It's the next day already.
So far The Leaflet, our bookstore has been going smoothly. Bunny was helping the customers at the register with one of our Bangboos while Spot was fixing up his. I had already headed out despite after what happened the other day. They were relieved I was ok...but they still worried. Ah. Someone walked in. Our lovely yet sly information and supplies provider: Rubin. The kitsune lady looked at the two and grinned.
"Awww the little doggy and bun bun today? I'm guessing the dragon cutie went on her own again huh? A shame I missed her~" Rubin sighed "Hows your...business going hm? Need any help?"
"We're fine...so please stop trying to steal from my cash register," Bunny deadpanned.
"Ah- It seems I'm losing my touch! I'm getting old...~" Rubin sighs. Bunny rolled her eyes. Even if Rubin gets older, she still looks young. Then again Bunny didn't like her or Nicole. Them and their...stupid lucky genes.
"You're glaring holes in her chest Bunny...at least make it LESS obvious..." Spot muttered sheepishly. "Um...is there anything you need today?"
Rubin giggles and gives him a headpat, "Just visiting my favorite business partners~ but I also wanted to let you know to avoid the companion hollow today. The vision corporation is moving bombs to a detonation area soooo...could be dangerous!"
...Oh they got a bad feeling about that.
"Mind uh...sharing the location...?" Bunny asked. Spot was already searching it up on the H.D.D. As he did, Nekomata ran in with Nicole's Bangboo.
"We have an emergency! Nicole and the others are- MMMPH-!" She was hushed by Rubin's tail.
"Be a liiiittle more careful kitty. There's people here..." Rubin side eyed her threateningly despite the sweet smile she had, making Nekomata a little freaked out. But luckily she was taken to the staff room to explain what happened.
"T-They ended up staying to help the people stuck there! If they don't get out of there, they'll be blown to smithereens! So I came here to ask for YOUR help!" Nekomata was genuinely worried. They could even see that. She wasn't a bad person at least.
Spot nodded, "Dammit...W-We have to get in contact with Lisa..." He managed to connect to me finally, "Lisa? Can you hear me...?"
"...yup. And no I'm not heading back until these people have been extracted," I said bluntly, already knowing they were gonna try convincing me otherwise, "I've made up my mind. I'm not changing it-"
"YOU CRAZY IDIOT-" Bunny screamed through communication, "Can you at least inform us BEFORE attempting to go against a random corporation?! We could get exposed! And boom you AND the cunning hares arrested!" Ow my fucking ears-
Nicole giggles, "Oh please Public security would be so wrapped up in THIS scandal that we could easily slip past them~! We just need a way to escort these gold mines- er- these LOVELY people to safety!"
"Well...problem with that is going through the hollow. To avoid more fights and protect the people, we'll need to cut through the hollow. And even with FAIRY hijacking the train for transportation...we still need to worry about the possibility of corruption," Spot sighs as he works hard tapping away at the computers, "We COULD make the hollow smaller by defeating a superior ethereal in that area but that's too risky- i would suggest trying to weaken it before using the explosives to finish it off...but it's safer to-"
"So-" I cut him off, "I just...gotta beat its ass?" Sounding a little too excited making everyone sigh.
"W-Wait you really don't have to-!" I hung up on him, "It was only a suggestion...! ...shit."
"Man you fucked up doggo- even the kitty headed off to join in..." Rubin chuckles, knowing the girl's plans to try and redeem herself as she heard her talking to herself before running off "Welp...time to sit back and watch~"
I giggle, "Oh Billy~! Time to get some action in!" I twirl my crowbar around.
"Really?! Oh man FINALLY! My girls have been restless!" Billy twirls his guns around "I'll cover your back with firepower!"
"Hell yeah! Let's go beat that Dead End Butcher's ass!!!" I exclaimed.
"YEAH-!!!

Wait what-?"
I flipped around to dodge the ethereal's attacks, twirling my crowbar around to hit any weak points as I ran around it. I almost got caught in an attack but Billy quickly countered it with his bullets, allowing Anby to swoop in and slash at the monster.
"You could have been a LITTLE more specific about our target Y'know-!" Billy managed to say.
"True. But seeing your face was worth it!" I laughed but had to summon my dragon tail to counter another attack "Fuck this guy's tough...!"
"Don't worry! We just need to weaken it until the explosives arrive! And with our teamwork, nothing can go wrong!" Billy said proudly as he dashed in to cover for Anby.
"Dont fucking jynx it..." I rushed in after him, sliding down from below the monster to swing my crowbar. It stunned it, giving Anby the opportunity for a follow up attack.
"It's getting weakened...But the train is late," Anby noted.
"Damn it...FAIRY managed to hijack the train but the debris on the tracks have to be cleared!" Spot said through the call, "The train might be late..."
"What...?! We don't have that much time!" I then got an idea, "...Nicole! Hop in! I'm going to get the explosives! And when you hear me coming? Duck for cover!"
"Huh-?! Uh...ok! Just hurry back! Don't leave us hanging...!" Nicole shouted.
I summoned dragon wings to fly quickly to the train. It's definitely stuck. I quickly flew down to unhook the train car that had the explosives, pushing the train car. I struggled but I used all my strength and flapped my wings to push the train car through the rubble, making it zoom down the tracks and aiming right at the ethereal.
"MOVE BITCHES- SHIT IS ABOUT TO BLOOOOOOOW-" I shouted.
"Huh...? HUH?! SHIT- GET BACK NOW-" Nicole dragged Billy and Anby to a safe spot.
The train car flew right into the ethereal's face and I quickly joined them for cover while Anby made sure her sword was lodged in so the electricity would hit it. FAIRY counted down...but nothing's happening?
Bunny was flabbergasted, "...Seriously? HOW DO YOU DO A COUNTDOWN WRONG-?!" The Ethereal was getting up-
"Eek-! Why isn't it going faster-?!" Billy panicked.
Nicole was shaking me around, "ARE WE GONNA DIE-?!"
"DAMN BITCH CHILL ITS NOT MY FAULT," I was getting dizzy.
"Apologies- recounting- 321-" FAIRY said that mad fast as FINALLY the lightening hit the sword and the explosion went off, destroying the ethereal.
Just in time too...as when we finally got back, we last minute saved Nekomata from that crazy corporate nightmare lady and her team. She unfortunately escaped. Dammit i wanted to punch her and the president for this mess. But Nicole called Public Security and Belebog industries got involved. Still...Im just glad everyone is ok. Ah. I feel someone wrap an arm around my shoulders.
"Woooo that was awesome! We make a great team Y'know?" Billy said.
I chuckled and playfully bump into him, "Starlight knights be jealous of our skills!"
"Haha right?! You get it! We should totally celebrate at the arcade!" Billy said excitedly
"Heh yeah...id love that!" I giggled. Anby and Nicole watched us talking and sighed. We shared brain cells they swore.
"...is this what a third wheel feels like?" Anby asked being genuinely curious.
Nicole sighs, "Just...let's leave them be."
I ended up coming home pretty late. But it was an adventure for sure! Though a damn headache. Wasn't this commission SUPPOSED to be about getting a family heirloom...? How did it turn into fighting an entire corporation and a big ethereal??? I definitely need a break...hm? I noticed Rubin waiting for me.
"Great job as usual. My dragon cutie always is ready to help others...as per usual." Rubin sighs, "...but still reckless. That was dangerous yknow. But...it's refreshing seeing you actually depend on others more."
"Huh...? Thanks...?" I tilt my head, "...why did you come here?"
"...I just want you to be careful out there. There might be some people who...don't exactly like you as much as I do," Rubin admitted, "I simply want you to be more...alert."
I sigh, "Oooooh I see. Asil again huh? Thanks for the warning. That lady is...definitely a pain in the ass. But don't worry. I'll be careful."
"Good girl~" Rubin patted my head, passing me a frosted brownie, "Get some rest! You deserve it!" With that she left. Such a mysterious yet nice lady. Huh...? Wait...
I never told her my favorite snack was brownies.
