Hey everyone, so this is another story that I half wrote and didn't come back to for a while. I do have twenty chapters written so far and am tinkering away with it. I am unsure how many chapters there will be in total but will definitely be a longer fic.
If any of my characters seem OOC please Remember I am writing a story that takes place almost a decade later. War changes people and leaves a mark that isn't visable on the outside, but it still affects you for years to come.
This story has two rare pairings if you can't tell by now the pairs are Hermione/Minerva and Harry/Narcissa. This fic is Rated M for Lemons and Language. There will be violence, drug use and descriptions of sexual assault. If this is triggering then I would advise not to read.
As always I don't own Harry Potter or any of it's characters. Please Review and tell your friends. Happy Reading.
Chapter One
Harry
Paperwork, more paperwork and yeah paperwork. In that moment I was contemplating why the hell I became a Auror? Maybe Ron had the right idea in leaving to help George in the shop, maybe I should change careers? Something Quidditch related. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch, I had the Quidditch experience that it would probably happen if I wanted to.
The war seemed like forever ago now and realistically it took me a long time to actually be a half decent resemblance of a human being. Throwing myself into gaining my titles, paying debts to Goblins, helping Hermione find her parents only to lose them again. By the time all of the dust settled and Ginny and I had broke up after grieving, I felt it hit me all at once and decided I needed to get my life into gear.
Auror training and fixing up Grimmauld Place became priority and now here I was head of the DMLE and I felt stuck, stagnant. Of course the never ending paperwork didn't help that situation.
A soft knock on my office door followed by a long set of dark curls and Hermione followed into the room. She smiled at what must have been my frustrated expression and came to sit Chinese Takeaway in front of me. My lunches with Hermione were great, they broke up my day and made me feel less lonely, she had grown into such a badass, I mean she always was but over the years she had grown up and was even more impressive.
"Satay for you and chow main for me. Are you alright?" It was a loaded question of course and she knew that but regardless I nodded my head and got stuck into lunch.
After the War Ron and Hermione didn't really work out, mostly because he hadn't kept it in his pants and cheated on her and also because a discovery of recent years showed Hermione Granger as a raging lesbian. Although she was single now when her relationship ended, this latest foray into the dating world seemed to put her off for a while and had been single ever since, as far as I know.
Don't get me wrong she seemed happy of course it took a breakdown, an addiction to potions aswell as copious therapy with a squib Psychologist to get her here but we came the other end of the War, surprisingly with all friendships intact.
"Sorry to interrupt boss, lady boss. Got a request for our presence at Hogwarts. Filius Flitwick says that Minerva has been targeted in some form of attack. Figured you would want in on it." Hermione looked worried at Draco whom had became a surprising right hand to me in the DMLE.
He worked harder than anyone else even myself and loved his work, after going through Healer training he decided to put his tasks to the DMLE and wanted to join the Aurors as a medic of sorts. Initially I was full of suspicion in the beginning but now at 28 he had grown and became a friend even to Hermione. From what I can gather she even had dinner with him, his wife and his mother once a month. The Malfoy Matriarch taught at Hogwarts now as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, she was amazing at it too all of my new recruits were well trained and mostly able to protect themselves.
"Let's get geared up." He nodded and smirked at Hermione before she summoned her coat and let a note fly that she was heading out to her team.
"I want to make sure she is alright, Minerva is my friend." I nodded and knew she could handle it, she frequently went out on missions with us when her job as an Unspeakable crossed with my own missions. Knowing she could take care of herself both of us met with Draco and apparated away to Hogwarts.
No matter how many times I see the castle it was always full of splender and wonder, feeling exactly the same as they did in first year. In the distance Filius Flitwick was slowly making his way down to the gates and smiled at us. If can't be that bad if there was a, smile plastered on his face.
"Ah Auror Potter, Auror Malfoy and Unspeakable Granger, I always knew you both were joined at the hip but Malfoy joining in on your quests seems slightly surreal I have to say. Just tap the wands on the gates there please and you will gain entry." One by one we did and a warmth enveloped me, something I loved was how the castle was almost sentient, I sometimes regret not coming back to the castle for my final year but there was too many ghosts and I knew it had affected both of my counterparts when they did return.
Malfoy made it his mission to do well after being acquitted from the Wizangamot with community service, Narcissa also after we testified for her, what I didn't know at the time was that Narcissa had helped Hermione in Malfoy Manor. She grasped onto Hermiones mind with Occlumency with great magical strain on herself and kept my sister from losing her mind. I would be forever grateful for her for that.
"What happened Professor? To Minerva?" We walked slowly back up the hill to the castle and the petite man looked troubled for a second before shaking his head.
"Honestly I am not sure, she went to have a drink with Abe and came back for dinner as usual, nothing seemed untoward until she said she felt ill, immediately she stood up and dropped to the floor. The children have been confined to their common rooms just so we can be sure it is an isolated incident and not something of a more severe nature." Hermione looked anxious for a second before I realised that this would hit he hard if Minerva was injured, she was a mentor to Hermione, a friend and I think there was even a crush during her last year in school not that she would have acted on it of course.
"Is she OK Filius?" Hermione stopped dead and grabbed onto the goblins arm and held him close to her. The older man looked up and nodded to Hermione as she let out a breath she wasn't sure she was holding.
"Yes, in a sense. Poppy thought it best to keep her sleeping until the spell, charm, potion or whatever it is that caused it levelled out." Nothing more was said but I guess I will find out soon enough, walking through the doors into the Entrance Hall felt like coming home.
If felt warm, loving and friendly. When I was a child I never understood it but Hermione did. She was always going on about the castles moods and feelings as if it was real. I only noticed when I left what this castle means to people and it was whole hell of a lot better with Minerva, at the helm. No offense to Dumbledore but he was more interested in moving people around like chess pieces.
It still looked exactly the same and yet walking into the hospital wing one thing was different. Narcissa Black was sitting holding Minervas hand and looking thoroughly distraught. I knew the two women had a good working relationship but not go this extent. I always thought Narcissa was as straight as a poker. I don't know now, she looked gorgeous regardless and had not aged a day in ten years.
Her blue eyes snapped to the door and upon seeing us she let out a breath as Draco came over to hug his mother. For the first time in what seems like a while she let go of the older woman's hand.
"Mum. Are you alright?" Upon her nod I greeted her with a small smile and Hermione gave her a small hug also.
The woman in the bed however was not Minerva McGonagall, well it was but she looked younger, her grey hair was loose and dark brown, her face was practically wrinkle free and she didn't look that much older than us.
"We think it might have been a potion, slipped into her drink at dinner, I don't know for what end but she doesn't seem to be in any pain and it's all starting to level out. I did some preliminary testing on the substance and it seems to be a potion but severely altered. Honestly I don't know if there is an antidote and realistically testing an unknown antidote on an unknown potion is extremely risky." I nodded and seen Hermione taking notes as Narcissa talked her through all of the finer details, compound ingredients etcetera when Poppy walked in.
She smiled at us all and hugged us close, shd had became alot more approachable after the War. I seen her alot at Anniversary Galas and dinners etcetera.
"It is balanced now, it hasn't fluctuated in fifteen minutes, Minerva McGonagall is 32 again." Blimey...32...she was only four years older than me, it was strange to see the usually severe older woman looking so youthful and yet the same as always. Where the hell do I start with this mess?
"Draco do you mind doing some interviews with me, we can split the houses and go from there. Looking at body language, guilty looks that kind of thing?" He nodded and grabbed his notebook before Narcissa offered go walk us out as she was doing final checks on the Castle before dinner. We decided to let the children go to dinner in the Great Hall and speak to them as a whole before splitting up and talking to them with their heads of House.
So as there was no conflict of interest I did Slytherin and Ravenclaw House and Draco opted for the GRyffindor and Hufflepuff. Narcissa was now the head of Slytherin, Charlie was the head of GRyffindor. Filius was still head of Ravenclaw house and Pomona was still head of Hufflepuffs.
Hermione just took the seat Narcissa had vacated and trailed out her trusty notebook to try and help us figure out what was going on. Narcissa walked between us and an announcement through the castle broke the lock down, before we even made it to the Great Hall students had appeared from every orafice and when they realised who we were they seemed excited but slightly weirded out to see Draco and I walking with their Defense Professor.
"I daresay you will be the talk of the castle boys, do keep up." When she walked ahead of us I couldn't help but linger on her figure. She truly was a gorgeous woman and the pencil skirt and white blouse she has on underneath her robes cut a very fine figure to be fair. A slap to my arm drew me out of looking at her arse as Draco glared at me.
"Potter, please stop drooling over my mother as if she was a steak!" Narcissa turned to me and luckily Draco was too busy glaring at me to notice but she gave me a soft smile and I was glad she wasn't offended. I loved riling him up so I just looked him dead in the eyes.
"She is a beautiful woman Malfoy." His face went red before she, stopped in front of us and took her son by the arm to stop the impulsive petulance I knew was coming.
"Come now Dragon! It is nice to be admired, by the chosen one." She smirked cheekily before she took us up to the podium and I couldn't help but think back to my own, student year and see Dumbledore standing up there with Snape brooding as usual. A silence descended the crowd as children finished taking their seats and aimed their attention at the Blonde Bombshell in front of them. Seeing most of the boys and a fair few girls looking at her I couldn't help but feel jipped slightly.
I mean if I had Narcissa as a defense teacher I would probably have had a fair few fantasies too. Although it could still happen and there has been a few wet dreams over the years.
"So as you all know there was an attack on the Headmistress. Being confined to your dorms were not punishment in anyway, we do however need to get to the bottom of this incident. So the Aurors have been called and will be carrying out a full investigation. If any student has any information regarding this please feel free to come to me in my office. I will be available for the next hour only, anything after that it's out of my hands." They were enraptured by her and as she stopped in the middle they actually seemed to lean closer to her.
" If no one comes forward and we do find out that a student of this school has essentially attacked the headmistress then we will have no choice but to expel the perpetrators and possibly even arrest them. So head back to your dormitory after dinner and Aurors Potter and Malfoy will be making their way through the houses to talk to you all."
As I looked out across the school I spotted a familiar purple haired wizard grinning up at me and waving. I couldn't stop the wave back and Narcissa and Draco excused themselves to head back to her quarters for a chat and with Pomonas permission I went to the Hufflepuff table to see Teddy.
Eyes were following me and now as an adult it didn't bother me as much but some of the older years were a little frightening. Either swooning girls or brooding boys were the only two wavelengths they had. My godson stood up to greet me with a handshake and I pulled him in for a hug.
After the War I was over to see Andromeda almost everyday in the beginning and we always traded off during the weeks, I looked after Teddy so much in the beginning and even as he got older. Christmas was spent with Hermione, Teddy and Andromeda before later being joined by Kingsley when the Minister started dating the older Black sister.
"Uncle Harry!" I pulled back from the small eleven year old as he scooted his friends out of the way and got me to sit down.
"Alright Ted? I hear good things from your teachers. You keeping your nose clean?" He nodded and offered me treacle tart. I spent ten minutes talking to him before asking him to come on a, walk with me. He jumped at the chance and even though he had only been in school for three months I missed having him home. Being at Hogwarts is great, seeing him was an amazing bonus to the unfortunate situation. I couldn't believe how grown up he was in such a short space of time.
We spent twenty minutes chatting before he introduced me to some friends of his, a young Lad from Ravenclaw who he met on the train and a young woman from his own house. I couldn't help but smile at him, it reminded me of Hermione, Ron and I. Pretty soon I had to go and start the interviews, I gave him a hug before heading away from him.
Walking down to the Slytherin common room I couldn't help but think back to my second year. Draco finding Ron and I in our Polyjuice disguise and leading us into the Common Room. The closer I got the more Green and a silver uniforms I seen and as I walked through the portrait door which opened for me with no password.
All sound fell around the room as I stepped onto the top step.a mixture of distrust, awe and amused faces greeted me and I crossed my arms in front of me and looked over at the sea of Students. I didn't say anything, just kept a blank expression on my face and tucked my wand up my sleeve.
"OK, so anyone going to come forward?" As no one moved I realised how long of a night this was going to be.

Hermione
Once Harry had left with Narcissa and Draco I couldn't help but turn to my mentor, my friend and someone I owe everything to. Minerva McGonagall lying in this bed looked so drastically different but the same all the same.
Her silver hair was now darker than my own, her face sat without a blemish or wrinkle. Yet underneath it all I could still see the woman I had shared so many cups of tea and glasses of wine with. Holding her hand in my own was still something I was getting used to.
I have always respected her, appreciated her and would be lying if there wasn't one or two secret fantasies over the years. It was only two weeks ago when things had changed between us.
No one was aware of my change in relationship, I wasn't even sure what it was, our weekly Friday night dinners had became so important to me and over the years she had became my best friend.
The kids of this school is going to lose their minds when they see how hot their headmistress is. I can't really blame them, I could see this statuesque woman in her teaching robes and she would command attention but earn respect at the same time.
"Hopefully she wakes up soon. Oh goodness I have no idea how this is going to go down? Let's hope she doesn't bring the building down in anger." Poppy Pomfry smiled at me before handing me a cup of tea, the healer had also became a friend as the year passed. It started with calling in everytime Minerva and I had tea or wine, it turned into such incredible conversations and laughter.
" I can't imagine Minerva losing control like that." Poppy laughed at me before shaking her head and touching her friend on the shoulder.
"Well let's just say she was brilliant in her youth but also frightening." Not knowing if she was joking or not I just smiled at her. Poppy and Minerva had been friends for decades and I am glad she has a good support system because this I going to be hard for her to adjust to.
A soft twitch alerted to to the fact that the older woman was slowly waking up, her eyes cracked open and upon landing on me she smiled. God seventy year old Minerva was gorgeous but upon seeing a thirty-two year old smile up at me I was a goner.
"Hermione. What are you doing here?" She looked around the room and noticed exactly where she was, Poppy came over and sat at the bottom of her bed and held onto her leg on top of the blanket.
"What happened?" She was wary and distrustful before she pushed herself up to sitting on the bed and her brows furrowed, looking down at her hands her eyebrows flew up to her hairline practically.
"It seems there was an incident at dinner, no one knows whether you were slipped something by accident or on purpose. Harry is here investigating with Draco. I wanted to see and make sure you were OK." She jumped from the bed and practically ran to the mirror. Upon seeing her face it fell and she was horrified.
"I...what...I don't understand. What has happened to me? I don't understand..." It seemed she was in shock, we didn't speak and just allowed her time to adjust.
"Was I spiked?" She pulled up her blouse she was wearing and traced her fingers across where I knew a large scar was from Umbridge. It was gone, scars and blemishes she had been used to over the years were gone and the panic in her face was frightening.
I walked over to her and put my hand on her shoulder in support, those green eyes were boring into my own and I felt it right down in my gut. Shaking her head she came and sat down in the edge of the bed as Poppy handed her some potions, a Calming draught and glass of whiskey which she downed in one huge gulp.
"How in the hell am I going to be able to teach looking like this? Oh God I am going to lose my job as soon as the governors find out about this they are never gonna let me stay headmistress." I shook my head at her to try and reassure her.
"Minerva, you're still you. You have the respect of the Wizaeding World and no one is going to stop that." A small nod and she held tightly onto my hand, causing flutters in my stomach. The door opening alerted us to Filius coming in, upon seeing him smile at Minerva I stepped back to allow them some time.
" Well, well, well. There's a face I haven't seen in a while. How are you feeling Min?" She hugged him and it seems that is what broke her. She cried for about ten minutes with him comforting her, they had became good friends over the years and it showed in their embrace.
"Godric I feel so unlike myself, all of these years, three wars Filius and scars littering my body and now they are gone, I feel so out of sorts. If they sack me I am going to recommend you take over, and Narcissa would make a good Deputy. She is smart, the children respect her and I need to know it's someone I trust taking over. " Filius shushed her and tried to reassure the woman that her job was safe.
" Minerva, I have already spoke to the Board of Governors and Kingsley. Your job is safe I promise you that, no one is going to sack you. Now from what I can gather it was a potion that you injested and Aurors Malfoy and Potter are speaking to the children. I am unsure how this has happened but we will figure it out. Take the weekend to rest and I can oversee all of the meetings, as you said Narcissa is a great help." She nodded at her old friend and sat down again on the edge of the bed.
" Minerva, are you alright heading back to your quarters?" She nodded and gathered herself together before Poppy and Filius left her alone. She smiled at me and came saundering closer to me and I couldn't help myself, I slowly wrapped my arms around her and felt content for the first time since Draco had interrupted my lunch with Harry.
"Thank You for coming. Can I interest you in a cup of tea?" I nodded and she hooked my arm in her own after fixing her teaching robes. As she had grown older she had always been very petite in stature but tall in height. As her robes were fixed to fit her new or I suppose old body she looked amazing.
Still tall and impressive but her waist was winched in and I couldn't help but notice the breasts which were a lot more apparent than before. I shook my head at her and when she noticed my smile her face fell.
"What? Do I look OK? It has been a while since I have had to adjust my robes?" I just shook my head and touched her arm to calm the frazzled look she had.
"You look amazing. I promise I just didn't think you could look any better than what you did but my god Minerva. You are gorgeous." A soft flush travelled across her face and the contrast of her pale featured and the bright red of embarrassment was endearing.
We walked closer and closer to her quarters and she was still holding onto my arm with the corridors quiet. The children currently being interrogated by Draco and Harry, she seemed content just walking quietly with me. No words were needed and we would figure out what was going on before anything more was done.
End of Chapter One. Please leave me a Review.
