Halo, it's the final chapter of the first season. Enjoy the reading.
The last two transports barely escaped that strange girl's attack, as did Roman Torchwick and the faunus girl who fought Blake. After leaving the port they glided silently through the cloudy night.
- Well, this really didn't turn out the way I planned. - Roman tiredly sat down on one of the seats.
- You planned it all. - She was more angry than tired. – We were supposed to get that ton of Dust and by the time anyone wakes up, they will only find our sign of work! Instead a bunch of our comrades died, we lost 3 transporters and came back empty handed!
- How much longer will you bark? – Roman didn't take the girl's outburst very well. - Or are you going to bite, little pup?
- What? – She stood in front of the girl and looked at the criminal from behind her mask. - Could you repeat that? - Roman just smiled confidently.
- Are you deaf too? I asked, are you still going to bark or bite, little pup? – This time Roman stood up and towered over the girl who was a little scared by that. – How the hell was I supposed to know that weird little girl would shoot at least 2 ships apart with a laser cannon and push a third one to the ground with brute force?!
- Now you're just looking for excuses! We really needed those Dusts and now... - Roman just interrupted her words.
- Whoever or whatever that kid was, it wasn't human at all. - He took out a cigar and lit it. – Some kind of super-soldier or a Grimm disguised as a human. We could deal with those kids but that something... I've never seen anything like it.
- Um... - The pilot looked back somewhat awkwardly. – where should we go now? If we don't have the swag should we still go to the meeting place?
- Yes. - Roman just rubbed his forehead and sat down again. - But before that, - He looked at the girl who also sat down. - let's take her back to the academy. If you're late, they'll get suspicious.
- What a gentleman. - She answered sarcastically.
- Hey, you didn't kill that other girl! If you had we would have had one less problem. - Roman touched a nerve with this statement since the girl didn't say anything. She could have killed Blake but she couldn't. Her guilt held her back. - Perhaps she's your friend at the academy?
- Just my classmate. I don't know her very well but I see her regularly in classes. Every day.
- Decide who's side you're on very quickly.
Roman didn't speak anymore and neither did she they just traveled on in silence. They stopped a few kilometers from Beacon to drop off the girl who would be able to return to the academy after removing her White Fang uniform.
He traveled even further, to the outskirts of the city, where warehouses lined up one after another. Some were privately owned but some had been abandoned for some time. The latter provided a perfect hiding place for a criminal of his kind, since the police don't come here very often it's hidden and you can't really see any onlookers.
Exhausted but he returned to his own warehouse which served as his temporary home. He only managed to loot a small box of Dust which is quite a disappointment for such a large-scale robbery.
- You were quite disappointing today, Roman. - A female voice spoke from behind him after the warehouse door opened.
- Whoa! - He turned back scared. - I didn't expect you so soon.
There were three figures standing in the doorway, two women and a man. The boy, was barely 18, had pale skin, short gray hair, gray eyes and his clothes were gray and black. The younger girl was also around 18, with dark brown skin, reddish-brown eyes, short, mint green hair and her clothes were white and green.
The woman in the middle was older, between 25 and 30, with pale skin, long black hair, sinister yellow eyes and wore a red dress with black high heels.
- Hey, - Roman laughed a little nervously. – you suggested that we work together with those stupid animals from the White Fang!
- And you will continue. – The woman conjured yellow fire in one of her hands but Roman showed no fear. - We have a big plan for you, Roman. - She walked closer but Roman didn't move. - All I'm asking for is nothing more than cooperation.
- You don't have to worry about that. I didn't say I quit but what happened at the harbor is going to make our work a little more difficult but I can assure you that within a few weeks the warehouses will be overflowing with Dust.
- I don't recommend disappointing me, Roman. – The fire died from the woman's hands and she and her companions left the warehouse. - Just remember, - She turned back for the last time. – your and your little girlfriend's lives depend on how well you perform in the coming months. – With that she left, leaving Roman alone with the little box of Dust.
Roman looked disappointed at the Dust in the crate and the huge, empty warehouse that was supposed to be full of containers tonight.
"Just a bad day," he thought to himself.
He was tired, he wanted to go to sleep so that he could hunt another prey the next morning and make up for tonight's loss but he couldn't go to sleep yet. He had to visit someone.
He came to a door, which he opened very quietly and carefully so that no one could hear and quietly entered. His Scroll shone a dim light on the bed in the room which was empty causing his heart to skip a beat. As soon as he heard the sound of a toilet being flushed he immediately calmed down.
On the other side of the room was another door that led to a bathroom and you could hear the tap is running and someone washing their hands. The door opened and a short woman stepped out, pale skin, long and shaggy hair from lying the whole day but the left half of her cascade of hair was dark brown, the right half was pink as were her eyes, the left eye was brown and the right was pink.
She was wearing a white nightgown and pink panties with an ice cream pattern and came back into the room yawning when she saw Roman. She smiled and they hugged each other with Roman.
- Are you feeling better now, Neo? - Roman asked as he took off his gloves and placed his hand on Neo's forehead to check her body temperature. Neo just nodded. - Good. I had a pretty sh*tty night and I wished you'd be there. - Neo just nodded, after getting into the bed and she sat next to Roman.
- Did I tell you about the big Schnee shipment we were supposed to rob with the White Fang? - Neo just nodded. – In the beginning, everything went according to plan when some kids playing self-proclaimed justice attacked us. – Neo started to show something with her hands, using sign language. - Yes, Little Red was with them but I neutralized her easily. – Roman laughed and Neo smiled too. - Knocked her out with a single shot. You should have seen. - He took a deep breath and continued. - Unfortunately, everything went wrong after that. Some weird little girl took down the whole White Fang platoon with weird strength and a damn big laser cannon and destroyed 3 freighters. - Neo's eyes widened in shock and she shook her head to see if she had heard wrongly.
- I hardly believe it either. There was something very wrong with that strange kid. My instinct warned me in time and with the remaining White Fang soldier I preferred to go down and only managed to get a small box of Dust. – Roman just rubbed his forehead but Neo just looked at him worriedly and put her hand on his shoulder then started pointing again. - You're sweet. - He pressed a kiss to her forehead. – I know we've had plans that went wrong but we've never lost so many. – Neo pointed again and confidently looked up at Roman. - Don't worry, get well first then you can come help. - He stood up and was about to leave the room. - I won't kiss you on your mouth because I shouldn't get catch what you caught. – Neo signaled once more and Roman just smiled. - Don't worry as soon as you're all right and we catch up and after this job I'll arrange an evening just for the two of us. Good night and get well soon.
With that he left the room and headed for another one so he could take a shower and go to bed. He wanted to sleep in the same bed with Neo but now he couldn't afford to get sick.
She was Neopolitan, Roman's partner in crime and girlfriend who meant the world to him. For 5 years now, they have been the most wanted criminals in Vale, carrying out many high-value robberies and constantly annoying the entire police force.
In the past few weeks a mysterious and powerful woman approached them with an irresistible offer which could be their biggest heist ever with an amazingly high reward but also incredible high risk. The job consisted of several parts, the first step was to get as much Dust as possible to fill this warehouse.
Unfortunately, nothing was revealed about the rest of the plan, saying that they now know as much as he needs to. Roman didn't like to work blindly but the money and the ultimate reward that could come with success were too high. At first it was simple, robbing small Dust shops with Neo but she got sick and bedridden, so Roman had to work alone, hiring amateur criminals.
He hated working with amateurs but without Neo he had no choice. That's when he met a girl, whom he only named Little Red because of her red hood, cloak and scythe. Little Red messed up one of her jobs but it was just a minor inconvenience for him and the woman who hired and rescued him.
It was then when he realized that woman had some terrifying, supernatural power, the ability to fly, summon fire and glass out of thin air. This is something was like destructive magic. He doesn't believe in magic though.
At her suggestion, Roman began working with the White Fangs who were more organized and talented than the local criminals, although he didn't like their company any better and they didn't particularly like Roman either.
For the first time in his life he prayed but only for Neo to recover as soon as possible.
