Well… this got pretty good views, thanks guys.
I will try to make some changes the best I can (aka the duels) and there will be a few episodes that are not going to be in here since I'm more focusing Yami and Yugi.
Major changes will appear more in season 4, but that's going to be awhile, so I have time to change a few things here and there…
The more challenged will be season 5, the memory arc… oh, boy. If you guys have some ideas for those seasons PM me or leave a review.
And to explain, Yugi and Yami still have their mind link due to their strong bond and both will take turns wearing the Millennium Puzzle, but most of the time, Yami will be wearing it. Lastly, I will be asking you guys who Yami and Yugi will be paired up with.
Mm, I think that's pretty much it – oh, Yami's deck will not change much until the Battle City finals.
Thanks for the review, CaptainSammyAngel and thunder pony!
Well, onward to the chapter!
"It's your turn, boy," said Keith.
'Why is Keith acting strange? Keith never used rare cards unless if it's a machine type… I need to find a way to beat him,' thought Yami as he drew his card. "I place a monster in defense mode, and I end my turn."
"My turn," Keith drew his card, "I summon Seiyaryu (2500/2300). Next, I activate the magic card, Stop Defense!"
Yami's defense monster, Koumori Dragon was switched to attack mode.
"Zera the Mant, Devil's Claw!"
Zera slashed the dragon, destroying it.
Yami: 1500 to 400
The older Muto gritted his teeth as the electricity was much stronger. He holds on to the railing to not fall, but his body was taken a toll.
Through Keith's eyes, "Show me, show me if you are the man I think you are."
Yami, ignoring the pain, drew his card and smiled a bit.
"I summon Dark Magician (2500/2100) in attack mode, and I equip him with the magic card, Book of Secret Arts."
Dark Magician (2500 to 2800)
"Go, Dark Magician attack Seiyaryu! Dark Magic!" Yami said.
His trusted magician's magic destroyed the pink dragon, causing Keith's life points to hit zero. The moment it did, the chain on Yami's wrist unlocked.
Yami fell to his knees, trying to catch his breath. When he felt a bit better, he got up and noticed that the machine duelist was gone.
He didn't bother looking around as he gathered his cards and put them in his pocket. He waited for the platform to lower itself to the ground while holding onto the railing.
Yami winced a bit as he still feels the last shock. But just as he was about to step off the platform, he felt someone pull his jacket and threw him to the ground.
He looked up to see Keith glaring at him.
"So, it really is you…"
Yami was about to ask what he meant when Keith grabbed hold onto his neck. He was pulled up right to Keith's face.
"Before I kill you… tell me, how did you require a body? You should've been a spirit sealed in the Millennium Puzzle."
Yami widened his eyes, 'How did he know that?'
"Tell me!" Keith snapped as he tightens his grip on Yami's neck.
"… I… I don't… know!" Yami gasped.
"Wrong answer! Tell me!"
Yami was trying to get Keith to let him go, but with the lack of oxygen, he was fighting to stay conscious. Suddenly, the Millennium Puzzle activated, causing Keith to be pushed backwards, almost across the warehouse.
Yami was thrown and hit the wall behind him, causing him to pass out.
"Get up… Keith… get up and kill that boy!"
The machine duelist didn't listen as he gained control of his mind again.
"W-Who are you?! Get out of my head!"
Keith grabbed a pipe and started waving it around. Without thinking, he hit the controls of some machinery, causing sparks to fly and live wires to split, showering sparks on cans of gasoline and started a fire.
Not too far, the gang was following the trail of signs when they saw a plume of smoke rising. They dashed over where the smoke was coming from and saw the signs ended here.
Yugi was about to dash inside, but Joey stopped him.
"You and Tea get help while Tristan and I get Yami out," said Joey.
Yugi nodded and the gang split.
Inside the warehouse, the fire was spreading faster than usual, causing some debris to fall. Some landed on Yami's ankle, causing him to wake up.
The older Muto gritted his teeth before trying to get up but couldn't. He looked behind and saw that his ankle was pinned by some debris.
That's when he started to cough from the smoke.
'I need to get out,' thought Yami. He tried to pull himself free, but with the heat and the little strength he has, he couldn't.
Yami's breathing heavily as it was getting harder to breath. He tried one last chance to free himself but fainted from the heat.
Outside, Tristan and Joey were trying to break the door open with their shoulders as the handle was too hot to touch. When they did, Keith rushed past them shouting that the warehouse was haunted.
They ignored him and entered the burning warehouse and looked for their missing friend. They walked carefully, avoiding the fire until they spotted Yami on the ground.
"Yami!" Joey shouted, running to his friend.
Both noticed that one of his legs was pinned under some debris. They took some of it off until they were able to pull him out.
Outside, Yugi and Tea came back as they were waiting for the fire department to come.
Just as they could hear the sirens, Joey and Tristan who was carrying Yami in his arms, run out of the burning warehouse.
Yugi and Tea dashed over to them.
"Don't worry. He's going to be fine," assured Joey.
At the hospital, while Joey and Tristan were being treated for their minor burns, Yugi and Tea were in Yami's room. In Yugi's hands was the Millennium Puzzle as the nurses took it off when they were treating his brother.
The older Muto was unconscious with an oxygen mask. He had a few minor burns, his right wrist was slightly burned, a slightly bruised neck, and a sprained ankle.
"So, how is he?" Joey asked as he and Tristan entered the room.
"Alright. The doctor said that he wouldn't wake up until tomorrow," replied Tea.
"Was that fortune teller there?" Yugi asked.
"No, but Bandit Keith ran out when we broke down the door," replied Tristan.
"Why would he be doing there?" Tea asked.
Joey shrugged, "Who knows. He was shouting that the place was haunted."
Yugi sighed, "We wouldn't know nothing until tomorrow when Yami wakes up."
"Well, whoever took Yami tried to hurt him," said Joey, noticing the slight bruise neck.
Yugi got up, "I need to call grandpa and inform him what happen."
"I'll go out with you. Going to get some drinks," said Tea.
Joey grinned, "Yami is in safe hands with us."
Yugi nodded before he and Tea left the room. While Yugi headed to where the hospital has the phone stations, Tea was getting the drinks but, in her mind, she was worried.
'If what Joey said was true, who was it that tried to hurt Yami? Is he in danger?'
At the phone station, Yugi took a deep breath and called his grandfather.
"Hey, um, grandpa?"
"Yugi? Why are you calling? Shouldn't you be in class?"
Yugi laughed nervously, "About that. You see, um, well… Yami is in the hospital."
"…"
"Grandpa?"
"…"
Yugi had to cover the phone as his grandfather's shout was loud.
"Is he alright?"
"Yea, just a few minor burns and a sprained ankle," replied Yugi. He didn't mention the bruised neck as he didn't want him to get more worried.
"I'm heading over there with your mother… you do realize you need to inform him, right?"
"Um, I was hoping if mom could do that," said Yugi before sighing, "But you're right."
The small teen told his grandfather what room Yami was in before hanging up the phone. He then went to the bathroom and took out his cellphone.
He dialed a number and waited the person to answer.
"Yugi?"
"Hey, um, something happened," said Yugi.
After the call, the small teen headed back to Yami's room where Tea had returned with drinks.
"So, how did gramps take it?" Joey asked.
Yugi sighed, "Not so well. He and my mom are heading over here right now."
The gang stayed until it was getting late, and the gang left the hospital, leaving the Muto brothers alone. Yugi placed the puzzle under Yami's hand and then he placed his hand on top of his brother's.
He closed his eyes and felt the puzzle activating.
When he opened his eyes, he was in his soul room. He walked out and across from his door was the entrance to his brother's soul room.
Yugi opened his door and entered inside. He looked around until he spotted Yami on the floor. He dashed over to him, "Yami?"
The older Muto groaned before opening his eyes, "Y-Yugi?"
At first, Yami was confused to see his brother in his soul room when he remembered what happened. He tried to get up but only winced when he tried to move.
"Easy. Don't push yourself," said Yugi.
Yami wanted to say something, but his eyes were getting heavy and within seconds, he fell asleep again.
The small teen stayed a bit before heading out and woke up in Yami's hospital room. Yugi looked around and saw both his mother and grandfather were sleeping on the couch.
Yugi turned around to see his brother, sleeping before going back to sleep himself.
By morning, their mother and grandfather left after breakfast. Since it was Saturday, Yugi didn't have to worry about school and stayed by his brother's side.
Just as their friends came in, lunch was served, and the Muto brothers were eating. Yami didn't have the oxygen mask as his lungs were cleared from breathing the smoke.
"Are you alright?" Tea asked.
"Yeah, just a bit sore," replied Yami. He then smiled at them, "Thanks for the save, guys."
"Ah, what's are friends for," Joey said with a grin.
"So, any idea why that fortune teller took you?" Tristan asked.
Yami frowned, "That fortune teller was Bandit Keith…"
"What!?"
Joey clenched his hand, "That low life… if I ever see him, I'll beat the crap out of him."
"But why?" Tristan wondered.
"I have no idea, but what I do know is that Keith was being controlled," replied Yami.
"C-Controlled? Who was controlling him?" Yugi asked.
"Don't know… but whoever it was, he knew my soul was supposed to be sealed in the Millennium Puzzle," replied Yami, looking down at the puzzle.
"What!?"
"Not just that… he made Keith try to kill me," continued Yami.
The gang widened their eyes.
"But the puzzle somehow pushed Keith away from me," said Yami.
"Who could've done such a thing?" Tea asked.
"I have no clue," said Yami.
"Well, looks like we need to keep our eyes open," said Joey. "Don't worry, Yami. We'll protect ya from that creep."
"That's right," said Tristan.
"Thanks guys," said Yami, softly.
The gang stayed until they had to go home, and Solomon dropped by for a visit before heading home. It was night and the Muto brothers were still up.
"Right, something is bothering you. Tell me," said Yugi.
"It's nothing, really," murmured Yami.
Yugi narrowed his eyes, "Liar. Tell me."
Yami sighed, knowing he can never hide anything from the small teen.
"The person who was controlling Keith… he knows who I am," Yami looked down at his hands, "That reminds me how little I know about myself…"
Yugi widened his eyes, "Nothing!?"
"Nothing. I don't know who I am, where I came from, why my soul was sealed in the puzzle… I don't even know my real name," said Yami.
Yugi looked down, not knowing how to help his brother.
"But…"
Yugi looked up at his brother.
Yami's frown turned to a smile, "I don't care if I regain my memories from my past."
"Wha – Why!?" Yugi asked.
Yami touched the puzzle, "Somehow, I was given a second chance as your twin brother. I'm going to have new memories to cherish."
Yugi blinked his eyes before nodding.
"Yea… though it would be nice to know your real name at least."
"Mm, that would be nice," murmured Yami before the two fell asleep.
-Break Line-
Well, what do you guys think?
