I found them again—the pigmen. But this time, there's something different about their village...The village itself is much like the one from my first life—huts scattered around, the same clumsy creatures waddling about, snorting and grunting. But in the center, there's a King. At least, I think that's what he is. A bloated, oversized pig just sitting there, surrounded by strange obelisks. He doesn't move, doesn't speak. He just... sits. I don't know what to make of him yet. The other pigs seem to defer to him, but they act the same as the others I've encountered. They shuffle around, occasionally picking up food from the ground, eating it, and dropping manure. Useful, yes, but nothing surprising.
I spent most of the day observing them from the edge of the village. The pigs are curious creatures, neutral for the most part but prone to bouts of aggression if anything monstrous comes near. I've seen them attack spiders without hesitation, swarming them in a frenzy. It's a survival instinct, I suppose. They fear the dark, and they'll follow you if you offer them food. What's more interesting is how easily they're influenced. A bit of food, and they'll fight by your side or even do some work for you. It's like they've given up any sense of autonomy in exchange for the safety of their huts and the occasional meal. A simple, transactional existence. Then there's their King. He just sits there, doing nothing, surrounded by obelisks. I can't figure out his role. Is he their leader? Their god? He certainly doesn't act like one. And yet, there's a strange energy in the air around him, something almost... mystical? I haven't approached him directly yet—something about the obelisks gives me pause. There's power here, I can feel it. But what kind, I'm not sure.
The pigmen are simple.. They live in these little huts, eating and fighting, producing manure, and bowing to their King. But it's all so empty. They follow without question, fight without reason. What would happen if their King weren't there? Would they still act the same, or would their society fall apart? I'll stay here for a while longer, observe them more closely tomorrow. There's more to this village than meets the eye, I'm certain of it. The pigs are useful, yes, but there's a danger in their simplicity. They could turn on me just as easily as they fight for me. I'll need to keep my distance... for now. Night has fallen, and I've built a small campfire just outside the village. I can hear the pigmen snoring in their huts, their King still sitting silently in the center of it all. It's almost peaceful... if you ignore the darkness just beyond the firelight.
