This going to be the first chapter fr. I don't own nothing
It was 5:32 AM when I woke up. I mumbled as I dragged myself out of bed. Another Monday, another school day.
Pewter City's schools were different than any other town. We started at 6:30 AM and ended at 1:30 PM. Brock, Being the gym leader was the one who made this choice. His reasoning was "The early Pidgey gets the Caterpie." While his intentions were right, the students all cursed him silently in the morning.
I looked at my Calendar. It was November 13th. Today was Ameer's birthday. Obviously being the spoiled kid that he was, He wouldn't show up to school today. I grumbled even more as I thought of him sleeping in while we would be learning math.
I got up, brushed my teeth in the bathroom and took a shower. My curly hair always looked awful unless I showered in the morning. After about seven minutes, I got out of the shower and got dressed in my signature black sweatpants and plain white shirt. I looked at my face in the mirror for a few minutes before walking out of the bathroom.
I made my way downstairs to the kitchen. I made cracked some eggs into a pan and placed it on the stove before sitting down on a nearby chair. I checked my watch for the time. It was 5:47. My eggs would be ready in about ten minutes which meant I would eat them at 5:57. I would probably take 4 minutes to eat them and another 4 to clean the dishes. This meant I could leave my house at 6:05. it was a 15-minute walk to my school, so I'd most likely arrive at 6:20, give or take a couple minutes.
And so, I waited patiently for my eggs to cook. at 5:57 I took them off the stove and placed them onto a plate I had prepared beforehand. I sat down at the table and ate my eggs silently. I finished at 6:03, a little later than I had planned. I quickly got up and washed the dishes and put them away before grabbing my backpack and putting on my shoes. I checked my watch before walking out of the door. 6:10. I was still on pace to make it to school in time.
I walked out of my house and walked along the sidewalk. The walk to school was pretty dull, except for near the end where I could peak into Viridian Forest.
For some reason, The School was built next to the Viridian Forest. Don't ask me why they thought that was a good idea. There had been a few complaints by the parents who were worried for their children's safety, but the school board shot those down quickly. The School Board argued that the Pewter city gym was down the street from the school, so if any wild Pokémon intruded on school grounds, Brock would be able to dispose of them.
My route to school traveled through Ameer's neighborhood. I decided to stop by his house to see what his parents were planning for him. Afterall it was his 15th birthday. They only had one more year before Ameer would set off on his own journey. It was 6:13 when I stopped by the gate surrounding their home. No matter how many times I saw their house, it only seemed to grow bigger.
Their house was a beautiful pearly white. It was three stories and was nothing short of a mansion. The Marshs owned about 30 acres of land surrounding their house, The house being in the middle surrounded by tons of plants and trees. Just walking to their house took about a minute if you start at the gate. Their yard doubled as a Pokémon Sanctuary, often exhibiting rare Pokémon such as Dratini or Pokémon from different regions such as Swellow.
I walked down the stone path leading to the Marsh residence. I couldn't help but be in awe of all the Pokémon they were housing. Eventually I made it to the front porch. I knocked on the door and waited for a minute before Mrs. Marsh Opened the door.
"Oh, hello Laith!" She said with a smile. "Don't you have school today?"
"I came to say happy birthday to Ameer." I responded. "Is he awake yet?"
"Not yet, no. But how about you come inside, and I'll show you the birthday preparations!"
Birthday preparations at 6 am? Seems like they're having a bigger party than I thought.
"No can-do Mrs. Marsh, I've got school soon, But I'll definitely come for the party at 3!"
"Oh, it's alright dear, you should head to school now. It's 6:23, I wouldn't want you to be late."
I waved goodbye before leaving. I walked down the path towards the gate. Once again looking at all the Pokémon in their yard. I saw a flock of Pidgey flying around, a pond filled with Magikarp. I was a little jealous. My house was nothing compared to Ameer's. I lived in a two-story house with 3 rooms and two bathrooms. it was nothing like Ameer's mansion.
I walked out of the gate and closed it behind me before continuing the walk to school. I was about 3 minutes away from the school and the time was 6:24. Looks like I'd be cutting it close. At this point I went from walking to a light jog.
I after a minute or so, the school was now in my view. I slowed down and started walking once more. 6:26, Looks like I won't be late after all. I looked towards my left; I saw Viridian Forest. It was a beautiful sight. Trees with thick trunks and orange leaves. Looks like they'll be falling soon.
I like Fall. It's a nice season. When the leaves fall, it's easier to see into the forest. There are a lot less Pokémon however. With the flocks of Pidgey and Spearow heading to Alola for the incoming winter, Viridian Forest is just that much quieter.
I made it to school on time. It was 6:28 when I entered the school, I barely made it to my classroom before the bell rang.
Mr. Beaks was an awful teacher. He was a mean and grouchy old man. No matter how well we did in his class, AP Pokémon Behaviors, he would always expect more.
I walked to the back of the classroom and sat down. The bell rang almost immediately after I sat. Mr. Beaks, who had just been sitting at his table glanced up from his computer before taking attendance.
"Peter?" asked Mr. Beaks in a monotone voice
"Here!" responded Peter.
"Maximus?" Mr. Beaks asked again.
One by one he went down his list, obviously marking Ameer absent. Today was going to be a long day.
