So we move onto chapter 2 and I want to say, for any of you wondering things like "hey how much are you gonna rewrite this fic?" Imma tell you now, it's not like I'm gonna turn this into an often occurrence, now I know that between the last rewrite, the hiatuses, and the longer times for recent chapters to come out can seem…..jarring. But frankly on a personal level it's simply me learning and trying to better myself as a writer, and what I want to put out. I've dealt with serious cases of oversight and among other things that it was becoming a chore, something I never wanted from the get go. So I felt I needed to clean the slate entirely and build it back up bit by bit to assure I saw that my project can be done much better, not perfect but something I can really be proud of.

I at some point was losing sight of the narrative core, as well as the fact that I wasn't being too keen with what I was throwing to the pot of the plot and now I look to get back to it with a new consciousness and a new but still set direction as the old one was setting out for.

123ABIR123: I had some writer's revelation that needed me to wipe the slate clean, believe me when I say I don't want to have to rewrite this again if I can help it. This is mostly for me.

vladblood234: I am glad you like my previous work, but I've been getting help and advice of a fellow author of a good fanfic I'm reading that they are working hard on, and after some talk I just had to make a clean slate to personally realign my vision without going into overdrive.

So with that, Fate/Index belong to Nasu and Kamachi respectively. Let's go!

Chapter 2: Beginnings of New Life Pt. 1

It's been a couple of hours in this new reality, and Tamamo initially thought she'll be all alone in her weakened state. Defenseless, and unable to protect herself after being sucked by that strange vortex that literally breaches the fabric of reality sending her body through the space-time continuum. By pure luck though, she was found by a young boy.

Touma Kamijou. Tamamo, in her long and cursed life, found the name very intriguing and slightly foreboding. "One who purifies the gods and slays the demons." Unlike the name, he'd approach her with gentle and genuine kindness. It was...surprising.

This same boy would offer his hand to aid her, and here she was in the back of a car next to Touma. His mother, Shiina, was a generous woman. Shiina offered to bring Tamamo home and give her shelter, though Tamamo with her experienced mind saw that this woman was also a thrill seeker and had a possessive aura to her, something she would admit she related to.

The car ride was a quiet one, not awkwardly silent but it was one of contemplation, though Tamamo did see Touma giving her some small glance from time to time, she even caught it which made him stutter a bit making her giggle, at last they reached the Kamijou household.

"Alright you two!" Shiina called. "Time to head inside and we'll get you settled in Tamamo."

Stepping out of the car the two followed the matriarch as she unlocked the front door of a two story house. Shiina would then usher the two inside.

"Come along now. Touma?" Shiina spoke to her son. "Do me a favor and show Tamamo around the house please? I'm gonna fix lunch here in a moment."

"Ok Mom." Touma responded. "Come on Tamamo!"

Touma was like a kid at a candy store, he excitedly showed Tamamo around his house, showing her the different rooms, closets, the upstairs, and the bathroom so she could go about without issues.

Tamamo was curious what made him so excited for such a trivial task, she simply had to ask.

"Hey Touma?"

"Yeah Tamamo?" Touma replied.

"You seem pretty excited about showing me your house." Tamamo said. "Why is that?"

Touma looked at her with a brief thoughtfulness, putting his finger to his chin until he spoke. "I guess I'm just excited to have a friend in my house for once."

Tamamo tilted her head, that statement held weight to it, but what it was she couldn't pinpoint. She figured if she was gonna be here, she would at least get to know Touma.

"Do you…have friends? Touma?" She asked gently.

This made Touma go quiet, his head dipped a bit, something she paid close attention to. Touma then locked eyes with her once more before speaking.

"Come on Tamamo, I'll show you my room."

She'd expected him to lie or something else, but the "Come on Tamamo, I'll show you my room." Was a very textbook definition of evading a question. Tamamo didn't need to be a nine tail to easily spot the emotional pain brewing in his eyes, if Touma didn't have a PTSD of sorts she'll eat her own tail without hesitation.

Offering his hand to her, she looked at it for a bit then back to his eyes, she swore she could see an emotional pain in those young eyes, they were innocent yet they weren't.

She then took her hand and offered it to his, and he led her to his room upstairs. Entering inside it was a simple set up of a kid's bedroom, a single bed, a TV at one end of the room, a desk with some paper with drawings and drawing materials, there was even a shelf that contained various manga.

"You have a nice house, Touma." Tamamo complimented. "It's definitely cozy."

"It's nothing fancy by any means if you're hoping for that Tamamo." Touma replied. "But make yourself at home."

Tamamo then scanned her eyes around more, her gaze fell back to the bookshelf containing the manga. She wandered over to it before picking a book and looking at its cover. The manga cover showed a young boy alongside a fox girl much like her.

"Are you interested Tamamo?" Touma asked. "You can read it if you want."

Nodding, Tamamo began to open the book and started reading through as she plopped onto Touma's bed next to said bed's owner.

As she read, she was engrossed in the adventure and the life that this protagonist and his foxy companion undertook together, and it was also clear that there was some hints of romance brewing between them.

Tamamo decided to leave a mark in the book where she left off to read later.

"You know Tamamo if you like it there is the rest of the series on the shelf you can go into when you're done with the first book." Touma offered.

"Oh really?" Tamamo responded.

"Of course!" Touma replied happily.

Tamamo gave Touma a small smile and nodded. She then began to feel bugged, particularly about the state that Touma was in; it actually tickled her brain for some time, since she met him.

Shifting her shoulders slightly she decided to ask the question that had plagued her mind for hours.

"Touma? If I may ask, why are you all banged up?"

Touma looked at her and blinked a couple of times, then gave a dry chuckle, he figured if she was this curious he would indulge her curiosity as a friend.

"Well…you see if you hang around me long enough you'll find that I'm very unlucky, so things like this state I'm in is a daily thing."

This made Tamamo look at him with slightly wide eyes. A young boy so unlucky that he gets hurt on a daily basis, it reminded her of her days as a servant, fighting against opponents with -EX rank luck which means they get the short end of the stick, or in more brutal reality terms, a spear.

Tamamo then noticed his head droop a bit again, that same painful look in his eyes that she just couldn't unsee. Slowly she raised her hand with the intent of putting it on his shoulder for comfort.

"Kids! It's time to eat!" Shiina called.

The call interrupted Tamamo and Touma hopped off the bed.

"Come on Tamamo!" He ushered.

Following him they made their way to the stairs with the young Kamijou in the lead. Disaster struck. As soon as Touma stepped on the first stair it cracked and broke on him, and he fell tumbling hard down the stairs, and upon hitting the bottom struck a lamppost that fell right on top of him, the CLACK! And CRACK! Resonate through the house.

"MIKON!! TOUMA!!" Tamamo shouted in horror as she ran down the steps carefully getting around the cracked step, she was immediately to Touma's side, and Shiina followed not long after looking mortified.

"Oh Touma sweetie!!" Shiina cried. "Please be ok!"

Touma groaned, he tried to get up but as he tried to move he felt a major pain in his left leg.

"Ow!! AAHA!!" Touma cried.

Tamamo got a good look after getting the damn lamppost off him. She immediately put her hands to her mouth in worry.

"Ms. Kamijou! His left leg is broken!" She cried.

"Oh my goodness my baby!!" Shiina wailed. "Tamamo gently get his leg propped up with something I'll call for an ambulance!!"

Nodding Tamamo got a big cushiony pillow and began to gently bring Touma's leg up.

"Ah! Rotten luck…" Touma said as the pain still seared.

"Shh-shh-sh, it's ok Touma you're gonna be ok." Tamamo thought she would try to perform her witchcraft to heal his injuries instead, so she focused hard on her mana, it was still difficult to do at present due to what had happened but she had to try.

A bright glow began to emanate from her palm and a talisman came into existence, she placed it on his leg not long after.

"Heavenly healing." She quickly said.

The magic got to work, but it was all for not as a familiar glass shattering sound rang out, the spell was gone sooner as it appeared.

"No! Why!?" Tamamo yelled.

"Tamamo?"

Hearing her name she looked over to meet his gaze.

"Tamamo…what was that?" He groaned.

"Now's not the time to answer Touma, right now you need help." Tamamo said.

It wasn't long until the ambulance arrived to pick Touma up, Shiina was going to be following them by her own car, but Tamamo wanted to stay by Touma in the ambulance.

The ride to the hospital was uneventful, but Tamamo looked at Touma with unending worry through it all. One thing she did note, the paramedics were giving Touma the stink eye, for what reason she could not understand.

At the local hospital Touma was in his hospital bed waiting to undergo surgery. By his side was his mother and Tamamo. Shiina was holding and gently caressing her only son's hand.

A nurse came in and addressed the Kamijou matriarch.

"Mrs. Kamijou? If you will come with me we will go over the medical paperwork."

Nodding, Shiina turned her attention to Tamamo.

"Tamamo sweetie, please stay by Touma, ok?"

Tamamo nodded. "Yes Miss Kamijou."

Shiina chuckled. "Please, call me Shiina sweetie."

XXX

As soon as Shiina left Tamamo sat at the edge of the bed.

"How are you holding up Touma?" She asked.

Touma gave her a small smile in response.

"I'll be ok Tamamo, don't worry too much about me."

Hearing that only made her worry more. What just happened to him was something no child should have to experience. Sure kids fall and get hurt but it's mostly scrapes and bruises, not broken bones.

"Well I am worried for you." Tamamo said.

Touma looked away meekly. "I've never had a cute girl worry for me before." He silently said.

Tamamo heard it through her superior hearing and slight tinges of pink dusted her cheeks, he called her cute.

The two remained in a calm silence, Tamamo watched as the staff and various patients moved by about their business, but one thing that always bugged Tamamo because of her keen detail sense was the passing glances that each person gave them, specifically Touma. These were looks of absolute prejudice, something she was far too familiar with.

Deciding to shelf her thoughts on the matter for now, she looked at Touma once more.

"You're strange, you know that." Tamamo said.

"Why is that?" Touma asked.

"Well…." Tamamo started. "Aren't you afraid of the fact that I'm not human?"

Touma looked at her a bit before smiling at her. He gave her a genuine answer.

"Why would I be afraid of you? You're nice, just because you have some animal features doesn't take away the fact that you're still a girl."

Tamamo's eyes went wide, then she broke into a blushing smile, scooted closer to Touma and leaned in, giving the injured, unlucky boy a small kiss on the forehead. Now it was Touma's turn, eyes widened, and some red shades formed on his face.

"Yeah, you're definitely strange." Tamamo said. "But. You're a good kind of strange."

Time passed and Touma was finally undergoing leg surgery, Tamamo and Shiina sat in a nearby lobby in avid worry, but Shiina had to stay calm as she pulled out her phone to make a call.

As Tamamo sat idle patting her upper legs, she couldn't help but go into thought more and more.

'How come my healing witchcraft got dispelled? Was it Touma's hand? Does it have an area of effect?'

She then wandered her mind back to Touma's eyes, his deep, innocent yet not so innocent storm blue eyes.

'He acts cheerful on the surface, but he's so sad…'

"You're very worried for him aren't you Tamamo."

She was snapped out of her thoughts upon hearing Shiina talk to her.

"Yeah…yeah. Um, who were you talking to, Shiina?" Tamamo asked.

"Oh I was talking to my husband Touya about the situation regarding Touma, I even told him about you Tamamo, he's quite interested in meeting you when he comes back from his business trip." Shiina explained.

"Oh really? Ok." Tamamo responded.

At last the surgery was finished, Touma was waking up from the anesthesia and was given pain relief so he would not be bothered too much as he was opening his eyes.

He looked around the hospital room he was currently laying in, his gaze fell upon none other than Tamamo, who was sitting next to his bedside, however she was fast asleep, head resting directly on the side of his bed facing him.

'She's really cute when she's asleep…..do I…?' Touma thought as he brought up his hand slowly.

He quietly reached over to her, and gently began to glide his fingers through the locks of her lovely pink hair.

'It's so…..soft, just like her tail.' Touma said in his mind.

As he continued to gently play with Tamamo's hair, to his surprise her eyes shot open looking directly at him. He backed his hand away quickly and stuttered apologies while going red as a tomato.

Tamamo didn't really respond right away, though she was slightly red faced herself. She then gave Touma small considerate smile before speaking.

"Good to see you awake Touma."

Touma stopped babbling upon hearing that, he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly feeling all manner of silly, after all he was just casually playing with a girl's hair while she was tuckered out.

"Thanks Tamamo. Hey where's Mom." He asked.

"Shiina is currently talking with the doctor, she was in here with me fifteen minutes ago, she should be back soon." Tamamo explained.

Tamamo then provided Touma with a cup of water and an apple juice box.

"Here Touma, drink these, and make sure to take regular deep breaths for a bit, it will prevent you from developing pneumonia." Tamamo instructed him.

"Wow, you look my age but you sound like a professional doctor Tamamo." Touma mused.

"Ahahaha!" Tamamo giggled.

Touma made a mental note of how pretty Tamamo's laugh was. Another thought crossed his mind from a memory that just resurfaced from earlier today.

"Hey Tamamo, what did you do back there at my house, you know, with the light from your hand and that paper appeared from nowhere."

Tamamo gave Touma a thoughtful look, she didn't really have time to explain to Touma then because of the initial situation, after thinking it over for a bit, she decided to indulge his curiosity, he saw what she did anyway, and as of right now there was no one around to hear them right now, it was just the two of them in the room.

"Well Touma." She began. "What's your view of magic?"

Touma was immediately curious upon hearing the word magic.

"Wait, I thought magic was just for story books?" He said.

"Hmm, well if you're gonna be a nonbeliever about it then there's no point in telling you more." Tamamo said, putting a hand to her cheek in thought.

"Wait, wait Tamamo please tell me!" Touma begged.

Tamamo giggles, she then gives Touma a joking look.

"Alright Touma, yes it was real magic, specifically witchcraft."

"Witchcraft?" Touma questions. "As in wicked old witches?"

This made Tamamo feel irked and she took her right hand and flicked him right in the forehead.

"Ow!" Touma whined.

"I'm a witch Touma, that much is certain." Tamamo gruffs. "But I'm nowhere near a declining old hag with a witch hat."

"Sorry Tamamo…" Touma apologized.

Tamamo wasn't mad, she figured that's his first impression of a witch anyway. Once more a silence took over the room. Touma felt tired, he drank his water and apple juice and took his deep breaths as instructed by Tamamo, he then decided to take a slight nap, and closed his eyes hoping for at least a nice daydream.

Tamamo looked at his sleeping form, and much like Touma thought about her earlier, was thinking he was an adorable sleeper. As if a reverse card had been pulled, this time Tamamo began to pet Touma's mop black hair, and a similar thought came through her mind, his hair was soft. She found a sense of comfort in the boy since being launched into this new reality, despite his apparent misfortune which winded up with him being here in the first place. But one that will continue to bother Tamamo was the fact that his eyes were always….sad.

The moment was soon interrupted when the door opened and a man came through, it was one of the doctors. He held a pillow to his side and he had a kind smile on his face.

Immediately Tamamo recognized a red flag, and that smile was anything but kind, it was a mask for hiding a more sinister intention.

"Young lady, if you don't mind stepping out for a bit, I'm gonna give little Touma here a quick check up, and replace his pillow so he remains comfortable." The doctor asked.

With narrow eyed suspicion Tamamo spoke.

"No thank you." She replied politely. "I don't think it's necessary to have me step out for a simple check up."

The doctor almost frowned, almost, his lips were twitching, trying to maintain whatever facade he was putting on.

"Young lady please, do as I ask, don't have me require an escort." The doctor said calmly. It was clear though he was annoyed.

Left with no other option she slid off Touma's bed and made her way to the door. She didn't want to leave, but she didn't want to cause a scene. Once she was outside the room the door was closed behind her, and her suspicions were confirmed when a distinct locking sound was heard. Immediately she went to the door knob and tried to open it, but she couldn't, she began to hear the sound of struggling on the other side as panic rooted itself into her mind.

"Touma!" Tamamo cried as she pounded on the door. Despite the commotion there was no else about the hallway at the moment, but someone was bound to notice soon.

Concentrating hard she used her witchcraft to bust open the door. She would be met with the horrifying sight of the doctor trying to suffocate the injured boy with the pillow he brought.

Of course the doctor was stopped upon hearing the door flung open all of a sudden to see the little Tamamo rush inside with a fury in her eyes.

"What the hell-!"

"AAAAAGH!" Wailed Tamamo as she pounced right on the mad doctor and morphed her hands to be claw like, it was the rush of adrenaline that kept her going despite her use of magic exhausting her, sheer anger at the fact that her one friend in this place was about to be murdered in cold blood.

She scratched the ever loving hell out of the doctor who was screaming in pain. Meanwhile Touma was coughing and wheezing having almost lost oxygen to the attempt on his life, but was able to see the spectacle before him.

"Tamamo…!!" He cried.

The panicked doctor managed to throw Tamamo off him and reached into his coat to reveal a scalpel. Touma was alarmed and immediately called his companion to warn her.

"Look out Tamamo!"

Before she could react Tamamo was still recovering from getting dropped onto the floor like a sandbag and didn't see it coming in time.

A splotch sound was heard as Tamamo found herself stabbed in the back, luckily missing the spine and dropped once more to the floor.

The nightmare was finally over when other doctors and nurses came in along with any security staff to restrain the deranged man, and as they dragged him away he wailed profanity.

"That fucking curse, stupid ass plague! He is responsible for my son getting injured! He is a blight on society!!"

Despite the pain Tamamo heard everything, she even heard some people agreeing silently with the man, thankfully the ones that were helping them seemed to be the more compassionate people.

One police arrest and a quick treatment later, Touma, Tamamo, and a very panicked Shiina left the hospital after her son was discharged early to get them to the safety of home. Tamamo was bandaged and wrapped after the stabbing but decided to heal herself in full when they were home and she was more energized.

Upon returning to the house, they were met by a man, a man that Shiina and Touya recognized immediately.

"Honey!"

"Dad!"

Touya rushed over to them and looked them over, releasing a breath he didn't know he had been holding.

"Thank goodness you two are ok, when you called me about the situation it was right as I had gotten back to the house from the airport." Touya said. "I could have come sooner but was inconveniently held up for a bit."

He kissed his wife and ruffled Touma's hair while Shiina was carrying him. He then crouched down upon seeing an extra in the group.

"Well hello there sweetie, if I'm not mistaken you must be Tamamo. That's a very interesting name, it reminds me of an old legend my grandparents told me years ago."

Tamamo looked away a bit, she knew exactly what legend he was talking about, but it bugged her to have it mentioned, simply due in part because it was not a happy one, and she was portrayed in a malevolent manner.

"My name is Touya Kamijou, no need to be shy." Touya flashed a smile. "I'll make sure you're all taken care of."

It was nighttime, and the Kamijou family and Tamamo were enjoying the food that Shiina had cooked for lunch prior to Touma's injury.

"This food is good Shiina." Tamamo complimented.

"Ahaha! Why thank you Tamamo dear." Shiina replied abashedly.

"So Tamamo, what do you remember prior to our son finding you?" Touya asked.

Tamamo knew they were nice people but she also knew that Touma's parents would have a hard time believing her situation, so she opted to lie.

"I….I don't remember anything prior to that."

"Oh you poor girl." Shiina said. "Amnesia."

"Well Tamamo, just know that you'll be safe here with us till we can sort things out." Touya said.

The Kamijou patriarch then turned to his son with a playful but stern look.

"So Touma? Since you're picking up stray girls, are you perhaps looking to marry this lady later?"

"Dad!!" Touma whines in embarrassment, especially seeing Tamamo giggling.

After dinner Touma was brought to bed with Tamamo following along, Shiina offered to make a futon for her but Tamamo decided to stay by Touma, saying it's to protect him.

This made Shiina laugh as she kissed her son good night. Once she exited the room Tamamo lit up the lamp on the desk, she took the manga she bookmarked and plopped next to Touma. Before she began to read through it again she noticed a sad expression on Touma's face.

"What's wrong Touma?" She asked gently.

"It's my fault." He murmured.

"Touma…"

"It's my fault that you're hurt Tamamo, everything that happens is always my fault." Touma lamented.

Just as Touma was wallowing in his own grim feelings, he suddenly felt himself being tickled, tickled by something soft, warm, and fuzzy.

It was Tamamo's tail, she shifted out her fox features and turned around to swish it on him.

"Ahahahaha! Hey Tamamo, stop that! Ahahahaha!"

"Don't be so down on yourself Touma." Tamamo said firmly. "There is no way everything is your fault."

While Tamamo's words were kind and comforting it didn't really stave off Touma's funk that much, if anything he was worried that she would turn out like all the rest.

Once more Tamamo tickled him with her tail which cheered him up, she would then snuggle up to Touma as they both read the manga together, before falling asleep.

The following day Touma and Tamamo were out playing by the front of the house. Touma was on some small crutches to help him get around, and Tamamo sat him down on the sidewalk so the two could play with chalk drawings on the ground. It was a relatively peaceful day, until of course that peace would be rudely broken.

"Ow!" Touma cried.

A stone had been tossed at him, hitting him right on the head, Tamamo traced the throw directly back to a couple of boys who were a couple of years older.

"Nice shot Hidan! That'll teach that plague!" One of the boys cheered.

"Hey!" Tamamo snapped getting up. "What's your problem with him huh? He's injured and did nothing wrong!"

"What's a cutie like you doing around this filth? Done nothing wrong? Clearly you haven't heard the story of the plague god." The boy named Hidan spoke.

"Plague god?" Tamamo questioned.

"Yeah, tell her Hozuki." Hidan ordered.

"That kid you're with?" Hozuki pointed towards Touma who had his head down. "Bad things happen whenever you're around this freak. Every kid and adult in town looks at him with contempt, justified of course."

"So with that little bit of information in your head, it's better you ditch this loser and hang with us instead." Hidan said as he went up to the silent Touma, and put his foot down on him. Stomping him like he was a bug.

"Stop it right now!" Tamamo cried.

She then noticed a woman passing by on the street and she was looking at the scene before her, but instead of doing anything about it she had a neutral expression and kept walking, paying it no mind.

This sickened Tamamo who took matters into her own hands once more. She ran up to Hidan and kicked upside the head and sent him hurtling straight into Hozuki. Then as a show of payback she began to stomp down on both of them as hard as she could muster in strength.

"Tamamo stop!" Called Touma.

Tamamo ceased her actions and looked at her friend, she saw him looking at her with a small genuine smile on her face, but those eyes, those pain stricken eyes. They would always pierce her heart for the wellbeing of this kind boy, who showed her compassion.

The two bullies immediately took their opportunity to run, not wanting to deal with a crazy girl. Tamamo went up to Touma before crouching down and giving him a much needed hug. This action shocked Touma, as his eyes grew a bit wider.

"You don't have to harbor this pain alone, you know Touma? Even if the people here torture you, I'll be right by the whole time to let you know you're safe." Tamamo gently said. "You just met me yesterday and showed me kindness. Now it's my turn."

She broke the hug, and looked into Touma's eyes again, the expression he held was one with which they had seen an Angel. A light tear slid down Touma's cheek, and Tamamo swore she saw the pain in his eyes wither away ever so slightly.

When it was time to go back inside Tamamo helped Touma to the living room, Shiina was in the Kitchen preparing to cook, Touya was out meanwhile talking to some associates.

Tamamo decided to go into the kitchen and offer to help Shiina cook, this surprised the young woman, but she gladly accepted a helping hand to make Yakisoba. Needless to say, Shiina would be surprised that a girl as young as Tamamo had a very high cooking prowess. Utilizing ingredients and spices she never thought of.

When the food was done and Touya came home, everyone was seated, giving a quick thanks and prayers, they dug in and were amazed by how good the food turned out. The explosion of flavor and texture hitting their mouths, of course Tamamo was already used to her own heavenly cooking. Needless to say Shiina was already beginning to beg her five year old boy to marry Tamamo when they grew up, much to his embarrassment.

Six to eight weeks would pass and a couple of doctors and a nurse came to check up on Touma, considering the incident at the hospital it was better to just look him over at the house.

Touma's leg was healed quite well faster than expected, though physical therapy and regular checkups were still needed.

This of course made it much more easier for Touma to play with Tamamo, and the two would engage in less physically strenuous games like hide and seek, though with Touma's luck he had a hard time finding her, plus it struck every now and again in the form of random bee stings, or the typical banana peel slip to give some examples, he even tripped into a coy pond in the backyard and got sick, having Tamamo to care for him after, even make him a soup with Shiina's help.

They decided to hold off on that game for now and just draw together, or read, or just talk. There were moments where Tamamo was just sitting quietly with Touma as he played his handheld video games on the couch, and she would watch him while resting on his shoulder.

Over the two months Tamamo had been living with the Kamijou family, it had been a happy time, and Touma and Tamamo continued to bond throughout it all, there were even moments where Tamamo tried to show Touma small bits of her witchcraft to entertain him, of course this lead to another instance of his hand interfering with one of the spells, he even tried his left hand on a fire spell but got burned a bit, such a strange power. Overtime Tamamo saw that the light in Touma's storm blue eyes became ever brighter, of course the day came when Touya announced that they found a place that was willing to take Tamamo in, it was the local church. Of course this made both Touma and Tamamo look at each other in sadness, neither one wanted to be away from each other.

"Hey you two, just because you aren't gonna be living together, doesn't mean that you can't visit each other or stay over sometimes, and if anything, we'll try to make it as often as possible when Touma is done with Kindergarten class." Touya promised.

This made the two of them lighten up a bit. Upon arriving at the town church, the reverend was out in front waiting for them.

"Good afternoon Mr. Kamijou, this little one is Tamamo's I presume?" He asked with a kind smile.

"Indeed she is reverend, she's a very kind and well behaved lady." Touya said as he put his hand to her shoulder, all while Tamamo was holding onto Touma's hand tightly.

The good reverend knelt down to Tamamo with a kind smile. "Hello little one, I'm Reverend Akio, don't be scared, we'll take good care of you here."

Tamamo gave Touma a long look before letting go of his hand and taking the reverend's. But before she was brought along to the church building, she saw Touma hold out his pinky to her.

"Together forever?" Touma asked.

Tamamo looked at the bright eyes of Touma, eyes whose pain was all a bit relieved thanks to her, and she smiled, lacing her pinky with his, before drawing him into a hug that he happily returned.

"Together forever." She responded.

And with that they reluctantly let go and Tamamo followed the reverend into the church, but not before giving Touma one more smiling glance before the door closed.

Touma only looked on as a cold feeling washed over him from not having Tamamo near him, she always brightened his day and every time they hugged he swore she was as warm as a sunny summer day.

"Come on kiddo." Touya said, patting his shoulder. "You'll get to see her later."

Touma nodded, and followed his father back to the car, he spared one more look to the church before they drove off back home.

AN: And that is it for chapter 2, this will be split into two parts so part two is gonna be coming with more detailed looks into Touma and Tamamo's childhood together but still not showing all of it, to save some moments for key emotional flashbacks as the story goes on post time skip.

Hope you enjoyed it and see you in the next one!
