Trypophobia- Genya

Genya hated holes. They freaked him out to no end. He'd heard it was common, but he was never so sure. Every time he saw one, especially the smaller ones, he couldn't help but shiver. It was something he kept to himself, if Sanemi ever found out then he was sure he'd be seeing holes everywhere. The tiny ones really were the worst to him, especially when they were all clumped together like a hive. Sanemi would have wanted him to get a grip.

Then came his fight with Hantengu. While he was desperate to save Tanjiro, he did not know that his worst fears would have come true. Maybe he wouldn't have done it. after the blast by one of the demons, he felt almost to enraged to notice what had happened to his body. It was covered in holes. All over it. going right through him. it took everything in him to not scream, to look brave. For that moment he had to concentrate on his anger, not his intense fear. He could feel it all over him, he could physically feel the circles. He didn't exactly know how it worked but this was setting him off, like someone had pressed the 'panic' button in his brain. He couldn't even concentrate on what he was doing, in fact he practically blacked out from fear alone but also anger, anger mostly at the demons for doing this to him but also, for some reason, at circles in general. It wasn't logical. But phobias weren't always logical.

After the battle, he'd healed. Not like he didn't think he would but still, he had worried that somehow, for some unknown reason, the holes would stick. Even hours after they had gone away, he was sure that he could still feel them lingering. Like ghosts. They haunted him for months after. He could just sense where they had been. like invisible scars. Every time he looked at where they were, he half expected to still see the holes engraved into his skin. It only set him off more when he saw holes now, he couldn't even eat strawberries anymore, the small hole made him want to puke, and if he ate them then he was sure he would. Even watermelons, his favourite, were getting hard to look at. He had to concentrate on the celling and bite into them, to avoid having to look at the seeds.

It was getting so bad he couldn't go a day without coming close to madness just seeing holes in everything. Maybe Hantengu really was going to kill him. why were their holes everywhere? He couldn't get away. So, he locked himself in the bathroom, feeling like he just had to throw up. he had to grip onto the walls in case he collapsed. Breathing to heavily for his own good, he tried to calm himself down.

That's when he noticed his face in the mirror. his eyes were wide. But still he looked closer, at his skin. Pore. His face was covered in holes.

He had to get rid of them.
