Now here we are in the second chapter of the latest fanfic! Things have officially kicked off with the entwined fate of Ben and Altera. But this is only the beginning, things are gonna get crazy in time.
Kurt930: I'm excited too, I've been wanting to put my foot in the door on this concept for some time now, it amazes me how no one has done a fanfic with Ben and Altera together.
Sonic0859: well hold onto your seats cause this is gonna be a wild ride. The fanfic Nero is in is Imagine Breaker and his Foxy Caster(Rebirth), she hasn't appeared in it yet but she appeared in the original prototype work, the description in this story should have clued you in but if not that's ok.

Vilostrike218: thank you so much man! I appreciate you calling this a gem. I remember reading some good fate Ben 10 fics but I think some of them no longer exist much less were continued sadly.
Guest Questioner: I just looked at the story you mentioned that had a similar beginning, interesting. Don't worry Altera is not gonna be a supporting character, she's gonna fight along side and interact often. Young Altera having a mixture of her malign and benign self is something to play around with. I'm not gonna do comic book characters if I add other content but like my other story more type moon characters will appear later on, and yes I'm going to ensure there's character development for Ben and Altera as they hang around each other.

Chapter 2: Looming Trouble
Back in the void of space, the massive alien warship that was undergoing repairs had opened up one of the hatches releasing a pod of its own down to earth.
Meanwhile on said planet the Tennyson family plus the mysterious girl named Altera were still at the campsite for the night, Ben was busy fiddling with the watch while Altera stood next to him leaning up against the Rust Bucket.
"So how can I get this thing off?" Ben asked to no one in particular.
"Fiddling with it won't help you reach a definite answer Ben." Altera spoke.
"Well something needs to be figured out. I can't have this stuck to my wrist forever."
"By the way where exactly is here?" Altera asked wanting to know the current location.
"Oh it's Yosemite National Park or whatever, why so interested?" Ben asked.
"Merely curiosity."
Soon enough Gwen came over to join the two of them, much to Ben's annoyance.
"Grandpa is not in the RV, did any of you see where he went?" She asked.
"No idea, I didn't see him go anywhere." Ben replied.
"I saw Max go off in that direction, where the watch and myself crashed." Altera pointed.
"Lets follow him then." Ben suggested.
"I'm pretty sure Grandpa doesn't want us to follow if he hasn't said anything to us about checking out the crash site doofus." Gwen said.
"What are you scared. I'm going just to see what Grandpa is up to, if you want to just stay here and sit around that's fine by me. Hey you want to join Altera?"
Altera simply shrugged and followed Ben as they made their way back to the crash site. Before they moved any further Ben paused for a moment and thought of something.
"You know what I'm gonna see about transforming again."
"I don't think it's a good idea to mess with it further." Gwen said.
"Come on, you're not the least bit curious of what this thing can do."
Messing with the faceplate again he struck the watch and after a flash of green light Altera and Gwen were met with the sight of a big orange dog like creature.
"What the? First some fire guy now some alien dog?" Said Gwen.
The dog like alien growled and sniffed around for a bit as Altera came up to him to get a closer examination.
"He's blind, though I'd imagine he has a very keen sense of smell."
Ben proceeded to sniff Altera and circled her a bit as she looked on in interest. She then put her hand out gently letting Ben get close until his head made contact with her hand. Altera proceeded to pet the alien dog to its delight as he enjoyed the attention.
"Soft fur." Altera commented as a small smile graces her lips.
Both of them hear a snickering noise and look over to see Gwen silently laughing to herself.
"Might I ask what is so humorous?" Asked Altera.
"Ben is basically like your pet from what I'm looking at. Ahahahah!!"
Ben gruffest at Gwen for that little snipe then looked at Altera lowering his head in the process. It quickly registered what he was offering so she climbed onto his back and sat just comfortably enough that Ben proceeded to scramble off.
"Wha…hey! Wait for me!" Gwen cried out as she caught up with the other two.
As Max was investigating the crash site the pod that was launched from its ship finally crashed. It proceeded to change shape becoming a big bipedal orange robot, and upon standing upright it shot two small drones out of its shoulders which flew of to track down its target.
Speaking of Max, he had a lot on his mind recently. The fact that his grandson came across a watch that fell from outer space that can completely transform him into a different entity, an alien, the fire creature was a Pyronite from the planet Pyros. Then there was the mysterious girl named Altera, her human appearance was odd but he could tell there was something much more to the girl on a strangely frightening level. He pondered this as he came upon the crash sight.

Ben was currently perched up on a tree branch with Altera hanging off of his back. Nothing significant was going down till Ben sensed something, it was the two drones and they noticed him, both machines fired laser blasts at him and Altera but they jumped out of the way and surprised them. Ben made one crash while Altera jumped up and hurled her fist down on the other destroying it in the process. Just as that was done Gwen had finally caught up to them with a shovel in hand but it was already clear before she could do anything.
"Ok, what were those and what did I just miss?" She asked.
The three of them made it back to the RV where Max was waiting for them, and he didn't look pleased.
"Where were you three?" He asked.
"We we're heading off to look for you, Altera said you went off in the direction of the crash site." Gwen said.
"It would be safer if you three stayed put. I reckon Ben used the watch again?" Max asked looking at his grandson.
"He did, and he discovered a new transformation too." Altera replied.
"Then we were attacked by these weird robot drone things." Ben added.
Max looked alarmed hearing that.
"Ben you shouldn't be misusing that watch, such technology is extremely dangerous. However, since it doesn't seem like it will come off, then I'm gonna have to teach you how to use it."
"Teach me? Aren't you just a retired plumber? This is alien stuff we're talking about here Grandpa." Ben said.
Before anything can be discussed further the group heard a distress signal from the RV's dispatch radio. The sound of screaming and panic could be heard and the person calling for help mentioned being attacked by a robot.
"Those drones must be after the watch, they're attacking innocent people just to get to me. But this also means I get the chance to be a hero! A real hero!" Ben said with excitement in his voice.
"Do you look to be a real hero? Or are you simply trying at the chance to play being the hero. It is not an easy path to walk and from what I can tell you are a headstrong reckless type." Altera cut in.
Ben felt a little deflated after hearing that but he slapped himself slightly to keep composure, Altera seemed to come off a bit harsh.
"Less argue more hero time." Ben said.
The group began to make they're way to the scene and before they reached their destination Max took the time to speak to Ben.
"I would listen to Altera's words Ben, being a hero is not as easy as you think." Max added.
"Oh come on Grandpa it's gonna be ok, hey am I at least good to transform again?" He asked hopeful.
Max looked at Ben for a moment before before making his decision.
"Alright Ben, go ahead."
Having gotten the green light Ben activated the Watch and proceeded to transform once more, however he had a new form. It was a tall bulky green crystaloid entity which appeared to be wearing a black body suit. The face plate sitting right on the chest.
"Whoa, what's this guy." Ben said in fascination.
They finally reached the sight to find the robot wrecking and blasting everything in sight.
"Hey tin head over head!" Yelled Ben.
The machine turned its attention towards Ben and Altera's direction. It began to scan Ben finding the Omnitrix symbol right on the chest. It then scanned Altera and alarms went off signaling her major threat, before it went on the attack sent a data signal to its master on board the Chimerian Hammer.
Meanwhile Max and Gwen were leading the evacuation efforts to get the people to safety.
The drone having done its data transfer began firing lasers out of his hands. Upon striking Ben he was sent hurtling onto his back, however he was unharmed upon looking himself over.
"Hm. I'm sturdier and sharper than I look."
Ben then glanced over to see Altera getting shot at by the same lasers but she was effortlessly dodging each beam directed at her. She then ran up to it and and sent a jumping kick straight into the drone making it fall back to the ground, however she noticed she only put a dent in its armor compared to the smaller drone she pounded down not to long ago.
The drone got up and noticed Ben charging its way and proceeded to fire more lasers at him to which Ben instinctively put his arms up and his arms morphed to be more blade like, the blast was completely deflected.
"Whoa, now this is cool. Hey hey scrap heap, shoot me in the chest if you can!" Ben goaded.
However instead of falling for Ben's trap, it charged him to his surprise and barreled into him till he was pinned to the ground.
"Ok, lucky hit pal."
Ben's quip was answered with a series of punches to his face. There was even a point where the machine was gonna punch him right in the chest on the face plate.
Suddenly before that could happen the drone was struck by what appeared to be a blast of rainbow light. It sent the drone hurling back aways and appears to have lost a limb.
Ben looks over to his utter surprise there stood Altera, only she didn't look like a kid anymore, instead she looked like a young adult, and if she was cute as a kid she was utterly beautiful in this older form, her outfit changed as well as the bow was gone, she sported a two piece outfit that was showing midriff, her veil like hair was longer and waving about very ghost like and she had white cut off sleeves along her arms. Ben stared transfixed at the sight of her he didn't notice the face plate beep red reverting him to human, his face sported a slight red blush, he then caught sight of the object she was carrying in her right hand, it looked like a sword, or maybe a whip made out of light that sported three different colors: green, red and blue. It was her Sword of Mars, Photon Ray.
"Woah." He mouthed.
Altera eyed the drone with a neutral expression as it got back by its one arm, she then took Photon Ray and proceeded to walk up to the machine like she didn't have a care in the world and in one great slash annihilated the drone in a flash of light.
Ben looked on completely dumbstruck, more and more questions pop into his head regarding the mystery of the girl known as Altera, but one thing's for sure, she was powerful.
He then noticed she was panting, in fact she looked a little winded even.
"Altera? Are you ok!!?" Ben asked in concern.
Altera then collapsed to her knees and began to glow, it appeared she was shrinking until she was back to her kid form.
"Hey! Altera!" Ben called out as he ran up to her.
Altera stood up and turned around to face Ben who had just ran up to her and proceeded to chop him over the head. Hard.
"Ow! Why did you hit me!"
"While it is strategic to goad your enemies into a trap, that thing already saw you deflect its beams and changed tactics, this is not a game, you could have very well been killed earlier." Altera said in a critical tone.
Ben looked away sheepishly, he didn't know what to say, he then felt a hand on his head as he looked on shocked at Altera petting him.
"Be mindful of enemies that can read your movements and adapt accordingly, that means you must do the same." Altera said as she gave him a rare small smile.
"By the way your hair is as soft as the fur of that alien dog you transformed into."
"Oh uh…re-really?" Stammered Ben as he found himself going red once more.
"Hey! Are you two alright!?" Called Max as he went up to them with Gwen in tow.
"Yeah we're fine Grandpa. But Altera was really cool! Hey where's your light sword?" Ben asked realizing the sword was gone.
"Light sword? Are you being nerdy at a time like this? You really are a doofus." Gwen said in exasperation.
"Now now lets hear what Ben is talking about." Max said.
"I can't wield Photon Ray while I'm in this form." Altera said.
"Photon Ray? That's such a cool name." Ben said.
"So hero you gonna give that diamond form a name?" Altera asked.
Ben contemplates for a moment on what name to give to the crystal alien.
"Hm, how about, Diamondhead."
After a little awkward celebration, they slipped by the confused citizens and made their way back to the Rust Bucket.
Back on the Chimerian hammer, It's commander and lord Vilgax was seething in his chamber.
"Another failure! Unbelievable, there should be no possible way to be my drones were defeated so easily!" Vilgax rasped.
"I swear, I will destroy whoever is standing between me, and my Omnitrix!!"
"My lord we have received a data transmission from the primary drone." Said one of the subordinate drones.
"Show me." Vilgax commanded.
A hollow screen popped up showing whatever gathered info the attack drone got on Altera.
"Well well, what do we have here."

Back on earth it was morning, Max and Gwen were packing everything up, and Altera was helping out, Max thought it best that she stay with them from here on out.
"Where's Ben?" Max asked.
"He told me he went to go take care of something." Altera told him.
Suddenly they were met with a fast moving dust cloud, and stopping right in front of them was a black and blue velociraptor like frictionless speedster alien creature whose face shield opened up to reveal its face, the Omnitrix symbol adorned to its chest.
"Ben what were you up too?" Max asked.
"Oh I just had to run a couple of errands before continuing the road trip." Ben replied.
"I reckon you used the watch for something stupid didn't you." Altera voiced.
"Jeez harsh." Ben said as he reverted back to human and entered the RV with everyone else.
Meanwhile back in Ben's hometown of Bellwood the school bullies Cash and JT were hanging by there underwear on a tree.
"Ok, how did this even happen?" Cash asked.
"Dude, I don't know." JT responded.
Little did they know this was payback for putting Ben in the same position position at the end of school.
