A/N Let's talk about the Source and the Hollow since events involving them, in canon anyway, are coming up. The Source, which in the comics is revealed to actually be an incorporeal essence of evil that possess a demon and later, Cole, that then rules the Underworld. When the Seer steals Phoebe's unborn baby she reveals the baby is the result of a plan she had. She manipulated events so that Cole would be possessed by the Source, so she could then use them to create a baby with the Source's power, minus the possessing part. She told Phoebe the baby was always hers, never Phoebe's or Cole's. Basically she used Phoebe as an incubator, then stole the baby so she could have the power of the Source, without being possessed. She planned to rule the Underworld herself. Maybe she would eventually have absorbed all the powers and no longer needed the baby. We don't know because she couldn't control the power and destroyed herself and dozens of demons in the process.
Sounds a lot like what Jasmine did to Cordelia and Connor by manipulating Angel, Cordelia, Darla etc. to get herself born into the world. Without Angel and Darla Jasmine can't make her plan work, but the Seer is still an evil being who can try to get what she wants.
With plot twists along the way.
Than there's the Hollow, a plot device with a lot of unanswered questions, like where did it come from? If it absorbs all Magic how can it be contained in a Magic box by Magic and guarded by magical beings? I must admit, the Hollow bugs me as well as other fans.
That being said, the Seer will be plotting away and trying to get what she wants and this time around instead of Cole dying to avoid her evil plan, I'm going to see if I can figure out how to save him. And remember, this is a blended reality, the Source and the Seer have more resources available to them because of that.

"Nothing has worked." The Source, very frustrated, paced around his chamber waiting for the Seer, who's eyes were glowing white, to give him some idea of what the future held. "Every demon I've sent after them for months has been vanquished and now the Oracle says the sister Bond is stabilizing, it was their one vulnerability. With it stabilized they can now call on the Power of Three, unite their powers. What do you See?" He demanded to know.
"I saw your demise." The dark skinned demonwoman in red answered.
"My demise? That cannot be."
"You know how powerful my visions are. More so even than the Oracle's and more accurate."
"You mean to tell me that with all the powers at my disposal, all I've learned about them, in the end I still lose? How is that possible?"
"The Charmed Ones' power must simply be greater than yours. I mean no disrespect. I only speak of what I see." She assured him.
"Then the only way to change what you see is to obtain more power, the ultimate power."
"But that's forbidden. The Hollow has been banished for all eternity, if you unleash it, we all could die." The Seer protested.
"If I don't prevail what difference does it make?"
"Perhaps there's another way, my Lord. One that gives you the power you need to defeat them while not endangering everything you rule and seek to rule."
"Explain, quickly. The Charmed Ones sister Bond has formed but is untested, the window of opportunity is very small. I may have only one chance to destroy them."
"The Amulet of Balthazar, it increases the strength of one's powers. All of one's powers. At present, despite the vast array of powers you have, the Charmed Ones, even with a smaller total number of powers are stronger. The Amulet will increase your own powers significantly, making you stronger than they are. Than the Power of Three itself."
"Balthazar was a fairly low level demon, but he did have significant power until he was ultimately defeated. He was also worshiped, albeit by vampires, which fed his power. That may just be what I need, but where can it be found?"
"In the tomb of a wealthy human in Sunnydale, my Lord."
"The Hellmouth." The Source snarled. "Guarded by humans to keep fools from opening it. Occupied by demons even I would tremble before. See to it that the Amulet is retrieved, we will try it your way first, Seer."
"Yes, my Lord." The Seer walked out, ever serene, but inwardly smiling. It had begun.

A/N The Amulet of Balthazar, a very big and ugly demon crippled by Richard Wilkins. Balthazar came to Sunnydale in canon, but not in this story, to find his amulet and regain his strength. It's never specified strength of what though, physical strength or increase of the telekinetic power he had or something else.
