The episode referenced in this one-shot is Season 2, Episode 2: The Tap-Out Job.
Just a forewarning, all of the one-shots that are based around this episode will either elude to or actually address parts of Pru's past, so stay tuned for that!
Just a note, there are direct word quotes from the episode. A big thanks to the Leverage, Seriously, website, who had posted the pretty accurate transcripts from the entire original series. You can find it at .net
The legalities. I do not own any of the Leverage franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Prompt: "It's blood, not nuclear waste. Chill out."
"That's enough, Alec."
"I didn't say or do anything."
Pru scoffed. She had discreetly pulled Alec off to one corner of the gym when she'd observed him attempting to keep his cool. How this man had gotten this far in life with his aversion to real blood was a miracle. "Alec, Eliot is just a bit banged up, nothing too bad."
"I know that."
The manager rolled her eyes as she turned to go back to the team. "Alec, it is blood, not nuclear waste. Chill out." She walked away to Alec's stammering, joining the rest of the team just in time to hear the doctor finish his examination of Eliot.
"You took a hell of a pounding. We should get you a CT scan. You could have internal bleeding."
Jack Howorth, their client, handed Eliot a towel. "You let yourself get hammered like that on purpose? That's a hell of a lot of punishment to take."
Pru chuckled softly as she stopped next to the hitter, sharing a knowing look with Sophie. "That's what he does."
Nate cleared his throat. "So, with Rucker out of the picture, management of this gym and all the fighters, it's all up in the air."
Parker, who'd decided to hop onto Pru's back, smiled. "You guys could use a fresh start."
Sophie put her hand on Jack's shoulder. "They just need a little direction."
It was then that Alec decided to make it known that he had rejoined them. "I mean, the place could use some spit and polish, but it's solid."
Eliot crossed his arms as he sized up Jack and his son, Mark. "You might not be able to fight anymore, but you know the sport. You know what it means to commit to something."
Pru smiled wide. "So, what do you say? Take a stab at running this joint, the right way?"
Nate added. "Plus, you'll have some seed money from Rucker's bet. I mean, enough to get you started."
As the Howorths began to slightly object, Pru had to take a fortifying breath to hold back tears. This had been her cousin's dream, to own and run a gym. At least someone would be able to live out that dream. She smiled; this was a very good ending.
