Lorenzo and Esteban landed their balloon, and carefully pulled Mirabel out of the basket. The family hurried outside, confused at what was going on.
"Mirabel?" asked Julieta.
She tried to step forward towards her daughter, but Augustin held her back.
"Hola, Madrigals." greeted Lorenzo, in a menacing voice.
"Nice to see you again." Esteban added with equal sneer.
"What's going on?" Isabela wanted to know.
"Mirabel?" Luisa called out.
But Mirabel, still in her trance didn't answer her.
"Lorenzo, Esteban what are you doing with Mirabel?" Alma wanted to know.
"Well you see, we came for something." Esteban told.
"But first..." Lorenzo pulled out his wand, said some magic words, and then he pointed at the Madrigals.
A beam of light shot out of it, and zapped the family. All of the Madrigals were then bound by magical glowing ropes.
"Que?" asked Bruno, as he and the rest of the family were tossed aside from Castia.
The members tried to break free, but the ropes were too strong.
"There now we can explain. You see we want to become the most the most powerful wizards in the world and in order to do that we need your candle." Lorenzo explained.
"Our candle?" asked Pepa.
"It gave most of you magical powers, and created a magic house, and it'll make us powerful." Esteban added.
"Now Mirabel, go get that candle for us." Lorenzo told.
"Yes, Lorenzo." Mirabel said.
She started walking towards Casita.
"Mirabel, please stop." called Julieta.
But the spell on her was too strong.
When Marcos landed the balloon, he, Angela, and Valentina hurried out of the basket, and ran towards Casita. Many of the people were running for their lives, taking shelter, and holding onto their loved ones.
Suddenly, he saw a family running, and saw that some tiles from a roof were about to fall on them. Marcos pulled out his wand, and used his magic to stop the tiles from hitting the family.
"Do you have a plan?" asked Angela.
"We have to find my brothers and Mirabel, and hopefully now that I have my full powers I can undo the spell the put on her." Marcos explained.
"And it looks like they're up ahead." observed Valentina.
She pointed ahead, and they all saw Casita that looked like it was on a loose foundation and where the source of the storm was coming from.
"Come on, we've got to stop this." Marcos told.
And off they hurried to Casita.
With Mirabel, she was now inside Casita, and making her way towards the candle.
"Mirabel, por favor please stop!" called Alma.
"Casita, stop here!" Antonio shouted.
Casita heard Antonio's words, and tried to stop Mirabel from reaching the candle. It tried by moving Mirabel back with the tiles, but Lorenzo used his magic to push her forward. Casita then tried to block her way with furniture but that didn't work much either, as Mirabel just climbed over everything.
While Lorenzo and Esteban were busy trying to make sure Mirabel got the candle, Marcos, Valentina, and Angela came up behind the Madrigals. Dolores turned around slightly, and saw them.
"Marcos?" she whispered.
Some of the other members of the family turned and saw him and the girls. Marcos held a finger to his lips signaling for them to keep quiet. Then he used his wand to free the Madrigals.
"Where's Mirabel?" he whispered.
"She's in Casita. She's under some sort of spell." Camillo informed.
"Don't worry, I can fix this. Angela, Valentina you two keep the family out of harm's way. I'll deal with mi hermanos."
The two girls nodded, and Marcos went up to his brothers.
"Oh, I can already feel the power, Lorenzo." Esteban told.
"I know, hermano."
Just then, they felt a pang of pain on their backs. The two turned around, and saw that it was Marcos.
"Que?" the two asked.
"You two aren't getting away with this." he told them.
The two older wizards, grew angry and fired their wands at him. But now that Marcos had his full powers, he was able to match their magic.
"I see you've practicing your magic, Marcos." observed Lorenzo, as he tried to zap his little brother.
Marcos was able to dodge the blasts, and then with a set of magic words he was able to use his wand to blast Lorenzo back into a tree and knocked him out. Esteban was stunned to see what his younger brother had done, and became determined to defeat him.
"We're getting that magic, whether you like it or not." he told him.
He shot another blast of magic at his brother, but Marcos used his magic to counter attack, and wrapped him magical restraints. With his brothers restrained, Marcos hurried into Casita. The foundation was shaking even more, and Casita had Mirabel blocked by more furniture, but she was getting past it.
"Mirabel, stop!" he called out.
"I have to do this, Macros. It's the only way we can be together." she told him.
Marcos knew he had to break the spell, and despite the walls crumbling around them he rushed over to her. He took out his wand, said the magic words, and aimed it Mirabel. A beam of light shot out of it, and swirled around her head.
The trance-like state of her eyes left, and she seemed to snap out of it.
"Que? What's going on here?"
Before Marcos could explain, Casita shook again. Julieta and Augustin worried for their daughter they rushed to Casita to try and enter to help her, but Casita knew it was dangerous, and used the tiles to push them out.
Mirabel looked up at Alma's bedroom window, and saw that the cracks were heading towards it and the candle was flickering.
"I've got to save that candle." she declared.
"But Mirabel, it's too dangerous." Marcos told her, as she ran off.
"It's important to my family. Casita get me up there."
Casita formed a ladder with some of the furniture, and Mirabel started climbing it. The glowing lights on the family's room doors dimmed and went out, causing the Madrigals to loose their gifts.
Mirabel managed to grab the candle, the but the ladder gave way. She shrieked as she fell, but Marcos used his magic to levitate her slowly to the ground. The walls and roof then began to fall. Marcos threw his arms over Mirabel to protect her, and Casita used the last of its' magic to use furniture, pieces of wood, and other things to protect the two.
When the dust settled, Casita was gone. Mirabel and Marcos removed the rubble. They were both covered in dust and dirt. Mirabel looked at the candle in her hand, but it wasn't much of a candle anymore.
It was melted, and the flame was dim and then eventually went out. Mirabel felt a wave of sadness and despair, and tears began rolling down her cheeks. Marcos didn't say anything, and just threw his arms around her.
