted.
Happy replied. "Way to state the obvious."
"That's what she said." I replied.
"What is that thing!?" Kageyama exclaimed in disbelief. "Erigor never said anything about a monster."
Master Bob had his hand over his mouth. "Well we're in a pickle."
"It must be a demon from The Book of Zeref." Goldmine added.
"It's got worse from here." I muttered to myself.
"Why did the flute turn into a monster?" The celestial wizard asked.
"That's what Lullaby's true form looks like in the flesh." The guild master of Quatro Cerberus stated. "It's forbidden black magic, living magic, Zeref's specialty."
I turned to look at the readers. 'Why are some Zeref's demons are so ugly but powerful, you know, sometimes I wonder why does he made them anyway... I will never know.'
"Living magic?" Erza questioned.
Gray asked, "Whose Zeref? Isn't he some evil wizard?"
"He's the most evil wizard the world has ever known, he was very powerful in his day but in my wildest dreams I never thought his dark legacy would pop up again." Master Bob informed us.
"A very powerful wizard, there are some people in this world who worship him and praise for his glory." I stated. "Wait what, really!" Lucy asked me. I nodded, "Yeah, somewhat we will eventually meet some people who worship him, and it will be do annoying."
"Now then," The demon started. "Which one of these delectable souls should I dine on first?"
"Delectable huh?" Natsu mumbled. "Do you think souls are really that tasty?" He asked with enthusiasm.
"How should I know what they taste like?" Gray replied, annoyance edging his tone.
"Always thinking about eating, my silly dragon..." I chuckled at Natsu's cuteness.
"Natsu and Gray, get everyone to a safe place.'" Erza commanded the two.
"Quit barking order!" The fire mage commented.
The ice wizard growled. "Yea, you're not the boss of us!"
"Just do it!"
"Aye-aye!" They shouted in unison.
I heard the army down where Lullaby's feet were.
"No giant wooden demon is going to scare off the Fiore army! Charge!" The commander shouted.
The rest of the army replied. "Yes sir!"
"You doubt my power?" The demon hissed. "I'll prove it to you!" It sent out a giant laser that light the night sky, destroying an entire mountain. We all cover our faces from the explosion.
I heard the commander again. "Now men, retreat! Run for your lives!"
"I have no need for those pathetic humans!" Lullaby stated. "All I want is the taste of a wizard's soul and I will consume all of yours!"
"Oh yea! I'd like to see you try, bring it on big guy!" Natsu challenged the demon.
I heard the guild masters a ways behind me. "Good luck!"
The wooden demon began to roar, preparing to attack. The sound was unbearably loud but I restrained yourself from covering my ears so I could help defeat the monster.
"Ready?" Erza asked, two swords forming in her hands.
"Oh yea!" Me, Natsu, and Gray all said in unison charging towards the demon.
We all jumped at the monster, the S-Class wizard requiping into her Heaven's Wheel armor and striking the first blow. Gray attacked with his Ice Lance, sending a flurry of sharp arrowhead-like creations at Lullaby. I striked the demon with my Celestial Dragon wing attack, and Natsu hit the wooden creature with his Fire Dragon Iron Fist attack. Many bystanders oohed and aahed at our performance as we hit the monster with attack after attack.
"You are making me angry!" Lullaby growled, swinging its arm around in an attempt to hit anyone of its four attackers.
Me and my comrades continued to pummel the demon with damaging blows until finally, it had enough. The monster prepared to attack, taking a deep 'breath' and sucking the life out of the plants around it. "Just one note and your souls will be mine!"
The demon attacked, but instead of a deadly song an unpleasant wheezing sound escaped from its wooden body. "Wha? I don't understand! Why can't I play my melody of death?!"
I overheard Kageyama. "It must be because of all those attacks!"
"They punched so many holes in that thing it totally messed up its sound!" Lucy realized. "All that build up for this? Talk about going out with a whimper."
"Yea, flutes are pretty lame to begin with." Happy sighed.
Lullaby shouted. "You dare mock me!?" It began kicking over mountains and a giant flame erupted in front of where everyone was watching, but Gray blocked the demon's fire attack with his Ice Shield.
"I will kill you all!" The wooden monster hissed as the flames he created began to be consumed by a certain dragon slayer.
"Oh yea!?" Natsu wiped his mouth. "Now I've got a fire in my belly!"
"You're not human!" Lullaby hissed, attempting to punch the fire mage. "You're a monster!"
The dragon slayer began to climb up the demon's arm. "Oh, like you can talk!'"
"Stop climbing me!"
"Requip!" Erza changed into her Blackwing armor, slicing the monster with swords.
Gray sent in a saucer of ice that slashed the side of the wooden demon.
"Natsu!" I yelled and summon fairy wings and flew toward him. "Let's do our special attack!?"
"Oh yea!" Natsu said, as Natsu and I grabbed our hands together. Lullaby roared as we prepared our attack. "Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame/ Celestial Dragon Rising Sun!" We threw the attacks at the wooden demon sending it back into its original form.
"Well done." Makarov praised us. Master Bob added, "You're amazing!"
"You kids made defeating Zeref's demon look easy." Goldmine stated.
"I can't believe how strong they are!" Kageyama said, wide-eyed. "Are all of the Fairy Tail wizards as powerful as these four?"
"There's no doubt about it, this is the strongest team!" Lucy cheered.
"Aye!"
Master Makarov smiled. "We're an awesome guild, aren't we!?" The blonde praised us. "Great work out there, guys!"
"Thanks, Lucy." I smiled. 'I knew we are awesome!"
"I can't exactly say I know what just happened but it's obvious we owe a big round of thanks to the Fairy Tail guild." Goldmine added.
"We do?"
"Even so, I must say they went overboard!" One of the guild masters pointed out.
I looked behind me to see the entire guild master's conference hall destroyed and a couple of mountain tops missing. "Oh uh, oops." I apologized, giggling a little.
"Haha!" Natsu laughed. "We really made a mess of the place, huh?"
Erza pleaded, "Please forgive us, Master!"
"Well, would you look at the time! We've got go!" I said in panic as we all left from the military.
