Ochaco turned to me with a serious look on her face, though her voice betrayed her nerves.
Ochaco:Are you ready?
she asked, her tone shaking just slightly.
I smiled a bit, trying to ease the tension.
Izuku:I should be the one asking you that.
Her cheeks flushed as she fidgeted, looking down.
Ochaco:S...sorry, this is my first—
"No worries,"
I interrupted, holding up a hand to calm her.
Izuku:I already have a plan.
She looked up at me, surprised.
Ochaco:You do?
I nodded confidently.
Izuku:Yeah, I've got it covered.
As we entered the building, I took off my glove and placed my bare hand against the wall. Instantly, several lines of glowing energy spread out from my palm, weaving throughout the structure. I could feel everything every object, every person, every movement. It was like seeing without seeing, my senses heightened to the point where I could detect the very atoms in the air. The faintest vibrations from footsteps, the tiniest shifts in the air currents
it all became clear to me.
Izuku:Lida's guarding the bomb upstairs
I said.
Izuku:I want you to get it and place it right in the center of the room.
Ochaco blinked at me, confused.
Ochaco:But... how?
I handed her a few small rocks.
Izuku:Use these.
She looked at the stones in her palm, then back at me, still uncertain.
Ochaco:What are these for?
I explained quickly,
Izuku:Your Quirk lets you make things weightless, right? You can use these to distract Lida. Throw them at him, make them float and surround him. He's fast, but if you can get him caught up trying to dodge, it'll give you the opening you need. His engines make him predictable when he's focused on moving fast in straight lines.
Her eyes widened as realization dawned on her.
Ochaco:Oh! I get it. That's smart!
Izuku:Just focus on the mission. If it gets too dangerous, don't hesitate to retreat. It's not worth getting hurt over.
Ochaco gave me a determined nod.
Ochaco:I won't let you down.
I watched her run off, determination etched on her face. Despite her nervousness, she had the heart of a true hero. Still, I couldn't help but shake my head slightly. She's going to get herself killed with that attitude one day, good thing I'm here
I thought to myself.
With her part underway, I shifted my attention to my own task. I muttered under my breath,
"Shadowsteps."
The energy coursed through me, and in an instant, I vanished. Moving at speeds so fast it didn't even leave an afterimage, I zipped through the building. Even at just 15% of One Above All, I was moving faster than most could comprehend. All Might matches and surpass me sure but at my peak I easily outclass him, or a serious Izumi at her peak usage of one for all, but right now, there wasn't anyone else at this school who could keep up.
Suddenly, a deafening BOOM shook the entire floor. A shockwave tore through the hallway, narrowly missing me as I darted to the side, my body weaving effortlessly through the debris.
I landed softly on the floor, eyes narrowed.
"Speak of the devil," I muttered as I straightened up.
In front of me stood Izumi. Her hero suit was sleek and armored, the colors a familiar mix of green and black. My jaw clenched her outfit was modeled after a design I had drawn as a child, back when we still got along. The sight of it made something tighten in my chest, but I pushed the feeling aside.
Izumi:I'm not letting you get through
she said, raising her fist. Her eyes gleamed with determination, and I knew she was serious. This wasn't the sister I used to know; this was someone who had been molded by years of training and ambition but unfortunately it changes nothing
I simply nodded. "Okay."
Without another word, I shot forward, closing the gap between us in an instant. But Izumi was ready her reflexes were sharp. She threw her hand forward, releasing her Quirk.
"Shockblast!"
Another shockwave exploded from her hand, sending a massive pulse of energy straight at me. The force of it cracked the walls and sent a torrent of wind blasting down the corridor.
For a split second, I disappeared into the storm of dust and debris.
Izumi:Did that get him?
she muttered, scanning the aftermath. Her eyes darted through the dust cloud, trying to find any sign of movement.
When the dust cleared, she froze.
I stood there, completely unharmed, surrounded by a translucent, swirling barrier of dark energy. It pulsed with power, absorbing the force of her shockwave like it was nothing.
"Dark Aegis,"
I said calmly, lowering my hand as the shield shimmered around me.
Izuku:You'll have to do better than that, Izumi
Izumi's eyes widened in shock as I appeared in front of her. I didn't hesitate, throwing a punch straight at her. The force behind it was enough to send shockwaves rippling through the air.
BANG.
She barely raised her arms in time to block, but the impact was brutal. I saw her grit her teeth, her body trembling from the sheer force before she was launched backward. She smashed through the air like a missile, slamming into a wall, her breath escaping her in a sharp gasp.
I wasn't done. In an instant, I reappeared in front of her, my foot swinging in a vicious arc. The kick connected hard, sending her flying once again. She crashed through several walls, tearing apart the structure of the building before skidding to a halt on the ground.
"Shadowsteps."
I vanished from where I stood, intending to press the attack, but suddenly
BOOM!
Another shockwave hit me head-on. This time, I barely managed to hold my ground as dark whips of energy sprouted from my body, stabilizing me against the blast. I slid back slightly, my shoes scraping the floor, but I didn't fall. The force of the shockwave was immense, but my One Above All energy tendrils absorbed most of the damage.
Izumi appeared right in front of me, moving with surprising speed. Green lightning sparked across her body as her aura intensified.
"Full cowling 10%!"
Without hesitation, she threw a punch at me. I caught her fist, but the force behind it sent a jolt through my arm. We launched into a rapid exchange of blows, our fists colliding with explosive power. Her movements were fluid, precise—clearly the result of her training under All Might, Hisashi, and maybe even Endeavor. She was strong, but I could see the gaps in her technique.
I countered with a series of quick jabs, weaving between her strikes effortlessly. I'd trained in over ten different martial arts styles, each one honed to perfection. While her strength was impressive, my experience gave me the edge. My body moved like a shadow, dodging her punches and kicks with ease, landing my own blows where her defenses were weakest.
She threw a high kick aimed at my head, but I ducked under it, stepping inside her guard. My elbow shot forward, slamming into her ribs. She gasped in pain, stumbling back, but she quickly recovered, throwing a powerful right hook.
I twisted my body, dodging the hook and driving my knee into her stomach. Izumi coughed, spitting up blood, but she retaliated immediately. Her hand crackled with energy as she used her shockwave quirk, amplifying it with a finger flick.
BOOM!
A massive shockwave exploded from her hand, aiming to blow me away. But I wasn't going down that easily.
"NIGHTMARE GRASP!"
I shouted.
Dark energy surged around my hands forming a claw as I sliced through her shockwave with a single motion. The energy split apart like paper, but the force still managed to push me back several feet. I skid to a halt, glaring at her through the haze of energy.
Izumi appeared behind me in a flash, ready to strike, but before she could land a hit, she collided with my barrier.
BANG!
"Dark Aegis,"
I muttered.
The impact sent her flying backward, her body crashing into the ground with a loud thud. Before she could recover, I was already in front of her again. I grabbed her by the collar and slammed her into the floor with brutal force.
CRASH.
She screamed, blood spurting from her mouth as her body rattled from the impact. Her bones creaked under the strain, and I could see she was in immense pain. But she wasn't done yet.
"One for All, 20%!"
The ground beneath her feet cracked as her body surged with power. She blasted a shockwave from her chest, sending me flying backward. I twisted in mid-air, landing on my feet with ease, but before I could react
"DETROIT SMASH!"
Izumi appeared above me, her fist descending like a meteor. The sheer force of her punch made the air around us tremble, and when it hit the ground, it was like an earthquake had struck. The entire building shook violently, debris falling from the ceiling.
But to her shock, as the dust cleared, I was standing there, completely unharmed.
My Dark Aegis flickered around me, absorbing the full force of her attack. I released the shield and cracked my neck, the energy of One Above All swirling around me. I clenched my fist, channeling energy into it.
Without a word, I rushed forward, driving my fist into her gut.
THUD.
Izumi let out a sharp cry, her body folding over my fist as the air was knocked from her lungs. She didn't have time to recover. I wasn't finished.
"PHANTOM STRIKE."
In the span of mere seconds, I unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks, each one faster and stronger than the last. My movements were a blur, almost impossible to track. Every hit landed with precision, my energy amplifying the impact. Her body jerked violently with each blow, blood spraying from her mouth as her suit began to tear apart from the sheer force.
I hope she has some clothes underneath
Izumi was sent flying again, her body skidding across the floor. She coughed up more blood, her breathing ragged. Her hero suit was in tatters, barely holding together after the relentless barrage. She lay there for a moment
The tension in the observation room was thick as Class 1-A watched the battle unfold between Izuku and Izumi. Their eyes widened with every move Izuku made, his techniques crisp and precise, his control over his quirk absolute. He moved with a fluidity and confidence none of them had ever seen before, not even in pro heroes.
Katsumi gritted her teeth, the weight of her pride pressing down hard as she stared at the screen.
Katsumi:This can't be real... How did Deku get this strong?
Shoto, usually calm, couldn't hide his surprise.
Shoto:He's a completely different person from the Izuku we knew.
Katsuki, his pride wounded from their childhood was silent for a moment before he growled,
"Damn it... Deku's gone beyond us. Way beyond."
Shiori's voice trembled.
Shoto:Izuku... he's stronger than Izumi... She's been the strongest in our group, but look at him...
The rest of Class 1-A couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Kaminari:Izuku's a monster...
Kaminari:muttered, his jaw practically on the floor.
Kirishima, eyes wide with awe, leaned forward.
Kirishima:That's some serious manly stuff right there! The way he fights... he's incredible!
Jirou shook her head, still processing the fight.
Jirou:I knew he was strong, but this is another level entirely.
Tsuyu whose eyes were glued to the screen
Tsuyu: it's like I'm watching two pro heroes fighting
Others didn't say anything they just basically watched and observed
Aizawa, arms crossed, stood next to All Might, his eyes fixed on the battle.
Aizawa:You paired them up on purpose, didn't you?
All Might nodded slightly, his face unreadable.
All might:Yes, I had my reasons.
Aizawa said nothing further, though he thought to himself that he probably would've done the same.
Back to izuku
BOOM!
Another shockwave slammed into me, the force of it pushing me back a few steps. Izumi charged in immediately after, her body spinning as she delivered a vicious roundhouse kick, her leg cloaked in energy from her shockwave quirk.
I read her movements, knowing she was trying to end this quickly before I could activate Dark Aegis. Timing my counter perfectly, I coated my fist in energy and met her kick head-on.
BAM!
The impact was colossal. Dust and debris exploded from the collision as the floor beneath us cracked under the pressure. As the smoke cleared, Izumi's leg was visibly injured, the brunt of the attack leaving a clear mark. My gauntlet, slightly fractured, wasn't much worse for wear.
Izumi, panting heavily, straightened herself.
Izumi:You're strong... too strong... but I'm not giving up!
I stared at her for a moment, admiring her tenacity.
Izuku:How long do you think you can keep this up?
Red veins of energy spread across her body as she activated Full Cowling at 30%. The strain was visible, but she pushed forward with determination in her eyes.
Izumi:As long as it takes to beat you!
she shouted.
I shook my head in pity. "Sad."
She's running on mostly adrenaline at this point.
And then, we clashed.
Our movements became a blur, fists flying at incredible speeds, legs sweeping, elbows striking, every inch of the battlefield coming alive with the sound of raw combat. The sheer force of our punches created shockwaves, sending debris flying in every direction.
Izumi rushed forward with a right hook, aiming for my jaw. I ducked under the blow and retaliated with a powerful uppercut, but she spun gracefully mid-dodge, avoiding the hit and bringing her knee up toward my ribs.
I blocked the knee strike with my forearm, feeling the sharp pain shoot through my arm, but before she could follow up, I stepped forward and sent a quick jab toward her face. She leaned back, narrowly avoiding it, and countered with a spinning kick to my side. I twisted my body just enough to evade the blow and responded with a sharp elbow aimed at her shoulder.
CRACK!
My elbow connected, and she stumbled back, her shoulder momentarily going limp. But she recovered quickly, gritting her teeth through the pain, and launched herself at me again, her fists blazing with energy.
Her attacks were wild but precise—she sent rapid jabs to my chest, trying to break my guard. I weaved between the punches, catching one of her wrists and pulling her off balance. Using the momentum, I spun her around and aimed to bring my knee into her gut, but she flipped out of the hold, landing gracefully on her feet.
She was fast. Very fast.
But I was faster.
As she landed, I closed the distance, appearing in front of her before she could react. I brought my fist down in a hammer strike, but she deflected it with her forearm, countering with a swift punch aimed at my gut. I twisted to the side, dodging the hit, and sent a low kick to sweep her legs from under her.
SWISH!
She jumped over the sweep, using her quirk to enhance her reflexes, and came down with a double-fisted hammer blow aimed at my head. I raised both arms, crossing them to block, the sheer impact of her strike sending tremors through my body. My feet dug into the cracked floor as I braced myself.
We were relentless. Every punch, every kick, every counter was faster, more precise. The sound of our battle echoed through the room, filling it with the clash of raw strength and power. Izumi was giving it everything she had, but I could see it—she was starting to break down. Her movements were growing sloppy, her attacks losing their precision.
I ducked under a wild punch and delivered a powerful sidekick to her ribs. She gasped in pain as she flew back, crashing into the wall. She coughed, blood trickling from her lips, but still, she stood.
She roared, her eyes fierce with determination, and gathered all of her remaining strength into her fist. Her hand crackled with an immense shockwave, the energy warping the air around it.
"SEISMIC FLICK!"
she screamed, funneling everything into one final attack.
I smiled, gathering a pulsating orb of energy in my hand. "Checkmate."
"ECLIPSE BEAM!"
We shouted at the same time as our final attacks collided in a violent explosion of power. A pressured shock cannon fired at a concentrated beam of pure energy The entire battlefield was engulfed in light and sound, the top of the building tearing apart from the force of the impact. The explosion sent shockwaves through the air, shattering windows and ripping through the structure.
Just as I planned most of the impact travelled upwards in the middle due to the central point of collision in our attack which tore through the roof, revealing ochaco with the missile as it floated in mid air
She did well
As the dust settled, I saw Ochaco using her gravity quirk to keep the bomb in place, her eyes wide with concern. Iida was sprawled on the ground, his suit battered but intact. I gave Ochaco a thumbs-up, and she blushed in response.
My gaze shifted back to Izumi, who lay on the ground, her body utterly broken. Her arm was mangled, twisted at an unnatural angle, and blood coated her battered form. Her chest rose and fell with labored breaths, but despite the pain, she looked at me with a fierce determination that had yet to wane.
Izuku:You did well
I said, reaching out my hand to help her up.
Yes I hated her for our shared past but to be honest, that was actually awesome and it gave me a lot of insight about one for all and I came up with a theory or something...
If this is how it goes she isn't going to live long
Obviously I already know how to fix it but she doesn't seem she'll kick the bucket...for now
She blinked, then hesitantly took my hand.
Izumi:Th...thank you
she whispered, her voice weak but grateful.
Ochaco rushed to my side, her face bright with relief. "We did it!"
I smiled softly.
Izuku:Yeah, we did.
Iida, having recovered from the blast, stood up and approached me. His uniform was singed, but he seemed unharmed.
Lida:That was an impressive match, izuku.
I shook his hand.
Izuku:Thanks, Iida.
Then, All Might's booming voice echoed across the room. "THE HERO TEAM WINS!"
