Time Line: Warring clans era lasted for 1280 years. This war started after 23 years the Sage of Six Paths died. So Konoha was founded in 1303
Naruto was a child who was disliked by most the populous. They thought he was a bomb ready to explode, in this case instead of a n explosion, there would a massive nine tailed fox which would completely wipe out their village. The ones knew of his parentage or the ones who trusted the Yondaime's didn't believe he was a ticking bomb would just ignore him for the most part, the only ones who actually care for him were Hiruzen Sarutobi, Jiraiya and Kakashi Hatake. Kakashi felt too guilty and depressed over his team mates' death and on top of Minato's death, Kakashi felt as if the ones who he got close to always died. When Jiraiya saw Naruto, he had a huge wave of sadness wash over him because Naruto looks just like Minato, so he also left. Hiruzen being the Hokage, limits his time severely, so Naruto was neglected a lot. Danzo didn't help Naruto's situation when he used his Root Foundation to spread the word that Naruto is the Jinchuriki.
Naruto left the orphanage at the age of 3 with the Hokage's support since he wasn't treated well there. Naruto wasn't taught how to read, wasn't given enough food, got mistreated by most of them there. So he had a care taker who taught him the basic necessities required for one to live alone until he was 4.
Konoha 8th of January 1362 AD,
12 : 30 PM,
"So from what I saw from the academy students, I am supposed to meditate and try finding the warmth in my body," Naruto muttered to himself. Naruto spied on the Ninja academy to see what they learn there. He was a very curious child, and he wanted to know what it is like to be a ninja, like his idol the Yondaime Hokage.
So he decided to sneak into the academy and see what they learn. He had learnt that ninjas have to be deceptive first and foremost, this was the first lesson the academy teachers taught the new students which emphasized on its importance. Naruto occasionally sneaks into these classes so as to not get caught, this time around he got lucky with getting to see how to unlock one's chakra.
Most clan children and children of ninjas unlocked their chakra when they were about 4 years old, but the civilian students unlock their chakra at the academy when they are about 6 since they didn't have the resources for it, and even if they did, their parents wanted their children to enjoy their lives before entering the academy.
He knew it will take some time since in the academy, some where trying for hours on end. So after 30 or so minutes of trying, Naruto felt a small warmth on his stomach, and he tried to pull on it. Suddenly he opened his eyes to see a dark place which.
He walked around the place and soon made his way to a huge place. There was huge bars of metal holding back something. The place seemed to be eerie and dark, with a small yellow light illuminating it.
Then suddenly, a huge red eye with a slit opened up. Naruto's eye brows rose up.
"Hello warden," The being greeted.
Naruto's eyes furrowed.
"You must be the nine tails, right?" Naruto asked the being.
"Hahahaha! You are quite smart aren't you brat? The nine tails said, showing his full form off.
"Hmm, just as I expected. No wonder people don't like me, they think I am you," Naruto said to the nine tails.
"Yes, most of your puny village are idiots!" The nine tails said with a grin.
"So from my conversations, I got to know that you are not a being with no consciousness. Then answer me, why did you attack the village?" Naruto asked with squinted eyes.
The nine tails thought over about what he was going to say. Naruto was young and influenceable, but Naruto was also quite smart so it won't be easy to fool him.
"I was controlled to attack the village," Nine tails replied to Naruto's question.
"I was taken out of my previous container and put in a sharingan's genjutsu, this forced me into attacking the village. Trust me brat, I have been stuck in this village for the past 50 years, so I want to do nothing but escape from this place," He continued.
'So he is also misunderstood like me,' Naruto thought with a bit of sadness.
"Why don't you be my friend then?" Naruto asked.
"What? hahaha, why would I want to be a friend of a puny human child?" The Nine tails asked with amusement.
"Well, you are also misunderstood by people. Just like people think I am you, or a bomb, you are also misunderstood by thinking that you are just a weapon or a demon who wants to only kill," Naruto answered (Using Talk no jutsu!).
The nine tails' eyes had his eyes widened. The boy actually thought from his side, Naruto might have been a child, but it doesn't disregard his views since Naruto was ignored and even hated in his own village, so his point of view on the world is more mature than most others.
"Hmm, very well brat." the Nine tails replied. "So, what's your name then?" Naruto asked. The nine tails eye's rose up a bit.
"What makes you think I have a name?" The nine tails asked with curiosity.
"Well, the one tails has the name Shukaku, and the 3 tails has the name Isobar, so I guessed you must have a name as well," Naruto answered.
"Well, my name is Kurama," The nine tails reslakeed.
"My name is Naruto!" Naruto reslakeed with excitement.
Both of them smiled.
"I was originally here for unlocking my chakra, so is there anything I can do to unlock it?" Naruto asked.
"You unlocked your chakra the moment you entered here, so there is no need to worry brat," Kurama reslakeed.
"Oh nice! oh, uhhhh how do I exit my mindscape?" Naruto asked.
"You can just your will to leave, but I can also expel you from here," Kurama reslakeed.
Naruto suddenly woke up in the clearing, but it felt as if barely any time had been spent.
"Yo brat!" Kurama yelled out.
Naruto yelped out.
"Hahaha! I can speak through your mind, if you want to reslake, just think what you want to say" Kurama said.
'You could have said that before!' Naruto thought.
"It wouldn't be funny though," Kurama retorted.
'Can you teach me something?' Naruto asked Kurama, after all Kurama was there for over a thousand years, so there must be something Kurama might know.
"well, I can teach you chakra control," Kurama said.
"It's very important for you to learn it. Since you have more chakra than a genin and have no chakra control, so I will be teaching you more chakra intensive chakra control and slowly warm you up to chakra control which requires more control and less chakra," Kurama said.
'Oh, so what are the exercises you are going to make me do?' Naruto asked curiously.
"First, you won't be doing do it today since you just unlocked chakra, I will plan out about what you will be training in," Kurama answered.
'Alright,' Naruto accepted.
January 9th,
8 : 30 AM
"You will not be using your bi-weekly stipends much. You will save most of it for later for something important. For food, you will be foraging and hunting for it. Past training ground 25 it's mostly forests. You can gather many fruits and vegetables as well as catch small animals like rabbits and if lucky, boars there. You can spend some for eggs and milk as well since it will help you have a good variety of food. This will improve your diet enough to get you enough nutrients to grow strong, " Kurama lectured.
Naruto seemed to be fast asleep. "Wake up brat!" Kurama yelled in his mind.
'Woah woah, I was just kidding Kurama. I will do that alright,' Naruto reslakeed in a placating manner.
"We should get you started with your training. You can't yet do the chakra control I have in mind for you because you are physically not strong enough. You will have to do stretching, 5 rounds around the training ground, 2 sets of 30 sit ups, 2 sets of 10 push ups..." Kurama went on and on, listing each exercise Naruto has to do. Naruto was pretty stooped, Kurama went on and on listing the various exercises Naruto has to do which gave him a head ache. And Naruto was baffled that he has to repeat all those exercises 3 more times after completing them.
Naruto spent 4 hours doing what he was told before going to the training ground 25.
"Not it's time for you to hunt brat. Since you are just a small kid, you will be fishing for a while and gather more fruits and vegetables," Kurama said.
'Hey! How many times do I have to say that I am not a brat, you over sized fur ball!' Naruto yelled back in his mind.
Naruto, with a lot of help from Kurama managed to gather the correct type of berries, fruits and vegetables, and even managed to catch some fish.
This went on for a long while, Naruto met the Ichirakus' and had spent more time with the Hokage, who was more than happy to give some books on basics of the Ninja arts. Kurama helped him learn some of the complex theories which he didn't understand since Naruto is still a kid.
Konoha,
Training ground 25,
February 13th,
8 : 20 AM,
"I believe you are physically strong now. You can handle the strain this chakra control requires," Kurama said.
'Is it really that hard?' Naruto asked curiously.
"The chakra control is hard, but to even get started of with it you need enough upper and lower body strength to pull it off. If you were weak, your body won't be able to handle the strain of being in that position. This exercise will increase your upper body strength in addition to your chakra control," Kurama said.
'Oh, so what is the exercise exactly?' Naruto asked.
"You will have to climb trees using only your feet and chakra. This works on the principle that chakra applied to your feet in a certain way can give both a suction and repelling force. You will have to put the exact amount required for your body to do it since it varies from person to person. The more you do it though, the less chakra you need and the better chakra control you will have," Kurama explained.
'Alright! I will start now!' Naruto shouted enthusiastically in his mind.
"Don't yell you brat!" Kurama chastised.
Naruto trained for hours on end on the exercise, he didn't have good control because he already has the same amount of chakra as some genin do despite being just a little over 4 years old. Naruto tried and tried for the next whole week on this exercise until he managed to get on top of the tree.
February 22nd,
"Finally! I made it!" Naruto shouted from atop a tree.
"Don't yell you brat! you still have to practice it until I deem you ready for the next chakra control exercise. For now I want you to get back into the physical workouts since you are still significantly weaker than most people. After all you have a certain advantage over others in that aspect," Kurama said for which, "What is it?" Was Naruto's response.
"You are from the Uzumaki clan, and on top of being my jinchuriki makes you heal rapidly from any injuries. This includes the minuet muscle tears and sore muscles you feel after training. This lets you train much longer and more efficiently on top of better results making you a good taijutsu user. This added with the fact that you will have humongous chakra reserves will make you a terrifying foe to fight," Kurama answered
'Woah,' was Naruto's response.
"Yes brat. consider yourself to be lucky with receiving all such great gifts," Kurama reslakeed.
'Hmhm!' Naruto reslakeed with vigor and a feel of luckiness.
March 7th,
2 : 23 PM,
"Ahhh, walking in water is very hard!" Naruto shouted annoyed at the fact that he got himself and his cloths wet.
'Why didn't you tell I will fall into the water like that!' Naruto shouted at Kurama.
"Why would I have to state the obvious brat? Did you forget that you fell a lot when you were practicing the tree walking exercise?" Kurama retorted back.
Naruto's silence told everything. 'Gosh, why didn't I think of that,' was his thought.
"Huff! That's because you are dumb!" Kurama reslakeed.
'Ughhh, I really need to find a way to shut you of some of my thought,' Naruto retorted at Kurama.
"You wish!" Kurama reslakeed smirking at Naruto's childishness.
Naruto went on training for the rest of the day.
Kurama was surprised Naruto got it down by the end of the day.
'This brat, how could he do this chakra control exercise within 1 day? He took over a week to just get on top of the tree, but now all of a sudden he is able to walk through the lake without much as a sweat! His chakra control is growing exponentially!' Kurama thought with surprise and awe.
'This means I can make his training harder I guess,' Kurama thought with a bit of glee.
Now Naruto's training was up a notch. Naruto trained mostly on top of water so as to always keep practicing his chakra control and increase his reserves. He trained with some more advanced chakra control exercises like kunai balancing, chakra burst ( It is basically Hyuuga's technique on using their all tenketsu. So this improves one chakra control by letting them gain access to all their tenketsu) and many more.
October 10th,
Naruto's apartment.
'Hmm, it's 7 : 30 AM now,' Naruto thought to himself.
"Happy Birthday brat!" Kurama said.
'Thanks Kurama!' Naruto reslakeed with happiness.
There a knock at the door. Naruto recognized the chakra signature to be of Hiruzen Sarutobi, or known more formally as the Third Hokage.
"Wait!" Naruto shouted, he quickly went up to the door and opened it with a megawatt smile.
"Hahaha, happy birthday Naruto kun, how are you doing this fine morning?" The Third Hokage greeted.
"Thank you! I am doing well Grandpa! How about you?" Naruto greeted.
"I am doing quite well my boy, since it's your birthday, is there something you want me to buy?" The Third Hokage asked. The Third Hokage did witness some of Naruto's early training where he mostly did physical exercises, but left it at that.
"I want to go have lunch at Ichiraku!" Naruto shouted the answer with happiness.
"Well my boy, we were already about to do that, so do you have anything else on your mind?" Hiruzen asked.
"Oh! I know what I want now! I want a good Katana to practice and a book to learn how to use it!" Naruto answered with enthusiasm.
"oh, but you are too young to handle a katana, so I will get you a boken until I deem you ready for a real katana," Hiruzen reslakeed. Naruto's mood dampened at first, but cheered up after Hiruzen said he will get him a katana when he is ready.
"Thank you gramps!" Naruto shouted.
"I will see you later my boy, I have work to do now. Meet me at my tower at 12 PM, them we will go for some lunch at Ichirakus'," Hiruzen said leaving the apartment.
Time went on, Naruto got to buy gravity seals from the same place he got his boken. The owner didn't care about his status as the jinchuriki so he treated Naruto as an actual customer instead of kicking Naruto out like other shops do.
November 23rd,
Training ground 44.
Naruto was running with high speeds, he was sweating heavily.
'I am tired, but I can't stop now! Else I will die!' Naruto thought with panic. Suddenly, a huge tiger jumped in front of him. Now he is surrounded from both sides.
'Ah shit,' Was Naruto's thought.
The tiger he was running away from caught up to him and is circling him from a distance with the other tiger.
Suddenly one of them jumped right at him, he jumped away, throwing kunai at it. 'Dang it, it was my last kunai!' he thought.
"I told you that you should always bring extra!" Kurama scolded Naruto.
'Now is not the time!' Naruto shouted back in his mindscape.
The other tiger jumped right at him, for which Naruto braced himself for the impact. He instinctually clasped his hands and used chakra. Suddenly a huge tree grew and wrapped both the tigers tightly so they won't get away.
Naruto panted a bit.
"Phew, that was a close call," Naruto said to himself.
'umh, Kurama? You there?' Naruto asked which brought Kurama out of it's stupor.
"BRAT! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU JUST DID!?" Kurama shouted.
'umhh, did I just do that?' Naruto asked with surprise acknowledging the tree for the first time.
"You did brat! That right there is the mokuton! The kekkei genkai which defeated me when I was under Madara's control, and even subdued my siblings most of my siblings without much as even trying! This kekkei genkai originally came from Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage of Konoha. He was considered to be the strongest ninja of all time!" Kurama shouted.
'Sheesh, This is a huge deal!' Naruto reslakeed with surprise.
"Your training for today is over, get back to training ground 25," Kurama ordered.
Naruto quickly made his way out of the forest of death and got to training ground 25.
"What I am about to tell is not to be told to anyone else, alright!" Kurama said.
'What is it about?' Naruto questioned.
"since you have the mokuton, I believe you deserve to know this. You were chosen to be sealed into me not only because you were an Uzumaki, but the fact that the Yondaime was too noble to sacrifice anyone else's child." Kurama answered. There was a small moment of silence.
'Wait, the Fourth Hokage is my father?' Naruto asked with a bit of hope.
"Yes Naruto, his last wish was for you to be seen as a hero. But people were told of your status much earlier due to foul play from the council to manipulate them into their will. So as to protect you, the Hokage has placed a law to stop the spread of your status to the younger generation which could give you the chance of having friends," Kurama answered.
'Well I will prove them that they are wrong! I will become a Hokage better than my father!' Naruto said.
Kurama smiled at Naruto's determination.
"Since you have the mokuton, you must have some relations to the Senju clan. I will wake you up at 4 am tomorrow so you can go through the Senju clan district. They probably have a huge library to help you out with your situation." Kurama said.
'Alright Kurama! Thank you,' Naruto said with a small smile.
November 24th,
4: 20 AM,
'Finally I made it here,' Naruto thought.
"From what I remember, you need some blood and chakra to activate the gates. You can enter the district if you meet the requirements." Kurama said.
Naruto followed the instructions. He did this where it was hard for the anbu patrolling that side of the area. No one was able to get inside the compound for over 5 years since you are required to meet those specific conditions to enter.
"Yes, you should place the blood there and expel chakra at that seal." Kurama instructed.
Naruto unlocked the gate and opened it. He closed it slowly so as to not make it squeak, it didn't since the seals maintained it in perfect condition for over 50 years.
He made his way around the place, it looked quite familiar to the Uchiha district with all the classical building styles. He finally found the library of the Senju clan.
"Naruto, if you find some seals, take them. use the empty scrolls to copy down the necessary things such as elemental chakra control exercises, mokuton jutsu, and some other jutsus which interest you," Kurama instructed.
Naruto copied many jutsus down and some theory on seals and space time jutsu as well. Most of the theory behind Fuinjutsu was written by Mito and Tobirama who were experts at that field. Kurama emphasized that although the theory was boring, it is very important to learn it because the basis of Fuinjutsu is theory.
Naruto also got to copy down a very interesting jutsu, the shadow clone jutsu. It can send back both muscle memory and memories of the clone. This can hugely help out Naruto with his training since he can multiply the rate at which he is learning. Naruto also found many taijutsu styles which he could learn.
Naruto quickly copied down all that he could and left.
It was about 9 AM when Naruto left the Senju district. The anbu patrol reduced a bit around the main populous since the Uchiha clan police force were filling in those areas to punish any crimes and protect the area. So it was a bit easier to get away from that place and go back to his apartment without issues with the anbu.
Training ground 25,
"Ok, so I am supposed to mold my chakra like this and expel as much chakra as possible uh," Naruto read to himself.
Naruto used the cross hand seal and made about 5 shadow clones.
"Originally, you would be nearly dead after creating that many clones. Thanks to me teaching you chakra control, you can use many high class jutsu despite not having as much as chakra necessary." Kurama stated.
'Yup,' Was Naruto's quick reply.
Kurama just huffed at his jinchuriki's careless attitude.
'This jutsu is very easy to use. The only problem is that it requires too much chakra for anyone to use, so it's not worth the chakra use for most,' Naruto thought.
He made another clone to even the number out and sent them to train them on water and earth chakra natures.
To make a beginner learn the steps to nature manipulation faster, they use hand signs which is assigned to each element. These hand signs can be used as stepping stones, but should not be used after an initial phase since it can impede with the rate of training. Using no hand seals can also make it easier for the body to produce the specific chakra nature with just a thought, making it easier to learn that element's jutsu and also to create one's own jutsu as well.
Naruto himself had to exercise since the clones can't help him out with physical exercises. He went on top of the lake and started of with his warm ups.
Uchiha clan compound,
3 : 30 PM
A 10 year old Itachi came to his clan compound, proudly showing of his chunin vest. He was easily the greatest prodigy from the Uchiha clan since Madara Uchiha. Itachi graduated at the age of 8 which might not have been the youngest some had come out of academy, but during peace times it is very rare that someone graduates below the age of 10, let alone 8.
Uchiha Satsuki, Itachi's younger sister was considered to be above average, not to her brother's level, but certainly not weak. Despite not mastering the Fire ball jutsu in the first try like Itachi did, she trained in it for a whole week and impressed her father.
"Why can't I join the academy yet? I already mastered the great fire ball jutsu!" Satsuki shouted, pouting.
"You are too young to join. You are only 5 years old, you have to wait until you are 7 like other do." Mikoto said gently.
Satsuki just huffed.
"Don't get too upset, let's go get some tomatoes from the market shall we, I plan on making some tomato salad and onigiri for dinner" Mikoto said, getting Satsuki's mood to turn a sudden 180.
"Let's go!" Satsuki yelled with happiness
4 PM,
Training ground 25,
"Boss! Look at this!" his clones waved the leaves, which were bloated with water and resembled rocks.
"Now you should try doing that without the hand seals!" Naruto ordered them.
'What! It usually takes one weeks to do this step, but this brat did this in a day! he is a real prodigy!' Kurama thought with awe
"Brat, dispel them and make a new batch. This will make it much faster to master the nature manipulation," Kurama said in his mind.
Naruto quickly did that. He had a wave of memories hit him, and for a moment lost concentration, nearly falling into the lake. "hahaha! you should have dispelled them one at a time!" Kurama laughed out.
'You should have told me!' Naruto shouted at Kurama.
Naruto went back to solid land and tried out the leaf exercise. He managed to make a leaf bloat up due to the water he made go inside it, and the other he made it into a rock like substance, very hard and crumbly to be exact.
Naruto made 6 shadow clones and made them repeat the exercises, but without any hand signs this time around.
The clones found it difficult, but did get some progress in since they have very high affinities towards the two chakra types.
"Brat, you might have other chakra affinities as well, so I recommend you that you go get some chakra paper. You can just say to the owner of that store that you are simply curious." Kurama instructed.
Naruto left his clones to their own devices.
The Hokage Tower,
"Lord Hokage, the Uchiha clan has massed some supporters for the coup, but most of the elders and my father are opposing it. The village distrusting my clan has provoked them a lot. It's only getting worse day by day." A kneeling Itachi said with a frown.
"That's quite concerning. Both of you keep me informed on all meetings regarding this issue." Hiruzen ordered.
"Yes Lord Hokage!" Both Shisui and Itachi saluted.
Higarashi smith,
"Why are we here mom?" Satsuki asked, a bit irked that they didn't go to the market to get tomatoes.
"Well, didn't you want to start your ninja training? In this place, you can get what you need to start it of," Mikoto replied with a gentle smile.
"WHAT! Really!" Satsuki squealed with excitement.
"You can go look around the place, just make sure you don't touch anything sharp," Mikoto instructed.
Satsuki started to walk around the store, having a look of amazement in her eyes. Suddenly she bumped into someone.
"Hey! Watch out!" Satsuki said with a bit of anger in her voice.
"Shouldn't you be the one watching out? You were the one who was running around this store after all!" The person she bumped into replied in a calm voice.
She realized that she was the one in the wrong, but she decided not to relent her stance.
"Oh yea? Shouldn't you also be watching out still!" She retorted.
"Very well then, we both were at the wrong. We both weren't concentrating at what's in front of us," The person replied. It happened to be one tired Naruto. He ran to the markets at top speeds and got some vegetables and spices to make his bland diet a bit more appetizing, and after all that run, he came to the Higarashi store to do what he originally came here for.
"Fine," Satsuki huffed out.
'Geez, are all girls like that?' Naruto thought.
"Most are Feisty like that! Your mom was known for her anger. She beat the shit out of your godfather for trying to peep on women in the hot springs," Kurama said, having a small laugh when he mentioned Kushina.
"Hey Satsuki, Where were you? I was looking for you everywhere." Mikoto questioned Satsuki.
"Oh hey mom! I was just looking around the shop to see everything there is here," Satsuki replied with a smile.
'Oh, that's her mother huh, would be nice if my mom was alive,' Naruto thought with a bit of sadness.
Mikoto turned to see who her daughter was talking to. Her eyes widened, he was an exact copy of her best friend's husband, Minato Namikaze. Her eyes softened with sadness and pity. Naruto got a bit defensive when Mikoto looked at him like that, but he relaxed a bit, but still in guard after seeing that she had a look of sadness and pity in her eyes.
"Brat, She knows who your parents are, after all she is your godmother. She is probably guilty that she couldn't take you in." Kurama said in his mind.
Naruto then realized why she looked at him with those eyes. He didn't like when someone looks at him with pity so he was a bit defensive.
Satsuki seemed to understand that her mom knew who that boy was, so she curiously kept on watching.
"Satsuki, is he your friend?" Mikoto asked with a smile.
"No, we just bumped into each other a while ago. We both got distracted looking at all the items here," Satsuki said a bit sheepishly.
Naruto just nodded at Satsuki's explanation to show he agreed with it.
Mikoto looked at what he was holding in his hands, it was a chakra paper. Specifically used to know one's chakra affinity. 'Why would he buy one at such a young age?' Mikoto thought with a frown.
Naruto realizing Mikoto was eyeing the chakra paper he had in his hand, he slowly shoved it into his pocket, bowed and went to the counter to pay for it.
"Hmm? Chakra paper at your age? What do you need it for?" The owner asked.
"I just wanted to know what my affinity was, it's just to quench my curiosity," Naruto replied, trying not to seem suspicious.
The owner nodded and sold the paper to Naruto. The paper was about 200 Ryo, quite expensive since it's rare to get and takes a long time to manufacture.
"Brat, don't forget that you will have to learn Fuinjutsu theory. If you want to master your great grandfather and father's Flying Raijin jutsu, you need to learn all the complex theories behind it." Kurama said.
'Alright, I will send clones to study it,' Naruto said back.
"You can't over use your clones for studying. The brain will take too much information at the same time, which is very bad for it. This can lead to over straining it, which might cause some of your brain cells to die. Utmost, you are allowed to use 2 shadow clones for anything study related." Kurama said in a stern voice. Using the shadow clones does exactly what Kurama said. Using clones for training in chakra control and muscle memory involves some brain power, but mostly muscle memory and chakra. This is why one can use more clones for training compared to purely studying.
Naruto quickly made his way into his training ground.
"Naruto, I think it's time that you get a upgrade in terms of a training ground. This place might not get visited too much, but is still a path for ninjas to exit and enter the village. So it might be under surveillance." Kurama said.
'What do you say then? Where should I go to train?' Naruto asked.
"I don't know, why don't you go check out the Senju district.
