Woooo I still can't believe we've reached Season 3, and I can't wait for you guys to see what I've got planned for this season and for my characters. Let's just say it's dark. But I have said previously the story will follow the show, just to let you sll know but there will be changes. Anyways, let's get into it.

Disclaimer I don't own The Walking Dead just my ocs and plotlines.

Callie's POV

After the last walker dropped, her and Rick headed down and met the rest who were entering the field.

"We haven't had this much space since we left the farm!" Carol exclaims loudly.

She smiles and sees Glenn put down a walker.

T-Dog cheers. "WOOOOO!"

She couldn't believe it, they were finally safe behind an actual fence. Things were starting to look up for them.

Throughout the rest of the day, they made sure all the walkers were killed, and moved in their trucks into the separate area. Making sure that they had all of their stuff close by. It was a risk leaving their vehicles unattended with what they had, but they needed to clear the field.

Daryl came back with some rabbits for food and the group was relieved to not eat an owl again.

Night time came pretty quickly, and herself and Rick were walking along the fence line to make sure there were no weaknesses and Daryl was standing on top of the bus, he was on watch while the group prepared dinner and their sleeping arrangements.

She had a machete in her hand as they were walking along the fence line, she looked over at the group sitting around the fire and talking loudly in what felt like a long time. It probably had been a long time... maybe all the way back to the air bnb. She frowns at the memory, the feeling of the machete in her hand reminding her of the kills that night.

"You okay?" Rick asks quietly, his voice hoarse from the lack of speaking.

"Just thinking about the night at the Airbnb." She replies honestly and he looks at her curiously.

"How come?"

She stops and he follows suit. She just nods to the group talking and laughing. "Watching them now. Laughing. Talking. It just reminded me how long it has been since we laughed."

Rick nods his head solemnly. "Hopefully we can make up for lost time."

She smiles weakly at that. She does hope so. They needed to act like they were human, all over the winter they were acting like the dead.

They've talked about the plan together on what they were going to do next with the prison, and agreed on telling the group during dinner or after. Most likely after to give them some rest.

They looked as Daryl and Carol go back to the group when Beth started singing.

"Of all the money, e'er I had. I spent it in good company. And all the harm e'er I've ever done, alas it was to none but me. And all I've done for want of wit. To memory now I can't recall, so fill to me, the parting glass, goodnight and joy be with you all."

Maggie and Noa join their sister in the singing. "Oh, all the comrades, that e'er I had, were sorry for going away. And all the sweethearts that e'er I had..." Herself and Rick approach the group, and she sits down next to Jeremy who hands her a bowl of rabbit meat. She takes it off him, grateful that he saved her some. "... would wish me one more day to stay. But since it falls unto my lot, that I should rise, and you should not. I'll gently rise, and I'll softly call, goodnight and joy be with you all, goodnight and joy be with you all."

The silence that followed allowed the sisters to have their moment, it must've been a long time that they've sung together.

"Beautiful." Hershel comments, looking lovingly at his daughters.

Glenn puts his hand on Maggie's leg. Noa looks at her and smiles, and she returns it.

Rick decides then to give the plan. "Better all turn in. I'll watch over there." He points at the gate. "We've got a big day tomorrow."

Glenn looks at him curiously. "What do you mean?"

"Look, I know we're all exhausted. This was a great win." Rick emphasises, looking at the rest of the group and looks at Callie to continue. She nods her head, and Rick picks up again. "But we've gotta push just a little bit more. Most of the walkers are dressed up as guards or prisoners, so this place fell pretty early on. It could mean the supplies are intact."

The group looked eager at that. The thought of a big meal made them had hope in their eyes.

"They have an infirmary, a commissary-

Daryl pipes up. "An armory?"

"That would be outside the prison itself." Rick informs him and he nods his head. "But not too far away. Warden's office would have info on the location. Weapons, food, medicine..." he lists and points at the prison. "This place could be a gold mine!"

It has been a long time since she's seen the group looking hopeful.

"We're dangerously low on ammo. We'll run out before we make a dent." Hershel points out to him, and that was something they considered. They had it all planned out.

Callie takes the lead. "That's why we gotta go in there. Hand to hand." She could see the sceptic looks but every one of them was capable of doing it. They were all nervous about going in hand to hand, it was nerve wracking, every time there is a risk of someone getting bit. "After all we've been through, we can handle it."

Rick smirks and looks at Carl, nudging him. "These assholes don't stand a chance."

Carl smiles back.

She looks at Jeremy and he looks at the gate.

"You going in?" He asks her, well it wasn't really a question, he knew she was going in.

She nods her head.

Amy looks up from her food. "They don't stand a chance against you." She quips with a small smirk and she snorts at that.

"They don't stand a chance against any one of us." She adds and Amy smiles at the compliment.

Amy wasn't a fighter of the group, she helps look after the kids, but knows how to handle walkers in distance but not hand to hand. But she's getting better, some people take time but it was better than never. After what happened at the Airbnb, Amy hardly talked to anyone but no one wanted to push her. It was a hard thing for her to process, and she is strong.

But she doesn't blame her anymore for what happened with Andrea. She says that if she was alive, she would've come to the highway, and it was out of their control what happened. Not one of them could have been prepared for a herd that size to come and attack them.

Morning came and the group immediately had breakfast with the noise of the walkers groaning. They lost interest in them last night and haven't noticed them yet.

The plan was that herself, Rick, Noa, Maggie, Glenn, Daryl and T-Dog were going into the courtyard to clear the walkers. While the rest will distract them and pop them through the fence. It was going to be a long day of clearing out walkers.

The group was ready to go into the courtyard, the others getting their manly weapons ready to gain the attention of the walkers. Hershel looks at them, ready to shut the gate behind them.

"Ready?"

Rick nods at him and opens the gate, T-Dog enters first and stabs a walker in the head. The rest follow suit. Callie brings down her machete into another's head and they all form into a circle to create a formation. This will make it easier for them to get rid of the walkers.

The walkers swarming around them started to drop like flies by arrows, pipes, and little spikes that they got previously.

She could hear the rest of the group trying to gather the walkers' attention by making loud noises and banging on the fence.

T-Dog breaks formation.

"T!" Rick yells as walkers go towards him.

"We need that!" He yells back and lifts a riot shield.

"T!" She yells and walkers approach him and he hits the walker with the shield, knocking it to the floor.

Maggie runs forward.

"Maggie!" Rick yells worriedly.

She drives her machete into the walker and immediately goes back into formation.

"Stay in formation!" She barks at the group, who stay formed.

They clear one side of the courtyard and manage to get underneath the catwalk when Rick puts up a hand and slams himself against the wall, and they all follow suit.

Two walkers reveal themselves from behind the vehicle in the far side of the courtyard, wearing riot gear, they are guards.

She looks at Daryl expectingly and he raises his crossbow and fires but the arrow bounces off the helmet guard.

Just then two more guards appear behind the wall and it takes her a second before kicking one to the floor to gain an upper hand as one of them was 6ft compared to her 5ft 3 self.

She hears on behind her and hears Maggie yell. She quickly looks back to see Maggie use her machete to the head but it had a mask so it didn't penetrate. She looks back at her walker who is coming back after being disoriented by her, and snarls. She kicks the walker in the leg, hard enough that its weak leg caves in and snaps in an awkward direction, making the walker collapse onto its knees.

She notices a weakness, the neck doesn't have a guard. She smirks and kicks its head up, making the neck snap up awkwardly.

"Daryl!" Rick yells out.

She grabs her machete tightly and thrusts it into its neck and up to its brain and it stills. She breathes a laugh out and looks to the others struggling with their walkers.

Maggie grins and lifts the walkers helmet awkwardly, trying to avoid the walkers' snapping jaws meanwhile keeping the dead weight off her. Then she drives her machete up, killing it instantly.

She grins at her boyfriend. "You see that?" She exclaims.

Glenn and T-Dog look impressed.

Noa kills one last guard who was kicked on the floor and couldn't get up, while Rick rips off the mask from one walker, the walker Maggie struggled with beforehand, and it ripped its face off and it was basically a skeleton chomping as he drives the machete into its face.

"Stop." Rick says and they look at him curiously.

Glenn looks at him with a quizzical look. "Looks secure."

Daryl shakes his head. "Not according to that courtyard over there." Pointing in the direction which was now locked shut, with plenty of walkers clawing at the fence. He also points at a body. "And that's a civilian."

He was right. She was wearing civilian clothes.

T-Dog sighs. "So the interior could be overrun by walkers from outside the prison." It was not a question, more like a statement.

"Maybe it was from visitation?" Noa suggests and it was a good suggestion.

"If there was visitation, there would be a lot more civilians. But there is a chance." Callie tells her, and Noa smiles.

"What are we gonna do? We can't rebuild this whole place." Glenn points out.

Rick nods. "We can't risk a blind spot. We have to push in."

They walk towards the prison, into a Cell block that had a written 'C' on it in black paint, faded from age. Daryl grabs the handle and looks back at the rest to see if they were ready, and then opens it. It makes a huge squeak from the lack of use, making her cringe.

She enters first and has her machete ready in case of any walkers. Rick quickly goes up the stairs, he wasn't gone long before he came back down with keys.

There were no walkers in the common area.

Rick had to reach between the bars of the next gate and unlocks it, with a loud clang echoing. She could see Rick wince about the noise. He pushes the gate open and somehow manages to open without any budging needed, which did surprise Callie.

They walk inside and see multiple dead walkers in the cells.

Daryl begins upstairs, when a small noise echoes loudly, and they all look up. Rick was down to the other side of the room, and immediately charges up the stairs. It goes quiet and the two men look at each other quizzically. Another noise erupts and she watches as they go down one side, and they kill two walkers with their knives.

She looks at Glenn and Maggie. "Get the others." They nod and head outside.

The two men unlocked the doors and throw the walkers downstairs and they hit the floor with a wet thud.

She looks grimly at T-Dog and Noa, the three of them doing the clear up duty.

T-Dog grabs the legs of one walker and drags it to the common room.

When the others walk inside.

Rick almost smiles at them. "What do you think?" There was hope in his eyes, something that she hadn't seen for a long time.

"Home sweet home." Glenn comments, holding a bag of his belongings.

"For the time being." Rick adds.

Lori comes in, cradling her stomach and carrying her bag. "It's secure?"

Rick smiles. "This cellblock is."

"What about the rest of the prison?" Hershel asks them.

"In the morning, we'll find the cafeteria and the infirmary." Callie tells the man, before looking at Noa, and they each grab an end of the walker and lift it up.

"He's fucking heavy." Noa snarks and Hershel looks at her. "Sorry."

"We'll sleep in the cells?" Beth asks, looking slightly uneasy but after the winter of sleeping anywhere, they were not judging the condition.

Rick nods his head. "I found the keys on some guards. Daryl has a set too."

Speaking of Daryl, he was on the second floor. "I ain't sleeping in no cage. I'll take the perch." He announces.

They drag the walker out just as people were deciding the cells.

"We may as well share a cell." Noa points out to her with a huff of her breath as they carry the walker up the steps. Before she could reply, Noa continues on. "Never thought I'd hear myself say that."

She snorts at that comment.

"Yeah, there'll be plenty for me to throw you in." She jokes as they step into the blinding sun.

Noa's jaw drops. "Wowww. Callie Grimes making jokes. Might lock you up myself." She says slyly and she rolls her eyes at Noa's words. But she does feel a blush creeping up her cheeks at her words.

T-Dog passes them, sweating from dragging the dead out in the Georgian heat. They've only just got into summer from what she could gather from where the heat was currently at, and according to Tabby's calendar. She had been keeping tabs for Lori's sake to determine when the baby will be born. Which ultimately the timing revealed to Rick that the baby was Shane's and not his, resulting in the hostility.

But there was another hostility which he told her of about how she was threatened by Shane and told him so in the privacy of their tent back at the farm, and that he needs to do something. Ultimately leading to Shane's demise and actually hated him for it.

But her and Noa have gotten close over the winter, they all have, don't get her wrong. But with Noa, it was different. She didn't know what it was, but she wouldn't mind if Noa tied her up. Maybe have her way with her-

No, I'm stopping that thought right there. She scolds herself for thinking that way. This was Noa Greene, there was no way she would go for someone as damaged as her.

There was no way she would like her anyway, even if it did sound a little flirty in her book, but she couldn't think of that drama. She had a group to look after. Maybe in a different universe.

I thought it'd be best to leave it there, a nice light hearted moment. But I'm hoping to do a love story for Noa and Callie. They're just right for each other. Would it be Coa or Nallie? I'm thinking Coa, it sounds so cute. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
