"I didn't think we'd go back to Hoenn after so long. Man, it really takes me back." David said. "What about you, Sectonia?"

"Yes, me too. It was way back when we started on our journeys. Hard to believe so much time has passed since then." Sectonia said.

"Yeah… So much has happened since then. Hard to believe back then, you were an exiled queen and I was a two-bit punk." David said.

"And now you're a ten-bit punk." Emo stated. "Heh, ten-bit. It's more than two." he said, the sound of crickets chirping.

"Huh, did someone let a Kricketune in?" Steven wondered aloud.

"Anyways… Considering the Legendary lineup here, I take it things are already pretty crazy here?" Mark asked.

"Yeah…look!" Jet said, showing them visuals of the weather rapidly changing between harsh rainy storms and drought inducing sunshine.

"Looks like Team Magma and Team Aqua are already working to use Kyogre and Groudon." David said. "Where they found more is a mystery, but what matters now is stopping them."

"Right, so we just get in between the fight of Kyogre and Groudon. Simple enough." Scarlet said.

"Well, we don't need to get into the fight, per say. We just got to stop Magma and Aqua."

"Hmm…I got some visuals of those teams." Jet said, showing both Team Aqua and Team Magma on screen, battling against each other all across Hoenn in multiple cities.

"They're fighting each other? Guess that shouldn't be a surprise. Their ideologies always clashed even before now." David said.

"So who are our players this time around?" Yang asked.

"For Team Magma…there's their Leader Maxie along with admins Courtney and Tabitha. Team Aqua's leader is Archie and admins are Shelly and Matt." Sectonia explained.

"So…Team Aqua uses water and Team Magma is more focused on earth and fire, right?" Pearl asked.

"That's correct." David said.

"Alright, time to get to work!" Eddy said, as the group headed off deeper into Hoenn.

Slateport City, Hoenn…

In this city, the citizens were on the run as members of Team Aqua were already on the warpath of taking it over.

"Yeah that's right, run all those chumps outta here!" spoke Matt, the large and burly admin of Team Aqua.

"Team Aqua's making waves here…everyone ready to…ugh, this is gonna sound so stupid…flush them out?" ZS asked.

"Yeah, let's." David said.

"Huh? Oh…just a bunch of scrawny little kids. Nevermind." Matt said.

"Matt, has it really been so long that you don't recognize us? I'm hurt." David said.

"Huh? Who are…oh yeah…you're the wimpy guy who had his insect girlfriend do all the fighting." Matt said.

"Right here." Sectonia said.

"Oh you dumped her for a hotter girl, huh. Good for you." Matt said.

"Yeah, he's still the same idiot…" David said.

"Would an idiot have done…this?" Matt said, snapping his fingers as Team Aqua grunts rose out of the sands and surrounded them.

"Well look at that. He knew we were coming." Mermista said.

"Heh…and I also brought this!" Matt said as dropping in the middle was a Shadow Walrein.

"Walrein, huh? Okay. I'll bite." David said.

"Hehehe…use Shadow Ice Ball!" Matt said as Walrein gathered ice in its mouth and filled with darkness before it fired.

"Froslass, Shadow Ball!" David said as he tossed Froslass' Pokéball into the air. Froslass fired Shadow Ball only for it be broken by the ice ball as it hit Froslass dead on. "Oof, that was a nasty one."

"Hahaha! Sorry pal. Cipher has footage from all those tournaments. We know who to isolate and take care of first. Sorry, but you ain't…" Matt said as Walrein was suddenly attacked by a slash. "What the?"

"How did…" David said.

"Hey…" a voice said as approaching them was Wally and Gallade. "Am I…interrupting?"

"Not exactly. In fact, you're just in time." David said.

"Long time no see, Wally." Sectonia said.

'So what if you brought an extra? Walrein is still gonna crush you all!" Matt said.

"I don't think so." Wally said.

"Don't pretend to act tough, you're just some weak little boy! Walrien, crush his Gallade with Shadow Ice Ball!" Matt said as the ice ball was fired for a second time at Gallade and Froslass.

Both David and Wally gave a wave as both Froslass and Gallade landed a joint strike on the ice ball, sending it back at Walrein and sending it flying.

"I'll take this off your hands, thank you." David said as he threw a Pokéball at Walrein. The ball hit its mark as Walrein was pulled inside. The ball shook for a bit before it clicked.

"Damn it!" Matt said. "All of you! What are you waiting for? Wipe out these losers!" he called out to the grunts circling the trainers.

"Well…guess we're doing this." Hope said.

Lavaridge Town, Hoenn…

"Come on…keep it up!" shouted the fiery gym leader Flannery as her Torkoal was working to repel the invading forces of Team Magma.

"Hahaha…sorry but there's no stopping us." Tabitha said as his grunts were closing in.

"What about us?" a voice asked as Mark led a team into the fray.

"Grrr….let it loose!" Tabitha called out as the grunts went and released a Shadow Aggron into battle.

"So this is where you have been huh? So glad I chose to help lead the front against Team Magma." Mark said.

"Attack! Don't let them get in our way!" Tabitha called out as Aggron roared in rage.

"If you're using a brute, then…Okami!" Mark said, sending out his Mightyena. "Use Crunch!"

Okami gathered Dark-type energy into his fangs and bit down on the Shadow Aggron, damaging and lowering its defenses.

"Shadow Tail!" Tabitha ordered as Aggron's tail was coated in shadows as it swung at Okami only for the wolf-like Pokémon to dodge with a jump.

"Now for the main event. Dig!" Mark called out, Okami digging into the ground. After a moment, the ground erupted under the Shadow Pokémon, Okami breaking through and hitting with Ground-type energy.

Aggron called out as it stumbled backwards from the force before a ball was sent flying and hit it dead on, pulling it inside before the ball clicked.

"What? No!" Tabitha said in shock. "All of you! Deal with this!"

As the Team Magma grunts were about to attack, they were suddenly blindsided by some kicks from a Blaziken as a girl in a red bandanna stood with it.

"May?" Ash K asked.

"Nice to see you too, Ash." May said.

"Oh, another friend of Ash's eh?" Mark asked.

"One of my friends from when I took on Hoenn and the Battle Frontier. She's a coordinator like Dawn." Ash K said.

"It's nice to meet you. We'll catch up later, after we drive Team Magma out of Lavaridge Town." May said.

"Then it's all the way to their base." Ash K said.

"Let's go. We'll show 'em what a raging volcano really looks like." Mark stated.

Lilycove City, Hoenn…

In the Team Aqua base, the Team Aqua grunts were scrambling as Shelley took charge.

"Hurry up! We need to meet up with the boss in Sootopolis City soon." Shelly called out before hearing an explosion nearby.

"Game's over!" Mermista called out as the group dealing with Team Aqua marched in.

"Get on with it!" Shelly called out as the Team Aqua grunts went to battle.

"You're going down!" David said.

"Don't count on it!" Shelly said as she sent out a Shadow Sharpedo.

"Sharpedo, huh? I've got dibs on snag!" Mermista said.

"Wait until we've worn it down, Mermista," Perfuma said.

"Assuming you can! Use Shadow Frenzy!" Shelly said as Sharpedo was charging through the water and attacking anyone who got close to the water.

"It's fast!" Adora said.

"Why do Shadow Pokémon always get the good stuff?!" Issei asked in irritation.

"Cause it's not natural." Mermista said.

"Don't worry, I have an idea!" Frosta said as she sent out her Cryogonal. "Use Ice Beam!"

Cryogonal fired the attack, seeming to miss Sharpedo.

"Are you even aiming?" Shelly mocked.

"Oh I am, but not for sharpedo." Frosta said.

The ice beam hit the water instead, turning Sharpedo's entire swimming area into solid ice and trapping the Shadow Pokémon inside.

"Ha! What are you…gonna…" Frosta said as Shelly showed them a mega ring.

"Now….let's go on the rage." Shelly said tapping it as Sharpedo Mega Evolved and broke through, its body now altered and clad with spikes and with its fins having notches in it as it surged through the water.

"Well, that sucks." Issei said.

"It was still a good try, Frosta." Perfuma said.

"Yeah, but now what do we do?" Frosta asked.

"We weaken it, obviously!" Mermista said.

"Let's attempt a different strategy, then!" Perfuma said as she sent out Meganium. "Use Leech Seed!"

Meganium hit Mega Sharpedo dead on with the move as his HP was slowly draining.

"We'll need more than that. Primarina! Araquanid!" Mermista said as she sent both out.

"You help too Chesnaught!" Sectonia said as she sent out Chesnaught.

"Primarina, use Moonblast, and Araquanid, use Bug Buzz!" Mermista said.

The two Pokémon attacked Mega Sharpedo with their moves, damaging it and slowing it down.

"Meganium, grab it with Vine Whip!" Perfuma said as Meganium snagged it and pulled it right towards Chesnaught.

"Now Chesnaught, Wood Hammer!" Sectonia called out as Chesnaught hammered down on Sharpedo just as it jumped.

"Now all together!" Mermista called out as all four Pokemon attacked Sharpedo at once, breaking it out of its Mega form. "Now!" she said hurling the ball at it and capturing it.

"No…" Shelly said.

"Hahah! Come on out, Archie! I'll show you what…" David said.

"He's not here." Shelly said.

"Wait, what?" David said.

"Yeah…he's gone ahead to deal with Team Magma's leader in Sootopolis City." Shelly said.

"...Oh." ZS stated. "Well…guess we'll just go there then…"

Mt. Chimney, Hoenn, Team Magma Lair…

"Go go go go!" the magma grunts chanted as they started filing out.

"Let's go!" two voices called out as Sceptile and Blaziken broke in with May and Ash K behind them.

"So, what are Team Magma after anyway?" May asked.

"Probably Groudon again." Ash K said.

"We already have Groudon." a voice said as standing over them was Courtney, the Team Magma admin. "I and the army were about to join our leader Maxie in Sootopolis City. But before that…I think I'm gonna bury you all in molten rock." she said with a giggle before sending out Shadow Camerupt.

"She's pleasant company, huh?" Carmine asked sarcastically.

"More like insane." Mark said.

"Either way, we'll need to beat her to get outta here." Ash K said.

"Come on…let me…analyze you." Courtney said as Camerupt began using Shadow Eruption as dark molten rock fired from the humps on its back.

Team Magma Admin

"Return, Sceptile!" Ash K said recalling Sceptile. "Go, Corphish!" he said switching to Corphish. "Aqua Jet!" Ash K said as Corphish rammed right into Camerupt in a stream of water.

"Hydrapple, Earth Power!" Kieran sent out his ace.

"Sinistcha, Scald!" Carmine added. The siblings' Pokémon each launched their attacks, the super effective moves hitting at the same time. "You analyzed enough to realize how outmatched you are yet?" the older sister taunted.

"Maybe ask this…" Courtney said as she drew her Mega Ring and activated it, Camerupt Mega Evolving into a corrupted version of its Mega form, its back now one large volcano spewing a purple lava.

"Right…of course." Carmine said. "Guess we've got our work cut out for us."

"Let's do this." Ash K said.

"Right behind you all!" May said.

"Well…if everyone else is…" Arven said as he sent out Cloyster.

"Mega Camerupt! Go!" Courtney ordered as Mega Camerupt fired off once more as the four trainers worked in tandem to counter its eruption.

"Stun Spore, Sinistcha!" Carmine said, the Matcha Pokémon releasing spores. Camerupt was paralyzed as Corphish and Cloyster hammered it with water attacks as Blaziken went into a rage against it until its Mega Evolution came undone.

"Nice work guys. Now…" Aria said as she went and snatched up the large Pokémon.

"Aw…such a shame." Courtney said.

"Where is Maxie?" Ash K asked.

"Sootopolis City…going to fight with that loser leader of Team Aqua." Courtney said.

"Typical. Even when brainwashed into becoming Cipher's lap dogs, they just can't help but fight each other." Mark shook his head.

"Still, they're both using Groudon and Kyogre…it'll be a tough battle." Ash K said.

"Then we should get over there and stop them." Kieran stated.

"Yeah." Mark added.

"Hey, Sectonia, you have Groudon on your team, right?" Frosta asked. "I know David can perform Burst with Kyogre, but have you ever reached that level of synergy with Groudon?"

"No, I don't think I have. Not even with Vespiquen." Sectonia said. "I guess I haven't really put much thought into it."

"Well, I think you could do it." Frosta said. "You want to be by David's side as equals. So it would only make sense for you to master Groudon's power as David did Kyogre's." Frosta said.

"Attaining the same level of strength as someone else doesn't always have to be the way to become equals. Sometimes a bond is more than enough." Ace said.

"I suppose you are right. I mean, I know I said some things about Cheetah when the two of them fight side-by-side, but… The more I think about it, the more it shows how much they trust each other." Sectonia said. "What a silly little thing I almost got so fussy about."

"I don't think it's silly at all." Kabuki said. "I think the reason you were like that was because you wanted what you believed was best for our lord. I don't think anyone is going to blame you for thinking about his well-being."

"Plus it's better to not take Burst advice from someone who messed up their first attempt epicly." Jesse said.

"Hey…It could have worked…maybe…probably…kinda?" Frosta said.

"Besides, you're pretty kickass on your own without it." Jesse said.

"Let that never go unsaid." ZS agreed. "And yet another chance to prove it is coming up. Sootopolis City is dead ahead!" he pointed.

They headed into the city where they saw both Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon battling it out but their builds were much different from normal. The lines on their body being a dark purple as their primal forms looked more wicked and sinister than normal.

"Wow…they are really tearing it up." Jexi said.

"And they've also become Shadow Pokémon too." Aria said as they saw Maxie and Archie issuing orders for one to attack the other.

"And there's our two masterminds." ZS said. "Time to settle this debate, right guys?"

"Yeah. Couldn't agree more." David said.

The group headed into the fray as Maxie and Archie continued fighting. As they charged, they saw a Pokémon launching balls of psychic energy as it flew around. This Pokémon being Deoxys.

"Whoa…how…." David said as he looked over to a cliff to see a certain champion. "Steven…so he's trying to reduce the damage too."

"Hmm…I'm gonna try and reel in Groudon with the team I brought." Mark said.

"Then I guess mine will take on Kyogre." David said.

The two teams split up as the two titans roared at each other.

Titans of Land & Sea

Primal Shadow Groudon & Primal Shadow Kyogre

(Cue: Primal Kyogre & Groudon Battle Music - Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire)

"This is so nostalgic. But…I don't think this'll be like the first time." David said as he and his team focused on Kyogre.

"What a way to spend an afternoon…" Mark shook his head and smiled as he and his team approached Groudon. One of his Pokeballs twitched though as popping out was the Rhydon known as Shingen.

"(Ah…so that's him…the one who made the land! How I've wanted to face him.)" Shingen said.

"S-Shingen?!" Mark asked before sensing the Rhydon's determined spirit. "Oh, I get it… Not sure what the history is, but if you want a go, then get a go! You're up!" Mark said, sending the Drill Pokémon out.

Primal Shadow Groudon started off the attack with Precipice Blades, the signature move barrieling right towards Shingen.

"Shingen, use Drill Run!" Mark called out, as Rhydon rotated their horn, using it to propel itself forward and maneuver around the Legendary's attack, crashing into them.

"(Hahahaha! You've got quite a powerful hide!)" Shingen said as Primal Shadow Groudon howled before knocking Shingen back.

"Let's endure this! Use Earth Power!" Mark called as the earth erupted under Groudon. The Legendary was hit hard, but remained standing, countering with Shadow Slash.

"Man, I knew Groudon was tough, but this is…" Mark shook his head, before taking out his Tera Orb. "Alright, let's try this!" he said, Terastallizing Shingen with a Rock Type. "Shingen, use Meteor Beam!"

"But that'll give Groudon a chance to attack!" Hope said.

"Not if I can help it!" Mark replied as he pulled out something else. "I was doing a little shopping in Sinnoh." he said, pulling out a large orange object.

"Isn't that…a Protector?" Kieran said.

"Yeah….so let's do this!" he said, tossing it onto Rhydon as it latched on as Rhydon charged its power as its body glowed, its body becoming bulkier and its tail being round and a new horn appearing on its head. Rhydon, while terastallized and charging an attack, had now evolved into Rhyperior.

"Shingen evolved into Rhyperior!" Ash K. realized.

"(Hahaha…now this is a powerful body! Much more defensive! I love it!)" Shingen called out as he unleashed Meteor Beam as Groudon attacked with Solar Beam, only for it to be overtaken by the attack as Groudon was hit dead on and sent stumbling backwards. "(You've spent so much time fighting one opponent, you can't adapt to anyone else! Your hatred has defeated you today!)"

"Yeah…it's over!" Mark said, launching the Snag Ball as it hit Groudon dead on, pulling the beast inside as the ball twitched a bit before it clicked.

"Not a bad play, Mark. You even got your Rhydon to evolve." Penny said.

"Now we just need to let David's side handle Kyogre." Ash K said.

"Mimi, strike Kyogre with Thunder Shock!" said as Mimi the Pawmot called down lightning onto Primal Kyogre. While it was Super Effective, it didn't do much damage however, and Kyogre retaliated on Mimi with Origin Pulse, putting her health in critical condition.

"David, you've captured Kyogre before, what do we need to do to beat him like this?" Perfuma asked.

"Perfuma, when Sectonia and I caught them, it was just with Latios and Latias, and even then, it was really close." David said.

"I see. But with all of us together, we should be able to stand a chance." Perfuma said.

"Yeah…maybe…" David said. "Cause of that stupid drug, Primal Kyogre's powers are even higher than when me and Sectonia fought it."

"You got anything to take it down?" Hope asked.

"I think I do… But it's risky." David said.

"When is it ever not risky? Take the shot, Dave!" ZS urged.

"Alright, here goes." David said as he sent out Magneton, and Swampert as he soon Mega Evolves Swampert and gets on Miraidon. "You two try to distract it. A few of us will circle on back and catch him in a pincer." he said as Swampert dove down as Magneton followed. "Sectonia, you have picked up Decidueye in Blueberry Academy, right?"

"Yes, I have." Sectonia said. "Any particular reason you're bringing that up?"

"Obviously he wants you to snipe Kyogre. Decidueye is a grass type after all." Frosta said.

"Is that why you sent Swampert and Magneton as a distraction?" ZS asked.

"Yeah. Swampert is a Ground-type, so if Magneton ends up using Discharge, Swampert wouldn't be hit." David said.

"Ah, I see. And the paralysis caused by Magneton would slow Kyogre down a lot and make it easier to get the jump on him!" Sectonia said.

"Of course, this plan isn't foolproof. Swampert and Magneton can still take a bit of damage from Kyogre's attacks. So, we better be quick and careful about this." David said.

"Gee, if only a certain plant girl had that exact same idea…" Jesse said.

"Uh…" Perfuma sweatdropped.

"Hope-induced brainfart aside, we'll need to get into positions. This might be our only shot." David said. "Sectonia, get Decidueye ready. I'll be counting on you."

"Right." Sectonia said as Decidueye flew to a high point.

"Now…here we go!" David said as his team started running interference as Kyogre focused its ire all on them. "Whoa…it is really going nuts out there. Just a little more."

Sectonia could only gulp as Decidueye notched the arrow. "Let 'em fly!" Sectonia called out as Decidueye unleashed a number of its arrows against Kyogre, causing massive damage to it before collapsing.

"This one…it's all mine!" said as she tossed the ball and captured Primal Kyogre.

"Yes! The operation was a success!" David said.

"No…those fools…how dare…" Maxie and Archie said at the same time before they were quickly apprehended.

"You two aren't going anywhere." Hope said.

"This would've ended differently had you two actually gotten along. But I guess even if you're on the same team, some things never change." Sectonia said.

"This isn't over! Cipher will rule the Pokémon world!" Archie declared.

"And if the world does not accept our rule, we'll just destroy everything." Maxie added.

"That's not you talking, and you both know it." Mark said. "We're not going to let either of those outcomes happen."

"Or die trying." David said.

As the group celebrated, they were unknowingly being watched by a girl on a Rayquaza.

"Looks like I wasn't needed this time. Oh well…always next time." she said as the girl was shown to be Zinnia.

It wasn't long before both Archie and Maxie were put in the custody of the International Police as the group headed back to the ship.

"Hoenn's been liberated…next stop is…Unova." Jexi said.

"Unova…Makes me worried about what Ghetsis has been up to." Leia said. "I'm also worried for Keldeo…and N…."

"I'm sure they're fine. N's no slouch, and neither is Keldeo." Mark assured the reporter.

"Yeah. Plus don't forget he's got Zekrom with him and it's not a weak little dragon." Dan said.

"But the fact that Ghetsis is even in Cipher makes me worried. He's a mastermind, a puppeteer." Leia said. "He only wanted to use N for his own ambitions. If he's in Cipher, then who knows what he's planning."

"Hey." Hope said. "Don't worry about it. Whatever he's up to, we'll stop him. You've beat him twice before. A third time will be no different."

"You and your boundless optimism…" Leia said. "Okay…let's go to Unova…and stop Team Plasma."
