The three teens crept through the old mansion, eyes peeled for just about any signs of anything supernatural. "Okay, according to the guide, this is one of the most haunted places in Hollywood." The guy told his female companions. "Tonight, we should see us a ghost."

"This is lame." The pale girl replied. "We should have just done a seance. We could have chosen who to talk to, maybe got some answers, like why the hell they thought the Exorcist needed a squeal."

"Again, John Boorman is still alive." The tanned Latina groaned.

"I was talking about calling the ghost of his career." The pale, blue eyes brunette said, a smirk dancing on her lips. "Okay, cause my girl here chose to look it up, I'll admit he's still making movies. Just that squeal wasn't good."

"Can we just focus." Beck griped. "God, I wish Dre could have made it."

"He's not one to go deliberately looking for ghosts." Tori reminded the boy. "And Cat was busy, which I totally believe."

"And that statement is why I think someone called and warned her about this trip." Jade said, eyeing the Latina.

"Guys, quite." Beck snapped. "We need to focus on finding evidence of ghosts."

"Afraid we'll scare then off?" Jade asked her ex. "God, Beck, this is lame. And not just best of the food truck crawl lame, but binging the smurfs lame."

"Maybe he just doesn't like us fighting." Tori speculated. "Lord knows I don't. Jade, we need to learn to let things go. Like Robbie, you weren't upset when he couldn't make it, and massaging his grandmothers feet sounds like a made up excuse, cause he always needs help when he does that."

"I told him he didn't wanna be trapped in the dark with me." Jade admitted. "What? I know that creeper. Hell, he's always been more my friend then Beck's, and no way I wanted to go ghost hunting with him…"

For a moment, Tori expected her girl to continue. However, after a moment of silence, she reacted. "Jade, be nice."

"Not her style." Beck reminded the Latina. "You could have gone out with me, but you said you wanted to take a chance on the psychotic one." He flashed his smile at Jade, reflected it the red lights they were using. "Her words, not mine."

"Not worrying about her words." Jade hissed. "She told me she was dating me so I didn't go postal and take out the school. No, I need quiet cause I'm tacking a conversation."

For almost two seconds, the three were silent. "I don't hear anything." Tori told them.

"Jade sometimes hears things." Beck told her. "Should have warned you about that."

"Guys, hush!" Jade growled. "The spirits aren't happy about something. I hear the echos of their complaints. Something about, come on, just a bit louder." Her eyes glanced around. "I need to get closer…."

"I said, we need to start taking reservations." The old woman who'd been haunting the house for over fifty years said. She'd only come closer when she realized that someone could hear her.

"Oh…" Jade eyed the spirit. "Yea, not sure how to explain this…"

"Explain what?" Tori asked. Beck just pointed at his pale ex, nodding.

"You do realize, they can't see you, right?" Jade asked the spirit.

"Kinda surprised you can." The ghost said, smiling. "Okay, I was just complaining to the others that, with the exceptions of the haunts, you know, those of us who are little more then a repetition of a few actions taken during life, or strong emotional scars on the ether, we're still aware enough to appreciate a night off. Yet here we are, with three groups of ghost hunters traipsing around in the dark."

"Why is that?" Jade asked. "Why only active during in the dark?" She waned to go on, but was becoming aware that she was in the middle of a conversation with a ghost, and neither of her co companions knew she did that.

"Oh, we're active all the time." The old woman said. "Okay, some of us do need some down time, to recharge, but mostly, we're just not that interested in an audience. We do sometimes reach out, but for the most part, we coexist, and that means not disturbing the living. Honestly, you're the one's haunting us…"

"Um, Jade, you do realize there's no one there." Tori tried.

"She has no idea, does she?" The old ghost said. "But you, I'm hardly the first ghost you've spoken too. Calm, almost frustrated. My, my, my, it has to be hard on you… Did you know, they once played the sixth sense here, for a promotional thingy, about five years ago. Made us understand how hard it was for people like you, even if no one had a clue about how real that movie was."

"My gran loves the old show, Angel." Jade said. "Ghost Dennis is like one of her favorite characters."

"Sigh, they don't give us nearly enough entertainment." The old woman said. "Then again, I'm from an era well before television was an all the time thing. Been dead for a minute, you know."

"See, I told you, she hears voices." Beck continued. "Sometimes, at her mothers place, I find her talking to the air, and I just, I don't know…" He shrugged. "Girls got issues, so I accepted the schizophrenia. It's honestly one of her less off putting traits. At least her ghosts aren't telling her to kill people."

"Jade, when were you gonna tall me about this?" Tori asked.

"She wasn't." A hollow voice whispered to the gathered. "It takes a practiced spirit to talk to the living, so those like her, who can speak with the dead, they're valued."

Jade spun on her feet, looking towards the source of the voice. "He does that." The old woman said. "Then again, he's the oldest of us. Been here since well before the house was even constructed. He even predates the building from before, some local tribesman who suffered at the hands of the missionaries. You'd be amazed at his stories…."

"I protected the land, and my people, before the white man came and screwed everything up." A short but rugged looking man said. Jade suspected he'd risen up from the floor, but for all she knew, he'd just appeared behind her. "And I was like you, able to see and converse with the spirits. You, my dear, must study the way, become a shaman. I know a guy, can hook you up with some teaching."

"Awfully modern language for a four hundred year old spirit." Jade noted.

"Sikowitz has been rubbing off on me." The old ghost commented.

"And why am I not surprised." Jade chuckled.

"Um, guys?" Tori said, having come to the conclusion that the voice she'd heard might just well be a ghost. "Jade can see the ghosts."

"Y-You said this was lame…" Beck stammered out.

"Yea, when you live with ghosts, this kind of thing is hella lame." Jade told him. "Now quite, this guy was about to tell me how he knows out acting teacher."

"He knows Sikowitz….?!" Tori asked, but the shock faded unnaturally fast. "Why is it that's the most logical thing that's happened since we entered this haunted house."

"Now, lets talk about arranging a system, reservations." Jade said to the spirits, even as she felt the their gathering. "Halloween is coming, and we all know how crowded this place is gonna get… Maybe we can talk to the company that arranged out tour, see if they'd like to work with you guys..."
