Care Not, Save Lots 2 - (Magical Girl Xover, Akumatized!SI)

Today is my first 'official day' on my new 'jobs' and... I learned the civilian identities of Chat Noir and Ladybug.

Okay, I admit that it took me a bit more than I had wanted, but considering that my boss had failed to accomplish this simple hurdle until now, I could tell that I had won the world record. Marinette Dupain-Cheng was the red one, and my young charge, Adrien Agreste, was the cat-themed hero.

Ironic how father and son were trying to do good in their own ways. The former quite unsuccessfully considering the pure greed corrupting him into craving all the power available to secure what he wanted rather than what he truly needed. The latter was now hoarding power and was trying to live the best possible to favor his life and those around him.

None was truly getting anywhere in saving the woman that was missing in their lives, but Adrien was a young man that learned that life was not one thing you can play with that degree of manipulation. Hence why I was very unsure on how to approach those two.

Hawk Moth wanted a confrontation - it didn't have to be a successful one. But he wanted me to 'test my worth' against them. In layman's terms: he wanted me to show that I could bite as much as I barked.

Irking, but I had already planned a potential clash- a game. I wanted to see if I could truly outpace them but also put myself in a spot to 'lose' by technicality. All I had to do was to pick my battlefield and make it absolutely unfair for my temporary foes.

I found a nice enough rooftop after leaving 'Master Adrien' at school, from there I bought a few items that were needed for some makeshift traps and... it was ready. The big-brained trap was prepped for the match, but I had to find a way to attract their attention- which was simpler than it sounded considering I had gotten a grip over the cartoonish.

"Heyo people down below!" I bellowed from the edge of the rooftop. "It's ya boy, Akuma Angelus! The guy that tricked Chat Noir and Ladybug a while ago. I have some juicy news for y'all!"

I paused a moment, looking as the people by the streets had paused and... most had taken their phones out. I felt a smile creeping on my face as this was going as intended.

"Let me tell ya one thing! I know the true identities of these heroes!- And if they don't come here within ten minutes, I'll tell the world about them. If they think this is a bluff, I am willing to bring up the first letter of their names! Chat Noir starts with an 'A' and Ladybug with a 'M'. You heard me, the game is now up!"

I walked away from the edge and-

How do you know their names?

I don't. I am relying on a little trick I learned at ciphering school. Tricky stuff.

I hope this 'trick' works then.

So easy!

I didn't even need to wait long that the duo arrived at a fashionable early timing.

"Just give up, Angelus!"

"Nuh-huh, pretty boy. You may need more than just cool liners from comics to 'frighten me'," I shot back, causing the cat-themed boy to scowl. "Think what you want but... I am the one in control. And you already lost by coming here."

"Why?" Ladybug asked, taking a step forward... and slipping on the extremely wet floor. "W-What is-"

She tried to get up, but the girl tripped again, eyes wide open as she realized the floor wasn't wet with water- but with oil. Extra slimy, extra slippery, and atrocious to one's hair.

"My lady!"

Chat went to the rescue and... he tripped on the oil too. He almost found balance, but he was hit by something courtesy of yours truly- I hurled a net at him. He tried to sidestep it, but the slippery ground made it difficult for him to dodge it. Then I hurled a second net at Ladybug and hummed.

"This is what happens when you try to face such a big-brained threat! And now gimme the pretty jewels, kiddos."

They struggled. A lot. I was, however, planning to give the biggest pair of blue balls a man like Gabriel Agreste warranted. I slowly moved to not slip in the oil and... I gasped.

"Curses! You have set up a security barrier around your Kwamis! I can't breach it!"

Both paused a moment, confused, and I turned back to growl at no one. "Boss, how come you didn't tell me about it?!"

W-What?

"The Kwami! They are protected by a tiny electric barrier. I can't breach it!"

I was- I am completely unaware of- but others have almost gotten them!

"Well, it's clear they actually did some research and worked on a solution to this sort of situations. I am out for now!" I exclaimed, turning to the two confused kwami-holders. "You may have won this one by a trick, but I will back!"

And I was off. I felt a bit 'sad' for leaving the two teens in that spot, but I felt particularly smug for having tricked my boss. I heard him rant a bit through our mental link, but he was soon off, clearly planning to see a solution to this new 'problem'.

I would just need to work my way into 'loyalty' with the man, find out where his own Kwami was and-

It will not work, John.

I almost tripped mid-retreat, eyes wide open as I realized this new voice, softer and younger, had read into my thoughts. I stopped by one of the distant rooftops from where the 'battle' had unfolded, and I shifted to find some cover as I addressed this unexpected interjection.

W-Who-

A friend. Maybe. But your plan will not work. Gabriel already distrusts you. He sees you as too 'clever' to be controlled.

Now, that was flattering. And worrisome.

And?

And I am willing to... help. But I want you to follow 'my' plan.

Which is?

Doing the right thing. After all, you are not a villain, John.

I am not.

I heard a relieved sigh from the other side of the mental link.

My name is Nooroo, and I am the Kwami that gave Gabriel the means to become Hawk Moth.

That was a surprise.

Hello Nooroo. If I may ask... why?

I am not a bad person. I refuse to give Gabriel any more help since... you are here.

What do you need me to do then, Nooroo?

Come to me. I am at the observatory at the Agreste Manor.

Nodding, I carefully made it back to the manor. I didn't have much to worry about as I slipped through the security by keeping by the rooftop and then entered the observatory through one of the open windows.

As I landed on the ground and looked around to find who had called for me, I was surprised to find something tiny, fragile, and somewhat cute slowly descent from his post near the room's largest window. With a fuzzy-looking pale-purple body, the butterfly kwami appeared as one of the most harmless things available. It was difficult for me to imagine he was the sole reason why Gabriel Agreste could do so much bad shit.

"You made it. You- You are faster than I thought you were."

I turned back to my human form as I greeted Nooroo. "Hello there."

"H-Hi," The shy pale purple kwami replied. "You are... you want to help for real?"

I nodded. "While I wouldn't say I am the goodiest of boys, I am not a bad guy. Your owner is not nice."

"He is evil," Nooroo muttered, looking ashamed. "A-And I helped him. I thought he wasn't bad- that he really wanted to resurrect his wife but-"

"He is not seeing how this wish can go awry, and he is doing a lot of bad stuff to get to that unsavory result."

Nooroo's eyes widened and he smiled. "Y-Yes! That's what upsets me. He knows- he knows it will not be enough but..."

The kwami paused, and I sighed.

"We will stop him."

That response made Nooroo smile absentmindedly.

What a haunted look he had on his tiny fairy-like face. "I-I hope so, John."

Mascot detected! Next time, a Marinette POV and... John does something to get the attention of the two heroes on the case as part of Nooroo's plan.
