The Pokemon Egg
Lincoln brings the Pokemon Egg back to the shore where the group looks it over.
"Where did that come from?" asked Alola Lana.
"It was mixed in with that seaweed and other debris, so it might've been brought here during the storm last night." Lincoln guessed.
"So Pokemon come from eggs?" asked Shane.
"Yes, they do." said Sophocles.
"Let's bring it to Professor Kukui's lab and have him check it out to see if it's okay." said Lincoln.
"Good idea." said Mallow.
After the group get back into their regular clothes, all of them, including Chandler, make their way to the beach that Professor Kukui's lab was on. When they get there, they see him hanging out on his front porch.
"Alola, Professor Kukui." said Lincoln.
"Alola, everyone." said Professor Kukui.
"This is a lab?" asked Chandler as he looks Professor Kukui's house over.
"The main part is in his basement." said Lincoln. "Otherwise, it's no different than a regular house."
"Whatever." said Chandler. "But I guess having a place by the beach is pretty awesome."
"So what brings you all here?" asked Professor Kukui.
"I found this." said Lincoln as he holds out the Pokemon egg that was in the ocean, surprising Professor Kukui.
"Where did that come from?" asked Professor Kukui.
"Floating on some seaweed in the ocean near Hau'oli City." said Lincoln.
"We don't know what condition it's in so we're wondering if you could check it out to make sure it's okay." said Lillie.
"Let me bring it to my lab and I'll examine it." said Professor Kukui. He leads everyone inside and leads them into his basement where he puts the egg on a lab table and uses some sort of scanning device to check it over.
"So, how is it?" asked Shiloh.
"As far as I can tell, it's perfectly intact." said Professor Kukui.
"That's good to hear." said Mallow.
"What do we do with it?" asked Shane.
"Why don't one of you hold onto it?" Professor Kukui replied.
"Really?" replied Shelby.
"Pokemon Eggs need to be properly stimulated in order for them to hatch." said Professor Kukui.
"Lincoln should since he's the one who found it and wanted to bring it to you to make sure it was okay." said Alola Lana.
"Yes, he's really caring." said Mallow with a blush as she looks at Lincoln as he blushes when the two make eye contact.
"If you all want me to, then I guess I can do that." said Lincoln.
"You'll need to put one of your Pokemon in storage since a Pokemon Egg is still considered one on your team." said Professor Kukui. He directs him to his PC that he has Lincoln use to transfer his Herdier to storage.
"How about sending Herdier to our house, bro?" asked Lynn.
"Good idea." said Lincoln. He then uses the PC to send Herdier to the Loud house; he then uses his Rotom Phone to contact his family.
"Hi, Lincoln." said Lynn Sr.
"Alola, everyone." said Lincoln.
"What are you up to now?" asked Rita.
"I just sent Herdier to the house." said Lincoln. "Could you give it to Lily?"
"Of course, honey." said Rita. Lisa goes to her room and grabs the newly arrived Pokemon and lets him out. Lily crawls over to Herdier and starts nuzzling his face, prompting him to lick Lily's.
"They, literally, look adorable together like that." said Lori.
"What else is new with all of you?" asked Lynn Sr. Lincoln then went over what they all did today, including Lynn getting her Fightinium Z-Crystal, and finding the Pokemon Egg that was currently in Lincoln's possession.
"So, Pokemon come from eggs?" asked Lisa.
"It seems so." said Lincoln.
"And the thing is; no one really knows where they even come from." said Professor Kukui.
"Fascinating." said Lisa.
"When's your next Island Trial?" asked Luna.
"I plan on heading heading back to Akala Island to try after school on Friday." said Lincoln. "We can use the rooms at the Pokemon Centers while we're there."
"Make sure to pay for the room you're all using in advance during that time so hotel staff doesn't throw out all your stuff." said Rita.
"Good call, Aunt Rita." said Shane.
"Maybe I'll do that also." said Chandler, not wanting that to happen to him.
"And we have guest rooms at our ranch that you can use if you want." said Kiawe.
"Sounds good to me." said Lincoln.
"Thanks." said Shiloh.
"Where is the next Akala Island trial located?" asked Shane.
"It's in a place called the Lush Jungle." said Mallow.
"What kind of Pokemon are in there?" asked Lincoln.
"We'll let that be a surprise." said Mallow with a smile.
"I can't wait to see for myself!" said Lincoln with excitement; the Pokemon Egg suddenly shakes a little.
"Seems our unborn friend here could feel your enthusiasm, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui.
"I can't wait to see what Pokemon hatches from it." said Lincoln.
"Me, too." said Shelby.
"I'll bet it'll be a super cool one." said Shiloh.
"Probably won't be as cool as me." said Chandler with a smug grin.
"Get over yourself, McCann." said Lynn, making Chandler frown at her. After that, the group leaves Professor Kukui's house and start making their way back to Hau'oli City, with Lincoln holding the Pokemon Egg close to him while being extra careful with it.
"You really care about the safety of our, soon to be, new friend there, Lincoln." said Sophocles.
"I want to make sure he or she hatches into a healthy Pokemon." said Lincoln.
"I'll bet he'll make a good father, Mallow." said Lynn with a smirk, making Mallow and Lincoln blush heavily.
"I-I'm sure he will." said Mallow before looking away with a small smile.
Once they get to Hau'oli City, they make their way back to their hotel rooms/homes, to just chill out for the rest of the day. Lincoln uses a couple of extra pillows and blanket to make a nest to put the Pokemon Egg on.
"You're really not taking any chances of something happening to that, cuz." said Shane.
"Just keeping it safe." said Lincoln as he gently rubs the egg with his hand.
"I'm sure it's tougher than a regular egg." said Lynn. "It did handle a storm and the journey from wherever it came from all the way here."
"Maybe; but I still don't want to take the risk of something happening to it." said Lincoln.
"Better safe than sorry." said Shelby. The group then head down to the hotel's restaurant for dinner, after making sure that their room door was locked and secured. Once they've all ate their fill, they take showers, and go to sleep.
Meanwhile, in Chandler's room, he was watching TV while thinking about Lincoln and Lynn's Z Rings.
"I need to get my hands on a Z Ring." said Chandler. "With one of those, I'd be unbeatable as a trainer. But I guess I should train up the Pokemon I got with me, maybe catch some new ones for my team. Just you wait, Louds; I will be the greatest Pokemon trainer of all time." He then turns off the lamp on the nightstand next to his bed and goes to sleep himself.
