Sophie hesitated for a second, then pushed the screen and let Mr Forkle's face appear with a flash.

"Sophie!" He exclaimed, clearly panicked. "Come to Alluveterre immediately!" Sophie had never seen him this upset. "What is i-" Before she could finish her question, Mr Forkle had disconnected the call. Sophie raced into the pastures and found Grady and Edaline both standing at the alicorn enclosure with a puzzled expression, though that changed once they saw her sprinting towards them. "Sophie? What's wrong?" Edaline called out, running over to her daughter. "Mr Forkle called me in a panic, insisting I come to Alluveterre!" Sophie cried, legs shaky with fear and anger and sadness. Edaline hugged her daughter, turning to Grady. "Call Alden and Juline. Ask if they know anything, or if any of Sophie's friends are missing!" She said shakily. Grady nodded, and raced towards the house. "Come on, Sophie. We're going to get through this," said Edaline, standing and helping Sophie wobble towards the cliffs. They held each other as they leaped off, and Sophie concentrated through blurry eyes on the glittering underground caves. When they arrived, Alluveterre was up in flames. Mr Forkle sprinted over to them as gnomes dug tunnels to escape the blaze. Burning yellow Everblaze consumed the two treehouses, and Sophie watched as the bridge fell into the river in a crumbling pile of ash.

"What happened? Is everyone out? What can I do?" Sophie sobbed, collapsing to her knees as Mr Forkle came to her. "Fintan managed to escape his cell and leap here to destroy the hideout. We're not sure-" Sophie sucked in a smoke-filled gasp, because she did know how the Neverseeen knew. Something she should have figured out much earlier. "Tam," she mumbled, and Edaline and Mr Forkle gasped. "Gethen must have searched his memories," Sophie realized, and Mr Forkle turned pale. "That means they know… about everything," he said in shock. Edaline took charge then, making them all focus back on the burning hideout. "We can figure that out later! Right now, we need to focus on this!" She said, helping Sophie back to trembling feet. "Right. Everyone escaped, and we need you to stop the fire. You're the Moonlark, after all," Mr Forkle gasped. Sophie blinked. "You want me to stop the fire? BY MYSELF?" She yelled at him. Mr Forkle nodded, and Edaline squeezed Sophie's shoulder. "You can't expect that of her!" She shouted at the wrinkly figure, who was already holding a crystal. "I can, and I will," He said, which prompted Edaline to push Sophie behind her protectively and stand up to face the several inches shorter Mr Forkle. "Now if you think I'm going to leave my dau-" Before Edaline could finish that sentence, Mr Forkle grabbed her wrist and leaped them away. Sophie cried out as Edaline screamed in rage. Mr Forkle, with the last of his fading body, threw the last leaping crystal to Alluveterre into the fire. "Go, Moonlark. Save Alluveterre!"

Sophie stood in shock as the last silvery wisps of glitter faded away, leaving her in the smoke filled cavern. She fell to her knees, coughing in the smoke, and watched as the fire made its way closer and closer with a hungry pace. How am I supposed to stop the fire? I'm not a Pyrokinetic, or a Hydrokinetic, or have any Fryssin on hand! Sophie desperately grasped at straws, bending over in a hacking fit of coughs. As her palms sank into the muddy ground, something inside her clicked into place.

A long, writing vine burst out of the ground, wrapping itself around Sophie and placing her on a higher ledge in the cliffside. Then thousands more shot towards the fire, smothering the unstoppable flame in millions of writhing tendrils. One vine came snaking out of the ground towards Sophie, holding something small and glittering, and with a gasp she realized it was one of the bottles of reserve Fryssin. She dumped the ashy powder of the vine and sent it shooting towards the others, dusting it on all of them and extinguishing the yellow flame. Sophie's triumph and wonder at this new power only lasted a second before the smoke made her head fuzzy and she collapsed. The last thing she saw before blackness consumed her was all the green vines holding her steady and a rushing motion made the hairs on her arms blow up in the sudden wind.

Then, Sophie Foster passed out.

OoOoOoOh! New ability! I made this one up with my old best friend, so it's really sentimental to me. Anyways, I hope you like it! See you next chapter!
