Title: The beginning of canon

Alt Title:

.

Got writers block for the Kitsu fic.

.

DancingLeaf: I actually have a bit of experience with body dysphoria. Puberty hit me hard and fast. In one year, the same year I started working out as an anger management coping mechanism, I went from a thin 90 lbs, barely five foot twig. To a 220lb five nine. I have stretch marks on my chest from growing muscle too fast. And it's not gym muscle. I haven't been to a gym for nearly five years and that bulk never left me. My max full body lift. Is 600 lbs. KEEP IN MIND! That was for 3 seconds, it was full body, and I only lifted it a foot off the ground.

So yeah, I took a good two years getting used to my new height and bulk, I was breaking things by accident, mostly furniture by plopping on it, and bumping into things with how broad my shoulders got. In college I had a gene sequence analysis as part of a biology experiment/study/volunteer thing. And it was found I have a mutation that causes me to build muscle and adapt to chemicals twice as fast as a normal person. However, I also retain fat three times as easily and I'm prone to rapid dehydration in the heat.

That mutation? I have roughly 3.5% Neanderthal DNA.

As for writing coherently? I don't. I make an absurd amount of mistakes that I have to spend time fixing. And then I put the story through a text to speech filter and fix what doesn't sound right. Heck, I'll put a paragraph at the end of how I write with zero proofreading.

T4ndoris: -_-

Weirdgirl332: I like making my characters realistic. And that includes giving them faults. James/Zamaina was a clinically depressed trust fund baby who had zero freedom. And as such has little social skills outside of business meetings/financial negotiation and roleplay. And had the whole, New World thing not worked? He would have killed himself. Long story short. He is conditioned to be an authority figure, while also being conditioned to follow authority.

MrBurkes: I intend to!

SonicTundra: He roleplays that his father went mad from Odin's imprisonment, and he had to be put down. And that he keeps his hide as a sort of heirloom/remembrance of who his father was, not what he became. And also as a hunter's respect for their prey. It's a spiritual thing.

Aren Gisly: Long time no see! How ya been?!

DancingLeaf: Oh, your back! Eh, that's alright. We all make mistakes.

Speaking of. Thanks for the callout on the disclaimer.

Yes I am still using dots to separate because I still can't figure out how to use spaces. FFN likes squishing my paragraphs together when it's empty.

-Day 7, 5th floor Frozen Prison-

.

.

James "Zamaina" Petrosky POV

.

So, the great tomb is, impossibly large. So much so, that if I didn't have a decade of experience traversing it. I could easily get lost.

Each floor is basically an island in size. Making the entirety of the tomb's land three to four times the size of Japan. Just the fifth floor is the size of Hokkaido.

Which is were I am now. Talking with Mizore.

"So, I was wondering if you could give me permission to visit the eighth floor." She says with a small blush.

"You called me all the way here. Just to ask me to subvert Momonga's orders?" I ask plainly.

She raises a brow. Her blush receding.

"Yes?" She says.

I stare at her for a while longer.

[Yo, Momonga] I message.

[Hmm? Zamaina, what is it?]

[Just wondering about two things, one, whatcha doing, two, is it cool if I give Mizore permission to visit the Sakura Sanctuary?] I ask.

[For what reason?] He asks.

[So, you know how I like old anime and pop culture stuff from the early two thousands?] I try and segue.

[Yeah? Didn't you create Meruem and his guards to be based on an old shonen?] He asks.

[Yeah, about that. I, also did the same with, Mizore and Tsukune. I'll just get to the point. Tsukune and Mizore are lovers and she wants to spend time with him.] I explain.

[Momonga? Momo?] I try.

[If you give her permission to traverse the eighth floor, the others will want to as well. Give Tsukune a ring of Ainz Ooal Goan so he can visit her.] He says.

I genuinely wonder why he has self esteem issues when he can mediate and reason this well.

[Got it.] I say. [Also, what are you doing?]

[I'm trying to figure out the mirror of remote viewing.] He says.

Oh shit! We're at that point in the timeline!

[Wait for me, we both have one and I might as well figure out how to use mine. If the two of us are working on it together we might figure it out faster.] I say.

[Very well. I'll see you soon.]

We cut the message spell and I regard Mizore once more.

"I'll be right back." I say as I stand up and shift back out of my human form. "You can't go to the eighth floor. But, Tsukune can come here."

That gets a smile and small blush out of her. And she stands up and slams into me.

"Thank you father!" She says happily.

"Yeah yeah." I say as I pat her back. "Just don't let your love life get in the way of your duties."

"I'll try." She says as she steps back.

I see her as daughter. Well, like a sort of surrogate daughter figure. It's weird. And her happiness brings me a soft sort of joy I can't explain.

Anyhow, I teleport to the Sakura Sanctuary. Rinse and repeat my trek to the koi pond. But can't find Tsukune or Aureole Omega.

[Tsukune?] I message.

[Ah, oh. Um, creator. You startled me.] I hear in response.

[Apologies, I was just wondering where you were.] I explain.

[Um, on a scale of one to ten, how important is it?] He asks.

That's, unexpected.

[Mizore] I say in response.

[Damnit, um, I'll be right there.] He says as he cuts the line.

I wait a few moments. And in a blinding blur of black and white. Tsukune is beside me.

"Ah, there you-" I stop as I see, and smell it.

Disheveled hair, his shirt is loose a button and is untucked on one side. And he smells, like Aureole.

He immediately starts blushing. Not daring to say a word.

"Mizore wants to see you. You're allowed out of the eighth floor. She's not allowed on it." I say as I reach my inventory and grab a spare ring of Ainz Ooal Goan and hand it to him.

Originally there were a hundred rings. But I suggested we increase that. One ring for each member, one for each member to keep as a backup in case of snatch builds, one spare to be kept at the guild for if we're slain in battle and lose both.

He reaches for the ring with his right hand, before taking it back and reaching with his left.

"Have fun." I say and teleport away.

No need to drag that out any further.

I'm now inside the halls of the ninth floor. I could just teleport into Momonga's office. But one, that's rude. Two, I still need to practice my movements. And walking around is the best way to do that.

As I walk, I keep passing several maids and a few of the penguin butlers. They're so adorable. The way they just get to work and look awestruck at me.

Yeah, that mental hierarchy? I see all the maids and lower servants as pups. Their strength and diminutive statures render me unable to see them as anything but. Hence why they're adorable.

Also another factor into why I can't see myself bedding them. Despite knowing that before I'd jump at the chance of them throwing themselves at me. In my mind, in order to be seen as a potential mate. You have to be level forty at least. And even then that's a maybe. Like, that's my lowest standard.

Though, when I'm human and my level is reduced to sixty, I find that number goes down to twenty or so. But, it's different. Like, as a human I can't see myself ever forming a close bond with another. Well, I can, but it'd be superficial. Because my human form feels too, fake. It's a mask to be put on for subterfuge.

It's, weird.

Passing Cixous, who stares at my crotch as she blushes and bows. I ignore it. No need to dwell on what she's thinking and I have no intention of repeating what happened in the baths.

It really is a shame. She'd be so hot if she weren't so fragile.

As an aside. It's actually rather easy to remember their names. Mostly because before the shutdown. They'd all have their nametags above them.

Finding my way to Momonga's office. I knock on the elaborate doors. Gilded and ornate. Yet not gaudy or over the top.

"Come in."

I open the doors. Immediately aware of the invisible eight edged assassins around the room. Entirely invisible, scentless, and soundless. Yet I know they're there. And I know where each and every one of them is. And Sebas is right behind Momonga dutifully awaiting orders.

I pay it no mind. They're Nazarick, and they're performing their role admirably. Not taking their eyes off of anything in the room. Even me.

"Ah, Zama." Momonga says. "I take it you accomplished your task?"

"You'd assume correct old friend." I say as I stride across the room to stand beside him.

"Old friend?" Momonga says. "I'm not that much older than you."

He's about two years older than me.

"Comparatively, no." I say as I lean on his desk. "But still older."

"Hmm, I suppose you are correct." He says as pulls out an ornate mirror from his . "Well, onto the next task."

We spend the next ten minutes trying to figure out the mirror. Speaking commands, thinking, heck I grabbed it and moved it around to try and figure it out. Before I thought of something.

Touch screen. It hasn't really been used for more than fifty years. Neural interfaces were invented in the twenty sixties or fifties. Slowly but surely overtaking touch screen technology.

"Hang on." I say and start making gestures in front of my mirror. And sure enough, it responds to touch screen gestures. Pinching, swiping, the works.

"Momonga, treat it like an old smartphone from the early two thousands." I say.

It takes him a few seconds. But he figures out what I mean. And is now flying the view over the landscape around the tomb.

"Good job my lords." Sebas says as he starts clapping.

I ignore him and focus as Momonga starts panning over the horizon. Sure enough, same as the anime. We find that village under attack.

"Ah, humans." Momonga says. "At least we discovered life."

"Not for much longer." I say as I zoom in for him.

Sure enough. Knights attacking. Though, they don't seem to be as far in their attack on the village. That's likely my doing. Having two of us here to figure out the mirror means we figured it out faster. And as such found the village faster.

Oddly enough. Or rather, not. I, don't care. About the people I mean. I know Enri will be key to the plot. But, I, I don't care about the people themselves. If anything, I'm annoyed at the knights behavior. They're being so unnecessarily wasteful. Like that one! He ran right by a fleeing villager to chase a girl.

Isn't your target the villagers?! Come on dude! Easy kill!

So wasteful. There's no shame in playing with your food. But this is excessive.

"Hmm, Sebas, put the rest of the tomb on high alert. And inform Albedo to gear up and meet me." Momonga says. "Zamaina-"

"I'm coming with you." I say as I prepare a gate spell.

"There is no need to risk both of us." Momonga counters.

"And by that token of logic. I should be the one to go." I stand resolutely. "Risking the guild leader when I can go? And even then, you're a mage, I'm a striker. Between the two of us we should be able to handle what's coming. Between you, me, and Albedo. We should be able to handle anything."

I, I don't know where that came from. I just saw a flaw in the planning that left Momonga compromised. And my mind acted on its own.

He stares at me for a long moment. Before letting out a low chuckle.

"Very well." He says.

I open the gate and motion for him to step though.

.

.

-Edge of Carne Village-

.

.

Just as I step out behind Momonga. I'm assaulted by the delicious smell of fresh blood in the distance.

Like steak. Which, fun fact! If I want to enjoy normal food. I need to be human! As a werewolf I have less taste buds. And being human feels so, wrong. I'd genuinely rather the lack of taste than be human just so I can taste more. A sentiment I know I wouldn't have had a week ago.

As we walk cautiously through the woods. I hear the clattering of metal and the hurried steps of what is likely Enri and her younger sister.

I hold a hand up for Momonga. Just in time for a gate to appear and for Albedo in full gear to step out of.

"My lords!" She says as she kneels. "I arrived as soon as I could!"

"Very good." Momonga says. "We are heading into the village. You will act as our guard against any possible threats."

"It will be honor!" She says with clear excitement and glee.

"Speaking of." I interject. "We have test subjects incoming."

"Truly? I suppose we are rather close." Momonga says. "How close?"

"Few seconds, maybe less." I say. "We should use varying levels of stealth to test their perception."

"A good idea." Momonga says. "Albedo, take shelter in the bushes, Zamaina, hide as you see fit. I'll use [Perfect Unknowable]. That way we can get a proper sense of their detection abilities."

"Right." I say, finding no fault in his logic.

While Albedo crouches in a bush, and Momonga steps off to the side while turning invisible. So much so that, while I know he's there. And I know his general direction. I have to focus to find him.

Meanwhile I jump up to the trees. And stay motionless as I activate my [Blend] ability. So long as I don't move. I can't be seen. I'm not invisible, and if I do this in a city it's not likely to work. But I'm unperceivable so long as I don't move while in another's line of sight.

It turns out I heard the pursuing knights and the fleeing girls long before they were near. Almost a full minute. And the girl runs right under me, past Momonga, and right by Albedo before the knight catches her with a sword slash.

[I'mma try something] I message Momonga as I activate my ability [Blur]

In DnD terms. [Blur] is basically a haste spell that you can only use on yourself. And it's the weakest of its line of agility abilities.

I run down, the world turning into a grainy, staticy blur as I move faster than my own eyes can properly track. So, I let my instincts take over and move my body for me.

The first of the two knights is, moving painfully slow as he brings his sword down. And I just, go.

My open fist impales him. And I feel no difference in tearing through his flesh, versus tearing through his armor. Both just, melt away under my claws. Like I'm punching through jelly. It might as well not be there.

I keep running. Carrying the body on my forearm. From the perspective of the three remaining humans. He probably disappeared.

I rip my arm out of his chest. His heart in my hand. And, still letting my instincts move me. I eat it.

Holy shit this is delicious! The me a week ago would be appalled by this. But, I don't care.

Seriously, I haven't anything this good since my first life! Cows are extinct in twenty one thirty eight. And this tastes like the best medium rare Chicago seasoned steak ever!

Wait, wasn't I doing something?

Coming back. I smell more blood. Running back over, no longer under the effects of my weakest speed boost. I see Momonga holding the heart of the other knight as he collapses. In a clanking heap.

"Hmm, no resistance to instant death." Momonga says. "And no detection skills or magic. To say nothing of any protection to physical damage."

"It would seem." I says as I wipe my mouth of the blood. "This is either a relatively safe area of this new world. And as such the foes have little reason to grow in strength. Or this world is on easy mode."

"Umu, agreed." He says. "Which brings me to my next test. [Summon Death Knight]"

A small black orb extends from his hand and travels to the new corpse. Expanding and surrounding it as the body is consumed by the oily substance. Before reshaping in the form of a kneeling death knight.

"Hmm, that's different." He says curiously. "Death knight, go to the village and kill any being wearing that armor." He says as he points to the dead knight.

I get a little annoyed at the dropped heart.

The Death knight wordlessly charges off. Appearing almost eager to complete its given task.

[You just sent a mid tier defensive summons, away on an offensive task.] I message to Momonga.

[I was testing something! I wanted to see if summons could obey more complex commands!] He replies defensively.

[Okay, now the real reason?]

[I… wasn't thinking.] He admits.

That's what I thought.

"Albedo, you can come out now." I say, suddenly remembering she's still crouched beside the two girls. Hidden in the bush.

"Aah!" Enri shouts in surprise.

"Should I dispose of these pests my lords?" She asks as she grips her axe.

"No, our secondary goal is to save the village." I say as I walk up to them.

I smell the acrid scent of piss as I kneel before them. The girls closing their eyes tight as Enri holds her sister close. Tears staining their face.

I'll admit, it's, morbidly cute. I see them as food. And I find myself curious as to what their hearts will taste like. But, they're adorable. The same way some people find chickens and rabbits cute. They're food. But that doesn't mean you can't appreciate their aesthetic.

"Are you afraid?" I can't help but ask.

"Please, just make it quick." Enri cries.

If I were still human. I'd find her hot. I can recognize that much. As she is now? As I am now? The best I can envision her as.

Is a pet.

I bring a hand to her head. Mildly enjoying the way she flinches.

"I'm not going to eat you." I say. "As sweet as I'm sure you'd taste-"

"Mrrm!" She squeals in terror.

"- I have an interest in seeing you live."

I then take out a healing potion. Mirroring the anime as best as I can remember. And hand it to her.

"Drink." I say as I hold it.

She stares at me in fear. Wide eyed as she processes what's happening.

"You were given an order worm!" Albedo says.

"Aaah!" They cry harder.

"Look, this isn't a trick. Just drink it." I say and shove the potion into her hands.

"If, if you'll just leave Nemu alone." Enri stutters.

'THAT'S HER NAME!' I think with relief. 'That was going to bug me all day.'

The same song and dance happens as it did in the anime. Nemu tries to stop Enri. Albedo gets upset. Momonga calms down Albedo. Enri drinks the potion. Momonga tosses two cheap cash shop summon items. And we begin to make our way. To the village.

"Wait!" Enri calls out. "Who are you?"

'Oh boy.' I think to myself as I can hear the gears turning in Momonga's head.

"Who are we?" He says softly as he turns. "Remember this girl, the one's who saved you. For we, are Ainz Ooal Goan!"

Bio- Meruem is prideful, cruel, and tyrannical. But he is also honorable, reflective, and on rare occasions, compassionate.

Created with a superior mind and superior body to all around him save for his creators. Meruem takes every advantage of his creation. Cold and calculating. Meruem is utilitarian and holds contempt for many things he deems, illogical. But understands the necessity for many such things. Such as recreation without purpose. He despises the idea of one holding power without earning it. His rule being that of a meritocracy. Where positions are earned or proven. Not just handed out based on connections.

During his rule as king of the third floor. A lowly human girl once stumbled into his palace. Intrigued, he decided to see what this pathetic being had to offer. Being so frail and disabled. He congratulated her for somehow making it as far as she did. Before challenging her to a competition of her choice. Killing her through violence was, distasteful. She was so pathetic, and she made it this far. Might as well give her the honor of dying on her own terms.

A game of chess. Easy.

Five months later, chess, checkers, Chinese checkers, nine men's morris, etc. She never lost. He tried everything. Even attempting to intimidate her. Nothing worked. He even cut off his own arm as an apology for insulting her resolve. And she begged him to never hurt himself for her again.

She showed him the value of lesser beings. Though rare, many have value in their tenacity.

He would later find out that it was his Lord and creator Zamaina who had led the girl to him. For which he is forever grateful. For she showed him there is so much more to another's value than strength and intelligence.

It was then that he made a request. That Komugi be allowed to be a member of the tomb. A request granted.

He respects those who show great strength. An despises those who show wasted potential. And an unbreakable reverence for all the forty one members of Ainz Ooal Goan.

He respects Shalltear's strength, though considers her a childish idiot. He feels protective over the twins Aura and Mare, respect for Albedo, Cocytus, and Sebas. He respects Demiurge, though considers his excessive cruelty to be frivolous and wasteful. He sees Tsukune as prime example of his belief that the weak can become strong so long as their potential isn't wasted. And sees Mizore as a sort of annoying half sister.

In battle, Meruem sets the tone. Poking and prodding the opponent. Before adjusting his battle style to keep them on the offensive.

Meruem dislikes repeating himself. And finds himself easily annoyed when he has to do so.

He is highly intelligent, though not quite on the level of the three geniuses of Nazarick. He is a very close second. With a specialty in delegation and management. When it comes to his rule, he is very strict. Everyone has a role they are expected to fulfill. That's not to say exceptional work is not to be praised.

He spends his free time playing board games with Komugi.

Bio- The most loyal of the three royal guards. Neferpitou would willingly kill herself for her King if it were for his benefit. When the human known as Komugi showed up, she initially hated the girl, same as the other royal guards. However, whereas the others continued to hate Komugi, Neferpitou saw her value and purpose in bringing the king happiness. And made it her goal to keep Komugi safe. Even from the other guard's scheming.

That is not to say she actually cares for Komugi. Merely her role in bringing her king happiness. Neferpitou is in fact the cruelest of the royal guards. Finding joy in toying with her prey and satisfying morbid curiosities on her living victims. Her cruelty is rivaled only by Demiurge in this regard.

Neferpitou is a commander in battle, rarely fighting head on and only doing so in times of desperation.

*Edited by co-creator Tabula Smaragdina*

Neferpitou's loyalty to her king is only surpassed by her loyalty to Ainz Ooal Goan. And she acts differently around her creator Zamaina. Showing him a submissive side she wouldn't even show her king. Whether this is due to attraction, lust, or merely just because. Is unknown.

She likes fish and playing with yarn.

Bio- A pitiful girl Zamaina found on his travels. He saw something in her that none else did. Or could.

A mind and will, that nearly matched his own. Trapped in the body of a sickly girl.

After taking her away from her abusive family, he placed her in the ruined castle for Meruem to find. Knowing he would take interest in the mysterious girl so weak, yet for some reason found her way onto the third floor.

What followed. Was Komugi showing a such a talent for pitched strategy that Meruem tried using fear tactics to scare her into fumbling in their games. When none worked, and she showed that such tactics would not cause her to falter. He felt such a deep respect, for someone so weak, to be so fearless. He questioned if she was too stupid to understand the danger she was in. At which point she expressed she was, in fact aware that at any moment. She could die, or worse.

He ripped off his own arm as an apology. For thinking so low of her. And he vowed to never underestimate another's potential again.

A veritable genius in her own right. She outclasses the other three genius NPC's in pitched strategy. Give her a set of rules, any number of handicaps. And so long as new variables are not introduced. She will find a path to victory.

FUN FACT! The alpha wolf theory is a myth. Produced by researcher Rudolph Schenkel when observing wolves in Yellowstone National Park. He published his findings on a wolf pack he observed where there were four males and one female. And they all listened one of the males. And only that male would mate with the female. He published his findings and proposed the Alpha Wolf theory. And a year later, went back to recreate his findings, LIKE ANY GOOD RESEARCHER SHOULD! And found he couldn't. And came to the conclusion that it's not hierarchy of competing males. It's a family unit with the mother and father as leaders.

Even in wild dog packs. The pack follows the oldest and often times smartest dog. Not the biggest, not the strongest, and certainly not the most competitive. Heck, the most competitive often times gets kicked out of the pack for causing problems.

Long story short, he disproved himself. And no one would listen to him because the idea of an Alpha male became too popular.

Ask about Zamaina's build!

His Gear!

.

SonicTundra: Did Zamaina take advantage of the likelihood that things like Divine tier and even World tier items would be going for pretty cheap irl cash by the end of the games life?

Newb: Oh absolutely. Before the shut down. He managed to help the guild find an additional two World Items. And in the last months leading up to the shutdown. He managed to purchase five more. And scores of cash shop items and divine level gear.

None of the world items were one of twenty. And only two the purchased ones were of any note. One of them being a necklace named "Cain's regret" that prevents any and all debuffs from effecting the player wearing it.

He also collected a score of race change items. He's a hoarder much in the same way Ainz is. But whereas Ainz likes collecting rare items. Zamaina likes collecting miscellaneous items. While Ainz would be satisfied with one copy of a unique item. Zamaina wouldn't.

His most treasured item is a World item called Odin's Left Eye. A necklace he never wears in favor of another that better meshes with his build. Instead it's in a trophy case in his room.
