The sun shone through the window, shining right on Inuyasha's still sleeping face, making him scrunch his nose up before cracking his eyes open. Looking at the clock as he let out a large yawn, seven-thirty, he sighed. He was really hoping he'd be able to sleep in just a little bit longer with the woman he deeply cared for wrapped tightly in his arms.

Speaking of the woman that managed to steal his heart in a very short period of time, he looked down at the still slumbering face of the woman that he was quickly falling hard for.

'One month.' He thought to himself as he started to gently run his claws through her hair. A month ago today, he met who he swore was the most amazing girl he's ever had the privilege to have by his side. He let out a contented sigh as a small smile ghosted on his lips, he had made reservations at a camping ground to rent one of their campers. This camping ground had a few hiking trails, some for beginners and others for more experienced hikers. It also had a large lake with a river in which they could kayak, which also had a beginner and a more experienced route, as well as a swimming area - and space for Inuyasha to ride on his water jet.

Miroku would be there as well, a few weeks ago he was finally able to convince Sango to let him have a chance to prove he was so much more than just a mere lecher. He had rented a camper as well and was bringing his jet boat to give Sango a ride - she loved going on rides in his boat - and had already agreed to supervise the water jet rides.

Kagome hummed in her sleep as she snuggled closer to Inuyasha's side before releasing a small happy sigh and settling back to sleep. His smile widened as he brought his hand up to lightly brush his fingers along her cheekbone, he released a single chuckle as she wrinkled her nose before sighing again in her sleep. He felt like the luckiest bastard alive to have a woman as amazing as his Kitten was. He didn't know how he became so lucky, but he surely hoped to whoever was willing to hear his prayer that it didn't run out.

He sighed as he tightened his arms around her, leaning his head on top of hers and closed his eyes. They didn't need to be at the camping grounds until one in the afternoon, and it was only about an hour or so away, so he decided to just bask in his happiness and just stay in bed with his Kitten just a little bit longer while he held her close to him. However, his stomach let out a large grumble which made it nearly impossible for him to ignore that he needed to get some food in him. So, with that thought in mind, he carefully wiggled out from underneath Kagome, going to the bathroom to relieve himself before pulling on some sweatpants and making his way towards his kitchen to make his Kitten breakfast in bed. He made sausage, egg and cheese biscuits with a hashbrown for a side and a glass of orange juice and filled two mugs up with coffee, making sure to make hers just the way she liked it.

Making both of their plates and putting the food and drinks on the bed tray that he had with a little vase he filled with a single rose, he carefully made his way back up his stairs and back to his room to see his sleeping beauty. Walking into the room, Inuyasha saw that Kagome had moved to wrap her arms around his pillow so she could bury her face into it and smell him as she continued to sleep. He stopped and stood there for a few seconds just to take the gorgeous woman in.

He fucking loved her so much, loved everything about her, there wasn't a single thing about her that he didn't love. He loved her hair, her smile, her laugh, the sound of her voice when she sang, the way that she danced, the way that she ran her fingers over his back or chest whenever they cuddled while watching a movie or TV, the way that she looked at him with an emotion that neither of them spoke out loud yet, though he was sure they both felt the same way. His favorite thing about her, however, were her eyes. He loved the way they were so expressive, the way they changed to a silver and sparkled in the sunlight, the way they warmed to a dark gray that bespoke of her love that he knew he saw swimming in her eyes on more than one occasion, the way they danced with happiness when they hadn't seen each other for a few days - everything - he couldn't name one thing that he didn't like about the woman that was still sleeping in his bed. God, she was perfect for him, made for him like he was made for her - he was sure of it. Fuck, he was a goner, but he knew that he was from the very first ride he had given her. He knew she had to be his, knew from the moment their skin touched, and that zap went through his body. There was absolutely no way that they didn't belong with each other, he was sure of it.

'How the hell did I manage to get so lucky?' Inuyasha thought. He simply could never get enough of her.

Out of the entire month, they only spent a handful of days apart, it was crazy how badly they both needed to be by each other's side. Though they still had their own lives outside of each other; she still went to school, and of course still hung out with her friends and family.

Her family fell on hard times about a week after they had met. Kagome's father had gotten laid off from his job which meant no more money for Kagome to continue going to college. However, instead of letting that break her and quit going to school, she started up her own little business of making videos using different sounds - some silly, some sad, some happy, some on serious matters, she even made her own sounds using characters that she had made up. She also made videos promoting her business as well as videos of the adventures she and Inuyasha had went on, the extreme activities that they did and just their everyday life. She quickly gained followers at a fast rate which she used to start live streams while she worked. She made her own images and put them on hoodies, sweatpants, shirts, cups, tumblers and mugs, honestly anything that could be printed on. Her images consisted of different saying that included 'Shh, I'm Enjoying Nature', 'Shh, I'm Watching The Wildlife', 'If You Don't like hiking We Can't Be Friends', 'If You Don't Like Camping We Can't Be Friends', 'If You Don't Like Extreme Sports We Can't Be Friends', 'Hiking Squad', 'Camping Squad', 'Extreme Sports Squad' and 'Camp And Chill'. While she worked, she talked about true crime, read crazy stories that people posted online, talked about the dark meanings behind nursery rhymes, or just talked back and forth with the people that clicked into her live stream. By doing that, she's able to keep going to college and able to keep paying her bills.

Inuyasha was incredibly proud of her; she had just started this little business of hers almost a month ago and it had already taken off nicely, people love her product. He loved how hard she worked and how much love she put into her products that she made and put up for sale.

She was only going to keep this business open until she graduated, this was just something to get her through college and get the things that she needed. She didn't think that she'd have the time to keep it up while also living the life of a nurse, which she was kind of sad about because she loved crafting, but such was life. However, she did plan on making videos and her own content still and planned on making nurse content as well.

Inuyasha had made appearances in Kagome's videos and lives as well as having someone taking videos of him giving rides out to people, which he started some time ago, he also had a great fan base which he's verified and is able to make a little extra money from. He still went to work at the water park, hung out with his friends and family and was able to still have his alone time that he enjoyed immensely, however, the alone time was quickly being replaced with having her by his side - and he was okay with that.

One of the few nights he spent alone was his human night, she knew that he was a half-demon - he made sure that she knew that early on so as not to waste either of their time. Though, being a half-demon isn't as taboo as it once was, there were still people who turned up their noses at half-demons. He just wanted to make sure she wasn't one of them, he was ecstatic when she said that she didn't care whether he was half or full, she liked him just the way he was, though she admitted that she didn't know very much about demons or half-demons. So, he figured that the next moonless night, which coincidentally was going to be when they were going to be camping, he'd let her see his transformation.

He had decided that he was going to have to have a conversation about it with her soon, maybe today. They were going to be on the camping trip for two days and he'd be turning human on the moonless night on the second night. He sighed and put that thought to the side for later as he took the last few steps towards the dresser and sat the tray on top of it before walking to the bed and sitting down.

"Hey, Kitten," Inuyasha called quietly as he gently shook her shoulder, "it's time to wake up. I brought breakfast."

"Mmm." Kagome mumbled as she rolled over on her back and stretched before cracking her eyes open and looked at Inuyasha with a small smile curling her lips. "Morning."

"Good morning." Inuyasha spoke tenderly, kissing the tip of Kagome's nose, making her giggle. He then stood up to grab the tray of food and sat it on her lap.

"Mmm, it looks and smells amazing." She smiled as she took a deep inhale of the aroma the food was letting off as Inuyasha got back into bed so they could eat together.

Once Inuyasha got settled into bed he reached over and gently gripped her chin and turned her head to face him before claiming her lips in a slow passionate kiss. "Happy one month anniversary, Kitten." He mumbled against her lips, still holding her chin between his fingers so he could rub their noses together.

Kagome smiled as she raised her hand to cup the side of his neck so she could trace his jawline with her thumb as she pulled him in for another kiss. "Happy anniversary, Inu."

Inuyasha released a happy sigh before pulling away and looking down into her eyes, his face soft as it bespoke of all the emotions he was feeling but scared that if he'd say them out loud, he'd scare her away. So, with that he kept them to himself for now and would wait for her to confess first. "Let's eat, we need to get moving to make it in time for our reservation." He said as he turned away from her and started eating.

She picked up her sausage, egg and cheese biscuit, took a bite, chewed and swallowed before she looked at him with a smile. "Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise." Inuyasha replied with his own smile as he continued to eat. "Though, you'll get to meet my friends - Sango and Miroku - he made a reservation at the same place, without knowing that I had as well. It's at the same time that we're going to be there. I've been wanting you to meet them anyway, so this is perfect." He explained as he took a drink of his coffee before going on.

"That is perfect!" Kagome replied with a bright smile. Her previous relationship, her boyfriend refused to let her meet his friends, so this was a first. She was excited as much as she was nervous, she hoped that she made a good impression on them. "I can't wait!"

"Great! Also, next Sunday, my mom and pop are having a barbeque party before the cold weather sets in and asked if I was coming. I thought that it'd be a good time for you to meet my family, is that okay?" He asked with a little uncertainty as he looked at her from the corner of his eye. "If you're not ready for something like that it's fine, I can go on my own."

Kagome looked at him from the corner of her eye as she hid a pleased smile behind her juice glass as she watched him pick at his food with a nervous expression on his face. She sat her juice down before looking at him fully with a wide smile. "I would love to meet your friends and family, they sound nice."

Inuyasha's heart skipped a beat as he released a breath, he didn't know he'd been holding. "Okay, I'll let my mom know that we'll be there." He replied as he finished up his food.

"Oh, that reminds me, my mom asked me to come out next Saturday for dinner. She's been begging me to bring you by so she could meet you. Do you want to come meet my parents?" Kagome asked, looking at him as she bit her lip.

"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed gently as he raised his hand to gently slide her lip from between her teeth before running the pad of his thumb along her bottom lip, "sure, Kitten, I would love to meet your family." He replied with a small smile that grew when her smile stretched across her face.

"Yay!" Kagome exclaimed with a smile as she drank the last of her coffee before looking at him once again. "Oh, and my friends want to meet you too! Would it be okay if I set up a lunch date for you all to meet?"

"Sure, Kitten, that's fine with me." Inuyasha replied with a small smile and a nod as he grabbed the tray and lifted it off the bed. "I'll go wash these up real quick while you go take a shower and get ready to leave, we have about an hour's worth of driving to do." He commented as he stood up and started walking towards the door.

"Oh, wait!" Kagome called out as she jumped off the bed and threw on his shirt from the night before and jogged over to where Inuyasha stopped as he turned to face her with a cocked eyebrow. "Let me do the dishes! Please? You were so sweet to make me breakfast in bed, the least I could do is do the dishes." She pleaded as she lifted her hands to grip the tray as she looked up at him with a small smile playing on her lips.

"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed gently as his own smile curled his lips at how cute she was, "you don't have to, Kitten, I can do them."

"I know but I want to, I wanna do something nice for you too!" Kagome replied as she shrugged her shoulders.

Inuyasha flicked his eyes down and watched as she shrugged, noticing that the collar of his shirt had dropped off her shoulder leaving it bare, and he couldn't help but want to dip in for a taste of her exposed skin. However, before he could do just that, he felt her fingers flutter over his own fingers and his eyes flickered back up to hers.

"Please?" She pleaded again as her eyes widened, pleading with him to let her do this small act of kindness.

"Okay, sure you can, Kitten." Inuyasha Responded, not being able to deny her anything that she asked for. He was sure that if she were to ask for the moon on a rope, he'd search for a way to make it happen just for her. He'd do anything for her just to see her happy and smiling at him, damn, he sure was a fucking goner for her. He pulled on the tray, bringing her closer to him leaning down before placing his face in hers, his lips a hair's breadth away from hers. "Only on one condition."

"What's that?" Kagome asked in a breathy whisper as her heart raced in her chest and her eyes flicked down to stare at Inuyasha's lips as she licked her lips.

Fuck, she was so fucking beautiful in that moment that he almost took the tray away from her before throwing her on the floor and having his way with her. He growled lowly, causing her eyes to flick back up to stare in his as she bit her lip which elicited another needy growl to rumble his chest as he fought to control himself. They didn't have the time right now for him to do all the sinful things he wanted to her and still make it on time for their reservation. He shook all the dirty things he wanted to do to her from his mind before smirking and leaning a little closer to her, his smirk widening when he heard the breath hitch in her throat. "You can do the dishes only if I can help, you wash, I dry." He murmured as he brought a hand up to grip her chin and tilted her face up a little more. "And then after we're done with the dishes, we can take a shower, what d'you say - hmm?" He asked as he started to rub their noses together.

Kagome's mind started to fog, she just barely remembered that she was holding the tray as her grip tightened on it. Her breath started to come out in pants as her heart raced even harder, she was afraid that it might beat its way out of her chest if it pounded any harder. "O-okay." She mumbled as her eyes fluttered closed as Inuyasha closed the short distance and claimed her lips with his own before pulling away a short time later and sidestepping her, still holding the tray that he managed to get out of her hands and exiting the room - leaving Kagome behind to get her bearings before she joined him in the kitchen a short time later.

Pulling up to the camping ground a little over an hour before their scheduled time to check in, Inuyasha turned his truck off before leaning his head against the headrest with a sigh. On the car drive to the campground, they talked about little things, joked and sang songs together. He wasn't one to brag or anything, but he knew he had a great singing voice and holy fuck, Kagome sounded like a fucking angel when she sang! He could listen to her sing all day and night.

He mentally sighed, he wanted to tell her what would happen the night after tomorrow night, but he was nervous. He's had relationships end abruptly when he told the one that he was in a relationship with that he turns into a human on a certain night once a month. They found it extremely weird that someone can change appearances like that and couldn't get over that fact. He never had the chance of telling them about his other more primal side. Well, his recent ex knew about every side of him and could tell it bothered her, no matter how many times she told him it didn't, he could see the lie swimming deep in her eyes.

He ignored it the best he could but didn't miss the fact that once she had found out about his human side, it was the only side that she cared to be around. Sure, she was around him while he was in his half-demon form, however, she never touched him or went out into public with him unless he was human. She used to say it was only natural with her being a human that she is intimate or seen in public with a human. He was stupid and naive and let it slide, thinking that she was the best he could get. She was his longest relationship after all, so he figured that she was what he deserved.

It all came to an end, however, when they were at the grocery store. He was pushing a cart while she was throwing in the food that she wanted him to purchase when they heard commotion outside a window they were standing by. Inuyasha turned his head to see that a woman and a young child that was clutched in her arms were backed into a corner by a pack of wild wolf demons that were growling and barking at them.

"Leave it alone, Yashie."

He cringed internally, ugh, he hated that nickname that she had picked out - even told her so but she just shrugged it off and continued to call him Yashie. After countless times of him telling her not to, he finally gave up when he realized how fruitless it was to do so. The only ones that he accepted calling him that were his nieces because they're children.

They were basically the only ones there, it was early morning, and everyone was either at work or at school. He noticed an elderly couple shopping as well as two young women with toddlers with them as well, shit. The only cashier that was here was a scrawny human boy that looked fresh out of high school who was calling the police at that moment. Point of the matter was, the cops wouldn't be here in time, so he was the only one there that could help that young woman and her child from the ravenous wolf pack.

He let go of the cart and took a few steps towards the door leading outside when a hand on his arm stopped him, making him look down at the hand before looking at the pissed off face of his girlfriend.

"Yashie, I said leave it alone. It's none of our business." She warned before going back to look at the many choices of cereals again.

"Please! Someone, help me!" The frightened woman screamed and Inuyasha turned to see the wolves slowly moving towards them.

'Yeah, fuck this.' Inuyasha growled to himself as he turned on his heel and ran outside to help the young woman.

"Yashie, get back here!" He heard his girlfriend shriek behind him, but he didn't listen as he exited the grocery store.

As he ran closer to the scene, he was able to turn the wolves focus off the young woman and her child to him long enough for the woman to run inside the store for safety.

Pissed off that they lost their meal, the wolves attacked Inuyasha and he was seriously wounded in the process.

'Shit!' Inuyasha thought to himself as he brought his hand up to put pressure on the deep gash that started in the middle of his chest and ended on his left hip, it was bleeding profusely. His vision was starting to get blurry from the blood loss, he cursed again as he tried his hardest to keep his eyesight fixed on the wolves that were slowly advancing on him as they growled and barked at him.

'Let me out.' A voice from deep within his consciousness growled as he made his way to the forefront.

'Fuck!' Inuyasha growled deep in his chest, his vision getting worse as the whites in his eyes flashed from white to red and then back again as his gold irises changed from gold to topaz before changing back. His hair floated in the air all around him as his claws and fangs elongated and his growl grew louder. 'Only the wolves, asshole, don't hurt anyone else. Once you're finished, you are to let me have control back.' He hated that he didn't have any other choice at the moment, he didn't want to scare anyone or have them thinking he was a freak or a monster.

'Yeah, yeah.' Was the last thing that was said as Inuyasha stepped back and let his demon take the wheel, he was still able to see everything that was happening, he just wasn't in control of his body - which was weird as fuck and something that he would probably never get used to. It felt like it was an out of body experience for him and he hated it. Though, he was glad that he was able to have control over his demon because it wasn't always like that. He used leave wherever he was in a mass destruction and many innocents lost their lives at his hands, but that was hundreds of years ago, now he had a nice handle on his demon.

Demons lived way longer than normal humans, Inuyasha was close to seven hundred years old in demon years but in human years he was twenty-eight. It was weird and confusing, but demons aged slower than humans, a lot slower - some living hundreds of thousands of years before meeting their end.

When his demon stepped back and let him have control again, the wolves were dead and the people that witnessed what had happened were applauding and cheering. The only person that looked disgusted with him was the one person he desperately hoped wouldn't be looking at him like that - his girlfriend. She had given him looks like this before, just not as hard as she was now. The only time that she didn't look at him like he was some kind of freak was when he was human.

A week later, he found her in bed with his cousin which didn't make a lick of sense. He was a full demon, he thought she wanted a human, that's why she wouldn't touch him while he was a half-demon. He could see now, that was a load of bullshit. That was the end of their five-year relationship.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome called out as she shook his shoulder, shaking away the memory as he looked at her.

"Huh?" Inuyasha mumbled as he looked around like he had forgotten where he was at the moment. "Oh, sorry." He looked at her with an apology in his eyes. "I guess I kinda zoned out for a little bit."

"Where did you go just now?" Kagome asked as she tilted her head with concern written on her face.

Inuyasha let out a long sigh as he looked out the windshield. "Old memories of my past." He let out another sigh. "Listen, Kitten, I need to tell you something but I'm honestly a little worried too." He admitted as he looked at Kagome from the corner of his eye.

"Inu," Kagome mumbled as she cupped his cheek with her hand and turned his face to face her, "you don't have to be worried about anything. You know you can tell me whatever is on your mind, so what's up?" She reassured him with a smile and a slightly tilted head.

God, she's too cute. "Remember me telling you that I was a half-demon?" He was incredibly nervous to be having this conversation with her right now, but he knew it needed to be done before their relationship progressed any further.

"Yes, I remember." Kagome replied with a nod.

"Well, there's more to it than me simply being a half-demon."

"Like?" Kagome asked and Inuyasha could sense no malice in her features, just genuine curiosity as well as acceptance - which surprised the hell out of him because how can you accept something you don't know anything about?

Inuyasha cleared his throat before continuing. "Like on the night of the new moon, I'll look differently. I'll have black hair and deep brown eyes; I won't have claws or fangs because I'll be rendered a mere human."

"What?" Kagome asked as her eyes grew wide. "How long does that last for?" She was panicking just a little, she loved Inuyasha just the way he was and would miss his golden eyes, his sinfully sexy fangy smirk and his adorable little doggy ears.

"Just for the night of the new moon, once the sun rises again, I'll be back to normal." Inuyasha answered as he stared at her gauging her reactions as his heart hammered against his chest.

Kagome let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding. "Thank goodness, I think I might have doggy ear withdrawals if it were any longer." Rubbing Inuyasha's ears became her favorite pastime thing to do. Whenever they were relaxing watching movies or as they were coming down from some amazing sex, she rubbed his ears.

"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed gently with a fond smile on his lips as he grabbed her hand and brought it up so he could kiss the back of her knuckles before turning her hand to kiss her palm then then bend of her wrist, "there's more that you should know." He admitted as he twisted his hand to lace their fingers together.

"Okay, tell me." Kagome replied with a smile.

"If my, or someone that I deeply care about, life is in danger, I, uh-"

Kagome could tell that Inuyasha was having a hard time telling her this, an understanding smile curled her lips as she squeezed his hand. "It's okay, Inu, you can tell me."

Inuyasha took a slow deep breath in before letting it out in a gust of wind. 'God, please don't let her hate me.' He prayed to himself, he knew he had to tell her, but he was afraid that she'd leave him. If that happened, he knew he would have a harder time bouncing back than he ever did with any other break up that he had. "If my, or someone that I deeply care about, life is in danger," he started again in a shaky voice before having to swallow a few times to rid his throat of the lump that had formed there as his heart gave it it's best shot of pounding out of his chest, "my demon side comes out."

"Demon side?" Kagome asked as her head tilted in confusion.

Inuyasha could sense no animosity or hatred from Kagome's question, and she didn't pull her hand away from his. He couldn't help the tiny smile that ghosted on his lips as he thought she looked adorable when she was confused. He tightened his hand on hers and made little circles with his thumb on the back of her hand. "Yeah, my claws and fangs elongate as the whites in my eyes change from white to red and my irises change from gold to topaz. I'm more primal in this state, my mind going primarily on the instincts of my species of demon." He spoke with a sigh. "He used to take complete control over me and leave me in the dark while he caused mass destruction and casualties, and I would either have to be exhausted or someone that's special to me - like my mother or father and even Miroku was able to calm me down and change me back to normal. However, I have a better handle on him now and he listens to my orders and lets me have control back as soon as the threat is no longer present."

"Was it hard to learn to have control?" Kagome asked, interested in knowing everything she could about the man that she had deep feelings for.

"Yeah," Inuyasha mumbled as he scratched the back of his head and looked off to the side, "it was hard work, and it took longer than I'd like to admit."

Kagome could tell that Inuyasha felt bad for whatever happened in his past, she frowned as she brought her hand up to cup his cheek. Whatever he's been through must've been horrible and she could tell it took a toll on him. "I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, but I am so proud of you and glad that you learned to control that part of you."

His smile widened some as he lifted his free hand to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear before placing the palm of his hand against her cheek and gently swiping his thumb back and forth on her cheekbone. She was so amazing, so accepting of whatever he told her. He could never count his lucky stars enough to show how fucking happy he was to have her by his side. "You know, I had to fight him back the first time I touched you when you came for a ride on my water jet?" He chuckled lightly. "I also have to fight him back each and every time we have sex."

"Huh, why? Did I do something wrong?" Kagome asked as concern swam in her gray eyes.

Inuyasha brought Kagome's hand up to place another kiss to her knuckles before smiling at her. "No, no. It's nothing that you did wrong, you do everything right, it's just who you are to my demon."

"Um, who am I to your demon?" Kagome asked as she tilted her head again.

Inuyasha looked into her eyes, he saw no signs that she was freaked out or turned off about what he was saying, just normal confusion and the need to learn everything about him. His heart felt lighter and for the first time in his life, his demon felt at peace. "You remember the first time we touched and that zap that ran through our bodies?" At Kagome's nod, he continued. "My demon said one word when you touched me."

"What word?" Kagome asked.

"Mate." Inuyasha answered as he licked his lips and looked deep in her eyes, his heart pounding in his chest.

Kagome knew what mates were, she knew that much about the demon realm, however, she didn't know the specifics of it. "I've heard about mates but don't really know how all of that works."

He moved the covers out of the way so he could place her down on the bed before joining her on the other side and scooped her up so she could lay her head on his chest as they both fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, Inuyasha was awoken by the sun shining on his face, he tightened his hold on the woman in his arms as his eyes cracked open. He sighed, as he maneuvered his way out of bed, without waking Kagome up, he stretched, put on a pair of boxers and a pair of basketball shorts before walking out the room and into the bathroom to relieve himself. He walked outside to see that Miroku was already sitting outside drinking a bottle of water. He let out another sigh as he walked to where his friend sat and sat in an empty chair next to the man.

"Morning." Miroku mumbled as he handed Inuyasha a bottle of water. "How was your night?"

"Morning." Inuyasha mumbled back as he took a drink from the water bottle. "And my night was great, how was yours?"

Miroku sighed as he took another drink of water before screwing the cap back onto the bottle and placing it on the ground. "I tried to get Sango into my bed, but she called me a pervert, slammed the door in my face and took the room while I slept on the couch." He spoke in a whiney voice as he dragged his hand down his face. "She didn't even give me a pillow or a blanket." He moped with a sigh.

"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed as he took another swig from his bottle, "idiot, you should've known that she wasn't going to let you in her pants that easily."

"I'm so misunderstood." Miroku murmured a little sadly as he exhaled another sigh. "Look, I didn't want to get in her pants last night, I know that she's not ready for that, I just wanted to hold her. To really show her that I deeply care for her."

"Well, maybe stop groping her ass every chance you get then." Inuyasha suggested as he recapped his bottle and sat it on the ground next to Miroku's. "Also, you should probably stop hitting on every girl that you see. Right now, she sees you as nothing more than a lecher who wants to sleep with everyone that will give you the time of day. Show her that you don't want any other woman but her."

"You think that will work?" Miroku asked with hope glistening in his eyes.

"It's worth a shot." Inuyasha replied with a shrug as said woman walked out of the camper and took up an empty chair that was by Miroku, however, not too close to him at the same time.

Miroku handed Sango a bottle of water and she nodded to him in thanks before taking it and drinking some of it before recapping it. "How did you sleep, my dear?"

"I slept okay." Sango answered before looking around them. "Where's Kagome at?"

"She's still sleeping, I'm going to get her up here in a little bit so we can get started with our day." Inuyasha answered. "Speaking of Kagome, what did you guys think of her?" He was a little nervous as to what they would say, but he needed to know what they really thought of her.

"I really like her. She's much better than the last girl I met! I approve." Sango nodded; she was happy that her friend seemed to find a good woman this time.

"Agreed, you two are good for each other." Miroku nodded in agreement as he looked at his friend. "You guys have much of the same movements, if you move, she moves and vice versa. I see the way you look at her, and the way she looks at you, when either of you thinks no one is looking. I think she's a good match for you, I really do."

"Thank you, both of you, your opinion matters so much to me. She really does make me so happy." Inuyasha replied with a slight smile.

"I trust you've told her everything about you?" Miroku asked with a cocked eyebrow.

"Yes, I did." Inuyasha responded with a nod, his small smile still in place.

"And what did she say?" Sango asked, she was concerned for her friend, she knew how hard of a time he had with getting people to like him for all of him and not just like him for a certain part.

Inuyasha's smile widened as he answered. "She told me that she accepts me, all of me."

"That's great!" Sango exclaimed with a wide smile.

"I'm really happy for you, my friend." Miroku said with his own smile. "I wish you both all the happiness in life."

"Thank you, guys, that means a lot." Inuyasha spoke as he picked his water bottle up and took another drink.

"Does she know what will happen tonight?" Miroku asked as he took his own drink from his bottle.

"She does." Inuyasha nodded.

"What did she say?" Sango asked, she couldn't help but be concerned, she knew what happened in his past relationships and only wanted her friend to be happy.

"She asked me how long it would last," Inuyasha replied with a chuckle and a shake of his head, "when I told her that it would only last the night, she breathed a sigh of relief saying that she might have had withdrawals if my ears were gone for any longer than that."

Sango and Miroku shared their own giggles and chuckles.

"And your demon side?" Miroku asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I told her I have to fight my demon side off every time we have intercourse, she asked why and if she was doing something wrong, I told her that it's because my demon has claimed her as my mate and that he wants to mark her." Inuyasha explained, his heart feeling light for the first time in years.

"Woah." Sango mumbled, surprised that the young girl was her friend's mate.

"I never thought I'd live to see the day that you find your mate!" Miroku exclaimed with a smile. "I'm happy for you, my friend."

"Yeah, I was beginning to lose hope as well." Inuyasha replied with a sigh. "I even told her about you." He said looking at Miroku.

"Oh, yeah?" Miroku asked with a raised eyebrow. "How did she take that news?"

"She took it well, she asked a few questions but other than that, she understood the concept." Inuyasha responded.

"Yeah, I thought I caught her staring at my arm yesterday before we went on the hike." Miroku mused, he wasn't irritated or anything, just something that he caught.

"She was probably trying to be discreet and peek at your mark, I told her about it while we sat in the car when we got here." Inuyasha explained.

"I'll show it to her later." Miroku nodded to himself.

Nothing else was able to be said on the subject as the woman that they were talking about stepped outside wearing one of Inuyasha's shirts and a pair of white plaid pajama pants. She stretched her arms over her head and arched her back as she yawned before relaxing her arms back to her sides, walked over to where they sat and sat in the empty chair next to Inuyasha. "Good morning!" She chirped as she looked at the other three.

"Morning!" They all said at the same time, making Kagome giggle.

"So, what are we doing today?" Kagome asked, excited to get the day started.

"We are going kayaking." Inuyasha answered as he stood up before grabbing Kagome's hand and pulling her up as well. "Come on, let's go eat a little something before we put on our swimsuits and go."

After eating a quick bowl of cereal, they all got changed into their swimsuits and started the walk to the kayak renting station where they got two two-seater kayaks before starting for the river that led into a swimming area. They placed their kayaks into the water before stepping in and sitting down. Inuyasha and Kagome in one while Sango and Miroku were in the other. The river was wide enough that they could paddle side by side, so they decided to have a little fun and have a race.

"On your mark, get set, go!" Kagome called out before paddling along with Inuyasha to get the lead.

They were on a more advanced river trail that had fast moving water along with small waterfalls and quick turns. They all almost capsized a few times; however, they were all able to stay up right along the thirty-minute kayak session.

They laughed as they each tried to sabotage the other team in order for them to win, it was all in good fun, and they all were having a blast.

Inuyasha and Kagome won, with Sango and Miroku close second. They were in the swimming area. It was calmer water than the kayak trail that they just did, so Kagome stood up and did a little victory dance for winning the race.

Miroku reached his hand over and tilted their kayak enough, making them capsized and splashed into the water. However, Kagome and Inuyasha just swam to their kayak and tipped them over as well, turning the couple's laughs into surprised shrieks. They all laughed as they swam and splashed around while getting out of the swimming area a few times before doing some sort of trick back into the pool. They swam for a few hours before they got out, grabbed their kayaks and made the hike back to the kayak renting station to return their kayaks.

"What's next?" Kagome asked excitedly as she skipped around.

"Lunch is what's next." Inuyasha chuckled as he watched Kagome skip, he was glad she was having fun. "Then I was thinking about taking you on a ride on the water jet, if you'd like."

"Ooo! Okay!" Kagome squealed with a huge smile stretching across her face.

"What do you guys think of another barbeque?" Miroku asked as they walked towards where their campers were. "I have more hamburgers and hotdogs."

"That sounds good to me." Inuyasha nodded in approval.

"Me too!" Sango and Kagome replied at the same time, making them giggle before falling into a conversation to get more acquainted with each other.

Inuyasha sent Kagome a fond smile before he followed Miroku into his camper to help get the food ready to cook.

Once the food was cooked and eaten, they all went to the lake so Inuyasha and Miroku could get the water jet set up and ready to give Kagome her ride. With everything set up and ready to go, Inuyasha strapped the water jet to his feet and made a couple of laps and a few tricks to make sure everything was working correctly.

Sango hopped into Miroku's jet boat as he walked over to where Kagome stood as she watched Inuyasha show off on his water jet as he did multiple backflips in a row. He stopped beside her and chuckled at Inuyasha's antics. "He's a big kid sometimes." He chuckled again as Inuyasha dove into the water before shooting himself back up into the air.

Kagome looked over at Miroku with a small smile curling her lips as she noticed the softness of his face as he watched his best friend on the water jet. He was right, Inuyasha could act like a kid sometimes, but that's what made Inuyasha, Inuyasha - he had so many parts of him that made him a whole, and she loved every part.

"Inuyasha told me that he told you everything about him and that you understood and accepted everything." Miroku mentioned as he looked from Inuyasha to Kagome. "Are you sure you really understand? Have you really grasped what is going to happen tonight?"

"Um," Kagome mumbled as she looked at Miroku, "he told me that he turns into a human tonight and that it'll last for only tonight. I'm not sure I understand completely what's going to happen, but I'm sure it'll make more sense when it happens and I see it."

Miroku nodded, that was a fair answer to his question, he knew it took him seeing every part of Inuyasha to fully grasp what kind of person he was but when he did - he vowed to always be his best friend. "Did he tell you that his ex would only touch him when he was a human?"

"What? Why?" Kagome asked shocked, and Miroku was pleasantly surprised when he saw anger flash in her eyes.

"Being a half-demon repulsed a lot of people; he's had, and still has, a lot of prejudice thrown his way - even from his past girlfriends. Once they had even an iota of knowledge of his human side, that would be the only side they would want to be with." Miroku explained with a sigh. "Both humans and demons alike didn't care for him, the demon community just barely accepted him, and when I came along to live with them - they only tolerated me because Inuyasha's family was royalty way back then."

"Well, that's just stupid." Kagome scrunched up her nose as she looked back up at Inuyasha as he did a backflip before making another lap around the lake. "I hate that he, and so many others, had to, and still have to, deal with all that. I wish everyone could see the man that he really is."

"Yeah, me too, but people tend to fear what they don't understand or know." Miroku mumbled as he too looked up at his best friend as he did another lap around the lake. "He told me he told you about what happened to me."

"Yeah, he did." Kagome nodded as she looked back at Miroku. "He told me they did a family bonding ritual to you to make you part of their family so that you could live with them."

"Yeah," Miroku replied with a sigh as he looked at Kagome from the corner of his eye, "I had to drink Inuyasha's dad's blood, it knocked me out for the rest of the day and into the night as his blood mixed with mine."

"Um," Kagome mumbled as she looked down at the ground while biting her lip in thought, "did it hurt?"

"Did what hurt?" Miroku asked with a raised eyebrow. "The bonding of our blood?"

Kagome nodded as she continued to look down at the ground. "That... and the bite."

Miroku blew out a lungful of air before looking back at his friend as he did several fast spins before dropping close to the water's surface and going back up in the air at a fast speed. "The bite itself hurt, yes, it felt like someone was trying to rip my arm off and burn it at the same time. As for the bonding of our blood, I wasn't conscious for very long, but I remember intense burning throughout my entire body right before I passed out." Miroku looked back at Kagome's face and noticed that it lost some of its color. "However, I am not sure how a mating bond works or how it feels, it could feel entirely different - or it could feel the same, I don't know."

"Okay, thank you for telling me." Kagome sent Miroku a small smile, she was scared, but at least she knew, sort of, of what to expect - and for that she was grateful.

"You're welcome." Miroku sent his own smile back at her. "Would you like to see my mark up close?"

Kagome's smile widened as she nodded her head and watched as Miroku stretched his arm out towards her so she could see his mark. Kagome let out a small gasp as she looked down at his mark, up close she could see a silver crescent moon with a thin outline in gold with small golden stars surrounding the moon, the dog was a beautiful white dog with red eyes, it was sitting on the edge of a cliff - she could see the detail in both the fur of the dog and the moon, it was beautiful. The black mark that she couldn't make out were words that read; Takahashi's Chosen Family Bond, written in small black words that were outlined in gold. The whole mark sparkled gold in the sunlight, she thought it was beautiful and hoped that her mark resembled Miroku's.

"Oh, wow, it's beautiful." Kagome whispered in awe as she continued to look at the mark.

"Yeah, I like it." Miroku replied with a shrug and a small smile before placing his arm back at his side.

"Hey, Miroku?" Kagome mumbled as she turned her attention back to Inuyasha.

"Hmm?" Miroku answered as he did the same.

"I don't want you or Sango to worry, I really care deeply for Inuyasha." Kagome spoke softly, with fondness in her voice. "I will never hurt him or choose a certain side of him. I want all of him, forever and always."

A smile ghosted on Miroku's lips as he looked back at the young woman as she continued to watch Inuyasha. "I know you do." He replied as he looked back up at Inuyasha. "You two make a great pair, you're good for him and he's good for you. I wish you two all the happiness in the world." He said as he began to walk away.

Kagome gasped as she looked at Miroku's retreating form but before she could say anything, Inuyasha lowered down and beckoned her to him to start their ride.

Once Inuyasha was up in the air he made a few laps and a couple of tricks to make sure everything was working properly before he picked Kagome up for her ride. However, when he was about to dip down to grab her, he noticed that Miroku had walked up to her and started up a conversation. He trusted Miroku completely, so he decided to play around and do some more tricks and laps while the two had their talk. He watched as they went back and forth from looking at each other and then looking up at him. He saw as Miroku stuck his arm out and Kagome looking down at it, he guessed he was showing her his mark like he said he was going too. Then shortly after that, he walked away, giving Inuyasha the chance to swoop down to get her.

"Are you ready for your ride, Kitten?" Inuyasha asked, gaining Kagome's attention before beckoning her to come to him by moving his finger in a come-hither motion.

A smile stretched across Kagome's lips as she ran and jumped onto Inuyasha as her arms wrapped around his neck and her legs wrapped around his waist while she leaned her forehead against his, their lips a hair's breadth apart. Her heart pounded as her breath came out in pants, her body suddenly felt on fire and desperately needed Inuyasha to put it out. It was crazy how her body went from zero to one hundred when she was around him, it was almost alarming how reactive her body was to him.

Inuyasha caught her with an arm around her waist and his opposite hand gripping the back of her neck, keeping her from moving away from him as he shot them up in the air while he spun them around. He heard Miroku's jet boat start up but didn't pay him any mind as he continued to look his Kitten in her eyes as they had a silent conversation, each of them desperately trying to show the other just how much they meant to them.

"Inu." Kagome whimpered as she tightened her hold on him.

Inuyasha let out a low growl before covering Kagome's mouth with his in a slow meaningful kiss before pulling away and gently pushed her head against his shoulder as he did a few backflips, loving the sound of her laughter. He then spun them around, at a fast speed, letting go of Kagome's neck to grip her hips with his hands as she let her upper body fall back with her hands above her head. God, she's so fucking beautiful, and he could listen to her laughter on repeat for the rest of his life and never tire of it. His hands slid from her hips to the small of her back, leaving a fiery path as they moved across her skin, before he pulled her back to him and placed his lips next to her ear. "Hold your breath, Kitten." He breathed against her ear, reveling in the way her body shivered as his breath fanned across her skin.

Kagome nodded as she wrapped her arms around Inuyasha's neck and sucked in a large gulp of air as he dived into the water before coming back up to only dive once more then shot them at a fast speed up into the air.

He then tapped Kagome on the hip, silently telling her to unwind her legs from his waist and when she did, he bent down to pick her back up bridal style as he did a few more backflips before spinning them once again at a fast speed. Her laughter filling his ears made his heart skip a beat and a smile to curl his lips, it was one of his favorite sounds that she made. He then dropped her legs to have her stand back up before turning her around so that her back rested against his chest as one of his arms wrapped around her waist before spinning them once again, eliciting another round of laughter from Kagome as her legs flew out from underneath her. He then did a couple laps around the lake, dropping them down close to the water's surface then shot them back up into the air, he did this several times before turning her to face him. He gripped the tops of her arms and instructed her to do the same to him before he spun them around once again.

Inuyasha's heart skipped a beat at the peaceful look that was on Kagome's face as she tilted her head back while her eyes closed, and a small smile ghosted on her lips. She looked so serene at this moment, he almost choked on the emotion that snuck up on him, but he was able to push them down for now and just focus on her. He pulled her back close to him and picked her back up as her legs wrapped around his waist while he attacked her neck with his mouth before he could stop himself as he did a few lazy spins, not really paying much attention to the ride right at the moment.

Kagome gasped, moaned and tilted her head so Inuyasha could have full access to her neck as he kissed, licked and nipped at her skin as he drifted around the lake with all of his attention being on her and not the ride. Only time and actions on her part would heal his invisible wounds though, she knew that it would take some work on her part, and she was okay with that.

She nodded her understanding, and Inuyasha lowered them back down to the lake's deck so he could drop her off before he nodded back at Miroku, who had ceased his make-out session with Sango long enough to turn the water jet off so Inuyasha could climb on the deck, take it off and put it away as Miroku parked his jet boat.

Once Inuyasha put his water jet up and in its place in Miroku's jet boat, he grabbed Kagome's hand and jogged back to their camper before the last rays of sunlight dissipated.

Kagome watched as Inuyasha's hair turned from silvery-white to a muted gray before turning a dark gray and then finishing off a dark black color. His honey golden eyes grew darker and darker until they were a deep brown, almost black, color. His face grew slightly more round and not as smooth as it usually is, she noted as she reached up to run her fingers along his skin. His hair wasn't as soft, she determined, as she moved her hand to run her fingers through his hair, she picked up his hand and noticed that his claws were gone before pulling him in for a kiss so she could run her tongue along his teeth - no fangs. She pulled away to look at him, he was still a very handsome man, although she still much preferred his half-demon form. She reached up to smooth the wrinkles from his furrowed eyebrows before trailing her fingers down his face, along his jaw to his chin and pulled him in for a kiss that she hoped spoke of her true feelings. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss as she pulled him closer to her.

She didn't know if it was because he was nervous about her true intentions or if it was because he was human now, however, it didn't take away the effect he had on her. Inuyasha's breath caught in his throat as his heart skipped a beat at the truth he heard in her words, he leaned his forehead against hers as he took in a deep breath. "You promise you'll still want me in the morning?"

Kagome smiled as he stole her words that she said a month ago, and she gave him the same answer he gave her. "Oh, Inu, if you think for even a second that I won't want anything to do with you when we wake up - you're sorely mistaken. I want you tonight and I'll want you tomorrow and the next and the next and the next, for as long as you want me, I'll want you."

Inuyasha didn't say anything, didn't even give Kagome a warning, before he crashed his mouth to hers in a needy kiss and swallowed her surprised gasp as he circled her waist with his arms and picked her up. Inuyasha didn't have enough time to reply when the hostess came back with their drinks with a smile. "Your server this morning is Rin, she'll be with you shortly to take your orders." She informed them before walking off to take her post behind the podium again.

Once she was done cleaning her place, she left to meet her friends for lunch at the restaurant.

Kagome nodded with a large smile on her face. "I know right? It was really fun." She replied as she ate a fry before continuing. "I also met his friends; they were nice, and we clicked together well. Sango has a brother around my brother's age, and we plan to meet up soon and have them meet to see if they can form a friendship with each other. Inuyasha and I also connected on a whole other level that brought us so much closer as a couple. Everything was just so perfect!"

"That's great!" Yuka exclaimed with a bright smile as she took a bite of her cheeseburger.

"That's not even the best part." Kagome replied with a smirk playing on her lips.

"What's the best part?" Ayumi asked as she leaned forward with eagerness.

"He told me every part of what it was like to be a demon, explained it so openly and left nothing out - even the not-so-great things - he told me everything. He even told me that his demon saw me as his mate!"

"So, when do we get to meet him?" Eri asked as she popped a fry into her mouth.

"Well, we have to go to my parent's house for dinner on Saturday, then his parent's house for dinner on Sunday, so I was thinking - he doesn't work on Monday, so maybe we can meet up and have dinner next Monday, if that works for you?"

She said that she was going to the water park today to talk to him." Eri answered, giving Kagome a worried look. "I'd keep my eye out for her."

"Yeah, you might have a real problem on your hands when it comes to her." Yuka nodded in agreement to Eri's warning.

"No telling what she might do to try and win him back." Ayumi added with a sad expression, she didn't want Kagome to go through another heartbreak, she was sure this one would be way worse than the last one.

"Kikyo is his ex?" Kagome's heart stopped in her chest for just a second, she couldn't help but think 'what if?' What if he took her back? What if he never really even cared about her at all and she was just a step in for Kikyo?

"He didn't tell you about her?" Eri asked with a sad expression on her face.

"He did, he told me about her, but he never mentioned her name." Kagome answered, looking into her milkshake as she moved her straw around it. "But I'm sure it's fine. There's no way that he'd take her back - right?" She asked as she looked up at the others with a hopeful looking shining in her eyes.

"Uh." Yuka mumbled as the three friends shared a concerned look with each other.

"I don't think you have anything to worry about, Kagome." Ayumi replied with a small smile.

"But." Yuka added with as much compassion she could muster up.

"Maybe you should go to the water park just to make sure." Eri finished with just as much compassion as Yuka.

Kagome looked down at the table as she bit her lower lip in thought, she really did want to go check it out, but she didn't want to break the trust they had with each other. If she were to go there and nothing was going on, it would show that she didn't trust him, that she was just like every other girl that he's been with. She didn't want that; she really did trust him with everything she had in her heart. She looked up with raw determination in her eyes as she shook her head. "No, I'm sure Inuyasha will be able to handle it. I know everything will be okay." She ignored it all as she ran out of the park, to the parking lot, threw her car door open before getting in and slamming the door shut before starting her car. She had heard from a reliable source that there was a new drug going around that would make the one affected with it see whatever the one that threw it wanted.

"Password." The man grunted in a deep angry voice as his beady eyes glared down at her.

The man grunted again as he quickly closed the cover and opened the door a minute later. He stood in the doorway with his arms folded across his chest and a scowl set on his face.

Her father was much the same way with anyone who came to him for one reason or the other, so she was used to this type of behavior, and it didn't scare or intimidate her one bit.

"I'm here to talk to Naraku about something." Kikyo answered without any hesitation.

"And what something would that be, little girly?" The man asked, not moving to show her the way to the man in question.

As they walked through the room that was filled with people that were either intoxicated by the stronger, illegal alcohol or they were strung out on one - maybe more - of the many drugs that were distributed here. The place was full of smoke, drunken laughter, loud animated voice, a few people that were having a bad trip on the drugs that they took and was freaking out while they were hallucinating, a couple of people passed out on their tables or the floor and a handful of people that were in an argument that looked close to coming to blows at any given moment.

Ugh, she mentally grumbled, she hoped that this wouldn't take very long. This kind of place was beneath her. She couldn't believe that she was forced to come here in order to win back control of what belonged to her from the very start.

She was disgusted at the state that the people here were in and wrinkled up her nose more as she stepped over an unconscious body that was lying on the floor. God, she hated it here and hoped beyond hope that she would never have to come back to this dirty hole in the wall.

The man led her up the stairs, down the short hallway that led to a black door that was at the very end of the hall, he raised his hand and gave a few sharp knocks.

"Come in." A smooth voice called from behind the door.

The man opened the door and pushed her in before closing it and going back to his post.

"What may I do for you?" The man behind the desk asked as he straightened up his stack of papers before folding his hands together and laid them on top of the papers as he looked up at her with a raised eyebrow.

"You do realize that it's in its experimental stage, right?" Naraku asked. Phantasmagoria was still in the beginning stages really; it wasn't up to what he had wanted it to be. The effects only lasted a few seconds; however, he really wanted it to last much, much longer than that. He wouldn't be satisfied with it unless the effects lasted for at least an entire day.

"Well, what better way to experiment than to have some field use and some real testing subjects." Kikyo suggested with what she hoped was a convincing smile. She was determined to get her hands on this drug, it didn't matter what she had to do in order to get her hands on it.

"I'm afraid that you might not be satisfied with the results you'll get." Naraku warned.

"Meaning?" Kikyo asked as her eyes narrowed further, she didn't care what she had to do, she was going to leave here with the drug no matter the cost.

Naraku sighed as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his desk while he held his still folded hands against his mouth before speaking. "Meaning that the effectiveness of the drug doesn't last as long as I would like right now, however, it does work - it just wears off fast, very fast."

"I don't care, I want some!" Kikyo demanded with a determined look set in her eyes. "How much?"

"One hundred and fifty dollars a bag." Naraku stated matter of fact. "Can you pay it, girly?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, I can." Kikyo nodded as she pulled enough cash for two bags out of her pocket before handing it to Naraku.

Naraku recounted before placing it in his lockbox, unlocked a drawer in his desk, pulled out two clear bags with white power that sparkled in the light and handed it to Kikyo. "When you're using this, you have to think of what you want the person to see while you're holding the powder with your bare hand before you throw it in the person's face. The powder will get in the person's eyes and then they will see whatever you were thinking about. They will also forget what just happened about a minute before that. He warned before waving her off, silently telling her that the conversation was now over and that she should leave.

Kikyo nodded as she turned on her heel and left the office, walked through the lounge area where the fight that was brewing when she walked in was in full swing now, and even some people that were not involved were now a part of the fight. She walked as fast as she could, dodging beer bottles, mugs, food, chairs and bodies as she ran out of the establishment and into the cool night air to walk home. She'd put her plan into action tomorrow.

She poured some of the sparkly powder into her hand, closed her hand around it and made her move to him when she watched him stand up and walked to the table, that the old woman sat at, to take his phone out of the lockbox before unlocking the screen. She walked faster, trying to get to him before he sent out a message to the hoe Kagome.

"Oh, Yashie!" Kikyo called out with a fake smile curling her lips, she watched as Inuyasha stopped walking towards his moron of a best friend and tense up before slowly turning around with an irritated look on his face.

"What do you want, Kikyo?" Inuyasha asked angrily before looking back at his phone, not really paying attention to what Kikyo had to say.

"Oh, you know," Kikyo replied with a shrug when she stopped in front of him before reaching up and running her finger down his bare chest.

Inuyasha scoffed as he slapped her hand away from his chest. "Don't fucking touch me!"

"Oh, Yashie, don't be that way." Kikyo fake pouted. "You can't honestly still be mad at me, can you? That was just a misunderstanding!"

"Keh," Inuyasha scoffed again with a roll of his eyes, "yeah, a big fucking misunderstanding when I caught you in my bed fucking my cousin!" He yelled as Miroku and Sango reached his side, however, they didn't say anything.

"Oh, please." Kikyo replied as he took a step towards Inuyasha and tried to wrap her arms around his neck, however, he sidestepped her advances. She frowned but otherwise didn't show that it bothered her that he wouldn't let her touch him, all in due time. She wasn't typically a patient woman and didn't take no for an answer, however, she pushed her normal behavior to the back for now and put her best behavior to the front. "Everyone makes mistakes, Yashie." She continued with a smile and took another step forward.

"Yeah, mistakes, sure." Inuyasha responded sarcastically with another roll of his eyes. "Mistakes that lasted three fucking years!?"

"Would you stop throwing that in my face!?" Kikyo yelled as she balled her fists up, however, she saw Kagome making her way towards them and smiled once again. "Yashie, I'm so sorry I hurt you. Won't you please give me another chance?"

"Keh, no." Inuyasha scoffed for the third time. "I've moved on from you and I couldn't be happier."

"Then you leave me no choice." Kikyo sighed as she watched Kagome continue to walk towards them, she was close, so she threw the powder into Inuyasha's face and watched as it took effect.

Inuyasha flinched and coughed a few times but made no other reaction. He opened his eyes and smiled a small happy smile. "Kitten, when did you get here?"

Kikyo looked over Inuyasha's shoulder, smirked at seeing Kagome was just about where they were and wrapped her arms around Inuyasha's neck and pressed her lips to his. She inwardly cheered as she felt Inuyasha's arms go around her waist as he kissed her back.

Sango and Miroku were stunned for a few seconds, they couldn't believe what they were seeing. What was that powder that Kikyo had thrown in his face? And why was he kissing her now? They both shook their heads before jumping into action and trying to get Inuyasha to snap out of whatever trance he was in.

Kikyo groaned inwardly at Inuyasha's stupid friends as they yelled at him to wake up while asking what he was doing. However, before she knew it, she was being jerked away from Inuyasha as the real Kagome stepped between them, crying and clearly upset.

"What the hell!?" Inuyasha growled angrily, however, when he saw who it was, confusion hit him hard. "Kitten?" He asked as he looked back at Kikyo. He didn't have a chance to ask or say anything else as Kagome's heartbroken voice stabbed him in the chest like a dagger before twisting painfully.

"Really Inu?" Kagome sobbed and Inuyasha was shocked into silence as she shoved him, causing him to take a few steps back. "This is real fucking nice!" She cried in a shaky voice and all he wanted to do was take her in his arms and take her pain away, however, before he could, she turned around and started to run away.

He was so confused; he didn't understand what the fuck was happening. He turned and saw Kikyo standing behind him with a smug smirk on her face as she watched Kagome running away. Sango and Miroku were already running after Kagome, calling her name trying to get her to stop and talk to them.

"What the fuck did you do?" Inuyasha growled, however, he didn't give her a chance to answer as he quickly caught up to Miroku and Sango as he tried to get her to stop as well.

"Kitten! Wait! Please, stop!" He called out before watching her exit through the gate. "Fuck!" He growled as he pushed his legs to run faster while weaving through the people around him.

They made it through the gate a second later and stopped right outside of it to look around the parking lot for any sign of her. After what felt like a century, but was only a little over a minute, Inuyasha's eyes made contact with Kagome's tear-stricken eyes and started to jog her way. However, before he could reach her, she peeled out of the parking lot.

"Damn it!" Inuyasha cursed loudly as he watched Kagome leave the parking lot and down the highway. He turned around and saw Kikyo slowly walking their way and saw red. "What the fuck did you do!?" He growled menacingly.

Kikyo smiled and shrugged her shoulders making Inuyasha's growl threateningly, however, he didn't have time to play her fucking games. "Stay the fuck away from me!" He snarled before turning on his heel and running towards his truck with Sango and Miroku following him.

Kikyo watched them leave, she wasn't worried though, stage one of her multiple stage plan was in full swing. Step one was to plant the seed of doubt into Kagome's heart, and it was a complete success. However, if Inuyasha still didn't take her back, or if Kagome didn't end things between them - she would move to stage two of her plan, manipulation. Her smirk widened as she watched as Inuyasha sped out of the parking lot and after Kagome, no, she wasn't worried one bit. One way or the other, Inuyasha would be under her thumb once again.

Kagome slammed Inuyasha's front door open, sobbing as she ran quickly to the bedroom. She grabbed the duffle bag that she had stuffed under his bed to pack the few pajamas, outfits and toiletries that she had brought over for when she spent the night at his place. She couldn't believe this was happening, she thought that Inuyasha really cared for her, and thought what they had was special. She mentally scoffed as another choked sob escaped out her throat as she threw the duffle bag over her shoulder and made her way towards the front door once again.

She was about to exit the room, but Inuyasha showed up and blocked her from exiting, along with Sango and Miroku right behind him. She looked up at him, her heart breaking even more as the tears of anger and sadness ran unchecked down her face.

Inuyasha was glad that he was right in his assumption that Kagome would be at his house getting her things, he didn't want to waste precious time in choosing the wrong place and ruin any chance of making her see what really happened.

"Kitten, please-" Inuyasha began to beg Kagome to listen to him.

"Oh, don't 'Kitten, please' me!" Kagome scoffed as she sobbed as she dug her shoulder into Inuyasha's side to push him out of her way so she could walk down the hall towards the front door. "It's true Kagome." Sango spoke softly as she took a step forward and reached her hand out as if she was going to put it on Kagome's shoulder, however, just held it in the air for a few seconds before putting it back down at her side.

"Yeah, Kikyo threw this powder stuff in his face and then kissed him." Miroku added as he too took a step forward.

Inuyasha wasn't surprised with what Miroku said, they had filled him in on what happened on the way to his place, though he didn't understand completely what was going on he vowed to try and make Kagome see the truth. "I didn't pull away because whatever she threw at my face made me forget that she was even there in the first place as well as making me see you instead of her." He was afraid that he'd cease to exist if she did decide that she wanted to leave, he wouldn't force her to stay but, God, it would kill him to watch her walk away.

Kagome chuckled a humorless laugh, still looking at the floor. "Please," she whispered before releasing an angry sigh, "don't take me for a fool. I am not stupid, don't treat me like I am." Her words had hurt and venom in them, making Inuyasha's heart twist painfully and take his breath from his lungs.

"Kagome," Sango mumbled as she came to stand in front of her and looked into her eyes, "he's telling the truth, Miroku and I saw the whole thing happen."

"Sango," Kagome whispered with a sigh as tears continued to run down her face, "please, I know what I saw, you cannot change that." She said before stepping around Sango and leaving the house.

Kagome's body was on auto drive, her mind was elsewhere as she drove down the street. Her mind going back online only to see that she was parked in front of an alcohol store. With tears still flowing down her face as she stared at the store, contemplating on whether to go in and ruin her sobriety or leave and save it. However, this hurt so much, she just wanted to end the pain in whichever way she could. She turned her car off and walked into the store, going down the aisle and grabbing her drink of choice - a fifth of Grey Goose - before going down a different aisle and grabbing a bottle of grape juice and going to the checkout line, grabbing a shot glass as she paid for her items.

Once home, Kagome sat the Grey Goose bottle, juice and shot glass down on the coffee table. She sat down on the couch, turned on her tv for some kind of noise so she didn't feel alone with her thoughts, and stared at the alcohol bottle for a few minutes before reaching a shaky hand, gripped the neck of the bottle, unscrewed the cap, poured a shot, recapped the bottle and unscrewed the cap from the juice bottle. She took a deep breath before lifting up both the shot glass and the juice bottle preparing to take the shot, however, when the shot glass made contact with her lips - she let out a scream of anguish as she threw the shot glass and open juice bottle to the wall. The shot glass shattered, and the juice stained her light tan carpet, though she couldn't bring herself to care as she gave into her urges to break and destroy things that she had when she was at Inuyasha's house and seeing that this was her place and her things, she didn't care if she broke everything she laid her hands on. She stood up, grabbing the Grey Goose bottle and throwing it to the wall - watching it shatter before flipping her coffee table over as she walked to the shelves where she kept some pictures and nick-nacks on and threw everything that was on there, one by one, breaking every last item that was sat on the shelves.

"Breaking news," Kagome heard a news anchor on the tv say, stopping her actions and turning her focus on the screen, "an undercover police officer discovered a new drug that's being distributed throughout the city. Our sources say it's a drug called Phantasmagoria, and it causes whoever is affected with it to see things that are not actually there or accurate with their current surroundings. All the information that we know about the drug is that the person that's the holder of the drug has to hold the powder substance in their hand before throwing it in the face of whoever they want and then that person sees whatever they wanted them too. So, be on the lookout, this drug is very dangerous, though the effects don't last but a few seconds. Apparently, there has already been one casualty, a man in his early thirties was found dead in his apartment, his eyes full of the white glittery powder. Our resources say that they've been in contact with the deceased man's family and the family has informed the officers that the victim's wife has recently passed away, so our guess is that he was trying to see her by using Phantasmagoria, but when the effects wore off - he put more powder in his eyes. We don't know why he passed away; however, we did take the bag full of the drug for testing."

Kagome stared wide eyed at the tv screen, not believing what she was hearing. She felt so stupid for not believing Inuyasha or listening to him or Sango and Miroku when they tried to explain what happened. "They... were telling the truth." She whispered as a sob sounded from her throat. "I'm so stupid." She whispered to herself as she gripped the front of her shirt, where her heart was. She was for sure that she royally messed up any chances of still being with Inuyasha, she did something that she promised never to do, she accused him of cheating - not directly saying those words but still, she implied them. She felt her heart breaking even more as she thought about him being so mad at her that he wouldn't want anything to do with her.

"Kitten." A soft voice spoke behind her, causing her to whip her body around to face the very person that she had thought that she ruined every chance of being with him. She watched as he took in the state of her living room with sadness and worry in his eyes.

Kagome choked out another sob as she ran into Inuyasha's arms. "Inu, I-I'm so sorry!" She cried into his neck as she tightly wrapped her arms around his neck.

Inuyasha let out a relieved sigh as she wrapped his arms around her waist. "Shh, it's okay, Kitten."

He was a little choked up as well, he thought he had lost her and would never get her back. It nearly crushed his soul and suffocated him, thinking of a life without his Kitten in it. "Shh," he tried again as he ran his claws through her hair and rocked her gently from side to side, "I'm not sure what happened, but I swear I saw you standing in front of me and not Kikyo. I know it's hard to believe but please know that it's the truth. I would never lie to you or hurt you like that; you mean too much to me." He pulled away from her and cupped her cheeks with both of his hands as he looked deep in her eyes and swiped his thumbs to clear her cheeks of the tears. "Please believe me when I say that I will do everything I can to keep you by my side and make you the happiest woman in the entire world."

Kagome's heart skipped a beat as she stared right back into his eyes and saw nothing but the absolute truth shining in them. "I do believe you." She whispered before seeing his eyes flick to the side and worry flash in them. She followed his line of vision and saw that he was looking at the broken alcohol bottle as well as the silent question in his eyes when he looked back at her. "Oh, I-I was in so much pain, i-it felt as if someone was ripping my heart out and stomping it into the ground. I-I have never felt this type of pain before with any one of my previous breakups or relationship troubles. I couldn't take it, so I drove to the liquor store and got what I used to drink all the time, I just wanted to get rid of the pain. However, when the shot glass touched my lips, everything that happened on the night that I almost died flashed in my eyes and so I threw the shot glass, the grape juice and the bottle of alcohol at the wall. I-I swear, I didn't drink any of it. I wanted to, but I didn't."

As Kagome was talking, she avoided Inuyasha's eyes, she felt incredibly ashamed of herself, of her weakness, of her almost ruining her sobriety and of her overreaction and her unwillingness to wait and listen to what he had to say.

You said that Kikyo threw powder in your face, making you think that I was standing there and not Kikyo. I'm the one who should be sorry for not staying and hearing you out, I was being a baby."

"Never be sorry for showing your emotions to me, I will never discredit you for how you feel." He mumbled before a small smile twitched the corners of his lips. "I am so fucking proud of you that you didn't give in and end your sobriety over someone as stupid as me."

"I think you got that backwards, Kitten. I don't know what I would do without you." Inuyasha admitted as he wiped that last of her tears away.
