It was the day after as Zee had arrived at school in her father's limo and put on her best normal smile on the ride there; to make sure that her father didn't suspect how she was really feeling. She preparing to finally confess her crush to her best friend but then her new foreign exchange student friend; it turned out was the first damsel in distress that Lincoln had saved and she seemed really cool and in the quick time that she came here, the two had hit it off... She held no bitterness or anything as all's fair in love and war and how could she compete with an actual queen?
Better not jepoardise anything and just smiled as she waved goodbye to Zatara but then there was Jessica coming up to Zee looking quite stern. "Hey Jess; something on your mind..." Zee asked as Jessica really let her have it in a whisper.
"Zee; I believe in non-violence and rarely do I really want to slap someone and most of those times involves Guy Gardner but right now after what you said on the phone yesterday... I am trying really hard not to slap you!" Jessica sternly told her as the other girls came up and looked at Jessica. "Everyone Zee here decided out of the bloom decided to give up on confessing to Lincoln before even starting!" Jessica told them as their eyes widened.
"What? Are you crazy; you and Lincoln are more like a cute couple than most couples I see at the school!" Karen then daid holding onto her hair ready to pull.
"What has brought this decision sister Zee?" Diana asked concerned.
"Yeah... Why give up on the boy of your dreams..." Barbara then pulling on the ears of her hoodie as Zee sighed.
"I was seeing him and Perdita together and how could I compete with a queen..." Zee then whispered as Lincoln then jumped up at Zee grinning with a run startling her.
"Zee; I totally wasn't paying attention to the calendar but an email reminded me and... The Metropolis Fashion Palooza is this weekend and so can I count on you being my plus one as usual?" Lincoln asked with a knowing grin and Zee's eyes widened as her mouth fell wide open as she had forgotten as well and how could she have... It was like Metropolis' biggest fashion event of the year and she loved going every year with Lincoln ever since they have become friends. But... If he went with Perdita instead then it could help them on...
"Sorry Lincoln; I looked at my calendar and... I think I will be busy and how about you take Per..." Zee then said as Jessica started coughing loudly and it distracted Zee as Lincoln frowned. "What is it Jess?" Zee then whispered to Jessica who was sternly looking at her.
"I honestly can't be more annoyed at anyone than I am with you right now Zee..." Jessica then whispered and they heard loud muttering and whispering. They then saw that Guy gad positioned himself in front of Perdita and her guards and was posing shirtless and with a cheesy grin on his face making some girls swoon. "Leave it to Guy to prove me wrong on that..." Jessica sighed facepalming as everyone was staring.
"What do you think Queen? I bet you have never seen something so beautiful and I have a history with royals and I am something of royalty myself; homecoming king twice in a row as well as last year's Prom King! I am from every woman's dreams!" Guy then said as he was making muscle man poses and kissing his biceps and Perdita didn't look impressed.
"I feel so sorry for the nightmares of those women." Perdita then retorted stepping away from him and one of her bodyguards ended up shoving into Guy making him fall over as Lincoln and the girls were snickering. "What are you all talking about?" Perdita then asked putting on a smile.
"We were discussing the Metropolis Fashion Palooza and..." Zee then said as Perdita's eyes widened.
"Ah yes; I have been invited and I was told that I have a plus one invitation!" Perdita then said much to Zee's shock as she wasn't anticipating this. "Did any of you wish to go?" Perdita asked as Jessica stepped forward with a cough.
"Lincoln has his own plus one invitation and so how about you go with Zee as she is your guide and I can go with Lincoln please.. As a friend off course to see how it's like..." Jessica then said suddenly as Zee was mouthing to Jessica asking what she was doing and Lincoln took this in.
"Well Zee said that her calendar was full but if you really want to go Jess then..." Lincoln then said as Zee laughed awkwardly.
"I think that I was mistaken Lincoln but I think we can work with this; I would be honoured to go with you Perdita. Usually Lincoln takes me but... More the merrier..." Zee then said as they started going through the front door as Zee eyed Jessica.
"I am putting this back on track and you will thank me later..." Jessica then whispered to Zee who sighed.
Soon the weekend came and the four went together (along with Perdita's bodyguards) to a corporate building which was full of models and some business people for this big TV fashion parade. It looked spectacular as Jessica then looked to Lincoln and asked "say Lincoln; I have been meaning to ask but how do you get your invitations to this event as I don't think fashion is your thing..."
"Linky! I so look forward to seeing you and Zee here every year!" squealed a young blonde haired woman in a stylish dress and jacket who ran and enveloped Lincoln and Zee in a tight squeeze before letting go and they caught their air. "Wow... You are here with Queen Perdita as well... I have so many things for you to try out your highness; the teens are gonna be so jealous of your royal style and... I don't know this girl; is she a new friend?" the woman asked as Lincoln recovered herself.
"Jess; Perdita... This is Leni one of my older sisters... She interned at this big fashion company not long after we first moved here and when I heard Zee was into these events... Leni managed to be my connections and got us backstage invitations and then she joined full time as a designer..." Lincoln introduced them as Jessicalooked to Leni who was waving to them friendly.
"I should have expected somethign was up when someone listed as a designer had your surname Lincoln." Perdita laughed as Jessica turned to Lincoln.
"So I guess this means not all of your older sisters are like Lynn..." Jessica whispered as Zee snickered.
"Lincoln has stories of his oldest Lori from back in Royal Woods and she could be as bad as or even worse than Lynn and then there's Luan and... I predicted that she would become Metropolis' Joker one day..." Zee then replied as Lincoln sighed and then spotted a short haired beautiful looked black woman model in a red dress. "Ah yes... Mari McCabe a real vixen in fashion and you should have seen Lincoln's face when he first saw her in person..." Zee teased as Perdita and Jessica snickered and Lincoln glared at her.
"Jess; have I every told you that Zee has her own Aquaman plushie that I found her kissing at times..." Lincoln then then told her and Perdita as Zee sighed red faced.
"Okay; I had that coming..." Zee admitted as Lincoln smirked back at her.
"Sorry Perdita but you think that we can go and show you the fashion for the show so you can get changed in the rooms to try out... Nice catching up with you Linky, Zee and meeting you Jess..." Leni then said walking away with Perdita.
"I think I am going to go and have a look around and leave you two alone..." Jessica then said at once walking away as Zee eyed her and Lincoln looked suspicious.
"Has Jess been acting weird lately?" Lincoln asked as Zee was silent.
"Zee; I love you as a sister but what you are doing to yourself is infuriating... You will thank me later when you have been set straight..." Jessica muttered to herself shaking her head as she then spotted a cat and went up to it. "Hello there; are you lost?" Jessica asked in a soft tone as she then followed it into a closet.
The cat then jumped into the arms of an invisible figure that revealed himself to be Klarion; His eyes glowed dark red and from his hand (while using his other arm to keep hold of his cat Teekl) he then sent a spell to Jessica who felt dizzy. "Your fancy ring won't work under this loss of concentration magic Limelight; gives me time for some mayhem..." Klarion smirked.
"Say Lincoln; what do you think of Perdita... I saw her viewing you as her knight and perhaps this knight can win her lady's hand?" Zee suggested to Lincoln who jumped and shook his head.
"Nah Perdita would deserve better than just plain old Lincoln; who never had luck in romance and knows when great girls are out of his league..." Lincoln sighed as Zee looked at him incredulously.
"You're great Lincoln; you are cute, funny and amazing and if Perdita was a snob that would look down on you then she would have horrible taste but she doesn't and..." Zee then said as Lincoln took this in but they heard screaming. They then saw the staff and models running away as there seemed to be demon dogs. "Looks like those things from that ghost busting movie that you had me watch with you a thousand and one times..." Zee commented as they then began running to get changed.
"Hey that move is a bonafide classic and the other movies are good as well; the second one made me decide that if we ever go to New York then we have to bring the Statue of Liberty alive and then have Jackie Wilson playing over it..." Peacemaker then said jumping out of his hiding spot as he was finishing putting his mask on.
Zatanna then put up portals to another dimension as Peacemaker started protecting people with his shield and pushing the demon dogs through the portals. Several bikini models were rushing out of the change rooms and Peacemaker jumped to shield them and give them time to run to safety as he was a bit embarrassed. "Maybe you can get a kiss on the cheek later if they are being grateful..." Zee teased with a smirk; he was her crush who she was trying to set up with a friend but teasing him like this when she had the chance was just too much fun.
Peacemaker just groaned shaking his head as he was throwing the demon dogs at them and then Perdita in the stylish dress she was given was being escorted away by her bodyguards but several demon dogs were circling them and Peacemaker ran to push the demon dogs out of the way.
Perdita looked grateful as they went to safety and soon Limelight ame out of the changing rooms; having gotten over the magic done to her and transformed. She helped gather the demon dogs to push through the window. Then there were dark tentacles fcoming from a black entity and Zatanna then got magical blades to cut through and used a magic to send the entity back but it transformed into Klarion holding onto Teekl with Limelight glaring at him.
"So this is the famous Super Friends; including the magical Zatanna and I must say... You are as strong as they say you are... Let me introduce myself; Klarion at your service..." Klarion said as the 3 got ready for him to strike as they glared at him.
"I sense evil demonic energy coming from you... What are you warlock or demon..." Zee asked at once as Klarion shrugged as a pentragram appeared on the ground.
"A bit of both actually... My father was a demon lord from Hell and my mother is a dark sorceress... Until next time..." Klarion said as he then went through the pentragram and it dissapeared and they looked at eachother before Zatanna used a spell to fix everything. Then they went to get changed back.
Everyone came out when they realised it was safe and Perdita ran up to them; "Thank you for the save again..." Perdita said gratefully a Lincoln brushed it off and Leni then ran to hug Lincoln hard grateful that he was safe.
"Okay everyone; I want you all to be ready to get back to where we were before the unpleasantness... We have a schedule to keep..." said a red haired man with blue lenses glasses, a blue suit, a cane and speaking with a British accent. He was Neil 'Mad Mod' Richards the head of the fashion company that is in charge of the show and Leni's boss.
"We are going to pretend that it never happened?" Perdita asked as Mad Mod looked her way.
"Your highness; this is Metropolis... If we cancelled an event here every time some robot, demon or outer space god attacked then nothing would happen here..." Mad Mod said as if he was explaining breathing and everyone else nodded.
"I will need time to get used to but that these are just normal days ending in Y here..." Perdita laughed amused as the bodyguards just sighed.
Back in Hell; Klarion was looking at Tala as she was sitting on her throne; "They took care of it but you know that I could have taken on Zatanna if you would let me finish her off..." Klarion told Tala who shook her head and stood up sternly.
"Out of the question; no harm is to come to Zee or that white haired knight friend of her's; you can gauge their abilities and see how strong Zee has been with John's teaching but nothing to kill or seriously hurt her... You have your mission to compete and Zee is part of my vision of once I took my spot as Queen of Earth..." Tala said as Klarion sighed and nodded his head.
The next day the Super Friends and Perdita were gathered at the Quantum Unfolding Storage Area as they watched clips of the fashion show and Lincoln, Zee, Perdita and Jessica could be seen watching from the front row. "Looked like quite a show but it was almost ruined..." Barbara said as Kara looked confused.
"But from what you said; the bratty hellspawn didn't want to try to kill you and just wanted to try and ruin a fashion show... What's his deal?" Kara asked as they looked confused.
"Whatever his 'deal' was; we have a new foe that we have to watch out for..." Diana then said and they nodded.
"So we will prepare yourselves for this Klarion to show his face again amongst other goals..." Zee then said eyeing Lincoln and Perdita and Jessica was eyeing Zee and Lincoln.
So the weird love triangle continues as Zee's suggestion for Lincoln to take Perdita backfires in an instant as she has her own invitation and goes with Zee while Jessica interjects herself into the plan so that she can sabotage Zee's attempts to set up her crush with someone else. Plus we get to see what Leni has been up to! Plus Klarion reveals himself to the Super Friends and is acting out a plot for Tala his mother. Yes Leni's boss is indeed Mad Mod who you would best know from the original Teen Titans cartoon and in the DC comics; he actually reformed as a normal fashion designer. Here he was never a supervillain and is just a fashion designer with a stage name.
