Heavy.
The egg was heavy. The abnormally large incubator didn't help either.
I had been walking home carrying the egg for the past 30 minutes and still had a long way to go. Thank God it was fall, I don't think I could handle this if it was in the summer sun.
Eventually I sat down on the sidewalk to take a break. I breathed a sigh of relief as I felt the exhaustion slowly leave my body.
I laid my back on the incubator. That Munchlax better be the strongest runt ever. Especially after all this pain he's putting me through. After a few minutes I stood up and picked up the incubator again.
This Egg was Abnormally heavy. Most Munchlax eggs typically weigh between 100-140 pounds. This beast probably weighed around 160.
I'm a Skinny kid. I never was the strongest, But I was fast. It was one of my strong suits. I could run faster than any of my classmates, I made quite a bit of money with that talent. Whenever I was challenged to a race, I'd always bet 5 bucks on it. I've never been beaten. Eventually my classmates caught on and never raced me again.
But being fast wasn't helping right now. I needed strength to carry this egg back home. I looked around my location, silently grieving my situation. Suddenly, I noticed someone from the corner of my eye. Brock Harrison. He was crossing an intersection, he had his Onix summoned.
"Hey... Brock!" I yelled trying to grab his attention. I was panting slightly. Not a good look for me.
Onix noticed me first. He turned around and his giant rocky mouth slightly curled into a smile. Brock noticed me right after.
I got up and dizzily walked to Brock. Jeez, I need to work out more.
"Hey... Brock," I said, trying to catch my breath in between words. "Can... you... Help a brother... out. I gotta... carry that... egg back home." I said as I pointed to the incubator behind me. I put my hands on my knees and tried catching my breath.
Brock raised an eyebrow. "Where did you get that from?" His Onix titled his head curiously.
"I got it as a gift." I said, still a little tired from carrying it. "My teacher gave it to me, It's a Munchlax egg but it's very heavy."
Brock shook his head, "Alright I'll help you out." He said as he walked towards the incubator. He walked around the incubator and examined it. "That's quite a large Munchlax egg, makes me a little scared for the monster that's going to hatch." Brock said with a slight chuckle.
Brock picked the egg up. with relative ease. He slowly placed the incubator onto his shoulder. "So how far are we carrying it, little man?" Brock asked.
"Just a 10-minute walk from here." I said, laughing nervously.
Brock took a long sigh. "Is it too late for me to leave?"
"Yep."
...
We arrived at my house and Brock put the incubator in my room. He didn't have a fun time carrying it up the stairs. Brock left and I was alone with the incubator in my room. Brock had placed the incubator on the floor in the corner next to my bed.
I laid down on my bed, exhausted from all the walking I did today. I ran my fingers through my curly hair as I stared into the ceiling fan. I couldn't help but feel like I was forgetting something...
I already did my chores; I don't have laundry in the dryer... What could it be?
I had a sudden realization.
I jumped up from my bed and ran into the shower.
Ameer is gonna kill me.
...
I had finally finished getting ready when the time was 2:46. I had 14 minutes to make it to Ameer's party. I was wearing a white polo with brown Khakis. I had enough time to walk to Ameer's house.
And so, I began my walk. It was about an 8-minute walk to get to Ameer's house. As I walked, I looked around myself. Pewter city really was a beautiful place.
Pewter city, politically, didn't have much power. The way the Kanto continent worked was as follows. Each city had representatives based on population. They were assigned one representative for every 500 residents. Pewter city barely managed to reach that amount with only 518 residents.
Anyways, those representatives were a part of the Kanto Government. They would vote and pass laws and Pokémon regulations. The only people allowed to bypass these regulations were gym leaders, professors, high-end researchers, the elite four, and the Champion. These people would be able to hold more than 6 Pokémon at a time, as well as being able to travel to other continents without doing the required paperwork.
The Champion acted as vice president and General of the Kanto military. When the current champion is defeated, they have a one-year grace period where they train and teach the new champion to take on the title.
Gym leaders acted as Vice Mayors for their respective towns and cities. Each town was governed by a Mayor, Gym leader, Secretary, treasurer, and the police force.
Professors and High-end researchers had no political power, but typically had a lot of influence in the government with their connections. They also were able to sponsor upcoming trainers.
Cities typically had good relationships between each other, the only exception to this rule is Cerulean city and Viridian City.

I finally arrived at Ameer's house. I stood in front of the newly decorated Gate surrounding the Marsh's plot of land. I went through the gate and walked up the stone pathway. I noticed decorations all along the pathway to Ameer's porch. "Happy birthday" banners and streamers littered the trees and a ton of confetti was spread out on the pathway. As I got closer to the Marsh's residence, the sound of music slowly became louder.
...
Once I arrived on the porch, I rang the doorbell.
I heard quiet footsteps approaching the door before Ameer opened the door.
Ameer was 5'9, had curly black hair and prominent middle eastern features. He wasn't skinny but wasn't fat either. He was dressed in Jeans, A T-Shirt and a party hat.
"Happy birthday man" I said with a slight smile
"Glad you could make it, Laith!" He responded happily.
"You gonna invite me in or am I gonna stand out here all day?"
"You know you can come in, you're basically my brother." Ameer smiled
"Aight, I got some news to share with you, But I'll tell you that later." I said, remembering my newly acquired Munchlax egg.
"That can wait, get in and enjoy the party." responded Ameer.
