A terrible accident, a grieving McCoy, and an attack on the Enterprise by an unknown species pushes Kirk to his limit. For the first time in his career, the captaincy may be a burden too heavy for him to bear…

A haunting discovery on a derelict ship sends Kirk, Spock, & McCoy on a search for answers that brings them in direct conflict with both a Romulan terrorist & the Federation's dreaded Section 31. All the while, this discovery sends McCoy's personal life out of control. With his friend's heart on the line & the Enterprise in danger, Kirk must do the impossible to save them all.

Jim encounters a diplomat who finds him very attractive. The problem is trying to avoid said diplomat.

"Spock, how long can you keep going like this? You won't make it back to the compound at this rate. If you stop now… I can still take care of you." "I will do what I must," is Spock's only response, and try as he might, Leonard cannot get him to say anything more.

McCoy-centric angst, romance, and adventure, pretty much in that order. The OFC has been in my writing since the early 80s. This is my first time publishing anywhere. Doctor Leonard McCoy, the Chief Medical Officer of the Starship Enterprise is not happy. He had to perform minor surgery on a female crewmember who got carried away performing an unusual act with her husband. A day like any other day for the CMO.
