Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or Highschool DXD
For those waiting for the bulk update for One's inner dragon, that is still coming. It's just that I got a review that was a monumental help but caused me to have to rework a pivotal chapter. If you want to know when they will be uploaded. It will be the Monday after this upcoming one. So not this Monday, but the next. This will give me time to finish it up and proofread it (life is slowing me down a lot). And the update will be, the first chapter will be uploaded on Monday, the next chapter will be on Tuesday, then Wednesday, and finally thursday. Hope you look forward to it.
After that bulk update, I plan on taking a tiny break. I've been close to burning my story writing out and life is putting a lot on my shoulders. After which, I will be working on "A nice hotel to haunt".
NOW
The reason I am making this is that I suddenly wanted to read a fic with these two fandoms but I remembered that the ones that I found some time ago weren't the things I was looking for. Each of the fics with these two fandoms have it where Danny is already part of the dxd world. He is either a devil himself already or part of a devil clan. This will be different from those.
I hope you enjoy reading this. There are more author notes at the bottom but that is for after you read the chapter.
Chapter 1: Acceptance
There was a time when Danny thought that ghosts were the only new thing that would enter his life, but the actions of those outside forces are going to change everything he knew….. and potentially give him another existential crisis.
It was late in the day as Danny and his friends were walking down the sidewalk.
"Tucker, it's not like we get anything out of doing this ghost hunting." Danny shook his head as Tucker commented, suggesting that they should be famous for protecting the town.
"I'm just saying, with all the stuff we do, you would think the ladies would be all over me." Tucker said as he spread his arms out, almost expecting some female to hug him. He was brought out of his fantasy when Sam slapped him upside the head.
"Problem with your fantasy is that no one knows we do it. Not to mention that Danny is the one that does most of the work now, we're just support
It had been over a year since Danny first got his powers and they started ghost-fighting as the ghost portal began to let ghosts come out.
Since then, the three have changed their appearance over time but have stuck with something that didn't deviate far from their older style.
Sam now let her hair down as it now reached her shoulders. She kept her usual shirt that showed her midriff but she now wore a dark purple jacket with its sleeves rolled up. She wore a belt that held up her new black skirt, which had barely visible dark purple flames on her right hip. Her purple stockings now only reached halfway up her thigh, revealing some skin. She still wore combat boots but it now had a dark purple line up the side.
She made sure to stick to her style as a way to rebel against her parents and their peppy way of life. They nearly had a heart attack when they saw her put on the jacket.
Tucker now wore a yellow hoodie instead of a shirt, and his pants were now baggier and had more pockets that he stuffed with more tech.
Tucker wasn't that imaginative in changing his look much.
Danny's style did change a bit. His pants were a darker blue that had a side pocket aside from the typical normal pockets. His shirt now had an onyx color bar that went around his torso, but the rest was the same, the same color and the same red dot in the center of his chest. And he now had a hoodie of the same white as his shirt but the hood was the color of the red dot and the sleeves were dark blue and had a zipper that could change them to be either long sleeve or short sleeve. He typically kept them short-sleeved.
Danny nodded in agreement with Sam. "Can't be famous if no one knows you do anything."
Tucker slumped as he could see where they were coming from. "Man, it's so unfair."
Danny patted Tucker on the back reassuringly. "Don't worry, Tuck, maybe one day we will get the fame we deserve."
Sam rolled her eyes. "More like you will. You're the ghost hero."
Danny chuckled before waving his hand dismissively. "I got a taste of being the center of attention, it is more trouble than anything else."
Tucker stood back up straight. "You just need to find the right kind of attention."
Danny rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say, Tuck."
They made it to the corner of Danny's street before Sam stopped and put her hands on her hips. "Alright, I'll talk to you guys later, maybe beating you guys at DOOM."
Tucker put his fists on his hips and puffed out his chest. "Not this time! I know that we are gonna beat you into the ground!"
Sam smirked at this. "We'll see." She then turned to Danny. "Catch ya later, Danny."
Danny nodded before he high-fived Tucker. "Yeah, I'll catch ya guys on Doom." He waved his friends bye before heading inside. Once at the door, he looked at the mailbox that hung on the wall and saw it had the flag up, signifying that they had mail. He reached into it and pulled out the envelopes before going through them.
He was always the one to get the mail as his parents would most likely not notice that they had mail as they would usually run inside as they wanted to get to their lab for something or were too deep in thought to care about the mail.
Jazz wouldn't get the mail as she would most likely be reading a psychology book to even notice the mail.
But Danny didn't mind grabbing it since it gave him the chance to do something.
"Hmm, for Mom and Dad from the electric company, most likely trying to get them to use their own power grid rather than our refueling Ecto generators. One for Jazz, most likely about the things she needs or some other super smart mumbo jumbo that she'll tell us about later." He paused as he saw one that made him frown. "From DALV." He gave it a flat expression before he held it in his right hand with the others in his left and waved it nonchalantly in the air as he spoke in monotone. "Oh, what could DALV want from us?" The letter then went up in green flames before its ashes were blown away by the wind. "Oh, no~. The letter was lost in transit. I'm sorry, DALV, we never received your notice." He chuckled at his little skit before he went back to looking at what else they got in the mail. "Sorry, Vlad, but nothing you have to offer is worth it." He flipped through a few more envelopes before pausing as he found one for him. "Hmm, what's this?"
It was an envelope that had some decorative corners but no return address. He turned it over but there was nothing else about it, other than a wax stamp holding it closed. He shrugged and walked into the house so he could put the letters down and see what it was.
When he went inside, he saw Jazz sitting in the living room reading a book. He knew that she would not want to be bothered as she read cause it would "ruin her flow" or something like that. He moved over to the kitchen and put the mail on the counter as he sat at the table to see what the letter was about.
He opened it and saw it wasn't much of a letter and began to read it. After a minute, Danny stared at the letter in his hand as if it was the most unbelievable thing that he had ever seen in his life…. and he fights ghosts on a daily basis. "What the hell is this!?"
Jazz dropped the book she was reading in shock as she heard her brother shout. Thinking that something was wrong, she jumped off the couch and ran towards the kitchen. "Danny, what is it?" She didn't get a response from him and saw that he was staring at something in his hand. She saw the stack of mail on the table and figured that he was reading something that arrived for him.
She knew that Danny had just come back from hanging out with Sam and Tucker as it was Saturday and there were no ghost attacks that would cause everyone to be on alert.
She walked over to him to see what it was he was reading. Since he wasn't reacting to her approach, she looked over his shoulder and began to read it out loud.
[To, Daniel Fenton,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to be part of an overseas educational program where you will be allowed to attend our prestigious school: Kuoh academy.
This is a new program that we have established in order to allow young ones the opportunity to experience new perspectives this program offers.
All matters regarding your admission and accommodations have already been completed so there is no need to worry about payment or any paperwork.
We hope you look forward to your time at the academy.
For more information, please go over page 2]
Jazz stared wide-eyed at the letter Danny had as she couldn't believe that her brother had been given a letter of admission to an academy. "What the heck?!"
Her exclamation snapped Danny out of his shock and he looked over his right shoulder only to find Jazz's head right there. "Woah!" He leaned away from Jazz and found himself falling out of his seat as the letter in his hand flew in the air.
Jazz caught the letter out of the air and reread it to make sure that she didn't misread it.
Danny put a hand on the table to help him off the ground before he propped his head and arms on the tabletop to look up at his sister. "What the heck, Jazz, did you have to pop up out of nowhere?"
Jazz lowered the letter and looked at her brother. "You're the one that shouted out and got my attention. I called out to you but you just sat there as if you were frozen in time." She looked back at the letter as she continued to speak to her brother. "But what is this? Why are you getting a letter of acceptance to this academy?"
Danny gave a glare, but not toward his sister. "You tell me! I didn't sign up for any school program or whatever this thing is telling me." He got up from the ground and moved over to his sister as he took the letter back and looked it over.
Jazz eyed the letter before looking at her brother. "You think this is some sort of prank or something?"
Danny scowled at the thought and looked over the letter for anything that would tell him that this was a scam or something. After a minute, he just slapped the paper on the table. "I don't know. This thing looks all fancy and official but I don't know anything about this."
Jazz picked up the paper and frowned. "If this is official, why you and not me?" She herself was about to head over to a highly-rated college soon since she had graduated but she still had to ask why.
"Hey!" He gave her an indignant frown at the implication.
Jazz held up her hands in surrender. "I don't mean anything about it…." She looked at the paper again as she continued. "It's just that I'm the one with the top grades, high marks in multiple subjects, and a bright future. Shouldn't they be asking me to go to their prestigious school?"
Danny gave her a flat look as he swiped the paper out of her hand. "Gee, thanks, Jazz. It's clear that getting the dumb one of the pair is just exactly what they wanted."
Jazz winced as she realized how her words could be taken.
Actually, the only way they can be taken.
"Sorry, Danny, I guess I got caught up in the word prestigious that I couldn't help but let that little bit out."
"Let what out?"
Both Danny and Jazz looked to the stairs that led to the lab to see their parents walking into the kitchen.
Maddie was the one that asked the question and she looked at her kids, waiting for one of them to answer her since she was curious about what it was her kids were shocked about. She could hear them from the lab, which was a feat since the lab was built to keep sound out and in.
Though the door was open so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Danny looked back and forth between the paper and the parents and started to feel a bit more hopeful as he was sure that his parents wouldn't let him go off to someplace that none of them knew about. He got up and walked over to them and handed the paper over to his mother. "I got this thing in the mail and I don't get why!"
Maddie took the paper and looked it over.
Jack read it over Maddie's shoulder as he was also interested in what it was that Danny got in the mail.
Danny and Jazz watched as their parents' eyes shifted left and right as they read the letter.
Maddie looked up before looking around till she saw another piece of paper on the kitchen table that was clearly the second page. She walked over and picked it up before reading it.
Jack looked at his son with a frown. His eyes shifted from him to Jazz and asked no one in particular. "Why aren't they asking for you instead?"
Danny grew frustrated at how, once again, he was reminded about how smart Jazz was and how his parents, specifically Jack, clearly favored Jazz over him. "Wow, thanks for bringing me lower than I was before." He chose to ignore his father for now and looked to his mother and waited for something out of her. He saw that she was in deep thought and he didn't like the waiting and figured that he could get the ball moving so that he could throw away the letter and just keep going with his normal life.
Normal… right.
Danny walked up to her and spoke. "Can you believe this? This has got to be some kind of mistake or something."
Maddie narrowed her eyes on the paper for a few seconds before she smiled brightly. "This is great!"
Danny blinked three times. "What?"
She turned around and hugged Danny's head into her chest.
Danny blinked a few times as he wasn't sure he was getting what his mother was implying.
Maddie began to shift left and right while still holding onto Danny's head. "Oh, Danny, I am so proud of you for getting into a prestigious academy! Just think how far you can go if you get an education from there!"
Danny was glad he didn't need to breathe as much as a normal person cause he wasn't sure if any normal person could survive being suffocated and swung around like this, but his mind was going over what his mother just said and he needed to know what she was thinking. He pushed himself from her before he looked at her with shocked eyes. "Wait, you WANT me to go to this academy?!"
Maddie looked at her son and gave him a look that said that she didn't understand what the problem was. "Of course. This is a chance that not many get and going to a well-established school could open so many possibilities for you. Why wouldn't I want one of my kids to have a chance like this."
Danny couldn't believe it. He was hoping that his mother would deny this wholeheartedly and he could toss the letter in the trash before he went to his friends and told them about it so they could laugh about it. But here he was, looking at his mother as if she had grown a second head, hearing that she approved of this. "uh…"
Maddie looked over to Jack and smiled. "Can you believe it, Jack, our son is going off to an academy?"
Jack smiled back at her before he nodded. "That's right, our boy is heading off to make a name for himself." He moved over to her and brought his arm around her. "This calls for celebratory fudge!" He began to walk away with Maddie going with him.
As they walked away, Maddie put the papers on the table before looking up at Jack. "We should think about what Danny should pack for his trip. I think I can set up some of my portable shrinking suitcases for him so he can talk as much as he can. It is a long trip." Before they left the room entirely, Maddie wondered out loud. "I wonder why Danny got the acceptance but not Jazz."
The two teens watched as their parents left the room and remained silent for a few minutes.
Danny blinked a few times with his mouth wide open as he could not believe that his parents just went along with this. "What the hell?!"
Jazz got out of her stupor before smiling at her brother. "Hey, maybe this is a good thing. Like they said, this could be a great opportunity for you. Like they say 'When opportunity knocks, you answer'."
Danny gave her a flat look as he sarcastically stated. "And I can't wait to be the punchline." He trudged over to the table as he thought about what he could do to get out of this. He really didn't want to go to some academy he had never heard of before. "Where even is this school anyway?"
Jazz brought up a finger as if she was lecturing someone. "Academy, Danny, not a school."
Danny rolled his eyes at his sister's correction. "Same thing." He picked up the second page and began to read it.
Jazz chose to ignore that and continue. "And I'm sure that it isn't that far. Maybe it's a new branch school they built in town. Or maybe it's in the next town over since it might be affiliated with ours since they accepted you to transfer to their school."
"JAPAN!"
Jazz felt her ears ring from the volume but she stood still as she was stunned silent at the location. "...oh."
After Jazz tried to ease Danny from his shock, he made his way to his room with the letter and he was starting to really freak out.
He was pacing back and forth in his room as he still couldn't understand what the reason for the letter was. His mind tried to think of any sort of agreement he might have made but nothing popped up.
He paused his pacing when he heard his computer ping and knew that must be his friends inviting him to their Doom game. He didn't realize that he was pacing for a while and moved to his computer. He saw the chat box asking if he was going to jump on. He stared at it for a minute before he typed.
[Need to meet with you guys tomorrow. Gotta talk about something.]
Danny stared at the box, waiting for their answer.

[Chaos: Nasty burger 10 AM]

[FriarTuck: Sweet! Nasty breakfast burger!]
Danny felt some reassurance that they were willing to hear him out tomorrow morning. He told them that he wouldn't join them before he turned off his computer and moved to his bed. His mind was chaotic right now so he wouldn't be able to play well. He flopped onto his bed and buried his face in his pillow. "What the hell is going on?"
~Next day~
"I've never even heard of this school before." Came Sam's indignant cry as she looked at the letter that Danny brought over. She sat across from the boys with a salad in front of her as she read the letter.
They met up at the Nasty Burger at the time Sam suggested before Danny told them about the letter and how his parents were all for him going to the school.
Danny took a bite out of his burger as he gave Sam a flat look. "Really? I would figure you would know about it since it's some fancy school." He wasn't as panicky as before, which allowed him to eat his breakfast burger normally.
Sam growled as she slammed the paper on the table. "Just because I'm rich, doesn't mean I know everything fancy and full of money." She grabbed her salad before she began to eat it grumpily as if it was the salad's fault.
Tucker took a large bite of his juicy all-meat burger as he reached for the paper. Before he could touch it, his hand was hit by Sam's fork. "Ow, hey!"
Sam pointed her fork at his hand. "Don't touch the paper with those greasy hands."
Tucker looked at his hand and saw that it was dripping in sauce and grease. He shrugged and began to put his fingers in his mouth, one after the other, and licked off what he could.
Sam made a face before she looked at her fork and gave a disgusted sneer. She put the fork down as she was not gonna use it after it touched something greasy, and decided to leave her salad for later. She picked up the paper and looked it over. "You sure this isn't some sort of scam from the Fruitloop? A way to get you out of the way for some sort of scheme of his?"
Danny leaned back in his seat and thought about it for a second before shaking his head. "Nah, doesn't seem like his style. If this was one of his schemes, he would throw in some clue or blatant sign to tell me that it was him. He leaned on the table with his arms and pointed at the paper. "He would have sent the letter in his DALV envelope or have it say on the letter it was endorsed by DALV. But nowhere is it said that it was him."
Sam picked it up again, scowling at it as she flipped the paper to look at the back but there was nothing there to tell them it was Vlad. "I don't like this. How do we even know if this school is real?"
Tucker took the last bite of his burger, wiping his hands before he reached into his pocket and pulled out his PDA. "What's it called again?"
Danny turned his head to see Tucker ready to look up the information. "Kuoh Academy."
As Tucker began to look up the information for the school, Sam looked at Danny. "You aren't really planning on going to this school, are you?"
Danny let out a heavy sigh as he ran his hand through his hair. "I don't know. My parents are all for it as they wouldn't stop congratulating me this morning and I took a beating harsher than when I fought Skulker with all the back 'pats' my dad kept giving me." He rubbed his right shoulder where his father's large hand kept hitting."
Sam frowned even more. "Danny, that-"
"Hello~, nurse."
Danny looked toward Tucker with a raised eyebrow. "Whatcha got?"
Tucker leaned over to Danny and showed the screen of his PDA. "Check this out, dude."
Danny looked at the screen and saw it slide through some images.
This was something that Tucker had been doing with his PDA over time. He keeps improving it with his tech know-how just so he doesn't have to give up his precious Delilah or Daina…. Or whatever he named it.
Tucker spoke in a giddy tone as his PDA continued to go through images. "Look at the uniform they have for the school.
Sam made a face at the mention of uniforms and leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms. "Oh, great, it's some corporate facility that is set to restrict any sort of individuality in all the students."
Danny rolled his eyes before he looked back at the PDA and could see what Tucker was focusing on. "Damn, that is something to see." He blushed as he saw how short the skirts were on the girls that popped up on the screen.
Sam raised an eyebrow at that statement. "What is it?"
Danny and Tucker remembered that Sam was here and they instantly rid themselves of the blush they had and sat up straighter. In tandem, they shook their heads and said. "Nothing."
Sam could tell that the two were hiding something but she was still angry at how Danny was going along with this. "Whatever. Danny, you can't just go off to this school! What are you gonna do if a ghost comes by to cause trouble?"
Danny groaned as Sam brought up something that was already on his mind and gave him anxiety. "I'm gonna get in contact with Dani and see if she can take up the job while I'm gone. Also, I have another idea that might work but I will see how it goes."
Sam raised an eyebrow. "What idea?"
Danny shook his head. "It's just an idea. If it doesn't work it won't matter and I will have to think of something else."
Sam frowned as it sounded like it was already decided that he would go. "Danny, come on, think of something that will keep you from leaving."
Danny slumped and laid his head on the table with his arms under his chin. "Sam, my parents are already packing everything for me and they wouldn't hear anything I say to them that would convince them that I don't want to go. My dad even told me that if I encounter any Japanese ghosts, I should capture them and send them over to him."
That caused Sam to slam her hands on the table as she leaned toward him. "JAPAN! IT'S IN JAPAN!?"
Danny jumped from the action and leaned back as far as he could. "Y-yeah, the school is in Japan….. I didn't mention it before?"
The look she gave him could have been felt through dimensions as she growled through her teeth. "No."
Tucker looked back at his PDA as he thought out loud. "That explains why there are those weird squiggles and why I can't read anything here." He went through a few more images before he looked at Danny as if he was just betrayed. "Dude, you gotta switch places with me! Let me go see all the ladies and all the cool tech they have. Pretty sure that all the ladies will appreciate me being there more than you."
Danny rolled his eyes as Tucker's self-centeredness was showing itself….. Again.
Sam huffed as she leaned back. "Maybe you can learn some culture while over there, Tuck."
Tucker gleefully smiled as he ran his hand over his beret. "Thanks." It took him a second before he realized that she was insulting him. "Hey."
Danny had a small laugh at that, getting his mood to lighten up. He took the paper once more and looked at it. "Well…. I don't know how I'm gonna get out of this one."
Sam looked at Danny and waved her hand at him. "Just don't go. It's as simple as that."
Danny shook his head. "Sam, the whole thing is already paid for and they are already waiting for me." He groaned as he hated how this was becoming a higher-up problem. "Didn't even let me know ahead of time."
Sam huffed as it seemed like Danny had already given up on not going. "I say we keep trying to find a way for you not to go."
Danny nodded as he folded the paper and put it in his pocket. "We have about a week before we reach the point of no return."
Sam sighed before nodding. "We're gonna get you to stay here, Danny."
Tucker gained a smirk as he put in his two scents. "And get me to take your place."
This time, Sam joined in with a small laugh as the three decided they would enjoy their breakfast before hanging out.
~five days later~
They weren't successful, unfortunately.
Danny's parents would barely listen to anything he would say. They would barely catch any snippet of what he said and twist it into something that states "Yes, I can't wait to go" when he clearly said, "Is there any way I can stay?".
Tucker tried to get into the school system of Kuoh to try and get Danny out of going….. and placing him in Danny's place. However, much to Tucker's shock and frustration, every time he tried something, it would just be undone seconds later. He ended up spending two days straight trying to hack into the system. He even asked Sam to get him the most high-tech PDA and computer system in order to get into the system and find out what was going on. Sam readily agreed and got him the items, but no matter what Tucker did, he couldn't beat whatever defense it had. He even started to think that the school may be some sort of government location that has the best tech defense to exist.
Which made him want to take Danny's place even more.
Sam had tried to get some info on the school to show that it is not as cracked up as it was advertised. But no matter what she did, it just kept sounding more and more like those high-class schools she hated the most. Which just made her want to keep Danny from going.
Now, Danny was sitting at his desk, with his head being held up by his fists that were on the side of his temples, staring at the letter as if it was one that would end his life. He had been here for the last hour, long before school even started, as he just had to get out of the house to get away from his parents who would not stop bringing up the point that he would be leaving the house to spread the Fenton name around the world. Not only that, they would bring up how Jazz should have gotten the letter instead, despite the fact she is literally about to go to the college of her dreams.
Danny was starting to think that his parents were also happy that they might get the house to themselves….. though that might just be his pessimism talking.
He was so out of it that his fights were even affected over the week. His mind was so focused on the letter and how he would have to leave his home undefended that even the box ghost got a hit on him. Sure it was just a box being thrown at him and he didn't go intangible, but still, it's the Box ghost.
Though that didn't even stop his mind still trying to think of a way to stay.
He didn't even realize other students were coming in as he was just in his own little world.
Every single student that came in had to pause when they saw Danny Fenton, THE Danny Fenton, was the first one here.
Not late.
Not tired.
Not beaten.
He was early!
Some of the students even bumped into the group in front of them when they stopped midstep. All of them wondered what chaos was gonna happen that day because of this event.
They all moved to their seats with all of them looking at Danny and noticing that he was staring at a piece of paper.
Groups even started to wonder what it was he was reading.
Some thought it was a notice of being expelled.
Some thought it was one that told him he would be held back.
Some thought it was one that told him he was sick with an incurable disease.
Some even thought it was an invite to some cult.
Danny still didn't even move when most of the seats were being filled and rumors began to spread about what Danny was looking at.
Sam and Tucker came into class and were surprised themselves to see that Danny was already there, but when they saw that he was looking at the damn letter, they figured that he was still hung up on it. They moved to their seats and figured that they could talk to him later when they were by themselves.
It was then that Mr. Lancer came into the class. Even he paused at the sight of Danny Fenton being here on time but he brushed it off as he still had some things that he had to get ready for so he went to his desk to put his supplies there.
Then the A-listers came in talking out loud, without a care in the world that they were just a minute from being late. Even when the bell rang, they continued to talk as they made their way to their desks.
The jocks hadn't changed at all with the only thing of notable difference was that Kwan now had a glasses case in his breast pocket as he used them for reading.
Kwan still wanted to be a scientist when he was older so he used them during his time of studying.
The cheerleader of the group did change up a bit.
Star now had her hair in a ponytail with a flower band, she wore a tank top that showed off her midriff and an orange skirt that reached halfway down her thigh. For her figure, she had only gotten taller with her hips getting slightly wider.
She would have complained about how she hadn't gained size to her breasts but Kwan told her that she was fine the way she was, which made her feel better to know that he didn't want her just for her body.
For Paulina, she didn't change her style of clothes since she stated: "Why change what's already perfect?" She did get a bit taller, with her hips becoming wider and gaining a cup size in her breasts. One thing she did alter about her clothing was that she got a shirt that had a deeper cut, allowing the top of her breasts to show.
Paulina walked by Danny and saw that he was looking at something. Gaining a smirk, she snatched away the paper, finally getting Danny out of his stupor, and held it up in the air. "What are you looking at, loser?"
Danny looked up at Paulina before standing up and reaching for the paper. "Hey, give me that!" He didn't get a chance to grab it from Paulina as Dash grabbed him from the back of his shirt and pulled him away from her.
"Watch it, Fenturd!"
Once she knew that Dash had him, Paulina looked at what Danny was looking at and read it out loud.
"To, Daniel Fenton, Loser" Most of the class chuckled at her little jab.
We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to be part of the loser society-" Paulina got a few more chuckles from the class before she continued. "-an overseas educational program where you will be allowed to attend our prestigious school: Kuoh academy." As she continued to read, her voice became less mocking and more of a soft slow shocked tone. "This is a new program that we have established in order to allow young ones the opportunity to experience new perspectives this program offers." She gripped the paper now with both hands as she finished up what it was saying. "All matters regarding your admission and accommodations have already been completed so there is no need to worry about payment or any paperwork. We hope you look forward to your time at the academy."
The class was silent by what they had just heard from Paulina and were frozen in place.
Sam and Tucker were the only ones that didn't freeze as they already knew.
Dash had let go of Danny due to his shock, in which Danny went and grabbed the letter from the Latina.
It was then that the whole class erupted in shouts as none of them could believe that Danny got a letter to allow him to go to some high-class school.
Sam grumbled as she hated how everyone was now aware of it and reminded her of Danny's leaving.
Tucker looked at Danny and gave an apologetic look as he figured that this was something he did not want.
After a few minutes of shouting, Mr. Lancer shouted out. "Gulliver's travels, people, calm down!"
Paulina snatched the paper away from Danny once again and waved it in the air as she glared at their teacher. "What is this, Mr. Lancer!? Why did this loser get something like this but we A-listers didn't?!"
This caused another bout of shouting with most of the students not realizing that Paulina basically said that they didn't deserve it while the A-listers did.
The man sighed as he sat in his seat. "We were not the ones that chose, it was Kuoh Academy's decision. We just went through the paperwork and necessary actions to allow his transfer."
Danny looked shocked at this information but after a second of thought, he realized that the school would obviously know about his transfer since there needed to be some sort of agreement to allow it. He was annoyed that they didn't bring it up with him but again, he realized that they wouldn't need to since Kuoh was the one who would bring it up with him.
He was suddenly pulled up and was now hanging in the air as Dash shook him.
"But why this loser-" He pointed at Danny before jabbing a thumb at himself. "-and not someone like me?! I bet they could use a quarterback like me on their football team."
Paulina put her hands on her hips as she gestured to herself. "Or me? I'm sure that the girls there would need tips on how to look almost as beautiful as me." She flipped her hair as if to emphasize her point.
The class began to shout out why they weren't chosen to go to this academy, saying they were better than Danny.
Mr. Lancer waited till they started to calm down a bit before he spoke. "It is not in our hands. They chose Danny Fenton and we cannot change their decision since it is almost time for him to start his transfer."
Danny dropped his head as he was starting to get frustrated. He didn't know what bothered him more, the fact that he was about to leave his home for some random school he didn't know about, or the fact that all his class knew and were saying that they would have been a better choice than him. Everything was happening and he just couldn't take it. "Oh, shut up!"
Everyone, including Sam and Tucker, froze at the shout.
Danny lifted his arms to slip out of his jacket before he turned around and snatched it from Dash's grasp. "You can all say that you are better than me or that you should be the one to go, but guess what, it isn't you, none of you were chosen, and all I keep hearing is 'me, me, me, me, me, me'!" He pointed at the A-listers. "Guess what, the world doesn't revolve around you! You guys act like you are the biggest thing ever, but all you have is that some of you are rich and the rest of you are jocks!"
Paulina, not liking how the loser weirdo of the school was talking to her, walked up to him and poked him in the chest. "Shut it, Fenton, you are just the loser from the weird family. You have no social status-"
"Oh, shut it, Paulina!"
Again, Danny made the class silent by shouting at Paulina.
"All you ever brag about is how pretty you are and how much money your dad has! Guess what, you aren't from the richest family in Amity Park!" he pointed to his side at Sam. "Sam's family has more money than yours but you don't see her bragging about it or making you look like the poor family!"
Sam stood up from her seat and shouted at him for telling everyone she was rich. "Danny!"
Danny didn't notice her shout as he continued. "You're pretty, but the world is full of cute girls, and unless you win a beauty contest with all the women in the world, you aren't the prettiest in the world!" His eyes then shifted to Dash and pointed at him. "And you! All you do is brag about being the jock of the school but that is all you have. Your homework is done by all the nerds that you bully! If it weren't for all the nerds doing your homework and projects, you wouldn't even be allowed on the team. Kwan is on the team too, but unlike you, he actually does all his work himself! Guess what, even professionals have an education and I can bet that they did their own stuff. If you don't get better, you're gonna end up miserable in life while every nerd you bullied-" He threw his arms in the air as he finished his rant "-will go on to live their lives happy and probably rich!" Once he was done, he lowered his arms and panted as he let out his frustrations, not only from the last few days but something he had been holding in ever since he started high school. After a minute, he lifted his head and looked at everyone to see that he was the center of attention. Once he realized this, he blushed in embarrassment as he sat down and put the letter away. He dropped his head on his desk and covered it with his arms.
Mr. Lancer came out of his shock before clearing his throat. "Alright, class, that was an interesting way to start this day and for Danny's transfer to be announced. Regardless, we have a lesson to get to so let's get to it."
Sam growled at how Danny just outed the fact that she was rich and shouted out to the others. 'How can Danny do that!? I can't believe it. He shouldn't have to go against everyone. All it's gonna do is get him in more trouble.'
As the class continued, everyone kept looking at Danny as if they couldn't believe everything that was happening that day.
Valerie, smirked as she looked back to the front. 'Wow, Danny, how long have you kept that inside?'
Danny felt both embarrassed and relieved. He had been holding in his frustration and this was the one time he was able to let it out. 'Hey, it's not like they will be able to do anything to me since I'll be gone in a few days…..' And his mood dropped again at that reminder. It was then that he remembered his secondary plan and he figured that he would do that tomorrow. It will be his last day and….. He guesses he might find some sort of acceptance for him about leaving.
~Next day~
"Thanks, Dani, I'll see you when I get back."
{You better. If I find out that you left already without saying anything to me, I'm gonna make you regret it.}
He smiled at how angry she was pretending to be. "I'm not leaving until tomorrow. With how fast you are, you should be able to get here around the time I finish up here. I'll see you soon."
{Yep, I'm heading there now.}
Danny heard her hang up before he looked at his phone and shook his head. "Ok….. that's done." He let out a breath as he looked at the swirling portal. He stared at it as if he felt that the moment he stepped in, it might be the final time he would ever do that.
He paused at that thought before shaking his head. "I sound like a guy heading to the gallows. I'm just gonna head to a new school." He walked toward the portal, ready to head in. "... away from my home, alone…in a new country." He paused one foot away as he dropped his head. "Damn it, I better get the chance to come back!" He transformed before jumping through the portal. "And that they are willing to help me."
His first stop?
Dora's kingdom.
It didn't take Danny long till he arrived at Dora's kingdom. He did pass several places that he needed to stop by, but he came here first because he was sure that he would get a positive result from Dora.
He landed at the edge of the lair and looked up at the castle just beyond the village. "Man, this place has changed a lot since the last time I came here."
Danny had helped Dora dethrone her brother, who was a tyrant to his people. Using his power over the realm, he kept everything in the medieval dark ages. Danny was able to get Dora to stand up to her brother and take the throne. Once she had taken down her brother in an epic dragon fight, she had gained control over the realm and dispelled the stagnant time the realm was in and things began to move forward. Unlike many other realms, the one that had power over it was the one that held the throne, so when Dora beat her brother with his help, she became the owner of the lair. Once that was done, Dora herself began to try and incorporate technology into the realm along with some modernization.
They started simple, such as replacing the huts that the villagers had with houses. They still hadn't reached the present house styles but they were better than what was before. Stone roads were now seen instead of dirt paths. And with how the simulated sun that this realm had was now able to spread light on everything in the realm, it was much livelier.
The ghosts of the realm, however, didn't give up their clothing style. Though, they were happy with it so there was no need to change it.
When Danny began to walk through the village heading towards the castle, a little ghost girl saw him and her eyes widened. He noticed her and saw that she was frozen in shock. "Uh.."
The little ghost girl smiled brightly before she ran up to him and bounced around his legs. "Sir Phantom, sir Phantom!
Many of the ghosts stopped what they were doing and looked toward the girl to see that Phantom was indeed there. Several of them slowly gathered around but kept some space between them.
Danny gave a nervous chuckle at the attention. "Uh, hi." The chatter was almost incomprehensible. He waited for a minute before he held his hands up to calm everyone down. "Thanks for the warm welcome, but I really need to talk to Dora as I've got something to ask her."
The little ghost girl smiled up at the mention of their ruler. "The queen will be happy to see you! Come on!" She floated up and grabbed his hand before she began to drag Danny toward the castle.
Danny chuckled as he allowed the girl to drag him with all the villagers parting to allow them to move.
It wasn't long till the two arrived at the drawbridge that would lead into the castle. Fortunately, the bridge was down with a couple of knights at the gate.
The knights raised an eyebrow at the coming pair but when they realized it was Phantom, they relaxed their guard and just allowed the two to enter.
Danny waved at the two as they moved past them. "Hey, Christopher! Hey, Bill!"
The two knights nodded in return as Danny and the girl flew through the entrance.
From the entrance of the castle, it was a straight shot toward the throne room.
It was amusing to the knights wandering the corridor between the entrance and throne room but they didn't do anything to stop the two.
The little girl dragged Danny into the throne room. "Queen Dorathea!"
Dora was looking at a window to the right of the throne before she turned toward the one who called her. The serene smile became wider as she saw Danny. "Sir Phantom, this is a surprise, what brings you here?"
Dora had changed her appearance since she had become queen. She now wore a shoulderless top of the same color as her previous dress with a dark brown corset. On her arms were detached bell sleeves held by a gold band. Her skirt was a dark aqua-blue color with sky-blue dragon designs at the hems. She kept her hair braided but now wore a gold circlet around her head.
Danny used his free hand to rub the back of his neck. "Well, I was dragged here by this one." He gestured toward the little girl who still had a smile on her face.
Dora floated high before slowly landing in front of the two. She knelt down to look the girl in the eye with a smile on her face. "Thank you for bringing Sir Phantom to me. I shall take care of things from here. And as thanks for bringing him here, I shall send you a Phantom plushie when I am able, alright?"
The little ghost girl beamed at the thought of her getting a Phantom plushie before nodding frantically. She looked up at Danny and smiled at him. Seeing him smile back, she let go of his hand before she flew out of the room gleefully.
The two watched the little girl leave before Dora looked at Danny.
Danny then turned to Dora with his arms crossed. "'Phantom plushie'?"
Dora put on an innocent smile before she spoke as if he said nothing. "Sir Phantom, it is a pleasure to see you again after some time, but I have a notion that this is not a personal visit." She folded her hands in front of her as she gave him a curious look.
Danny raised an eyebrow at her brushing off whatever that plushie thing was but he had more important matters. He sighed as he nodded. "I kinda wish it was but I came here to ask a favor of you."
Danny and Dora were floating through another hallway as Danny explained his current situation.
"Hmm, I can see how leaving your home might cause you some distress, and I am willing to aid you in any way I can but what is it you have in mind?"
Danny felt grateful that Dora was willing to help but this was still up to her if she would do it. "Well, I was hoping that you might guard the portal while I was gone in order to keep the ghosts from causing trouble." He felt his nerves die as he asked and began to panic. "But if you can't do it I understand. I'm sure that you are super busy now that you rule this kingdom and wouldn't be able to spare some knights. I also planned on asking some others to help on this and maybe they-"
Dora smiled fondly as she watched Danny begin to panic as he asked for her help. Feeling bold, she floated closer to him and pressed her lips on his cheek.
Danny froze at the action as he stared at her wide-eyed.
"You need not worry about this, Sir Phantom, I will gladly help you by guarding the portal to your home. Though I am saddened that you will be leaving for some time, I know it will not be the last time I see you."
Danny shook his blush away as he smiled at her for accepting his request. "I owe you for this, Dora."
Dora shook her head. "My Queendom owes you much, Sir Phantom, this is the least we can do. Though, you did say you would ask others to aid you in this. May I inquire who else you had in mind?"
Danny was grateful for this as this eased his worries a great deal. "Well-"
Danny and Dora continued to talk for a bit before he had to start heading off to his next destination. Just having Dora's knights guard the portal while he was away felt like a weight was removed from his shoulders but there could never be too much reassurance for this.
This is why he was heading to his next destination.
The Far Frozen
Danny landed on the soft snow that took the whole lair. He took in a deep breath as he enjoyed the cold air as it eased his tension. He looked up and was glad that it wasn't one of the stormy days the realm usually found itself in. Knowing that he shouldn't spend too much time admiring the realm, he began to walk toward the entrance that would lead deeper into one of the facilities.
A couple of Yeti guards got on alert when they noticed someone was heading their way but the moment they realized that they saw who it was, they lowered their guard and pressed a fist on their chest before bowing.
Danny bowed back in response, as a way to not seem like he was better than them. It used to be where they would bow at him and he could not stop himself but feeling self-conscious. He found that if he bowed back, there was a set of equality between them and he didn't feel so bad at being the "Great one". He walked through a tunnel that soon became a set of stairs and slowly made his way down.
There was one time he slipped on a step and slid all the way down into the room below.
Many of the Yeti got a laugh at that.
After walking a bit, he made it to the lab of the Far Frozen and saw Frostbite looking over some papers. "Hey, Frostbite."
The leader of the yeti perked up at the call and turned around before smiling brightly. "Great One!" He placed the papers he had down before making his way to Danny and bringing him into a bear hug. "It is great to see you after so long."
Danny was glad that he didn't have bones in his ghost form as he was sure his spine would have broken from the hug. Doesn't change the fact that he grunted in pain. He groaned out. "Good to see you. It's been a while"
Frostbite put the boy down and nodded. "That it has, Great one. Not since you were brought to us after your Ice core caused you to lose consciousness."
Danny remembered that day. He had been visiting a friend when his whole body began to freeze over, so much so that even the ground began to freeze. His friend then took him here in order to find out what was wrong with him. After analysis, they found out that he isn't really using any of his core's elemental powers, just the ectoplasm it generates.
Ghost cores, most of the time, only generate ectoplasm which would give the ghost their form. That is how they are in the basic terms. If the core is strong enough, it gives the ghost power to use the ectoplasm as a weapon, like blasts. And for the next level, it gains an element to them. This element could come from natural elements, like fire, water, wind, and ice, but it can also be something like sound, object-focused, or emotion manipulation.
So, yeah, even the Box ghost can be considered a ghost with a "powerful" core but its overall power level is monumentally weak.
Danny looked up at the smiling face of Frostbite as he asked. "Any problems since my last visit?"
Frostbite shook his head. "We have not run into any issues and the Infimap is still within our possession."
Danny smiled as he heard this and paused as he thought about whether he should ask if he could take the Infimap with him as a way to come back home instantly while he was away. But he quickly dropped that idea as he couldn't just use a powerful artifact as an instant bus home. 'Well, it was a nice thought.'
Frostbite could see that Danny was thinking about something and brought up his question. "As much as I am pleased to see you, I assume there is a more pressing matter you wish to discuss."
Danny shook his head as he was brought back to the current time. "Oh, right. Well, I have a favor to ask. I wanted to ask-"
"If we would be willing to guard your home while you are away in a faraway land."
Danny froze at how Frostbite was able to deduce what he was here for. "Wha-whe-why-how?"
Frostbite gave a hearty laugh at how silly Danny looked. "How did I know that was the reason for your visit?"
Danny numbly nodded.
He patted the boy's back before he gestured toward a computer on the other side of the room with a large screen. "Before you had arrived, we received communications from Princess Dorathea. She had told me that you were on your way to ask this of me and my people."
Danny looked at the computer as if it was the most surprising thing that existed. "Wait, she contacted you through your computer?! Since when could she use that?"
Frostbite smiled at his shock before he explained. "Ever since she had taken the throne of her kingdom and technology became functional in her lair, she had asked me if we could aid her in incorporating some into her home. She is still fairly unused to it but she is coming along fairly well. It had taken her some time to figure out how to end the communication."
Danny smiled as he could imagine Dora trying to find the hang-up button. He made a mental note to thank Dora for the next time he saw her. "Well….. Are you able to help?"
Frostbite gave another laugh before he looked at the boy with a smile. "If we are able to aid you in this small manner, we would be honored."
Danny smiled as this was another group that would be able to protect his home.
Frostbite continued from his statement. "We had even discussed that we shall make a schedule on who would guard the portal at specified times."
Danny's eyes widened as he didn't even think about that. Seemed that they got a good handle on things. "Thanks, Frostbite, you have no idea how relieved I am to hear this from you guys."
Frostbite nodded. "It is no worry, Great One, anything for the savior of the Ghost Zone."
Danny nodded. "This actually saves me a lot of time. At least I can relax."
Frostbite nodded as he knew that this would reassure the young boy. It was then that he remembered something he wanted to ask. "If you would, Great one, might I inquire about the well-being of young Danielle?"
Danny wasn't that surprised about the question. Much like him, Dani had problems happen to her as well, and the first thing that Danny did when Dani began to have issues with her powers was to bring her here. She didn't have the same kind of problems as he did but there were a lot of times where she would collapse and they had no idea what was causing it. She would always tell him that she was alright but after it happened too many times, he dragged her to Frostbite.
After going through the same examination he did, they found out that she was also being overwhelmed by her core's element. But surprisingly, she had a different element than him. They figured that it was because she was a clone that this happened but they just chalked it up to another screw-up on Vlad's part since he clearly made several mistakes when he cloned Danny.
Danny smiled as he looked at the Yeti leader. "She's alright. I haven't seen her in a while but she knows to call me if something ever happens. But I am going to see her later when I finish meeting with the other one I was gonna ask to help protect my town."
This caught Frostbite a bit by surprise but he figured that having as much protection for one's town while they are away is the best course of action. He praised the boy for this thought process. "It is always wise to have as many safeguards as one can have. Might I ask who else you had in mind in guarding your home?"
Danny nodded. "Well, whether you said yes or no, I wanted to ask her for help too. And I haven't seen her in a while either so this is a good excuse to see her again, like you and Dora. Oh, and the one I planned to ask was Pandora."
The trip to Pandora's took a little longer than he would have liked since it was closer to Pariah Dark's castle but he was able to make it there with no problems.
He wasn't able to contact her the way Dora contacted Frostbite because Pandora had maintained a limited amount of technology in her lair. She didn't have anything against technology, she just doesn't use it so much.
He landed at the entrance to the maze that would lead into the Acropolis. He couldn't help but sigh as this was something that he had to do every time he came here. "I wish she would just give me a shortcut to use instead of having to go through the maze."
The maze was a security function for her as like Frostbite, she was a holder of several ancient artifacts apart from her Box. She used to be lenient on her security since she had the box hidden inside her home, so well hidden that she could never have imagined anyone to find it.
The Box ghost though had the innate ability to track down any kind of box.
After that incident, she made sure that the maze had a feature where, if anyone tried to fly over it, enchanted vines would reach up and drag them back down. And the maze encircled the entire Acropolis. Therefore, the only way to get there was to go through one of the entrances and make your way through the maze.
Danny began to make his way through and wondered if he would be able to make it through the maze without having any sort of issue. He made it to a T section and looked both ways before shrugging and turning left. "Wonder if Pandora will be mad at me if I use garden shears to cut through the walls." He smirked at the thought but it dropped when the bushes rustled at it. "Ok, ok! I won't cut you." He wondered if there was a plant ghost that helped Pandora make these hedges since it always seemed like they were conscious. "Man, this would be a lot easier if I could just find-"
"NRRRRRNNNNNN~!"
Danny paused when he heard that roar and turned around to the sight of the minotaur. "Perfect, just who I was hoping for." He turned to face the beast, who was flaring his nostrils and gripping his ax. He smirked as he flexed his hand. "Alright, we can either do this the easy way, or the hard way." His hand lit up in ecto energy as he was ready for whatever answer the beat would give him. "Your choice."
The Minotaur scrapped the ground with his hoof as he glared at the boy.
Pandora was lying on her seat, wearing a red toga that had gold highlights, her flaming hair let down, and enjoying her free time in her room as she was playing the pan flute. She may be a warrior who enjoys a good battle, but she also enjoys quiet moments. There were no dealings she had to do and there was nothing that her people needed from her at the moment. If ever there was something important that she was needed for, one of her Athenian messengers would come get her.
If something was to call her to battle, a spartan warrior would rush in.
But for now, she had this time to herself.
A loud huff, loud enough to be heard over the music, caught her attention and she jumped out of her seat. She turned around to see the Minotaur of the maze standing behind Danny Phantom. She mentally berated herself for being startled so easily. 'I think I should add a door to my realm instead of it being so wide open.' She let out a sigh, placed her flute on the table that she had next to her seat, and walked toward them. "Thank you for bringing him here, you may rest until the next intruder."
The minotaur nodded before walking back into the maze.
Pandora then looked down at Danny and smiled. "I hope he wasn't that much trouble this time."
Danny shook his head. "No, I think he wasn't in the mood for a fight since he just did his bravado and then led me here."
Pandora smiled as she could imagine that. "Yes, I can see him doing that, especially since he does not enjoy being outdone by the same ghost every time." She chuckled at the notion and figured that she might need to have a training session with the minotaur to improve him. It was then that something came to mind as she put her lower arms on her hips. "Now, is it safe to assume you have finally come here to do some training? You did say that you would visit me with that intention."
Danny smacked his forehead as he remembered that the last time he met her, he said that he would take her up on her offer to train in combat. He agreed to it because despite how he knows how to fight, he doesn't really have a style to it.
She offered to train him in weapons, and combat tactics. With her experience, she would be able to improve what he already has. Powerwise, he could beat her, but he learned before that power is not the only thing that can dictate the battle. Hell, Vlad had more power than him in every fight they had but he was able to beat the older halfa before through trickery and outsmarting the egotistic Fruitloop.
Danny ran his hand down his face before he shook his head negatively. "Sorry, but no. I wish that was why I was here but I actually came here to ask you a favor."
Pandora raised an eyebrow as she gestured for him to continue. She was interested to hear what it was he came to ask her. She was a little disappointed that he didn't come here for training as she was looking forward to doing that but still, she was patient.
Danny took a breath before starting. He explained his current situation and what he asked the other realms.
When he finished, Pandora had her lower right hand rubbing her chin in thought. "I must say, this is an unusual matter. You were requested to leave your home to attend this new schooling. Is this not a little suspicious?"
Danny nodded. "Yeah, but me and my friends already looked into the school and we can't find anything that would say that it is a trap. It's a high-class school, has been built for a long time and nothing weird happens there. We checked for any ghost sightings but there's nothing. No, missing people, no police reports, nothing to say a ghost even haunts there. Only thing we found that has to do with ghosts are some folk tales that had been around much longer than the school; Suicide forest, haunted bridges, and monsters that might be ghosts or some hallucination people had. But those are all in other areas away from the school." He scratched his head as the only thing that might be of interest popped into his head. "Well, we did find out that it used to be a school made just for girls until a few years ago, but that's really it." He remembered that because Tucker found out about this and he again tried to apply for the school as it might be the ratio that could be why they called out to Danny. They figured that Danny might not be the only one that was asked to transfer. Maybe others were asked to go there too.
Which made Tucker whine again about why he was invited instead of Danny.
Pandora hummed at the news and wondered if there was anything that they missed. As a warrior and one who has existed through several eras and seen the changes, she is always wary of random occurrences but Danny and his friends already looked into the school and any potential trap so it eased her worries. "Well, if you checked the school already, I suppose there is not much to worry about." she then smiled at the boy as she put a hand on his shoulder. "I understand that you are worried but you should see this as an opportunity for a new experience. And shouldn't worry about your home. With Dora's knights, Frostbites warriors, and my spartans, your home will be safe, even from your arch nemesis."
Danny smiled as her statement made him feel so much better. If his home was going to be safe from any rogue ghosts and Vlad, he no longer had to worry about coming back home to find it under his control or in rubble thanks to Vlad messing something up. "Thanks for helping out, Pandora."
The tall woman nodded as she stood up at her full height and pressed her top right fist at her chest. "If I am able to aid you in this, it would be my honor." She did a slight bow before she eased up. "And as I said, you should see this as a chance to experience something new. You are going to another country that will be much different from what you have experienced before."
It was when she said this that Danny finally realized something. He didn't know how he could forget about this since it should be obvious but his mind was on so many other things. He grabbed his hair and panicked. "Crap! I'm going to another country! How the hell am I gonna understand anything over there!"
Pandora was at first startled by his shout but then laughed at what was causing him grief. "Oh, Phantom, do you know about ghosts' innate ability of languages?"
Danny stopped and looked up at Pandora with his hands still gripping his hair.
Pandora knelt down and removed his hands from his hair before clearing this up. "All ghosts, no matter what power they possess, have the ability to understand all languages, even speak them. You should have this ability as well so you don't need to worry about not understanding anything while there."
Danny blinked a few times. "Really? I didn't know we could do that."
Pandora nodded. "Yes, your ears will automatically translate the foreign words for you to better understand. But in order to speak it, you need to focus some Ecto energy into your throat before speaking. But make sure you are careful. Your wail might activate instead if you put too much energy into it."
Danny brought a hand to his throat. "Wow, that will make things so much easier for me."
Pandora nodded. "Not only that, but after a time, you will learn the languages yourself so you will later no longer need to focus your energy to use them."
Danny smiled wider. "Man, these ghost powers just get better and better."
She chuckled at that but patted his head. "They will help you learn to speak and understand the language, but reading and writing is another story. Understanding the language will make it easier but you will have to learn how to read and write in the language."
Danny slumped as this killed his good mood. "Oh, man." He let out a sigh before standing up straight. "Well, I guess I can't get everything." He then realized something. 'Is this why Dani could go around the world with no problems?' He figured he should just ask Dani when he sees her and that he should get a move on. "Well, I owe you for this Pandora. You and the others. I still don't know why I was chosen for this but knowing that you three will be here to protect the town while I'm gone will make this a lot easier."
She nodded as she stood back up. "You're welcome, Young Phantom. Perhaps next we meet, you will actually be here for training."
Danny chuckled. "Yeah, I hope so." He stretched his arms over his head before speaking. "Well, I still have a few places to go before I head home. And I need to get there soon, otherwise Dani will get mad at me."
Pandora nodded. "Yes, you must bring her here next time so I might meet her."
Danny nodded as he turned around to head back into the maze. Once he stood at the entrance, he looked back at her. "And you've gotta give me some sort of key or something so I can get through this faster."
Pandora chuckled as she moved to stand next to him. "Allow me to make your journey easier… and I will come up with a way for you to make it through without troubling brutus."
With that, the two disappeared in flames as Pandora teleported them away.
End of chapter
I tried to come up with looks that are a sort of cross between Danny in the show and what they looked like in the 10 years later drawing Butch Hartman did. Tucker didn't have much of a change.
Danny's outfit is sort of like what I gave him in my Kingdom Hearts fic. The look was cool and I wanted to use it again
And I felt like some of the other characters would have changed as well, that is why I did it for Paulina and Star.
This chapter was meant as a prologue of sorts. So will the next one.
Fic title is subject to change cause I could not think of a proper one.
This will be a harem, duh. But who is in it, even I don't know.
I have a few ideas that I want to use but we will see if I can use them without being contrived.
And also, no, Danny will not recieve draig.
Flames will be ignored.
