Roadkill- Inosuke

Living in the woods was something Inosuke couldn't imagine not doing. That's where he'd lived his entire life, it was his home, the one place he knew. So, when anything happened to it, he really got riled up. lately a new road had been added, one that ran right through it, Inosuke hated it, the large moving monsters would fly by along the carved out stone path. Nothing could have been worse. It wasn't just him with the problem too! Every animal he knew of had a deep hate for the strong cars that dashed down the road, blocking their path.

Some animals adapted better than other, Inosuke was one who'd faired better than the others. He knew when the cars were coming, his beast breathing alerted him to any movement with plenty time to react. But that just wasn't the case for everyone. Some just couldn't tell for the life of them, some never managed to figure out what they were supposed to do when one seemed to appear from nowhere. And that's how they got hurt.

On a sunny afternoon, Inosuke heard and felt one pass by. Then he heard a thud. And a nasty screech. Knowing that those horrible monsters must have done something, he ran to chase it. before he could even get their it had run off. Inosuke didn't see the point in chasing it much further, it was already just a dot in the distance by then, and he knew his own speed. Cursing it, he went to see what that nasty squeal was about. It didn't take him long.

There in the road, closer to the side of it, was a young boar, a small one, maybe it was a child. Either way it was struggling to breath. And it was covered in blood, its own blood. Looking like it had been attacked by only the most vicious predator. So young too. Poor Boar had been practically split in half, with its head suffering the worst injuries, the damage was too serious, it was horrible. The blood gushed out, flowing onto the stone road that had in a way caused the death. Revealing all of its insides to the world around it as the baby whined in pain, like it didn't have the energy to truly express its pain. Still, it did its best, maybe because it didn't know what else to do, well what was there to do? Its blood was spilling out and some seemed to even be dragged along the path, must have been from when the car drove off, Inosuke hoped the blood would forever stain it. the young boar, which Inosuke felt might as well be part of his family, cries started becoming quieter, as the blood stopped its rapid flow. Silence.

It died.

Inosuke had seen a hell of a lot of animals eating other animals, but none compared to this. more than anything it was pointless; nobody had gained a meal for their own survival. Somehow this type of death was the worst.
