Chapter 5-6: An End to This Disaster
After unleashing a powerful attack, Malleus takes deep breaths of exhaustion.
"Such...power… Foul...monster...!" Rollo says, and collapses on the ground.
Soon, the fire begins to go out.
"Rollo collapsed, and his flames went out... That means Malleus and Briar won, right?" Azul says.
"Dude, Malleus is out of breath. I can see why he wanted us clear. We could've easily been collateral damage," Idia says.
Just then, Malleus says, "Monster, you say? I believe the same label applies to you. Never did I expect someone's sheer obsession to cause me such difficulty. You have spirit, Flamme. I'll grant you that. If you still wish to fight, I'll indulge you," and begins approaching Rollo.
"Wait Mal…" Briar says, taking his hand, "Don't try doing anything rash."
But Rollo quickly says, "Wait! All right, all right! I accept...my defeat… Go on and ring the bell. That's what you came here for."
"I hardly need your permission for that. Dawn is coming on fast. It is imperative we ring the bell and wipe out the firelotuses. We can worry about what to do with you afterward," Malleys says, and turns as he begins to approach the bell to ring it.
"Yes... I understand…" Rollo says, but then smirks, " ...That you're a blithering oaf!" And begins to charge up his magic, "You never should've turned your back on me, Malleus! I shall turn you to cinders!" and fires his flame magic at Malleus.
"Malleus!" Azul & Idia call out.
"MAL!" Briar cries out.
Soon, the fire spread where Malleus stands.
But suddenly, Malleus says, "You utter fool…" and it's soon revealed that the flames have no effect on him, "I am Malleus Draconia. Do you think I'm afraid of a little fire?"
"Wh...WHAT?!" Rollo exclaims, shocked.
"Those flames are powered by fear, and he's just struttin' right through 'em… The next ruler of Briar Valley… Let us put an end to this disaster," Malleus says, and approaches the bell.
Rollo says, "No... Please, don't…"
Malleus grabs the rope of the bell and pulls on it, "...HRAH!"
"NOOO!" Rollo cries out.
Meanwhile, in Topsy-Turby Square, Professor Trein, Sereia, and the others are trying to stop the flowers they best they can.
Grim cries out, "MRAAAH! The flowers are right on my tail! C'mon, guys, bail your boss out here!"
"They just don't quit...!" Jasper says.
"I'm trying, but my hands and back hurt somethin' fierce!" Tanzanite says.
Trinket tinks as she tries to dodge the flowers. Sereia tries to keep the flowers away from her as she uses her water magic, but they begin to grow over the water.
"There's too many flowers, and they're starting to grow around on the water too," Sereia says.
Trein pants and says, "We've been drawing the firelotuses away, but it looks like you two are at your limit. I'm running on empty myself. My back's in so much pain it's gone numb."
"Hey, Trein! Do somethin', wouldja?!" Grim cries out and climbs on Professor Trein.
Trein yelps, "Ow, stop that! You are not welcome on my shoulder! You're heavy! Owww! Rgh... It's almost dawn. Things are going from bad to worse…"
Suddenly, they hear a loud sound of the bell ringing.
"Mrah?!" Grim yelps.
That's when everyone stops to hear the bell ringing.
"That sound…" Trein says.
Tanzanite says, "It's the Bell of Solace!"
"Which means the others must have made it to the tower in time!" Jasper says.
Back at the bell tower, the flowers absorb the magic from the bell, but begin withering from the large amount. Rollo is shocked to see what is happening around him.
Rollo says in devastation, "No... No, this isn't happening...!"
