Episode 19- Sooo bored.
"Hello, princess?. ~Princess~. Hey princess!" Getting no response, he sat on the ground, and exclaimed loudly "I. AM. BORED!" His shout was answered by lazy "Skirrr…" from nearby zergling, who was just lazing around.
He looked around, maybe something would hold his attention. Nope, same old, same old. A small zerg hatchery, a few drones going about their business, some zerglings milling or lying around, an overlord or two in the air.
He looked back at his original target. The chrysalis (He wasn't sure if he should name it like that, but it surely wasn't a cocoon). For now, it was smaller than him, somewhat, but only because of the added purple mass on his armor. He knew who that chrysalis contained, he smelled the distinctive presence of a certain ginger ghost. You could ask the question "Smell? There shouldn't be any, she's inside a pod" and yada yada. Rambled to his imagined listener Dobromir. "Yes, but I never REALLY smelled the psionics. It's like one strong psionic can feel another, I just perceive it as a smell."
"And if you wondered, did I sniff a zergling? Yes, under all those commanders, they smell like unwashed dog, with a weak hint of something weird, probably the spawning pool they sometimes swim in."
He laid on his back, put his hands on his chest, and watched the sky. Weather seemed to fight between sunny and cloudy, and this was a vicious fight. Wait, no, it was zerg and some remaining terrans were fighting in the sky. He had already seen it many times, and the feeling of overwhelming boredom intensified.
With nothing better to do, he decided to roll. Putting his hands above his head, he decided to reach some destination. The zerglings laid around the chrysalis watched as the infested began to roll, and decided to ignore him. Doing a fair impression of roller, he finally bumped into something. It was a weird small volcano thing, and deciding he wasn't interested in touching some of that green substance it was leaking, Dobromir decided to change his mode of transportation. He started to do jumping rolls, and quickly reached his starting point, laying face down in front of chrysalis.
Finally, events were sent into a motion, and Dobromir started hearing the Overmind. He catched "rise, my child", and something along the lines of "Protect the Chrysalis", but here raised his main problem. He was both blessed and cursed. Blessed because he was probably the most effortlessly integrated terran into zerg society there ever will be. But cursed because communication between him and other leading zerg were mostly useless. His famous hazy mind transferred to his life as a zerg, so he hears a lot of weird echoes when overmind speaks, making him hear like ten percent. The cerebrats, no at all. The interference was so strong, he couldn't communicate at all. At last the feelings part remained, so he was getting along with the common zerg like his best buddies. For now, he was commanded via images and feelings like destroy or protect. Dobromir was strongly counting on Kerrigan being his go between, so his overall purpose of Protect the Chrysalis wasn't bothering him in the least.
And it seems the cerebrate didn't know how to deal with him, and left with the feeling of Protect Chrysalis, same old same old. Dobromir changed his position, now with his back resting against the pod, his lance on laying on his left, and shield on right. Putting his hand behind his head, he observed the zerg scurrying around. At last it was less boring than before.
Mina felt empty inside, flying to her destination. Her only passenger, the former Magistrate, probably was feeling the nothingness pressing him from all sides. She understood. She was supposed to be a simple pilot herself, but somehow she ended up not only working with the Sons of Korhal, but she also flew her dropship thick into murderous aliens. If the leader of Tomato Riders didn't clear the air for them those few times, she probably wouldn't be alive today.
Magistrate, on the other hand, was supposed to just administrate a colony. He was prepared to deal with small threats at most, like pirates or small criminals. The meetup with the hordes of zerg shook him roughly, and the continuous campaign of Arcturus Mengsk didn't give him a chance to recover.
Both witnessed what happened on Tarsonis, and both of them stood on Raynor's side. But after the new splinters finally got off the planet, the two decided they couldn't really stand the pressure of EVERYTHING happening and decided to seek some much deserved rest, and bring the bad news. Po'midor was their destination, and they just hoped nothing happened to that beacon of hope, in the shape of a colony.
