CHAPTER 41: UNLEASHED DARKNESS
"Master! Sweet Salazar!" Coilis began, his voice filled with concern and fear.
Harry clenched his teeth against the pain, his hand trembling as he attempted to staunch the bleeding. He tried to press the torn flesh together, but it refused to stay, curling back as if recoiling from his touch. The sight of his own flesh resisting him added to the excruciating torment.
Coilis fell silent as Harry gritted his teeth and focused, slowly and deliberately manipulating the torn skin. He forced it down over the wound, using every ounce of willpower to hold it in place despite the pain and resistance.
The effort was agonizing, but Harry knew he had to stem the bleeding and protect himself. He couldn't afford to be incapacitated, not with the looming threat of Death Eaters and the precarious balance of power at Hogwarts.
The room fell into an eerie silence, broken only by Suzie's trembling and Harry's seething anger.
"I-I swear, I didn't k—" Suzie stammered, her voice quivering in fear.
"Where did you learn that spell?" Harry's voice cut through the air like a blade, dark and furious. His emerald eyes, now nearly coal black with pain and rage, bore into Suzie with intense scrutiny.
"I—" Suzie started to explain, but Harry interrupted, his tone harsh and accusatory. "That spell was created by my own hand," he growled. "A spell crafted for death, you foolish girl!"
Theo interjected, his voice tinged with concern as he glanced at Harry's bleeding arm. "Wait, why would you invent something like that?"
"I—" Suzie began again, but Harry's accusation cut her off.
"You read my book," Harry accused sharply, tilting his head as he clenched his jaw in simmering anger. Waves of fury radiated from him, palpable in the charged atmosphere.
"You left it out!" Suzie shot back defensively, her voice rising as she pointed her wand once more. Harry remained motionless, his anger simmering dangerously.
In that moment, rage consumed Harry. Suzie had violated something deeply personal to him, taking what was his and using it without understanding the consequences. She had not just stolen knowledge; she had desecrated his intentions and ambitions.
Coilis hissed sharply, his form coiling with tension, while Daphne gasped audibly, her gaze fixed on the snake's glowing yellow eyes. The tension in the room was palpable, teetering on the edge of confrontation as Harry and Suzie stood locked in a standoff, their wands poised, the air thick with unspoken threats.
The tension in the room reached a fever pitch as Pansy whispered urgently to Daphne, trying to pull her away from the impending conflict.
"Don't do it, Harry!" Pansy suddenly shouted, her voice cutting through the charged atmosphere. Harry's and Coilis's heads snapped around in unison, their eyes narrowing with a dangerous intensity.
"I have tolerated this child long enough. Suzie will meet her end by my fangs!" Coilis hissed vehemently, baring his sharp teeth. Despite his companion's fierce declaration, Harry remained silent, his attention fixed on Suzie who stood pale, trembling, and gasping for breath.
"I am done with you, Suzie. Done dealing with you and your bloody brother David all these years," Harry growled, his wand returning to its holster as he clenched his fist tightly.
"How did you know about Dav—" Suzie began, but she flinched when Coilis emitted a loud, menacing hiss.
"I am sick of your arrogance and sick pleasures. But to say I'm disgusted would be hypocritical," Harry continued, a bitter laugh escaping him. His smile turned sadistic, sending a shiver through those watching.
"Obsidian, that's enough," Theo interjected, drawing his wand cautiously. Daphne shook her head, apprehensive of Coilis's readiness to strike.
"You've ruined my life, Suzie," Harry's voice lowered dangerously, his tone cutting like a blade. "Little Suzie with the pigtails, always taking from those you deemed weaker." He clicked his tongue disapprovingly, his smile twisting into a grim expression as Suzie instinctively backed away, her breathing quickened with fear.
The atmosphere in the room grew heavy with tension as Suzie, pale and trembling, confronted the figure before her.
"Who are you?" she breathed, her voice barely audible amidst the charged silence. Harry tilted his head and let out a chilling laugh, a sound that made Millicent whimper and Pansy wince involuntarily.
"You should know, Suzie. I almost killed you on the stairs those many years ago," Harry replied calmly, his complexion unnaturally pale from the loss of blood. The others in the room noticed, growing suspicious at his ability to remain conscious despite the injury, but they attributed it to his past involvement with vampire rituals.
"No," Suzie whispered, realization dawning on her as she finally recognized who stood before her. Harry tilted his head slightly, a small, cruel smile playing on his lips.
"I'm going to kill you, Suzie. I've been waiting to for ten years," Harry stated matter-of-factly, his eyes flashing with the dark, sinister green that Shadow was infamous for.
"Harry, this is enough," Daphne demanded, her voice firm as she stepped forward with her wand raised, staring directly into Harry's unwavering gaze.
Harry didn't flinch or break eye contact. Instead, he opened his mouth slightly and flicked his tongue in a gesture that conveyed utter disregard for the gravity of the situation and those around him.
"Coilis? Kill her," Harry commanded with chilling finality.
"With pleasure," Coilis hissed, his form coiling with predatory intent.
The room fell silent, filled only with the menacing tension as Coilis prepared to strike, and Harry stood resolute, his decision clear and his demeanor unyielding in the face of the impending act of vengeance.
As Coilis prepared to strike, the tension in the room became almost palpable. Suzie's eyes widened in terror as she realized the gravity of the situation. She backed away slowly, her wand trembling in her hand, but there was no escape from the impending confrontation.
Daphne's voice rang out again, desperate to diffuse the escalating violence. "Harry, stop this! Think about what you're doing!"
Harry's gaze remained fixed on Suzie, his expression cold and unyielding. The dark aura that surrounded him seemed to intensify, casting a shadow over the room.
"Coilis, wait!" Daphne pleaded, her voice filled with urgency as she tried to intervene, but Harry's command had already set events in motion.
Coilis, with a sinuous grace, lunged forward with deadly intent. His fangs gleamed menacingly as he aimed for Suzie, who let out a piercing scream of terror.
In that split second, before Coilis could strike, a burst of magic erupted from Theo's wand. "Expelliarmus!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the room.
The spell hit Harry's wand arm with precision, causing him to involuntarily release his grip. His wand clattered to the floor, breaking the intense concentration that had enveloped him.
"Harry, snap out of it!" Theo demanded, his voice urgent and commanding. He moved swiftly between Harry and Suzie, his wand still trained on Harry, ready to defend if necessary.
Harry stood frozen, the haze of anger and vengeance slowly dissipating. He blinked several times, as if awakening from a trance, and looked around the room at the shocked and fearful faces of his friends and allies.
Daphne rushed to Suzie's side, helping her to her feet and casting a quick healing charm on her trembling form. "Are you okay?" she asked softly, concern evident in her voice.
Suzie nodded weakly, still visibly shaken by the close encounter. She glanced fearfully at Harry, who now stood with his head bowed, grappling with the aftermath of his dark outburst.
The room remained tense and silent, the air thick with unresolved emotions and the lingering threat of violence. Harry's actions had left a chilling reminder of the darkness that dwelled within him, a darkness that could be unleashed with devastating consequences.
The room plunged into chaos as Harry's actions unfolded in a horrifying sequence. Daphne's voice, firm and commanding, cut through the turmoil.
"Harry, this is enough," she stated resolutely, her wand poised and ready to act if necessary. She watched him with a mixture of concern and fear, noting the haunted look in his eyes and the trembling of his pale, angry form.
Before Harry could respond, a strange hissing sound emerged from his lips, unintelligible and eerie. "Hissayas," he murmured, his tongue flicking nervously as he quickly turned to witness Coilis striking Suzie, sinking his fangs deep into her arm. Suzie's gasp of pain echoed through the room, followed by the screams of others caught in the chaotic scene.
Theo reacted swiftly, lunging towards Harry in an attempt to restrain him. However, another hissing command, sounding like "hrishaa's!", filled the air, and Morsus, another serpent, coiled and hovered menacingly, poised to strike.
Harry blinked in confusion, his actions seeming beyond his control as he watched Theo struggle against the threat of Morsus. Uncertainty and turmoil gripped him, contrasting sharply with the panic and chaos around him.
Theo, his voice dark and commanding, demanded, "Stop this, Harry." His narrowed eyes bore into Harry, urging him to regain control over the dangerous situation unfolding.
Meanwhile, Pansy and Daphne, with determination etched on their faces, focused on subduing Suzie amidst her cries of suffering and pain. The room remained tense and fraught with uncertainty, the aftermath of Harry's actions casting a dark shadow over everyone present.
The tension in the room reached a breaking point as Harry's sickly grin spread across his face, a chilling expression of malice and satisfaction. His eyes, filled with sadistic intent, scanned the chaos around him, settling on Morsus, who seemed to respond with a hiss of his own.
"I had every right, and she deserved it," Harry muttered darkly, his words laced with a venomous certainty. Before anyone could react, a fist suddenly connected with Harry's jaw, snapping his head back with a hiss of pain.
Theo recoiled, wariness etched into his features as Harry's response became more primal. A guttural hiss escaped Harry's throat, his eyes flashing with a lethal intensity.
"Idiot!" Blaise shouted, drawing his wand in a defensive stance. However, before he could utter a single spell, Harry acted swiftly. He pointed his wand towards the ceiling, his voice cold and commanding.
"Obliviate!"
A pulse of magic surged from Harry's wand, filling the room with a brilliant light. In an instant, the chaotic scene froze as the spell took effect, erasing the memories of the recent events from everyone present.
The tension dissipated as confusion replaced the intense emotions that had gripped them moments before. Daphne and Pansy blinked, disoriented but sensing that something significant had occurred. Suzie, clutching her injured arm, looked around in bewilderment, her previous pain and fear momentarily forgotten.
Theo glanced at Harry with a mix of concern and suspicion, unable to recall the precise chain of events that had led to this moment. The room fell into an uneasy silence, each person grappling with the aftermath of what had just transpired.
Harry stood among them, his expression unreadable as he inwardly wrestled with the consequences of his actions. The air was thick with unspoken questions and lingering tension, a testament to the fragility of their world and the darkness that threatened to consume them all.
As the brilliance of the Obliviate spell faded, Harry lowered his wand slowly, the gravity of what he had done settling heavily upon him. His mind raced with conflicting emotions, but outwardly, he remained stoic and composed.
Theo, still wary and uncertain, exchanged glances with Blaise and Daphne, silently communicating their shared confusion. Pansy helped Suzie to her feet, casting a gentle healing charm on her arm to alleviate the pain. The room was filled with a palpable tension, each person grappling with the fragments of memory and the unsettling aftermath of Harry's outburst.
Daphne approached Harry cautiously, her gaze searching his face for any sign of remorse or explanation. "Harry, what happened?" she asked softly, her voice tinged with concern.
Harry's expression remained guarded, his eyes flickering with unresolved turmoil. He hesitated for a moment, weighing his words carefully before responding. "I... lost control," he admitted quietly, his voice tinged with self-disgust. "I let my anger get the better of me."
Theo stepped forward, his tone cautious yet firm. "That was more than just losing control, Harry," he remarked, his eyes narrowing slightly. "You were... different. It was like something else was guiding your actions."
Harry's jaw clenched, a flicker of unease passing through his features. "I don't know what came over me," he confessed, his voice strained. "But whatever it was, it's not something I can let happen again."
Blaise, still on edge from the sudden turn of events, spoke up tentatively. "What about Suzie?" he asked, glancing at the girl who was now being comforted by Pansy. "What are we going to do?"
Harry's gaze shifted to Suzie, his expression hardening momentarily before softening with a hint of remorse. "We... we can't undo what's been done," he murmured, his voice tinged with regret. "But we can make sure nothing like this happens again."
Daphne nodded solemnly, her eyes reflecting a mix of empathy and concern for Harry. "We need to find a way to control whatever... influence is affecting you," she suggested gently, placing a reassuring hand on his arm.
Harry nodded silently, his mind already racing with thoughts of how to prevent such a loss of control in the future. The weight of responsibility settled heavily upon him, a reminder of the dangers posed by his own inner darkness.
The room remained tense and uneasy, the echoes of the recent turmoil lingering in the air. They stood together, united by their shared experiences and the daunting realization that their world had just become even more precarious.
