And we hit the 4th chapter of Omnitrix and Umbral Star. I've gotten some comments in the reviews about the ending of the last chapter being adorable. That's what I was aiming for as I made it, think of it as a glimpse of the future of Ben and Altera's relationship. So with that let's look at the reviews you put for last chapter.

Blazingvictini09: yep definitely adorable, there will be plenty of relationship growth, just wait till I cover the episode with the yenaldooshi.

Kurt930: yes there will be teen Ben and Altera, by that time skip Altera should be able to have her regular form again.

Bluecore: like the enthusiasm!

epantoja521: glad you like the story!

5had0wHand: Altera will definitely help give stable and good characterization of Ben, honestly I wasn't thinking of of the whole saber class riding saber tooth that much, I simply added that to give Altera more glory so she isn't relegated to the side. Not to sure how Altera can help with magic considering the system between her dimension and Ben's is vastly different.

Shogun lord poke burst: hey I found it interesting, also it helped give me the idea for the childhood friend route of my most forefront story. Sadly the cat had to go since the transmodulator's reversal wave made everything dead again.

GuestGuy: thank you for liking my story! I said it before how shocked I was that nobody made a fanfic for Ben and Altera! So I'm glad to be the first on that front and I am happy to hear about its potential!

Guest questioner: I figured you were still waiting for an explanation.

Ben 10/Fate belong to Man of Action and Nasu. It's Hero Time!

Chapter 4: Altera the Kraken Hunter

Nighttime shown over a woodland area surrounding a lake, slight fog but not terrible, all was quiet until...

"Canon ball!"

The voice of Ben Tennyson shouted as he hit the water.

"Judges scores. Yes! Perfect 10! Yeah! HAAA! The crowed loves him!"

Over on a nearby dock was Gwen shining a flashlight over watching the entire thing.

"A perfect dweeb is more like it."

"Come on, dive in!" Ben called.

"Please, who knows what slimy nasty things are crawling around in there." Gwen said as she moved her flashlight around and landed on Ben.

"I rest my case."

"What's the point of camping by a lake if you're afraid to get wet." Ben replied splashing water at his cousin.

"AAGH! Knock it off midget!" Gwen said angrily before walking away.

"At least Altera agreed to join me for a swim. Speaking of where is she?"

Unknown to Ben something was coming up from below him getting ever closer to his position.

"Hey! What's happening!" Ben shouted and coughed as he felt himself get dragged under.

"Very funny Ben. I'm not falling for it." Gwen said as she walked back to check on her cousin.

She shined her flashlight where Ben was to find he wasn't there and bubbles popped on the surface.

"Ben?" Gwen called now getting concerned.

Suddenly a hulking figure covered in seaweed and sporting four yellow eyes emerged freaking Gwen out who fell backwards dropping her flashlight. It shined on the figure revealing it to be Four Arms, one of Ben's aliens.

"Ben!?"

"You should have seen the look on your face, ah priceless."

"You are so busted when I tell Grandpa." Gwen said annoyed as she walked off.

"Ahahahaha! I can't believe she fell for it, a monster in the lake, way to go on the dragging me down portion Altera."

Altera herself rose up from the water, she was wearing a white one piece bathing suit that was bought for prior to arriving at there present location. First time she tried it on Ben couldn't help but admire her a bit, of course that got him grilled into by Gwen to his annoyance.

"Remind me again why you would use the watch for such...impractical use." Altera asked.

"I simply wanted to scare Gwen, see how gullible she was, and it worked." Four Arms said smugly.

"I'm going to return to the camper, it would be wise to get some much needed sleep." Altera said getting out of the water.

"I'll be over soon enough." Four Arms replied.

Not long after Altera left a tendril of some sort shot out of the water catching Four Arms's attention who went wide eyed.

One of the smaller protruding tendrils grabbed the Tetramand and tossed him way across part of the lake. Four Arms gasped and looked around only to be snatched and dragged under. He would then be faced with the site of a big blue eye. Gasping, he shook free and quickly swam to the surface leaving the lake to the Rustbucket.

Max, Gwen and Altera were sound asleep when Four Arms barged in breathing heavily.

"I...was just attacked, by a giant monster."

This earned him a pillow to the face from Gwen.

"Hello, current events. You already got me with that." Gwen said annoyed before going back to sleep.

"But I'm not kidding this time."

"Come on champ, jokes over."

"But I..."

"Ben."

Four arms looked over to see a grumpy Altera, she had gone to sleep fairly quickly and was well into dreamland but it seemed she was a light sleeper, and Ben's obstruction angered her.

"I went along with your joke simply out of pure boredom but it's done, wake me again with this and I promise you'll pay."

The watch had timed out just as Altera relayed her threat, Ben gulped.

"Get some sleep. Remember we have an early day tomorrow for our fishing trip." Max said.

The next day the Tennysons and Altera were walking by a fishing village, Ben was trying desperately to convince the others that what he encountered was real.

"No really! It was humongous with these red glowing eyes!"

"I'm sure it was just some kind of big fish that's all." Max said.

"Yeah, so give the mega fish story a rest would you captain dweeb." Gwen followed up.

Ben looked at Alter hoping she would believe him.

"Come on Altera, you believe me right?"

Altera said nothing, she was still mad about her sleep being so abruptly interrupted, she didn't even spare him a glance and said...

"I'm not having it with this foolishness."

That made Ben feel downtrodden as he walked ahead, something about having Altera be mad at him just sucked away his joy. He went to the end of the dock to see a bucket full of bait worms, maybe he could try to cheer himself up a bit. He scooped up a handful of worms and put his hand out in front of Altera.

"Breakfast?"

Altera looked at him unamused, she grabbed his hand wrung his arm to bend inward forcing the bait to his head. Ben looked at her with a mixture of shock and sadness.

"Altera, could you please be a bit less harsh on Ben?" Max asked.

"Hey the dweeb has to learn somehow. Anyway, I'm gonna pass on the whole fishing trip, maybe catch some sun. Hey, maybe you can join me Altera! We can have some girl time."

Altera looked back at Ben who simply stood there anticipating her answer, she looked back at Gwen and nodded as the two began to walk off.

"Ok, but you two don't know what your missing." Max said.

"I'm pretty sure we do." Gwen replied.

Max looked at his grandson who looked at the retreating girls with a withered expression, specifically at the retreating form of Altera. He gave Ben a soft expression before putting a hand to his shoulder.

"Give her time kiddo, come on, some good fishing should brighten your mood."

Sparing Altera one more glance, he turned around to face the boat they were near.

"Captain Shaw?" Max asked.

"Who wants to know?" The old codger replied.

"I'm Max Tennyson, and this is my grandson Ben. We chartered your boat for a fishing trip."

"Well what are you waiting for engraved invitation? Get aboard, I ain't got all day."

Ben boarded first still looking a bit down, Max followed up with a concerned expression.

The fishing boat sailed out along the lake, it had been all gray skies since the start of the trip. Max who was facing port side decided to strike conversation with captain Shaw.

"Anything interesting to catch out here?"

"More than you know. Looks like your boy is using his breakfast as chum."

Max looked at his grandson who had his head dipped over the side arms crossed.

"You ok Ben?"

"I'm fine Grandpa." Ben responded. He didn't bother to look his way.

Ben was just looking at the water, he still had an upset expression, there was so much running through his mind. He knew he saw a monster last night, but nobody believed him, then there was the matter of Altera being cross with him, which stung even more.

"Are you still upset about Altera?"

"No...I'm just thinking about the lake monster." Ben quickly diverted topics.

Max raised an eyebrow at his grandson still being hung up on that.

"Ben, I'm sure Altera can't stay upset with you all day, she seems like quite the mature young lady for her age, I think she doesn't appreciate your antics all that much."

"Grandpa I...!"

He cut himself off when he saw something in the water.

"Woah! There it is!"

As they got closer it was simply a piece of drift wood with some kind of lidless container on it.

"Not a monster Ben."

"Oops, my bad."

"Now Ben, this is a fishing trip. Not a monster hunt."

"It's called the Kraken." Came the voice of Shaw.

"Woah. You know about it?" Ben asked snapping completely out of his funk.

"It's my business to know about it." Shaw said as he handed Ben a picture.

"I have known its tale for years, people say me rudder's not right."

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Max said.

"Sightings go back hundreds of years on this very lake. Some say it's a myth. Not me. I can take you to a spot, where I personally laid eyes on the beast, that is, if you got the stomach for some real adventure."

Max looked at his grandson who had an excited expression on his face while he looked concerned.

"I guess so."

"Alright!"

"Sonar, high depth set up, ultrasound, I got it all, and I will find it. Mark my words, it can't hide forever." Shaw said.

Ben looked on with interest when Max came up and pulled him to the side to talk.

"Ben, I don't think you should put too much stock into what mister Shaw says, I don't think he has both ores in the water, if you know what I mean."

"Why? Just because he saw the Kraken too?" Ben said angrily before walking off.

"What's going on?" Shaw asked.

"Looks official, maybe we should turn around." Said Max.

"Nonsense, this is my lake and I'll go wherever I..."

"Fishing boat! Stop where you are!"

Another boat came up to them with some letters that said FOF on the side.

"I am Jonah Melville, founder of Friends of Fish, we've closed this section of the lake for an environmental study. You'll have to turn your boat around."

"Suppose you make me fish hugger." Shaw replied.

"Well, I did charter this boat for the day, I believe I'm in charge, isn't that right captain?" Max said with a smirk.

Shaw sighed and mumbled as he went back to the helm.

"But what about the Kraken!?" Ben asked.

Laughter could be heard from Jonah.

"Hahahaha! The Kraken? Not that old fish story. Look, I'm a marine biologist, and anyone who tells you they've seen a monster in this lake, is casting without a hook."

Ben looked on annoyed.

The research vessel was leading Shaw's boat away from the restricted zone, Shaw heard a beeping noise and looked up at the equipment.

"The sonar! It found something."

A fin stuck out of the water and whatever it was attached to was moving fast.

"More like something found us. Look!"

"The Kraken."

Looking down at the water, a massive shadowy form was directly under them, the water became chaotic as it moved.

"It's heading for the docks!"

"Gwen." Max said.

"Altera!" Ben followed.

Unknown to the aforementioned girls as the beast approached they were sitting at the end of a dock.

XXX

"Ah finally a little sun, and with my big mouth cousin nowhere in sight, I can just sit back and relax, it's even better that another girl is with me, right Altera?"

"Hm." Was all she uttered.

"I got to say I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't stand Ben's immaturity but I think Grandpa has a point, you were a bit harsh lately, I told get maintaining beauty sleep, but you don't have to be cold."

"His immaturity is what's gonna cost him on the path he chose to take, his moments against Animo show he's capable but I will not stand for someone who acts a fool when danger is lurking from corner to corner."

"Just...what kind of crap have you been through." Gwen asked.

Further conversation was cut short as Shaw sounded his boat to warn the people.

"Just how many times does that doofus think I'm gonna fall for this?"

Altera narrowed her eyes as she realized something was actually wrong. The Kraken shot up roaring before bearing down on the dock, Altera quickly jumped out of the way with Gwen in tow as people and wood chunks were sent flying.

"That's not Ben." Altera corrects.

"I see it! The Kraken, it lives!" Shaw said.

"Sail now float later, someone's got to rescue those people." Max said turning to Ben.

Ben dove into the water and activated the watch setting it to the perfect alien for the occasion.

"Ripjaws to the rescue!"

Taking a deep breath and diving in he slammed on the watch, but he did not get the alien he wanted and resurfaced for air.

"Hey! I said Ripjaws! Not Accelerate! Stupid watch."

He looked on to see Gwen, Altera and a few other people swimming for their lives.

"Here goes nothing." Said Accelerate as his mask came down and sped off. It was difficult running on water as opposed to solid ground, but he adapted quickly and grabbed Gwen and Altera before they were snatched by massive jaws. Gwen was put to his back while Altera was carried bridal style, making it to the shoreline.

You guys ok?"

Coughing a bit they both looked at Ben and Altera responded.

"I think so."

"Thanks for the save." Gwen followed.

Accelerate quickly went back to saving more people in the water before the Kraken could snatch them.

"Get us out of here!" Shouted Jonah as his colleague started up the boat and began to get away.

This caught the Kraken's attention as it began to go after them. Intercepting their course and batting at them with its tail.

Accelerate came in front of the incoming Kraken and used his speed to create a whirlpool to scare it off, it came back however and went after a crate that said canery on it. Jonah ran up and latched onto the crate as it was dragged and Accelerate assisted by forcing the tendril off the crate. It went in again but Accelerate ran under it and sent rapid fire kicks forcing the Kraken to retreat.

"Thanks for the hand, and the feet." Said Jonah.

Accelerate retracted his mask and spoke.

"What's so important in that crate, that you risked your life for it?"

"Uh. Our lunch." Jonah said hesitantly.

"You almost got munched, for a few sandwiches?"

Suddenly a tendril shot up and managed to successfully get the crate, Accelerate was gonna go after it but the watch was starting to time out.

"Oh! Sorry, got to run!" And he sped off.

"Almost there, I think I'm gonna..."

To late, he reverted back to human before he could reach the boat and sprawled along the surface of the water before righting himself.

"Make it."

"Man overboard! Shaw! Ben is overboard, bring the boat around!"

Shaw who was aiming a harpoon looked back then faced the retreating Kraken.

"Next time your in my sights you won't be so lucky."

Night fell, and tourist were evacuating the lake area.

"See, I told you so, that was the same thing that tried to munch me last night, Captain Shaw and I were right." Ben said as he was wrapped up in a blanket by a fire.

"Ben, just because he was right about the kraken, doesn't mean I was wrong about him, now I want you to stay away from that guy, he's trouble." Max warned.

"You're just being stubborn."

"Yeah don't you just hate people like that?" Gwen said.

"We'll leave this to the experts Ben, like those Froends of Fish guys."

"Experts? Who better to catch a lake monster that the guy with a monster busted on his wrist?" Ben responded.

"I'm afraid this is gonna have to be, the one that got away son."

Shaw appeared not long after not looking happy.

"Low down no good fish kissers."

"Captain Shaw, what is it?" Ben asked.

"The nerve of those enviro punks. They shut down the entire lake, nobody tells me where to sail, and nobody's gonna stop me from reeling in the catch of the century. Nobody."

With that Shaw walked off.

"We'll be in the Rustbucket to get ready to sleep, we'll be gone from here come morning." Max said as he and Gwen stepped inside.

Ben stayed where he was and sat back down. Thoughts crossing his mind, he then felt a presence next to him.

"Altera..."

"Ben."

It was quiet, Ben not trying to spare a glance at the likely alien girl.

"A Kraken huh? I thought such a legend was only of the Scandinavian region, much less one being in a lake as opposed to open sea." Altera mused.

"Are you still mad? I didn't mean to disrupt your sleep that bad."

"It wasn't something so petty as just that, it's your immaturity that worries me." Altera said.

Ben looked at Altera, curious and slightly offended but listened in.

"Ever since you got that watch a responsibility was placed upon your shoulders, one that should not be brought onto someone so young, already in your quest to be a hero, you made an enemy, and if those machines that attacked us the night we met are any indication then you already have one from the start the moment it latched onto your wrist. I get it, your ten years old with a lot of childhood to experience, but that has changed drastically, there's not a moment where one day might be your last, you have to grow up sooner. I only tell you this out of care, Ben, after all, we are friends, aren't we?"

Ben didn't respond right away, but Altera's words resonated in his head.

"You know, the way you're talking is like you're older than me or something."

Altera didn't respond, truth be told what Ben said was true, she was way older than him. More experience and had multiple memories of different experiences in her mind that flooded into her upon her incarnation to life anew, but she didn't want someone as young and naive as Ben to know the truth for a long time.

"Thank you for saving me a second time, I need to be careful not to be too indebted to you Ben."

"Hey, at least you're not Kraken chow, loosing you like that would have been some stupid rotten luck."

XXX

"AACHHOOOO!!!"

"Mikooon!! Touma are you ok? Goodness you almost scared the fluff off my tail."

"I'm fine Tamamo, nothing to worry about, but I had the strange feeling someone somewhere knew my signature phrase...uuugh, why is it even my signature phrase, what rotten luck."

"Oh don't fret too much about it. Here why don't you just lay down on my lap."

XXX

"So...what are you going to do now, hero?"

Ben gained a determined expression on his face and stood up dropping the towel.

"I'm gonna get to the bottom of this, that is, if you want to help."

Altera looked at Ben as she stood up.

"Your grandfather is not gonna be happy." Altera said with a small smile.

"A small price to pay for being a hero."

Ben stuck out his right fist towards Altera confusing her.

"It's a fist bump, ever done one before?"

Altera raised her own fist and met Ben's.

It was foggy over the lake, the fishing town was mostly abandoned. A lone boat had set sail despite the restrictions.

"Come on Ben! What did you do fall in?" Gwen said as she pounded on the door to the bathroom. Max came up and found he was not there and it dawned on him that Altera wasn't around either.

Shaw's boat was sailing along when he heard wrestling behind him.

"Hey! No stowaways on my boat, even if you are a filthy rat."

Taking an ore he lifted the cover to reveal Ben and Altera hiding underneath.

"Uh, first mates Tennyson and Altera reporting for duty? Sir."

After explaining that Altera was a friend with his family who wanted to help, especially to avoid misunderstandings Shaw let them come along.

"She's been chased deep by our fishy friends, the only way to lure her out, is live bait." Shaw said as he put on a diving suit.

"Maybe one of us can go with you, you know, just in case." Ben offered.

"No need, I got my dive buddy right here." Shaw said as he pulled up a harpoon gun.

"Wish me luck."

And with that Shaw dove into the water. Ben looked over and saw a spare diving suits, he exchanged a brief glance with Altera.

Meanwhile Shaw was swimming about as schools of fish swam by, he looked around and spotted a wreck of cargo nearby and swam directly too it. Upon getting close he found a round object, it looked like an egg. He was then startled by a piece of seaweed floating by but then felt something was coming his way. Turning around he saw a figure swimming towards him and fired his harpoon gun causing the figure to evade and reveal itself to be Altera in a full dive suit. She quickly signals Shaw to be calm when he notices Ben come in as well, and proceed to signal the two of them to take a look at the egg and proceeded to swim up to the surface, he noticed there was another boat next to his, armed with a mounted .50 caliber gun.(AN: let's be real, they were called harpoons in the show cause it's supposed to be a kids cartoon but we all know what they actually are.)

Shaw climbed the latter to his boat only to be picked up and thrown aboard. Three figures in high tech body suits approach him.

"Don't you know night diving is dangerous old timer. Unless of course, you went with a friend."

"I work alone, I have no friends." Shaw responded.

"And with a sparkling personality like yours."

"I haven't found anything worth stealing either."

"Oh, but you have us all wrong, all we want is some information, like what did you see down there?"

"Nothing, same as always." Said Shaw.

This earned him a punch to the face knocking him out, the one who did it took off his mask to reveal it was Jonah.

"Well. I have to be sure."

Unknown to all parties, Altera and Ben surfaced to watch the whole exchange happen. Ben was gonna do something but Altera halted him telling him now was not a good time, and his watch was still charging.

"Take ahap here with us, find out if he knows anything back at the Canery, we'll come back here later with the mini subs to snag the rest of the eggs." Jonah said as he tossed some kind of marker device in the water.

"In the meantime, I think this boat just got lost at sea."

Tossing a charged explosive onto the fishing boat they set off as the explosion occurred, Ben and Altera swam trying to avoid the debris before resurfacing as the boat sunk.

Suddenly the watch emitted sound and went green signifying it was good to go.

"It's hero time."

Meanwhile the poachers were in there way when one of the men noticed something.

"Hey what is that? A bird?"

"Nah looks like a plane."

Defending upon them was Stinkfly who had Altera on his back.

"It's a bug! Man the guns!"

"Give it up! You are totally busted." Stinkfly said.

One of the men reached the front gun and open fired. Stinkfly evaded every shot before sending goop at the gunner and the rest of the armed crew. Jonah would unleash depth charges to the surface to explode immediately in an attempt to impede Stinkfly, one of the explosions uprooted a tree sending it falling into the bug alien's path and he hit the water with Altera in tow.

"Oh no! My wings are too wet for take off." Ben panicked.

"Heads up Ben, they're coming back around!" Altera warned.

True to her word the boat came back and Jonah upped the speed looking to ram them, Stinkfly was desperately swimming away with Altera holding on as a spotlight was put on them. The duo made it to a log and Ben was hoping for his wings to dry off faster. .50 caliber gunfire was once more on them as Stinkfly looked up to a branch up above.

"Hang on tight!"

He spat a large amount of goo from his mouth up to the branch and was shot upwards avoiding the gunfire as the attack boat cut through the log. Jonah had a light in his right hand and a pistol in the other. He then looked behind him to spot a fin going into the water.

"It's getting too crowded out here! Throw the trash overboard." He said pointing to Shaw.

"Stinkfly's wings finally dried off just in time as the tied up man was hurled into the water, only to be picked up, it was better to get back to shore for Shaw's safety.

"Almost there Ben." Altera said as the camper was shown.

Of course as fate would have it, like earlier in the day the watch began to time out.

"Not again."

Gwen was looking around with a pair of binoculars in hopes of spotting the missing duo.

"Any sign of Ben, Altera, or Shaw?" Max asked.

"Not yet."

They then heard the sound of flapping wings and beeping and looked up to see Stinkfly with Altera on his back carrying a tied up Shaw. The watch finally timed out completely reverting Ben to human while in mid air causing all three to fall directly onto the Rustbucket's awning, and Altera fell directly on top of Ben.

"Agh I hate when that happens." Ben said as he tried to get up only to see Altera on top of him, they both looked at each other for a moment before they backed off from one another, Ben sporting a heavy blush while Altera had faint traces of pink on her cheeks.

"And the Kraken's nest is full of eggs, no wonder she's been attacking everyone. Jonah must be stealing her eggs." Ben explained.

"And I think I know who Jonah is, I did a little digging on Friends of Fish and found out it's not listed on any official website. But I did find this. Jonah Melville isn't a friend to any kind of wildlife, he travels around the world poaching rare animals, then crates them up and sells them to private collectors." Gwen followed up showing her laptop.

"Crates them up...oh man! I bet that crate the Kraken took off their boat had her egg in it."

"Looks like we were both a little too hard headed." Max said.

"We're gonna have to stop them and soon, as long as those eggs are in danger the Kraken will continue to attack." Altera said.

"He said something about going back to a Canery." Ben said.

"Mommy or not, that beast is mine." Shaw said as he got up to leave.

"Let's go, I have a spare boat down at the docks."

"It will take awhile until the police can get here." Gwen said seated aboard a speed boat.

Shaw was finishing untying the boat when it sped off without him.

"What are you doing? Get back here!"

"Sorry Captain!" Ben responded.

"You don't know what your doing, a monsters is a monster, and I know a monster when I see one!"

He looked on as they kept going and looked over to see a rowboat.

Using a high tech suit Jonah clamped onto a crane hook, he was craned up with a Kraken egg to meet one of his subordinates wheeling in a capsule containing another egg.

"Careful! You drop that and you'll be cleaning up the world's most expensive omelette!"

"After we sell these babies to the highest bidder, we'll be sitting back on a beach in the Bahamas."

The speed boat had just arrived, Max and Gwen began to climb a latter.

"See if you can find the eggs." Ben said.

"What about you and Altera?" Gwen asked.

"We are gonna kick some friends of fish tail." Ben said as he dialed the watch slammed it becoming Ripjaws.

Out of nowhere the Kraken shot up and busted through the underside of the dock to confront the poachers.

"The bigger the Kraken, the bigger the payday."

Jonah got in his power suit as his subordinates fired on the creature to little affect. One of the men went into warehouse as the Kraken batted away the other and almost bit into Jonah who hung on the crane which moved him as he fired energy blasts at the creature.

Ripjaws shot through the water and upwards with Altera hanging on as he landed on Jonah's mech suit.

"You want to deal with a monster. Try me on for size."

While Jonah was busy with Ripjaws Altera freed the capsule with the eggs but accidentally dropped it to the dock below, the capsule broke but luckily the eggs were intact and rolled to the edge of a plank towards the water.

Max and Gwen were sneaking around the Warehouse and found one of the poachers going for a weapon. He signals her to sneak the other way and go for a pincer, but the poacher that was batted away was still alive and climbed up to spot them, aiming his pistol at them.

"Alright. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." Max said.

The amused poacher closed in on them as they backed up, only to be stopped as the tail of the Kraken busted through the wall alerting the other man.

"Go high!"

Max and Gwen jumped and latched onto conveyer handles as the tail once more sent the poacher into the lake. The other poacher came in with a heavy weapon but Gwen quickly subdued him.

"Is this the easy way, or the hard way?"

It was a race to get to the eggs, Jonah closed in when the Kraken scooped up the eggs with her tail.

"My eggs!" Jonah shouted.

He went after them but Altera and Ripjaws clung onto him. They prevented him from getting the eggs but knocked them off the Kraken's tail in the process.

"Not your eggs."

Ripjaws pushed Altera away after they landed in the water just as Jonah detached from the crane and landed on the fish alien sending him under.

"Rescuing babies, how heroic!" Jonah said as he punched Ripjaws into a daze to bypass him and grabbed the eggs.

Ripjaws went after him and caught him, a brief wrestle and he now had the eggs in his jaw. Of course this now made him a target for the Kraken that attacked him and reclaimed her eggs, but Jonah was on her tail. Jonah released an ultrasound attack disorienting the Kraken and snatched the eggs. Only for Ripjaws to intercept him, but Jonah slammed him into a boat wreckage, clamping Ripjaws down who took an anchor and hit him with it to get free before latching onto his mech arm to receive a shock for his troubles.

Ripjaws then swung the anchor around before hurling it and taking out one of the mech suits arms. The Kraken arrived and it became a three way struggle. Ripjaws managed to get the eggs back to the nest with the Kraken just behind him.

Jonah came in gunning for the eggs when the Kraken intervened and destroyed his suit, he drew a knife and attempted to stab it but it broke, he was about to be eaten when Ripjaws stopped it and went back to caring and guarding its eggs. Ripjaws would glare at Jonah who shrugged before getting knocked out.

He would then be hung up on a broken piece of wood sticking out of the surface.

"Hang here for a bit, until the police arrive, they'll have a nice dry cell for ya."

And just in time as they did arrive via boats.

"Heh, good riddance to bad rubbish." Max said as he, Gwen and Altera looked on from the dock.

"Heh, I finally got me a Kraken! One of the eggs must have hatched, haha imagine a trophy this big mounted on my wall." Came the voice of Shaw who rode in with Ripjaws caught in a net. One red flash and he was back to Ben.

"I think your catch of the day, isn't exactly as advertised." Max said.

Shaw took his light and shown it to see that Max was right as Ben looked on with a goofy smile to his confusion.

"But I could've sworn."

Altera looked at Ben's predicament and couldn't keep it in.

"Ahahahahaha-ahaha-aha-Ahahahaha!"

Ben was taken aback, this was the first time he heard her laugh ever. And if he was to be honest, she had a beautiful laugh.

The Tennysons and Altera were back on the road, morning was breaking.

"Hey, Ben?"

"What's up Altera?"

"Sorry I was not much help in your underwater battle."

"Ah don't worry to much about, it's not like you can just magically breath water." Ben waves off.

"Still, next time I'm gonna do what I can to be a better partner."

"What are you talking about? I couldn't have asked for a better partner than you."

Altera smiled as she held out her fist to Ben's surprise.

"It's a fist bump, ever done one before?" Altera teased.

Ben connected with Altera and the two shared a brief chuckle.

"You should laugh more often you know?"

AN: and that's it for this installment! Hope you enjoyed the read and I will see you next time!
