Chapter 8:

It was 5:30 am in the morning, Peter was sleeping soundly, surprisingly comfortable despite being on the floor. He would have slept longer if a certain alien didn't stop pestering him.

"Parker! Wake up!"

"Come on, can't I sleep a little longer, it's still so early!" Peter complained.

"If you want to make more web-fluid and refill your web cartridges we suggest you do it now when everyone is asleep." Venom suggests. "Now get up already!"

"Alright I'm up! I'm up! Let me just…. Huh, I don't remember grabbing a blanket." Peter said, confused on why there was a blanket on top of him.

As Peter gets up, he picks up the blanket and looks around to see where it could of came from. He then spots Ruby sleeping without a blanket, putting two and two together, he then realized that Ruby must have given him her blanket while he was asleep.

"That was nice of her, I should make it up to her later somehow." Peter thought.

"Parker!" Venom shouts, getting impatient.

"Just wait a moment, I just need to grab my stuff before I go! But first…." Peter began, placing the blanket over a sleeping Ruby, who smiles in her sleep feeling more comfortable. "There we go, now we can go." Peter said, grabbing his backpack, leaving the dorm room.

"Finally, you're extremely slow sometimes." Venom mocked.

"Yeah, not a morning person, I guess I just got to used to sleeping in late. Guess I'm going to have to put a curfew on myself, especially since I'm attending this school." Peter replied.

"We are aware. Now we know we said you should restock on web-fluid, but…."

"Let me guess, you're hungry?" Peter asked.

"Correct." Venom confirmed.

"Figured as much, but I'm also hungry so I guess we should grab some grub before I find the science lab here." Peter agreed, walking towards the cafeteria.

Once Peter arrived at the cafeteria, he grabbed a couple of sandwiches and five chocolate bars. He then puts one of the sandwiches and chocolate into the bag, while unwrapping one to eat right now.

"Hey! What about us! We're hungry!" Venom yelled.

"Wait until I get to the science lab so we can't be disturbed. We can't risk anybody noticing you." Peter responds.

"Grrr, fine! Just hurry up!" Venom demanded.

Peter internally sighs, this was going to be a long four years, wasn't it? Peter decided to forget about it and continues to walk around, trying to find the science lab.

"Um, problem." Peter told the symbiote.

"You forgot to ask for the damn directions again, didn't you?! Why do you have to get lost?! You never had this problem before!" Venom chastises.

"That's because I'm not in New York anymore! I knew my home like the back of my hand, but this place is completely new for me! Do you have any idea what that's like?!" Peter yells.

"Of course we do! We don't know what this place is either! We're angry because you don't ask for directions!" Venom shouts back.

Before Peter could retort any further, a voice from behind gets his attention, "Lost Mister Parker?"

Peter looks behind him to see Professor Ozpin walking towards him, holding his signature coffee.

"Hey Oz, and yes I'm lost. I can't find the science lab." Peter admits.

"Would you like me to show you where it is?" Ozpin asked. Peter nods, prompting Ozpin to say, "Well follow me then." Signaling Peter to follow.

"Thanks Oz, I thought I would spend the next few hours looking for the science lab." Peter tells the headmaster.

"It would appear so, now Mr. Parker, could you explain why you are up so early? Most students are asleep during this time of the day." Ozpin asked.

"Well, as you know, I need to make more web-fluid in order to swing around the city. So I thought-"

"Ahem."

"I'm sorry, the symbiote thought it would be best to do this early in the morning, when no one can disturb me while I make it." Peter finished.

"I see, so the symbiote you harbor was the one who woke you up?" Ozpin asked, Peter nodding in response. "Can the alien hear us right this moment?"

"Yes you old man." Venom responds.

"They can, and as usual Symbie is being, well you know, itself." Peter answered.

Ozpin nods, remembering the symbiote's behavior. Ozpin was slightly weary of the creature. Even if it wasn't a Grimm, the similarities between it and the Grimm were uncanny. It was hard to believe anything like that existed out there, and yet there it was, bonded to a young teenage boy from another world.

Deciding to worry about said alien later, Ozpin decided to ask, "And how are you liking Beacon so far?"

"I don't know, the first day hasn't started yet." Peter quipped, getting a slight chuckle from the headmaster. "But I will say that I have never seen anything like this before, my life has certainly gotten interesting."

"Yes, well from you said, your world doesn't suffer from the grimm like ours does. So I'm guessing most schools focus on educating future generations for normal civilian life." Ozpin guessed.

"Yep, life back home was, normal. But with my luck, that changed pretty quickly." Peter replied.

"Hm, I see." Ozpin simply said.

Things stay silent for a bit until Peter asked, "Hey Oz, why did you make me Co-leader? I'm not exactly leader material in the first place."

"And what do you mean by that?" Ozpin asked, refusing to elaborate.

"I just don't think I'm qualified to be a Co-leader at all. I didn't get any training like everyone else here." Peter explained.

"Well, you have something that every student here doesn't." Ozpin began, much to Peter's confusion. "You yourself gave me the answer to your question when we first meet and what you told Miss Rose yesterday."

"Of course, it had to be that." Venom says, knowing what Ozpin meant.

Peter on the other hand, was as dense as ever, still slightly confused and wondering what he meant.

"Here we are, the science lab, please try not to make a huge mess." Ozpin said as they arrived at their destination, breaking Peter's train of thought.

"Oh! Um, I can only promise to try, thanks Oz." Peter said heading inside.

"But before I go I just wanted to say that it was quite a bold move to use such abilities and pass them on as your semblance." Ozpin says as he turns around, "I hope your careful with such a thing. "

"Yeah, I know, but sometimes the best place too hide is in plain sight. So it seemed like quite the good idea from Symbie here." Peter responds.

"Hmm, well I'll leave you to it then, and don't forget class starts at 9 am." Ozpin says as he leaves.

"I won't!" Peter promised.

"You will." Venom assumed.

"Come on, give me some credit, I'm not that far off from the class. I'll be quick and make my web-fluid while you eat your chocolate." Peter defends, closing the door of the lab.

"Whatever, just give us the chocolate." Venom said, emerging from his back and snatching the chocolate bars from Peter's backpack as Peter was setting up his chemistry set.

"Alright calm down, you got your chocolate. Now then, let's begin." Peter said to himself looking for materials in the lab.

"This is going to get messy, isn't it."

It was a nice beautiful morning, Weiss woke up to the sight of the sunlight shining through the open window. She then slowly sits up, yawning as she stretched her harms. The rest of the morning would have been nice, if it wasn't for Ruby blowing a whistle mere inches from her, causing Weiss to stumble to the ground.

"Good morning team RWBY!" Ruby shouts, full of enthusiasm.

"What in the world is wrong with you?", Weiss chastises

"Now that your are awake, we can officially begin our first order of business." Ruby said, completely ignoring Weiss.

"Excuse me?"

"Decorating!"

"What?!"

"We still have to unpack." Blake said holding up her suitcase, which opened resulting in the contents of said suitcase to fall onto the floor. "And clean."

Weiss just stares at them, only to be knocked down again by Ruby's whistle.

"Alright! Weiss, Blake, Yang and their fearless leader Ruby have begun their first mission. Banzai!" Ruby cheered.

"Banzai!" both Yang and Blake cheered as well, with all three of them striking a pose.

Weiss just stares at the three of them in mild annoyance. Just then, she noticed that a certain male team member wasn't present. "Wait a minute, where's the unfunny comedian?"

Breaking out of her pose, Ruby then responds, "I don't know, when I woke up, I noticed that my blanket was covering me and he was gone a long with his backpack. I don't know where he is."

"He's probably just around somewhere, maybe being in a room full of girls made him nervous." Yang joked, which only made the other three slightly blush at the thought.

"Would you stop putting ideas in our heads!" Weiss chastises.

"What? I was just guessing." Yang replied.

Shaking her head out of those thoughts, Blake then says, "Let's just focus on cleaning and decorating. We can find Peter later."

"Yeah, Blake's right, come on everyone, time to begin!" Ruby agreed.

Everyone then began organizing and decorating the dorm. Yang was putting her favorite poster on the wall while Weiss placed her favorite painting on the other side of the dorm. Blake was placing books on a bookshelf, but she then flinched as she picked up her favorite book. She then looks around nervously hoping no one would spot it as she hid it. She got lucky Peter had no idea what type of book it was, so hopefully the others didn't either. Ruby was busy moving her scythe around, only to accidently cut the curtains in two as she turned around.

After everyone was finished decorating, the girls stand there admiring their work, only to see that four beds piled on top of each other, with very little room to place them.

"This isn't going to work." Weiss points out.

"It is a bit cramped." Blake agreed.

"Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff." Yang suggested, despite being reluctant to do so.

"Or…we could ditch the beds…and replace them with bunk beds!" Ruby enthusiastically shouts.

"That sounds incredibly dangerous." Weiss protests.

"And super awesome!" Yang shouts, happy with Ruby's suggestion.

"It does seem efficient." Blake says, agreeing with the two sisters.

"We should put it to a vote! Where's is that dolt?! I believe we need him here to help decide as well!" Weiss says, not wanting to go with Ruby's idea.

"Really ice queen? What makes you think Pete would agree with you? I think he would think that would be awesome." Yang responded to Weiss proclamation, irritating the heiress. "Besides the votes would outnumber you, with or without Peter voting on your side."

"Ugh, fine, let's just get this over with." Weiss sighs in frustration.

The four Huntress in training then began to assemble the bunk beds. The results of said assembly end up with one set having Ruby's bed hanging dangerously over Weiss's bed, and Yang's bed being supported with a bunch of books over Blake's bed.

Everyone, except Weiss, look at the beds, satisfied with the results. Ruby was about to call out the next objective, until she realized that something was missing. "Wait, what about Peter? He still doesn't have a place to sleep."

"That's right, he slept on the floor, we should do something for him." Blake agreed.

"Why should we? He volunteered to sleep on the floor." Weiss says, not willing to help.

"You only say that because you can't talk down at him, if anything he talks down at you." Yang said with a smirk, with Weiss looking away, embarrassed to admit that she was right. "Besides, he saved Ruby's, I can't thank him enough for that." Yang softly smiled, ruffling Ruby's hair.

Ruby giggles in response of Yang's show off affection, she then says, "Yeah and he got hurt because of me, I feel like I owe him for risking his life for me." In a sad tone, still feeling guilty.

"I believe he cares more about the well being of others than himself. He didn't hesitate to save me from falling when I got knocked down the cliff yesterday." Blake adds.

Seeing that she was losing this argument as well, Weiss than caves, "Alright, we'll figure something out. But do you all suggest? I doubt we can fit another bed in here."

Ruby then ponders for a moment, she then thinks of another great idea. "Ooo! How about a hammock! We can set it up between Weiss and Blake's bed when it's time to sleep!"

"What?!"

"Sure seems like a good idea." Blake agreed.

"Great think Rubes, I'm certain he'll appreciate it!" Yang encouraged.

"Now hold on just a second!"

"Then it's settled, we're getting him a hammock!" Ruby cheered.

Weiss just stands there dumbfounded, today was just not her day.

The other three ten set up a hammock that could be assembled for the night and put away during the day.

Once they finished, Ruby then cheered, "Alright! With that complete, our second order of business is….. classes." Ruby finished, losing all of her enthusiasm. "Now, we have a few classes together, at 9 we've got to be-"

"What?! Did you say 9'o clock!"

"Um….."

"It's 8:55 you dunce!" Weiss shouts, immediately running towards class.

The other three, including team JNPR would had peeked out their room to see all the commotion, watch as Weiss runs off.

"Uh… to class!" Ruby shouts, running as well, with Yang and Blake following her.

"Class?" Jaune asked, before he and his team collapse onto the ground from standing on top of each other. "We're going to be late!" Jaune panics as he ran with off with his team behind him.

As they run, they are spotted by Ozpin and Glynda, who watch them run by as Ozpin takes a sip of his coffee.

Just then they hear a voice shout from behind them, "Excuse me, coming through!" They turn around to see Peter running at inhuman speed catching up with the rest of his classmates.

Glynda sighs, rubbing the sides of her nose. Ozpin slightly chuckles, doing his best to hide it from Glynda.

Back with Peter, he had not only caught up to the others, but also outran them, much to the surprise of everyone. With the only thing in his mind going, "I'm late, I'm late I'm late, I'm late!", with the symbiote just responding, "We told you so."

The others just watch in awe, as they continued to run, they would ask him questions, but they all decided to get to class as soon as they could before they get themselves into trouble .

/

"Monsters. Demons. Prowlers of the night." Professor Port began, "Yes, creatures of grimm have many names. But I, merely refer to them as pray." He finished, laughing a bit.

"We like the way he thinks." Venom says, agreeing with such a sentiment.

"You consider everything as prey." Peter jabbed.

Everyone was silent, not saying a word at all.

"Uh, and you shall too upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe heavens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces." Professor Port continues.

"Huh, kind of like you, back when you tried to destroy me." Peter joked.

"Don't you dare compare us to those mindless knock-offs! They do not understand the art of breaking someone not just physically, but mentally too." Venom retorts.

"And yet, I'm still standing." Peter mocked, irritating the symbiote.

"And that's where we come in…. Huntsmen, Huntresses." The Professor Port began, winking at Yang, which made her uncomfortable.

"Did…. Did he just hit on Yang?" Peter asked in confusion.

"Look at that she can also quip it out and can't take it." Venom mocked.

"Was that an insult to me or Yang?"

"Yes."

"Individuals who have sworn to protect those who can not protect themselves. From what you ask?* Professor Port asked the class.

"From symbiotes/from meta-humans." Both Peter and the symbiote mockingly answered internally.

"Why, the very world!"

A random student cheered, which got him looks from everyone else, resulting him in sitting back down.

"That is what you are training to become, but first, a story. A tale of a young, handsome man, me!"

Professor Port began telling his life story, which started to bore everyone in the class, even Weiss was having trouble paying attention.

"I think I'd rather be dead than listen to this." Peter said, spacing out in order to talk with the symbiote.

"We know we said that we like the way he thinks, but he talks too much. We think we would rather listen to you all day instead." Venom said, wishing it couldn't hear this.

Weiss was not having a great time at the moment, she had hoped this class would be educational, but instead they got a boring tale from a man in his prime. Looking around, Weiss spotted Ruby scribbling down on her notebook. Weiss was surprised that Ruby was taking notes, only to be disappointed to see Ruby made a crude drawing of the professor. Ruby showed her drawing to Yang, which got her to laugh from seeing it.

Weiss was getting more and more frustrated at these antics. Shen then decided to look at Peter, only to see him spaced out, not even paying attention to anything at all.

Reaching her limit, Weiss grabbed her binder and attempted to smack Peter on the side of his head to snap him out of it. But just before she could hit him, her hand was grabbed by a black tendril sprouting from his back, stopping her from doing so. This slightly unsettled Weiss, due to the fact the tendril felt a bit gooey.

"Oh god this feels so gross!" Weiss thought, freaking out on the inside.

"We. Do. Not. Like. Her."

Before Peter could respond to this action, or the symbiote's statement, Professor Port then calls out, "Looks like we have a volunteer!" seeing the tendril on his back as an equivalent of a hand being raised.

"Wait what?" Peter said in confusion.

"Mr. Parker, please step forward, and face your opponent."

"Okay?" Peter said, getting up and walking down towards the middle of the room.

As Peter is in position, he stretches a bit, preparing to face whatever Professor Port as in store for him.

"Alright, so who am I fighting? I hope it's not Yang, she'd beat me to a pulp." Peter quipped, getting a laugh from his team, except Weiss.

"No she wouldn't."

"Flame aura."

"Damnit! "

"You will be fighting a Boarbatusk." Professor Port responds, with the Grimm growling inside the cage.

"Huh, has that always been there?"

"When your ready." The Professor said raising his axe, preparing to break the lock.

"Gooo Peter!" Yang cheered.

Fight well." Blake says, waving a small hand flag with the team name engraved on it.

"Yeah! Represent Team RWBY!" Ruby cheered on the honorary member and co-eader.

"Ruby! Let him focus!" Weiss scolds, still slightly disgusted on how the tendril felt.

Ruby looks down, feeling dejected. Seeing this, Peter than shouts, "Don't worry Rubes! The cheering actually helps me focus!" which got Ruby to feel better and continue cheering, which also got Weiss toe stare at him in anger.

"We really, don't like her." Venom says once again.

"Alright! Let the match….begin!" Professor Port shouts, swinging his axe on the lock, setting the Boarbatusk free.

Once free, the large pig like Grimm charges at Peter, seeking to harm him.

In response, Peter just jumps over the grimm, dodging the attack. "So, your supposed to be what? A pig? Do you taste the same?" Peter quipped.

"Actually, now we want to eat it. Unfortunately, they disintegrate." Venom says, slightly disappointed.

"To be honest, same." Peter agreed.

When the Boarbatusk stops, it turn around to see Peter taunt the Grimm as he wiggled his body back and forth. "Dun dun da dun, Dun dun da dun, dada dunnnn." Peter sang.

"What are you singing?" Venom asked.

"Apparently my theme song." Peter responds nonchalantly.

"There is no way that exists. You made that up. Venom says, not believing it's host.

"I'm not kidding, apparently I had a few fans back on Earth who made one about me. Heck I only found out about it after I heard the big guy with Shocker called Ox humming it." Peter responds.

"We will fact check your memories and…… oh god damnit it actually exists." Venom confirmed.

Everyone began laughing at Peter's antics, except for Weiss who just yells, "What are you doing?! Watch your surroundings."

"Lighten up ice queen, all work and no play makes a Schnee a dull girl" Peter quipped.

Ruby giggled at Peter's joke, which made Weiss furious. Ruby then saw the Boarbatusk charge at Peter again from behind, she then screamed "Peter behind you!"

Despite everyone thinking Peter was in trouble, Peter just stays calm, and uses his back tendrils to lift himself up, dodging the Grimm. "Sorry little piggy, but I'm not just going to let you hit me." Peter says as he lowers himself back to the ground.

The Boarbatusk continues to charge at Peter, but Peter just dodges every attack, occasionally jumping over and kicking it to the side.

Frustrated at the failure of it's attacks, the large grimm then rolls itself in a ball, and starts to spin rapidly in Peter's direction.

Peter than puts his arms in front of him, worrying the others, thinking he might get hurt. But just before the Grimm could hit him, tendrils sprouts from his arms, forming a shield. The symbiote shield blocks the attack, leaving it open for Peter to deliver a strong kick onto it's head, stunning the creature.

As it's stunned, Peter then uses his back tendrils to grab, and lift the Boarbatusk in the air, slowly squeezing it to death.

"Well, guess this is game over bud, good try though." Peter quipped.

Everyone watches as the tendrils squeeze the Grimm, killing it. This surprised everyone on how easily and quickly Peter dealt with it.

Blake was shocked at the display just like everyone else, however she wasn't sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but seconds before the Boarbatusk died, it looked…scared? She gets even more curious on what Peter was capable of and what type of semblance he has.

"Bravo! Bravo! It appears are indeed in the presence of a true Huntsmen in training!" Port congratulated, something Weiss wasn't happy about.

"I'm afraid that is all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and stay vigilant. Class dismissed." Professor Port says, signaling the students for them to leave.

"That was satisfying, we want to see more of these things destroyed." Venom says, happy to have watched the Grimm die.

"Well as long as it's not people." Peter replied.

"That was awesome!" Yang shouts as her and Blake walk up to him. "You beat that thing like it was nothing!"

"Thanks, I hope it was entertaining for you guys, I wanted to make this a bit more fun." Peter replied.

"Well, you did make things more, interesting to say at least." Blake tells him, "But can you try to be more careful, Ruby gets worried about you getting injured. I think she feels guilty about that new scar on your arm." Blake states, pointing at his right arm.

"Oh, I see, well I'll try but I sort of get carried away sometimes." Peter sheepishly replied.

"That was obvious." Blake says.

Before anyone could say anything else, they hear Ruby call out to Weiss as she began walking out.

"Weiss!"

"What?!"

"What's wrong with you?' Ruby asked.

"What's wrong with me?! What's wrong with you! You're supposed to be a leader and all you've been so far is a nuisance!" Weiss shouts.

"What did I do?!"

"That's just it! You've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest you acted like a child and you only continued to do so!" Weiss responds.

"And you!" She points at Peter, "I have no idea why Ozpin kept you in and made you Co-leader, you don't take anything seriously! You don't even take care of yourself! Did you even get that wound treated, because if you did you wouldn't have scar on your arm!"

"Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about working together? I thought you believed in acting as a team." Ruby asked.

"Not a team lead by you, both of you. I've studied and trained, and quite frankly, I deserve better." Weiss says, turning around. "Ozpin made a mistake. Two mistakes."

Ruby looks dejectedly on the floor, sad from what Weiss just said. She then feels a hand on her shoulder, which belonged to Peter.

"Don't listen to her Ruby, she probably didn't mean it." Peter said, trying to comfort her.

Ruby sighs, as she asks, "Do you think she's right? Did Ozpin made mistake?"

Peter thinks before a moment, before answering, "Nah."

"Huh?"

"The way I see it, he made the correct choice." Peter says. Ruby looks at him, still confused. "Let me elaborate. Yang seems to be quick to anger from what I see, no offense."

Yang just responds with a smirk on her face, basically letting that slide.

"Which can result in rash decision making. Blake is quiet most of the time, so there isn't much communication. And Weiss, is Weiss." Peter said, getting a giggle from Ruby.

"You on the other hand, are calm, caring, and understanding. Sure you may be a bit younger then the rest of us and not as skilled like others, but frankly, you have both the enthusiasm to keep everyone's spirits up, and the room to improve and grow up to be an amazing leader." Peter says, listing out good traits in the silver eyed girl.

"Out of the four of you, you are the best choice Ozpin could have chosen for leader." Peter says.

When he looks at Ruby, he sees her crying, assuming he said something wrong, he asked, "Are you okay? Did I say someth- oof!"

But it turns out Ruby was crying tears of joy, and hugged Peter, happy to hear his explanation.

"Thank you."

"No problem red riding hood." Peter quipped, getting a giggle out of Ruby.

Once she lets go, she then asks, "But what about you? What do you think Ozpin made you Co-leader for?"

"Honestly, I don't know why. I asked him earlier, but he was just vague about. Too be honest, I've made a lot of mistakes that would render me being a leader as a bad idea. Weiss is probably right about that." Peter answered.

"You are really, really, freaking dense." Venom says, seeing how stupid Peter was being.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that already. Just let me finish talking to Ruby here." Peter retorts.

Ruby just looks sadly at Peter, she doesn't want to believe that Weiss was right about Peter. If anything she thinks Peter should have been leader of a team.

Before she could say anything else Peter than says, "I hope that helped, now then, I believe a certain heiress needs talking too. If she is going to be your partner, she needs to understand that she can't behave like that. If anything, she's acting like a child." Peter says, getting a laugh out of the three girls, and the symbiote.

"HA, if you call her that when you talk to her, I will ask for less chocolate." Venom chuckles.

Peter then began to walk away, but before he leaves, he then turn around and says, "And don't forget what I told you back in the forest alright? That advice is worth a lot to me, and I hope you can learn from it as much as I did."

Once Peter left, Yang and Blake then approached Ruby, in awe at Peter's speech.

"Wow, I think it's kind of obvious why he's Co-leader." Yang whistles, impressed and grateful for Peter cheering up her sister.

"He really is something else." Blake says, still surprised on who Peter was as a person. She then turns to Ruby and asks, "By the way, what was that advice that he told you?" Curious on what it could be.

"Oh! He told me that his Uncle said that with great power, comes great responsibility! I only heard that once, and yet I want to live up to those words to be the best Huntress I can be!" Ruby responds, still feeling inspired from what Peter told her yesterday.

"Huh, I didn't think he would pass on something like that. Guess there's more to him than meets the eye, right Blake? Blake?" Yang says, seeing her Partner freeze for a moment.

"Those words sound familiar, where have I heard something like that before?" Blake thought, trying to remember.

"Blake? You there? Hello." Yang says, snapping her back into reality.

"Oh! I'm sorry, it's just that I never expected something like that from Peter. I guess I just got lost in thought." Blake replies.

"Ok then, I guess we go back to our dorm then. We should let Peter sort this out." Yang suggests, as she walks back to the dorms, with Ruby following behind.

"Ok then." Blake simply responds following them, as she does she can't help but wonder, "I know I heard those words before, I'll figure it out later."

/

Weiss was not pleased from today's events, she felt like she should have been leader. But not only did Ruby become leader instead, but the annoying comedian not only became the honorary fifth member of the team, but Co-leader as well.

"It's not fair! Why are those two in charge of the team! That clown should not have made it in Beacon first place! What does Ozpin see in him?!" she thought.

"Hey Weiss, wait a sec!" Peter shouts from behind.

Speaking of the clown, there he was approaching her, no doubt here to make more idiotic jokes.

"What do you want?" Weiss asked in annoyance.

"I want to know why you treated Ruby like that, all she has ever done is be your friend and teammate." Peter responded.

"Because she doesn't deserve to be leader! I worked hard to get here, I should have been leader of Team RWBY!" Weiss answered.

"And why do you think she doesn't deserve to be leader?" Peter further asked.

"Because she's a child! She's immature, reckless, and unruly! She doesn't understand what a leader should be, qualities that I understand!" Weiss explained.

"Hm, well Ruby is a bit childish, your not wrong about that…" Peter began, which got a smirk from Weiss thinking she finally got him to see sense. "But no, you don't understand what a leader should be. Quite frankly, your poor attitude doesn't help either at all."

"How dare you!" Weiss shouts, getting Peter to raise an eyebrow, signaling her that she's just proving his point.

"Look Weiss, I don't know much about you or your family, but from what I can put together, I see someone who has had everything handed to you on a silver platter. You were practically given everything to you when you asked for it."

"That's not…. Entirely true…. Ok maybe a little." Weiss admits, looking away.

"Look, I'm not saying you didn't work hard, I can tell from your skill that you did. What I'm trying to say is that you don't know how to work well with others, something you may have not had a chance to do." Peter correctly assumed, surprising Weiss.

"So what, being able to cooperate and make friends with people like it's all fun and games make you a good leader?" Weiss asked, not getting Peter's point.

Peter sighs, he than says, "Weiss, look at me." Despite not wanting to do so, she complies. When she does, she doesn't see the babbling idiot that constantly made jokes. What she see's is his warm, hazel eyes and soft smile, someone who cares deeply for those around him.

"Ruby may not be smart and as skilled as you, but she knows how to talk with others and her child like innocence helps her to understand everyone she meets. Since it is detrimental in the real world to think that way, it's your job as her partner to help her learn and have her back when she needs it. Both of you can learn from one another and become great friends." Peter finished.

Weiss was just surprised at this, she expected him to act all angry like the two days before. But instead, he talked to her in a way that actually got her to listen and understand what he was trying to prove.

"So do you get what I'm trying to say?" Peter asked. "Be her partner, her friend."

"Yes, I believe I get what your saying." She said, actually giving a genuine small.

"That's good, I guess I'll leave you be then. Oh, and tell the others I'll be back late. I have to look for new clothes. My shirt and sweater got kind of ruined from, you know, a scorpion." Peter quipped.

"I will, just don't be late. I won't be responsible for your tardiness." Weiss smirked.

"Don't worry, I'll accept full responsibility. It's my motto." Peter replied as he started to leave.

"And since when were you ever responsible." Weiss surprisingly quipped.

"Ask Ruby! Later snow princess!" He shouted, leaving out of view.

Weiss just rolls her eyes, still slightly annoyed, but she just smiled at the nickname since it felt more genuine than ice queen.

"Hello Miss Schnee I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Weiss heard a voice call out.

She turns to see Ozpin walking down the hallway, sipping from his coffee mug.

"Oh! No Professor Ozpin, I just finished talking with the comedi- I mean Peter!" Weiss quickly responded, trying to act courteously.

"I can tell, it seems you both had a meaningful conversation." Ozpin replied.

"Yes we did." Weiss answered, still having a small smile on her face. She than says, "Professor Ozpin, why did you make him Co-leader?"

"I believe you already know the answer to that." Ozpin vaguely replied. "You should do what Mister Parker says, and ask Ruby herself about his motto." He says as he left.

Weiss just stands there, slightly confused on what Ozpin was getting at, did Peter actually have a motto? She decided she would ask Ruby later, once she apologized for her behavior.

"You are one strange guy Parker."

"Yee haw!"

Spider-Man was swinging through the City of Vale, with his newly refilled web shooters. He made sure to make enough to last him for another few months. While had more access to materials to make web-fluid, he still preferred to ration supplies, making sure not to take more than he needs.

As he swung around, the symbiote then asks, "So what now? What do you plan to do?"

"Well, like I told Weiss, I got to buy new clothes, I think my regular clothes have been worn out by now." Spider-man replied.

"Hmph, we don't know why you bothered to talk with her, she is way too much of a spoiled brat to be around with. She's too loud." Venom comments, remembering the conversation Peter had with Weiss.

"Exactly why I had to talk with to her. She had to realize the way she was acting was wrong. Hopefully I got through to her so she and Ruby can talk things out." Peter hoped.

"Most likely, she didn't seem angry after you finished speaking too her. Looks like you may have infected someone else with your conscience." Venom assumed.

"You make it sound like a bad thing." Peter replied.

"It probably is." Venom mocked, giving Spider-Man a deadpan expression on his face. "Anyways, are you going to buy those clothes first or are you going to find any criminal activity?"

"Which ever comes first." Peter simply replied, and just like that, a couple of white vans sped down the road.

Said white vans continued to speed, ignoring any safety laws and almost running over pedestrians.

"We believe that answers our question, Parker." Venom points out.

"Oh great, reckless drivers. Alright time to stop them before anyone gets hurt." Spider-man says, swinging after the vans.

Spider-Man quickly caught up to one, and when he looked at who was driving, it turned out to be members of the White Fang.

"Hurry up! We don't want the cops or Spider-Man to catch up to us!" one of the goons yells.

"Don't worry, they won't catch us, we're going to escape Scott free!" the other one replied.

Suddenly they hear a knock on the driver's side of the window. When they look, they see Spider-Man poking his head from the side, looking at them.

"Yeah, too late for an escape guys, if you all turn yourselves in then maybe the police could cut you guys a deal." Spider-man quipped.

In response, the one in the passenger seat pulled out his weapon and began opening fire upon the web-head. Spider-Man moves out the way and gets on top of the van. His spider-sense then alerted him to move to the side, avoiding a shot from underneath.

"Hey I'm crawling here! Mind where you're shooting your gun!" Spider-Man said in an exaggerated queens accent.

The driver then pulled down the window, leaning out to fire his own weapon at Spider-Man. Spider-Man then took advantage of this by jumping off the van, and shooting a web-line so he could propel himself at the driver. This results in Spider-Man knocking both goons out of the van, he then shoots a bunch of webs to cushion there fall and trap them for the police to apprehend.

Spider-Man then uses his strength to stop the now driverless van from crashing. He pushes against it, completely putting it to a stop as it cause him to skid a few feet back.

"One down, one more to go." Spider-man says as he swings after the other van.

"Good job, you didn't cause any collateral damage." Venom joked.

"I'll just take that as a compliment. Now I got to hurry, can't let them escape." Spider-man replied.

Spider-Man quickly swung away, after a few moments he quickly spotted the last van and chased after it. Wasting no time, he shot a web-line onto the van, and pulled with enough strength to stop it.

Confused, the two White Fang goons look back to see Spider-Man right behind them. They began to open fire, forcing Spider-Man to let go and dodge the incoming fire. The web-head then had to continue chasing the van again and come up with a new plan.

"Hey Symbie, got any ideas?" Spider-Man asked.

"Try hurling an object at the wheels, it could cause them to lose control and begin to crash." Venom suggests, ignoring the name Spider-Man kept calling him.

"Worth a shot, but what could I throw at them? Oh! I got it!" Spider-Man says, spotting the lid of a trash can nearby.

Spider-Man snatches the lid as he swung by, and prepares to throw it. He waits until he gets close enough to the van, and then he hurls the lid with a large amount of strength at the front wheel of the vehicle, causing it to pop and keep it from rolling forward.

This causes the van to move uncontrollably until it flips and began to soar through the air. The goons scream in fear, thinking they will crash. But instead of crashing, Spider-man just shoots out webs to make a larger web, catching the van mid-air.

The goons then try to get out, but are web into their chairs by Spider-Man, who approaches them as says, "Sorry guys, but your not going anywhere until the police get you down."

"You traitor! You could be helping us, not the humans!" one of the goons shouts.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that before. Now then, I want to know where Torchwick is hiding, do you guys know where?" Spider-Man asked.

"Like hell we know! That human scum just told us to get out the city! Thanks to your meddling, the White fangs done!" the other one yelled.

"How do I know you guys are telling the truth?" Spider-man asked in a more serious voice.

"Look at us, there's barely any of us left! Does it look like we can do anything else in Vale! All we can do is pack up and leave!" the first goon replied.

"Hmm, fine, I'll take your word for it." Spider-Man says as he prepared to leave, "Have fun meeting the rest of your friends in jail, say hi to them for me!" he quipped, getting them to growl at him in response.

"They have to be lying, we highly doubt they just gave up." Venom states.

"Yup, probably trying to let my guard down, exactly how Gobby did by framing Harry and making me think he was truly gone." Spider-Man began, "They are probably preparing something to take me down once and for all. I got to stay alert."

"Finally using your head for once." Venom mocked, "Now what will you do? We doubt we'll find anymore White Fang criminals out there right now."

"For now, I should get new clothes and then go on patrol for any regular crime. Guess I'm back to fighting super dangerous criminals now." Spider-Man thought.

"Are you referring to that mysterious woman with the ability to use fire?" Venom asked.

"Yeah, she was the first one to actually land a hit on us on Remnant. And since she controls fire, it seems like we both may be at a disadvantage." Spider-man says, fully acknowledging the symbiote's weakness.

"Gr, we hate to admit it, but you're right. Who ever that women was working with Torchwick could be trouble for us. Tread carefully Parker." Venom warned, angry with the fact that there was a potential threat to it and it's host.

"I will, I won't make the same mistake like before, I promise." Spider-man complied.

"Speaking of promises, once you are done with your tasks, you promised us a hunting trip in the forest." Venom reminds Spider-man.

"Don't worry, we're still going. We are most definitely getting back to Beacon a bit late, aren't we?" Spider-man asks rhetorically.

"Oh definitely, we want to enjoy ripping those knock-offs to pieces." Venom confirmed.

Spider-Man just sighs before letting out a slight chuckle. He then swings off to the nearest thrift store, changing back into his civilian identity, and went inside to buy any clothes that were in good condition. The symbiote would rant occasionally because it found this errand as a waste of time, annoying Peter.

Peter would just endure the constant nagging and buy the clothing he chose. He would then change back into Spider-Man, and do one last patrol. He would occasionally encounter a regular thing or car thief, and web them up for the police.

After a little while, the symbiote then asks, "Are you done? We are getting restless for some action."

"Yes, I'm done with patrol, so we are going grim hunting. Now then…" Spider-Man began, "I am going to let you take control but you must stay in suit form, no monster form, deal?"

"Deal." Venom responds, forming around Spider-Man as the disappear into the forest undetected.

"Ah, feels good to be free. Now then, let the fun begin." Venom says, in an echo version of Spider-Man's voice.

"Just don't get to carried away."

"No promises."

"Ugh, we are going to be here for a while." Spider-Man sighed.

It was now very late at night, Weiss had just walked in the dorm to see everyone sleeping soundly. She then walks over to see Ruby had fallen asleep studying for class her classes, slightly surprising her.

Weiss taps Ruby on the shoulder, waking her up. In response Ruby shouts, "Weiss! I was studying and then I fell asleep. I'm sorry!"

"How do you take your coffee?" Weiss asked, covering Ruby's mouth as she spots a empty coffee mug.

"I- I don't.."

"Answer the question!"

"Uh, cream and five sugars!"

"Don't move." Weiss commanded.

Weiss then proceeded to make a cup of coffee for Ruby and hand it to her.

"Um, thanks Weiss." Ruby says, accepting the mug filled with sugary caffeine.

"Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader." Weiss began, "Just know, that I am going to be the best teammate you will ever have."

"Thank you Weiss." Ruby responds with a smile.

"Your welcome, but you can thank Peter, he and I… talked it out earlier. He helped me see some sense earlier." Weiss says, still remembering his words from earlier.

"Oh, guess I owe him again." Ruby joked, she then realized that he wasn't here so she asked, "Speaking of Peter, do you know where he is? We haven't seen him all day."

Weiss sighs, seeing that he was predictably later, "He said he had to buy new clothes since his old wear isn't in good condition anymore. I don't know why he is taking so long."

"What do you think he's doing out so late?" Ruby asked.

"Hm, wait a minute, I remember Pyrrha mentioned him being the photographer that takes pictures of Spider-Man. Maybe that's what he is doing." Weiss responds, she was still surprised that Peter of all people could even get a photo of the vigilante.

"Wait, he takes pictures of Spider-Man! Why didn't he tell me!" Ruby shouts, walking the others up.

"What the heck why are you screaming Ruby!" Yang says, not happy from being woken up.

"And what this about Peter being Spider-Man's photographer?" Blake asked, more intrigued than annoyed.

"Peter takes photos of Spider-Man and he didn't tell us!" Ruby pouted.

"He did say he wanted people to know him for who he is, not what he does." Weiss explained.

"That seems understandable." Blake agreed.

"I don't understand, I would brag about something like that. But I think you are being a bit hypocritical Rubes." Yang teased.

"I don't know what you mean" Ruby says nervously.

"Oh really then, then why don't you show them the autograph Spider-Man wrote on your notebook then." Yang further teased.

Ruby freezes in embarrassment as Weiss and Blake slowly look at Ruby. In an instant, Weiss snatched Ruby's notebook and flipped through it, much to Ruby's horror.

Weiss than lands on the first page of Ruby's notebook, it reads:

To Ruby Rose, future Huntress in training, good luck and stay sharp.

From your friendly neighborhood, Spectacular Spider-Man.

Weiss just looks at Ruby, with a frozen dumbfounded expression. She then asks, "When?!"

"I- it was the same day I got into Beacon, it was after we fought Roman Torchwick. But he got away from the help of a lady with some sort of fire semblance." Ruby answered.

Weiss just stood there, she just couldn't believe how incredibly lucky Ruby was to have something like that. From what she read, Spider-Man was a very hard individual to find, only appearing to save anyone in danger

"What's wrong Ice queen? Are you jealous or something?" Yang teased.

"N-No! I'm just shocked that Ruby managed to get something like that from him." Weiss somewhat lied, she was jealous.

Curious, Blake then asked, "What are your thoughts on Spider-Man? You seem to be interested in him."

"Well, he did save my life when the SDC building was set on fire by those White Fang criminals, I may not have survived if it wasn't for him. I just wish I could thank him one day, despite how annoying his joking was." Weiss replied.

"Oh wow, I didn't know, Weiss." Yang began saying sincerely. "I guess you want to give him a thank you kiss." She then teased, resulting in everyone getting a blush on her face.

Weiss, with the biggest blush on her face then yells, "Would you stop with this nonsense you dolt!"

"Alright, I'll stop, I just find your reaction extremely funny." Yang says, getting a deadpanned expression from Weiss.

"I believe we should get some sleep, by the way, where's Peter?" Blake asked curiously.

At that moment, they hear a knock on the door, and a voice then calls out, "Hey, anybody still awake? Can I come I?"

Weiss walks towards the door and opens it, revealing it to be Peter, all exhausted and carrying a bag full of new clothes.

"Sorry I'm late, I may or may not have gotten lost." Peter joked.

"Hmph, I knew you would be late, but at least you have the courtesy to knock." Weiss jabbed turning back around.

"Nice to see you too Ice queen." Peter quipped, Weiss just breathes in and out, choosing to ignore that nickname.

"So Pete, been busy taking pictures of Spider-Man?" Yang asked.

"How did you kn-, never mind I'm going to guess you guys read the bottom of the article or Pyrrha told you. And yes, I took some photos and sold them to VNN, it's how I pay my bills."

"Why didn't you tell us??" Ruby pouted, unhappy with Peter keeping that a secret from her.

"Says the one with a autograph of the guy." Weiss jabbed.

"Hey!"

Peter chuckles, happy to see both Weiss and Ruby on better terms than before. He then says, "Anyways, I do take pics of the guy, but I prefer to be known for who I am, not what I do."

"Making unnecessary jokes and getting on Weiss's nerves." Blake mocked.

"Hey!"

"For the record, I am hilarious, you guys just don't know what good humor is." Peter responds.

"Personally, I prefer puns, but I can teach you a thing or two if you want." Yang suggested.

"Nah, I got natural talent I can do just fine with my quips. I am the quip master after all." Peter responds, getting an eye roll from Weiss and a few chuckles from the others. "Anyways, I should probably find another dorm to sleep, the floor yesterday was killing my back. I just wanted to wish you guys goodnight."

Before Peter could leave, Ruby calls out, "Wait! We got something for you to sleep in look!" Ruby says.

Peter looks at what Ruby was talking about and noticed a hammock set up between Weiss's and Blake's bed.

"Ta da! What do you think? We made you this hammock for you to sleep in!" Ruby asked, hoping Peter would like it.

"Wow, ignoring how dangerously those beds are assembled.." Peter began, getting a Hmph of agreement from Weiss, "..this looks pretty comfy. Thanks Ruby." Peter said with a smile.

"Your welcome, to be honest I felt like I owe you for saving me yesterday, and for cheering me up today." Ruby sheepishly responds.

"Ruby, you don't owe me anything, I feel like I owe you guys for having me in your team. To be honest I got extremely lucky Oz decided to keep me in." Peter tells Ruby.

"Modest much Pete? You need to take some credit for yourself. Besides I have to agree with Ruby, you her life, I can't be more grateful you know." Yang added.

"Yang is right Peter, you should accept credit when credits due." Blake agreed.

"Please stop, I can't handle all this gratitude." Peter says, starting to feel embarrassed.

"Ha!"

"Don't you dare say it again!"

"Ok that's enough you dolt's, let Parker here change for the night." Weiss says, starting to get tired of this late night conversation.

Yang shrugs and goes back to sleep, Blake soon doing so as well. Peter walks towards the bathroom, preparing to change into some decent clothes for sleeping.

With Peter in the bathroom, Weiss then asks Ruby, "Say Ruby, did Peter give you any special advice recently?", thinking Peter wouldn't hear them, he did.

"Oh! Yeah! He told me yesterday after he saved me from that Death Stalker that with great power, comes great responsibility." Ruby replied.

"Huh, I didn't think Peter would actually say something like that. When and where would he learn something like that?" Weiss wondered.

"Well, when he told me, he said that his Uncle was the one who told him. Maybe we could ask him about that later." Ruby suggests.

"Hm, maybe. But we should sleep, we still have a busy day tomorrow remember? So once you are done studying, it's off to bed for the both of us, after I change as well." Weiss instructed.

Ruby nods, deciding to finish studying, while Weiss grabs her pajamas and waits for Peter to finish.

Meanwhile, as Peter was changing, the symbiote then asks, "Do you see now why the old man made you Co-leader?"

"I think so, but still, I'm not someone who should fill such a role. It should be someone who wouldn't make any huge mistakes, like Weiss or Blake." Peter responds.

"Your not wrong, you make a lot of mistakes." Venom began, "But, you have learned a lot from those mistakes. It does slightly pain us to say it, but you have improved, Spider-man."

Peter just stood there in silence, this was a genuine conversation from the symbiote. Deciding to accept this praise, he then says, "Thanks Venom."

The symbiote just grunts, it was a bit surprised by Peter calling it by it's name. A name that originally meant poison to both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. The symbiote then says, "Don't mention it, and we mean not to anyone."

"I won't."

Once Peter was done, he exited out to see Weiss waiting for a chance to change. Weiss then sees Peter in a white T-shirt, covering his scars that were visible from his tank-top yesterday, and brown sweatpants.

"Took you long enough." Weiss simply says, moving past Peter. She tried her best to hide her blush remembering his toned arms from yesterday.

"Wait? Why am I just noticing that now?!" Weiss thought.

Peter then slips into his new hammock, getting comfortable so he can sleep. He then then looks at Ruby, who had finished studying and began to cover herself with her blanket.

"Night Rubes, thanks for the hammock." Peter says with a smile.

"Goodnight Peter, and thank you again." Ruby responded, getting a two finger salute from Peter.

"Well, things are going well so far. I just hope I get to enjoy the peace while it lasts. Knowing my luck, things will get hectic soon." Peter thought.

"You are correct, there will always be danger lurking around the corner. But rest, we have a very long life ahead of us." Venom ordered.

Peter complies and goes to sleep. Despite how much has changed the last two months, some things don't change no matter which world he resides in. If there's one thing that remains the same, it's that he is the one and only Spider-man.

Roman was waiting for new orders from the woman in red to arrive. The last thing she ordered him to do is get those animals from the White Fang to evacuate so the arachnid pest lowers his guard down so he would be easier to take out.

Just then, his scroll starts to ring, the contact calling being the woman in red. He answers the call and replies, "Hello?"

"Hello Torchwick, I assume you did what I as"

"Yes, I got those animals to leave as if they were fleeing the city. Although some did get caught by the pest either way."

"Well, that doesn't matter, the main goal was to make him think we gave up and left. This will make him grow careless and sloppy, giving us the chance to catch him at his worst."

"And what do we have in order to take the web-head out?"

"One of my associates gave me two separate things designed to kill the bug. Let's just say the spider will have a hard time with toxins soon."

"Alright, and I assume you want me and Neo to get ready?"

"Yes, I'll be there soon enough, we will rid ourselves from this nuisance once and for all."

Roman smiled, finally they will kill the vigilante and soon things will get back on track.

"Alright, see you soon, Cinder."
