11/9/2024: Oh, my gosh, I am so sorry! I woke up this morning inspired to get this chapter out, and realized it had been over a year. I am so sorry! This isn't much, but I didn't want to leave you guys hanging for any longer. There is one more chapter coming, where everything comes to a head.

. . .

"How many pictures did you take?" The question was out of Jason's mouth before he realized he was awake. The camera shudder woke him up, as Tim knew it would, but he would've taken pictures before waking Jason up.

"That's for me to know, and for you to never find out," Tim said smugly as he put his camera away in its special reenforced case. Only a Bat would be able to do it, since he was holding several shopping bags.

Why was Tim here? Why was Jason on the floor? He looked around, then spotted the toddler sleeping on his chest. Memories came rushing back from the night before. He didn't want to get into the messy emotions also brought up, so he focused on his brother to ignore them.

"What will it take for you to tell no one about this?"

Tim immedicably went into hostile negational mode. "Patrol together with minimal complains, three times a week for a year."

"Once a week for 6 months, no cap on complaints."

"Twice a week for 9 months, no cap on complaints."

"Twice a week for 6 months."

"Twice a week for 6 months, and a baked good every other week, dealer's choice."

Jason narrowed his eyes, glaring at Tim. "Deal."

Tim fist pumped. "Awesome! Don't worry about any surveillance, I've scrubbed it all- keeping copies for myself, of course. I did some digging, but I'm not sure where the kid came from. We'll have to look into that later. He might be abandoned, because he's clearly a meta, and if that's the case, he's fair game" Tim gave Jason a teasing look, which caused Jason to scowl. "I brought you supplies- clothes, food, diapers, and other stuff the lady at the store said a toddler would need."

"… diapers?"

The brothers stared at each other for a moment, then Danny. Hm.

. . .

Jason and Tim decided to wait until Danny woke up, passing the time by talking about cases. Tim sat crossed legged next to Jason, who was still on his back on the floor. One second Danny was fast asleep, the next Danny was on his knees and grabbing Jason's face. "Potty!"

"Do you know how to use the potty?" Jason asked hesitantly.

"Potty!"

"Okay, okay!"

Jason got up and quickly and took Danny to the potty. "Okay, yell if you need anything."

Danny didn't answer, but went into the bathroom. Jason and Tim waited outside.

"Is he okay in there?" Jason asked.

"I have no idea. I never even thought about this aspect of having little kids. What about bath time? Can he be by himself?"

Both of them pondered for a bit. Jason swore that before the day was over he was buying ever parenting book he could find.

. . .

In the manor while reading the morning newspaper Bruce's head popped up and he stared off into space. His Dad Senses were tingling. It wasn't the My-Kids-Are-In-Danger sense… but it was close. Had Dick gotten stuck in the banister again? Bruce went to go check.

. . .

Finally Danny came out, seeming none the worse the wear. The bathroom seemed fine too.

"Breakfast?" Danny asked very cutely.

Tim smiled wide. "What about some of Jason's amazing pancakes?"

"No!" was Jason's mildly panicked response.

. . .

Jason ended up making amazingly fluffy scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh cut fruit. It was a good breakfast. Tim left, and Jason was ready to start the day with Danny. First shop would be to the book store.

Almost no one in Gotham had any idea of what was headed their way.

Jazz drove her car with grim determination. She was following Cujo. The little ghost dog knew where her brother was. She was going to find him, save him, and there would be hell to pay for everything involved and everyone who hurt her brother.
