A few weeks have gone by along with the surprising fact that the S-class trials happened out of nowhere with Sasuke despite being 13, he was one of the nominees to be selected to become S-class. It was tough but in the end it came down to Laxus and Sasuke on who would get the title of the new S-class wizard.
Ultimately Makarov went and had them fight the only S-class wizard Gildarts Clive in the end to determine who was more worthy. That was a total disaster in itself, but Laxus barely managed to take the title of S-class and not long after declared Sasuke his Rival feeling that Sasuke wasn't going all out fighting Gildarts. Which was true seeing as he didn't use his Sharingan or any of his Shinobi skills once during the S-class trials.
Not long after they all came back a girl with bright red hair wearing ragged clothes and an eye patch walked into the guild looking to join. Apparently an old acquaintance of the Master's sent her, sadly he passed away based on what she said. She introduced herself as Erza Scarlet, Grey constantly tries to pick a fight with her despite her never answering him or talking to anyone for that matter. One day she came into the guild and sat by herself to eat some food while everyone else was laughing for some unknown reason. "I feel bad for her." Cana stated "Why don't you go talk to her then?" Grey questioned.
"I tried that but she just ignored me every time I tried. Hey Sasuke have you talked to her yet?" Sasuke shakes his head. "She seems to want to be alone and I'm not going to push her into talking if she doesn't want to." He says then grabs a piece of bread off his plate and takes a bite out of it. "Well she's got to understand she's not gonna get anywhere if she doesn't talk to The Grey." Grey smirks. "You're getting too big a head for a streaker." Cana comments and Sasuke nods in agreement. "Hey, don't agree with her! Watch, I'll get her to talk this time, and I won't fight either." Grey states as he gets up from the table and walks over to Erza.
"Hey, what's up." Grey says proudly, Erza ignores him and by doing so he gets angry and kicks the table over. "Is there a problem?" Erza deadpans. "You know this is a wizards guild right? That stupid armor won't protect you here." Grey states. "Maybe not, but at least I have the common decency to wear something. That's more I can say than you pervert." Erza retorts Grey flinches at this, and the entire guild laughs.
"Look out guys, looks like we have a live one." Wakaba teases. "She sure figured you out quick, Grey." Macao said. "What'd you call me?" Grey says with anger. "If you're smart, you'll leave me alone." Erza warns. "Why You!" Sasuke then goes to throw a punch at Erza only to be kicked into a nearby table. "I thought you weren't going to pick a fight." Both Cana and Sasuke deadpan. "Shut up you two." Grey gets back on his feet and faces where Erza was sitting only to find her gone.
"Where'd she go?" Grey asks, "She left while you were arguing with Cana and Sasuke." Macao states. "That's it, I'll find you Erza and get my revenge." Grey declares.
"What revenge is he talking about?" Cana questions, "His pride was broken, so he wants to challenge her… again," Sasuke explains. "That's stupid, he didn't have pride to begin with." Cana says, Sasuke sighs and gets up from his seat and walks over to the grouchy Grey.
"If you're going to challenge Erza, at least put some clothes on. You really seem like a pervert without them." Sasuke says, he then proceeds out of the guild and begins to walk home.
As Sasuke walks home he sees Erza sitting by herself on the bank of the Magnolia river. He decides to go check up on her even though he gets the impression like he always does, that she wants to be alone. "Erza… you doing alright?" Sasuke asks, Erza turns to look at him and tears are flowing from her left eye.
Erza quickly wipes away her tears as she says, "Of course I'm fine. Are you here to fight me in your pupil's place?" Sasuke shakes his head, "Of course not, Grey needs to fight his own battles. I'll only step in if I think he might die, and I don't think you'll kill him, at least on purpose." Sasuke says with a smile. "Now tell me what's bothering you, it's clear you're upset about something." Erza remains silent and turns to stare at the river.
"You don't want to talk about it. I get it, there's stuff I don't want to talk about either so I won't pry, but if you ever want to talk about it without anyone knowing… I can keep it a secret, after all that's one of the things us Shinobi are trained to do." Erza snaps her head back towards Sasuke with her one eye widens in shock. "Do you mean a ninja, are you really a ninja?" Erza says skeptically as she narrows her gaze looking for any trace of lying. Sasuke puts his index finger to his lips, "Shhhh, that is a secret. Not even Grey knows about it, even my mother didn't know. You're the only person I've told so it must stay between us okay." Erza nods with a smile.
"I'm glad you're smiling, you should smile more often. You'd make more friends that way, not only that if you want I can be there if you want to talk to any of the guild members if that helps." Sasuke offers, but Erza shakes her head once more, "No, I'm good thanks. But this talk has helped me a little, and if I ever feel it's safe to tell anyone what I was thinking about just now you'll be the first to know." Erza gets to her feet as she then turns around to see Grey running down the hill towards the two of them.
"Erza, I want a rematch!" Grey says as he comes in with a punch but Erza steps out of the way and Grey falls in the river with a loud, "Ahhh!"
Sasuke shakes his head in disappointment before helping Grey out of the water. "Are you done yet?" Erza asks. "Of course not, I won't be till I defeat you. It's bad enough that Sasuke can defeat me without magic, so I need to defeat you instead." Grey states. "Or, you can just train more and get stronger that way." Sasuke points out.
"Yeah but you're too strong, I can't even get a hit on you." Grey states. "Yeah, because I have more experience than you. So quit complaining and besides you're learning faster than I did when I first started. One day you might even surpass me in magic, so keep training." Sasuke says. "Are you just saying that to make me feel better, or do you really mean it?", "I sincerely mean it." Sasuke assures.
"Fine then, one day I'll beat you Sasuke and when that day comes I'll know I finally have gotten stronger." Grey concludes. "Wouldn't you know you'd gotten stronger if I started using magic against you instead." Sasuke deadpanned. "I guess, but how would I know if you're not doing it now by putting magic into the stick because it seems impossible to deflect magic with a mere twig, unless you're reinforcing it somehow." Grey states, however his observation is not wrong it would be impossible to do such a thing.
However Sasuke truly isn't using his magic when training Grey. Instead he uses his Chakra in enhance the durability of the stick so it won't break. "If you want to know how the stick doesn't break then get stronger, then I'll tell you." Sasuke says as he then turns around and goes home.
…
Sasuke opens the door to his apartment and sees the same blank, white colored walls with a small kitchen and a small island with one stool tucked underneath it with a window above the sink to the left of the room as he enters. A blue couch able to seat two people and a wooden coffee table in front of it along with a wooden chair across from it on the right side, and in the corner of the room is a small bookcase and the communication Lacrima. Across the room is a set of two doors the left one leading to his bedroom and the other the bath/laundry room.
Sasuke makes his way to the kitchen and opens the fridge and sighs finding nothing in the fridge to snack on. He then proceeds into the bathroom and removes his clothes and enters the shower turning it on with no heat. He cleans himself and exits the shower grabbing a towel from under the sink.
He then goes into his bedroom where it contains an everyday bed against the wall with a window on the left side of it, a closet and dresser along with a thick wooden board with slashes and holes in it. Sasuke puts on a pair of black sweats on from the dresser, but hears a noise from outside his room.
Out of instinct he conceals his presence and climbs up the wall of his room and above the door. The noise turns into footsteps as they get closer to the bedroom so Sasuke creates a Kuni with with ice make. The door begins to open as an unfamiliar man enters the room.
"It's clear, no one is here." The man says, as he goes back into the main room leaving the door open. Sasuke crawls out the bedroom window leading outside and makes his way to the kitchen window and peaks inside. There he sees three people in the room including the man from a few moments ago, one of the cloaked figures looks to be around the same height as Sasuke, the second one is just slightly shorter.
"Who the hell are these people, and why are they in my apartment?" Sasuke grumbled. "Are you absolutely sure the kid lives here?" The taller cloaked figure questioned. "Yeah, I did my research so you don't need to worry about it. Now Miss, my payment please." The man says gesturing to other cloaked figures. "Master Hades won't be pleased if you're wrong so you won't be paid until I see him with my own eyes." The figure says.
"That wasn't the deal! I brought you to where he lives and now it's your turn to hold up your end of the bargain." The man states. "Very well, here's your payment." The tall figure then takes out a sword and slices the man's neck.
"Why are we even here? I know that whoever lives here isn't apart of Master Hades's order. What are you playing at?" The tall figure asks.
"Nothing at all… I just wanted to see the Liar's face again, before I infiltrated the council that's all." The figure states, they then extend their hands out as a giant orb emerges from the figure's cloak and a purple magic circle appears in the room and the blood flows back into the dead man's body before the cut seals closed like nothing happened. The two cloaked figures and the dead man disappear and in their place an envelope slowly floats to the ground.
Sasuke enters the apartment through the kitchen window and walks over to pick up the note. But as he's about to pick it up he gets the feeling he shouldn't touch it so he backs away to the entrance of the apartment with the door open. He then throws his ice kuni at the envelope.
The envelope immediately exploded causing Sasuke to fly backwards slamming against the wall in the hallway.
Sasuke staggers to his feet as the area around him appears to be spinning and all he can hear is the sound of a high pitch ringing in his ears, his adrenaline is also running at its peak max making his body feel numb and shaky. "Was that a paperbomb? But I should be the only one who knows how to make them, unless that's a form of magic I've never heard before or… I'm not the only person who reincarnated in this world. But if that's true then who else is here? And what was that about infiltrating the council?"
So many questions so few answers will Sasuke be able to figure out who these people were or will it be a mystery for all of time... Stay tuned.
